Hotel Villa Cuba: An okay resort

The grounds were great..food not so much..weather fantastic..location was good...Service was great..Bathroom in rooms plumbing very slow..broken hair blower they did not replace..took away did not bring back..

Starfish Jibacoa: Pleasant Surprise

Everything was better than what we were expecting. We booked this 3 star with no great expectations..we were looking for the beach and relaxation....the room was better than expected...a bungalow...clean...a/c...hair dryer....clean....bathroom was very clean....the food was even better than expected....we have traveled to Cuba many times...it is not for the food...but it was good...unless you are fussy...basic but good...there are 3 restaurants within walking distance...also good and not expens [... read more]ive....staff was excellent...overall a great week and we would return.

Paradisus Varadero: Great week at an amazing resort

Just returned from an amazing week at Paradisus Varadero. This is a beautiful resort. Don't pay attention to bad reviews. The grounds are beautiful and clean. There are so many places to relax by yourself or be with other people if that's what you choose. There are plenty of chairs by pool and on the beach. They were so friendly and always doing their best t [... read more]o make you happy and relaxed. Our room was a Junior Suite on the 2nd floor of a hacienda in the main area. We were very close to the pool and not too far to walk to main bar/lobby area. We had three people in the room, myself and two teenage boys. We were very happy with the room. It was clean and spacious. We had a third bed put in which was there upon our arrival. We never felt crowded. The buffet was plentiful but travellers have to remember - it is a buffet and it is Cuba. If you don't like resort food, don't go to a resort. We tried a couple of the A la Carte restaurants which were really good and a nice change. We especially loved the snack bar by the pool. Our server Thahira was especially wonderful and greeted me with my morning capppuccino each day. They have a menu with other choices than what you can get at the buffet. My sons loved the Paradiso Burger. The entertainment each night was lovely as was the music by the pool and beach bar. Originally I hesitated to book this resort after reading some negative reviews. We had a completely wonderful experience here and I thank the TripCentral agent, Julie Bond for recommending it to me. I highly recommend this resort for Varadero travellers. Thank you to all of the staff at Paradisus Varadero for making our stay so memorable!

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Best stay yet in Varadero

8th trip to Varadero, 1st trip (but not my last ) to Iberostar Bella Vista Staff - amazing, friendly (pool bar staff are the greatest ! ) Grounds - very clean Room - very clean. Maid should not leave candy in room as we had ants all over from a package that was open. Melia Las Americas: a few changes but still the place to go

service was the best we ever had maid services amazing , beach bar food great staff at your table with in minutes, golf bar food very good but golf bar can get very busy at times. Overall no complaints

Hotel Bella Costa: I love Bella Costa

Everybody was super amazing, especially at the pool bar !! Stayed in a bungalow and it was awesome. Had a little seperate living room and then the main room and bathroom. Corner wrap around patio. All the restaurants had good food & the snack bar was awesome! The beach is amazing and very accessible! Overall loved my stay !!

Playa Vista Azul: Amazing resort

The hotel is amazing. The people at the resort is what makes the trip well worth it. The food was better than anticipated. However, they could work on their drinks. The resort is very modern, and is close to the Varadero market. Highly recommend this resort.

Barcelo Solymar: Amazing Beach !

The Hotel itself is showing its age and is in need of basic upkeep, but room was comfortable. A short 30 minute drive from the airport which was nice and close enough to walk into Varadero for some nice restaurants and nightclubs. Food was edible with some choice, not chosen for the cuisine but rather the beautiful beach. The ala carte restaurants we chose were ok with the exception of the Chinese where the service was brutal. Did I say the beach was awesome.

Hotel Los Cactus: Okay resort

Grounds are well kept with beautiful mature trees and shrubs. Beach is fabulous. Rooms are okay but are in need some updating and renovating. Pool doesn't have stairs, it has ladders, not so easy for the many seniors that go there. The pool patio also is in rough shape with many holes. The food was very good. Lobster was available one night, but only at a certain time and not posted so we didn't know until it was too late. The staff were friendly and helpful. Overall had a good vacation.

