Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Amazing Resort

This resort is amazing because of the amazing food! My boyfriend and I have gone many times to Cuba and I would not go back because I enjoyed Dominican. The beach wasn’t the greatest because of the time of year but I like the pools better. Th pool was great because they had a party pool where all the entertainment was and also the quite pool of you wanted to just relax. Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Decadence Encapsulated...

If you have never explored the notion of a resort on the Island nation of the Dominican Republic I strong suggest you consider Punta Cana. Once you narrow down your choices this resort should be in your sites because it is a dream. The quality of food, the hospitality, the courteous demeanor of the staff, and the willingness to work out details are stupendous. I learned a little about the culture of people that live in the DR and that prompted me to explore a little outside of the comfort of the walled city. I was not nervous about my safety and I appreciated the reality of my discoveries. Check it out and I hope you will be as surprised as I was.

Occidental Caribe: Its really amazing resort

The resort was beautiful especially the the pools and the most beautiful was beach and Also the lobby was perfect but the room that given to us was not ocean view that we booked and service at the lobby bar was very slow and the pool bar was very very slow one day took the bar tender at the pool about 20 minutes to serve me a drink and also the intertement at the pool side was very bad most guests they did not participate in your hotel programs again the resort was beautiful

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Resort

The resort is beautiful, the staff are super friendly and helpful and I'd definitely recommend the small fee to participate in the preferred club status the personal touches are well worth it. There are plenty of restaurants to choose from and I'd recommend doing the Hibatchi one evening.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Very nice resort

Grounds of the resort are beautiful. Needs improvements like providing more air conditioning restaurants or at least more fans . Needs improvements of air conditioning in rooms,not all working well. Problems with plumbing,some rooms got fladded.

Catalonia Royal Bavaro: Disappointing Vacation

Unfortunately I have a lot of negative comments regarding this resort. From the beginning of our stay we experienced a lot of frustration. We were told upon check in that our room had been upgraded but wasn't ready yet. We were then wisked off to a desk where we were invited to a special breakfast and told to bring our credit card. Bottom line Time Share. No thanks. Our room was 28 degrees and had no water. We were told it would be fixed by 10 pm. We spent 2 nights in this room because apparent [... read more]ly the resort was booked. Several other guests were told the same thing. The whole block of rooms had no air they were just hoping no one would complain. We slept with our sliding door open as did many others. We were finally moved to another room. It was definitely cooler, however the door handle was broken as was the toilet handle. To open the door to the room you had to throw your weight against it. Food was quite good. Breakfast was the same every day. Staff in general were not happy or friendly. There seemed to be a constant presence of management floating around almost like they were damage control. I have never had to fill out a survey during breakfast at an all inclusive before. The pool was nice. We were at the quieter infinity pool. Bar service to your lounger was sporatic. The beach is a disaster. Not the resort's fault but an incredible amount of sea weed floating in the water and washed up on the shore made even dipping your toe into the ocean impossible. Not very pleasant smelling either. To say this was a disappointing vacation is an understatement. We will not return nor recommend this resort or chain to anyone.

Wyndham Alltra Punta Cana: Once we got over a horrible welcome, it was a good trip

Upon our arrival, we found that our travel agent had neglected to send the registration information for one of the people in our room, to the hotel. The desk clerk & manager were not willing to accept the hotel confirmation that we had been sent to me, that included this third member. We were checking in with a large wedding party. The mixup with our room resulted in us having a 3 hour wait before we were given a room after paying a $300 deposit. During this time the staff would not allow us [... read more] to sit down in the lobby, or eat - it had been a long day of travel & was 12 hours since we had eaten. This ordeal could have been made a little more bearable if we had been treated with common courtesy & hospitality. The room we were given did not include the cot that we had been promised for my granddaughter, nor enough towels for 3 people. I have yet to receive an apology from the resort or the travel agency. I will certainly never book again with trip central.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Fourth visit!

We visited for a fourth time from June 2-9 2018. Even though the resort is under construction, we still had an enjoyable time. Food is always great and service was actually better than two previous years. Just a bit disappointed that we received no "special" welcome back mention. Will definelty go back once construction is complete.

Grand Sirenis Tropical Suites: Nice Resort but Seaweedy Beach

Extremely clean resort didn't see any garbage flying around. Almost all staff was friendly and nice except for 1 or 2. Water park is OK. Casino is very small only had blackjack and roulette with a few VLT. Good drinks and good food. Very nice rooms Good WiFi signal within most of resort Beach was nice but lots of seaweed Nice resort

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: Wonderful vacation!

The grounds were beautiful! The rooms were very nice. Had some difficulty communicating with some employees since they are not all bilingual. Room service was a 45 minute wait which was the only way to get ice delivered to our room. Therefore, we went to the reception desk & picked it up there. We were extremely happy that we booked the "Adults Only" resort within the complex. Food was excellent at most restaurants & buffets. We went Sunday - Sunday & met "Carlo Mercedes", the overall Manager [... read more] of our resort, on Wednesday. He was fantastic & made our holiday great. We wish we had met him on Sunday. I encourage anyone going to ask to meet him when they arrive in order to have a great support person if you need one!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Paradise Achieved

This was our family’s first, but not last, all-inclusive!! Esmeralda’s grounds were stunning, the flora so lush, colourful and varied. I felt like I was waking up in paradise every morning. The restaurants were just as beautiful with excellent service. The service in the buffets, which were always busier, was adequate but not awful. The pools and beach area continued the paradise vibe. By the end of the week we had the whole butler/ room service thing figured out. For example, sometimes getting a bucket of ice took 5 minutes or over an hour; a face cloth took 5 hours one day. We were lucky to have one in the first place as our friends didn’t even start with one. LOL. Nonetheless, all staff was very eager to please. A ton of fun evening entertainment that was perfect for us over 50. Our kids (ages 17-21) got bored by the disco and casino mid-trip. You can be as busy or relaxed as you want here. Overall, we highly recommend this resort and hope to come back again.

Majestic Elegance Punta Cana: Vacation of a lifetime!

My family and I have so much to say about this resort! First off, our agent Kateryna was the best in helping us plan this trip! We went to the resort from June 21-28. When we arrived to the resort everything was handled so smoothly from our baggage to check in. After check in, we saw the rooms and they were beautifully decorated and clean. The staff at Flavours were also one of our favourite parts of our trip! Our usual staff Carlos Doñe, Jorge Luis, Rigoberto itol, Luis Galay and Franklin were absolutely amazing! They made every breakfast and lunch lively, relaxing and provided excellent service all the time. Also, Masiel Jizordo and Yadari and Wanda who would greet us and show us to our tables always made us feel welcome and were so kind! Furthermore, the restaurants options for dinner were amazing and we absolutely loved 9 doors and Il Bottacio. On our anniversary we had dinner at Lim. Gourmand and Pastor decorated the table and absolutely blew us away with the service they provided for our anniversary night! Francisco and Felix who served us during Dominican night were so helpful. Everyone at this resort are doing their best to give the best service and it shows! The entertainment group are awesome and always trying to get people to be involved which is great for people that want to have fun! Cheeky monkey and Sunday Romero are fun and know how to dance! The beach is beautiful and the water was amazing. The only downside was the seaweed on the beach but the resort did the best they could to clean up the beaches and it got better. The drinks were great and my daughter loved the Sammy Sosa drink and I would recommend the Majestic drink and Miami Vice! Everyone at the resort made our second vacation in Punta Cana perfect! We will be returning to this resort again! And we thank the resort for making our vacation worth it!

VIK Hotel Arena Blanca: Amazing and wonderful and clean resort

The hotel is clean furnished and equipped with everything to make you comfortable. The ground was well maintained and clean. Dining area, was well organised and clean with very polite servers and cooks. I give this hotel four stars. Best vacation spot ever.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Resort not what I expected

Stayed at the iberostar Dominicana for 2 weeks. Grounds and hotel was very clean. However I would not have given it more than a 3star. Rooms very outdated. The food was very repetitive we ate the same things for breakfast lunch and supper everyday big disappointment. Lastly things went missing from our room.

Iberostar Waves Dominicana: Pass on this one

This was my second visit to Iberostar Dominicana. It was for friend's a destination wedding. Unfortunately it was not a great experience at all. When we landed we were greeted by friendly staff who checked us in. They said that since this was our second visit to the resort they upgraded us to the Jr. suites. Thinking this was a nice gesture we accepted and unfortunately things went downhill from there. When we arrived at the room it was very outdated and the floors and bathroom was dirty [... read more]. We went back to the front desk asking for a standard room fearing all of the Jr. suites would be the same. Of course none were available which explains why were upgraded. They said that we would have to wait until the following day at 3pm to change our room. We agreed however did ask for a room with a stand-up shower. The next day at 3pm we go to the front desk and they gave us the new keys. We walk back to the room and it was filthy, they hadn't finished cleaning the room after the last guest checked out and also it didn't have a stand-up shower. We walk back to the front desk and after a long discussion get to speak to the manager who tells us a new room will be available after 5pm. Go back at 5pm and finally after the third try get the room that we requested. Food is largely catered to their main demographic of guests which is European. It was quite bland and boring, since there are minimal changes to the menu throughout the week. Since staff are clearly biased to favor their main customer base, expect longer wait times and poor service even if you tip in comparison to their core demographic. They also appeared to be severely understaffed most notably in their transport team (cart service) since we were there for a wedding we relied heavily on the carts to move around from resort to resort however wait times exceeded 30 minutes at times. This was ridiculous considering the wedding party was under time constraints. It also resulted in a horrible incident where one of the wedding guests needed to get back to their room to take their medication however due to the wait time ended up having to go to the hospital because their situation had progressed to a dangerous state. Overall would not be going back to any Iberostar resorts and probably won't be traveling to the Dominican again.