Paradisus Varadero: Awesome

Cuba is a great place to go. Will definitely go again soon! The resort is beautiful even though it was affected by the hurricane. The people working there are super friendly and helpful. Loved our stay!

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great staff

The staff are amazing .. it s a bit dated but you can see them working on it to upgrade it , the buffet was not great but the pool snack bar was awesome and the staff could not do enough for you there . The bed are not very comfortable at all ... they are too hard, If there were issues the main desk tried to help but it was slow. we did get Locked out of the room because the mechanism to put your card in would not open the door . It took maintenance 2 and 1/2 hours to get our door open They  [... read more]did not have the necessary tools to do the job,

Sol Varadero Beach: A lot of fun

I went for my reading week with three of my friends. The service was excellent. The food wasn't great. We partied hard every night and only received a couple of respectful noise complaints. I defiantly would go again!

Sol Varadero Beach: Good resort

The beach is the best! You can walk for miles and the view was good. Resort was dated, rooms where clean. Staff was exceptionally nice and accommodating. Food was good with a reasonable selection.

Club Kawama: Lovely Resort

The resort was beautiful, our room overlooked the pool and had a beautiful belcony, we could sit there and watch the nightly entertainment and see everything that was going on. The food was good. The resort is an older resort, but had so much character, with the court yard and all of the stone work.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing vacation

Just returned from this hotel and loved it. I have been to Cuba 7 times and this was my favourite resort I have been to. The food was very good. The staff was amazing and made us feel very welcome and that our needs and concerns were valuable - our butler Jorge was amazing! Highly recommend this resort. We stayed mostly on our side of the resort which I read a number of times from others as well. I didn't find much before I went on how the wine was so I should add that the white was pretty [... read more] good and the red was not.

Club Tropical: Standard Resort

Overall, good price value. Not a large variety and never any wait time at breakfast, lunch and supper. Good location, well situated, right beside the beach, many restaurants near by. Room are generaly ok, exceptable and clean. The restroom on site are usualy clean and always have toilet paper. Nothing really bad to say. The personnel are usualy ok but as usualy you have some who have problem to smile when they dont get a tip often enough. As always, you can get the best room in the worst hotel or you can get the worst room any five star hotel. No comment for the pool as we never use any pool at any hotel.

Sol Palmeras: Relaxing and educational

Sol Palmeros was a great fit for us to celebrate ourr 25th anniversary. The weather at the end of February was between 27-30 Celsius.The resort is older but clean and lovely. We enjoyed a pool acrobatics showed as well as a band with dancers who depicted the history of Cuba. We did several out trips including Matanzas, the town of Veradero and Havana. We always found lots to do and lots of great places to relax. We would recommend that you stay in one of the bungalows although some are quite far [... read more] from the main resort. We flew with Cubana Air and landed at the Veradero airport and the crew was all Cuban and the plane was older but very Good. A great cultural experience!

Club Kawama: Hotel KAWAMA

Our stay at this hotel was wonderful. Kawama is the oldest hotel in the area. The reception of the staff was superb. The attention and welcome given to the returnees excellent. I am happy to know that there was a representative from Quebec to assist the visitors with their needs and act as a liaison between the guest and the hotel. I have drawback and it's related to the guest who feeds the animals that come around.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Sanctuary in Paradise

We had a wonderful trip from Feb 16-23 2018. From the star right through till the end it was great. I always book with tripcentral as I know exactly what I am getting. This was our first time at this particular resort in Varadero and I highly recommend it. The little extras like personal butler and separate private pool and aka carte restaurant, available only to guest if the sanctuary made it even more special. We will go back to Sanctuary at Grand Memories should we travel to Varadero again.

Hotel Bella Costa: mediocre at best

the staff make this place! but the hotel is very old, the food is fair at best and the grounds aren’t really kept up! beach isn’t swept at night and the pool is rough bordering on unsafe- but the staff truly make this place!!!!