The words can't explain the great experience we had at the Luxury Bahia Principe Ambar Green the food the people everthing was perfect on this trip i strongly recommend for anyone to go there for it will be a trip you wont regret we will be bavk for my wifes birtgday in November

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Good Resort could Improve

Going to try and make this short. Stayed June 24th-July1.2017 Travelled with my wife and my 2.5 year old Daughter. Have been to Punta Cana twice prior to this trip. Resort is nice castle and grounds very well kept. This resort connects to two other resorts that you have access to some facilities at beware though no access to any of the other neighboring buffets. So if you don't secure a la carte reservations you will have the choice of two buffets or room service which gets pretty boring when yo [... read more]u eat breakfast and lunch at either or daily. Very hard to get reservations for a la carts at decent time once you check in we were able to secure two one at the Italian and the second at the restaurant by the beach Las Olas. (Another Buffet) not bad but don't like the reservation format they should make it clear how to make reservations before you go. They say to use the app but you can’t use the app until you are checked in and by the time you are checked in there is very few spots left and none at others. Everyone says email the resort prior but no email is listed anywhere I could find to make the reservations. We did get sick off the food, I was sick from the beef at Garden Circus and my wife was sick from the salmon at garden circus. Didn’t get hand food mouth my daughter was fine. As long as you make sure to sanitize your child’s hands before they enter the restaurant or feed them a snack at the pool I think they should be fine. At all the restaurants the staff are waiting with hand sanitizer which I thought was a good thing. Pools were never closed when we were there. Beach had a lot of sea weed but I think that was from recent storm not usually like that. Casino was okay but is at the neighboring hotel, Small in size has a few slots and few tables. Pools were good however the whole thing about reserving the chairs is correct you need to go out before you go to breakfast if you have any hope of getting one in the shade or with an umbrella. If you want the tent ones you probably need to be up at 6am. Free Wi-Fi is good you have to re login every couple of days but service is good. One negative I did have was we went for the family photo session photographer was great pictures were good but prices to buy them were just crazy. If you wanted to by all 50 pictures they took it would have cost $800us and that is just to burn them to a disc. We bought 15 for $150. They won’t barter on the price either. My advice don’t get the photo-shoot that way you won’t want to buy any. We really wanted the photos but I was not going to pay $800 US for 50 photos on a CD. Also almost positive the guy at the pool that convinced us to do the photo shoot said we could buy them all for $150 which is reasonable but that was not the case. I know when we stayed at a different resort we did the photo shoot and bought them all for $150. Also one other thing to mention is don’t worry about brining pool toys beach toys etc. as they have stands that sell some buy the pool and they are priced reasonable. Other negative was they have a sign on the mini bar in the room saying if you want the mini bar refilled more than once a day it is subject to an extra charge, I feel this should not be the case if paid for all inclusive. All in all not bad for a family resort I wouldn’t go as a couple if you don’t have kids.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Great experience

Food, amenities, entertainment were all great. They had activities for all groups and ages. Nightly shows were fairly good. We Enjoyed the Michael Jackson show. Seaweed at beach was a bit of a nuisance. Definetly suggest to explore the alcart restaurants especially the Italian.

Riu Republica: Awesome Resort

The hotel was fantastic with beautiful landscape and colourful flowers.The restaurants were fabulous with so much variety .The culture and people were fabulous.I would recommend this resort to fellow family and colleagues.

The room and washroom are really spacious and very clean.Very picturesque resort and we loved our stay there.The pools are great and the staff are very friendly. The spa is good and the a la carte options are great. Enough beach beds and pool beds. Even after 10am you can still find empty beach beds and they serve food and drinks at the beach. Also buggy service to go to various properties and easy access to various shows and activities.
