Barcelo Maya Colonial: Huge resort

Upon arrival, the Barcelo is very impressive. Well maintained and clean, and service at the desk is excellent. The room had one of the most uncomfortable beds I've ever slept in. Much better value and beaches in Cuba. I doubt I'll return.

Akumal Bay Beach and Spa Resort: First Class Resort

Rooms clean and modern, Food in all restaurants good, location excellent, service at the hotel was excellent. Entertainment mediocre. Beach beautiful when seaweed is not there. Bar service very good. Long Bus ride from airport 1.5 hours.

Barcelo Maya Colonial: Beautiful Resort!

My husband and my 9 year old son really enjoyed our time at the resort. The place was grand and the customer service was fantastic. The drinks were amazing, I highly recommend the mojitos. We loved the size of the place and the variety of places to go, such as the variety of restaurants and the access to all spots inside the resort. The beach was a little rocky in places, but there was always chairs available on the beach. The rooms were quite big and well kept. The only complaint I had was the food. I was very disappointed in the food. They had a theme every night and one night was seafood night. They had a mountain of over cooked lobster. It was terrible. Some nights the food was better but the snack bars were usually hot dogs and fries. The restaurants we made reservations at were much better and the service was great.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Anazing resort?

My boyfriend and I had spent 7 days here at the Sian Ka’an Resort, and all I can say is it was a 7 days well spent!!! The food and service from all the workers was truly awesome, nothing but smiles on not only ours but everyone’s face’s. Not a single moment had we been disappointed, every minute, every bite, and every sip from our drinks was PARADISE. Shuttle Cars every 10 minutes, to and from the beach/other parts of the resort. Live Performances at night, and it’s next to impossible to not have such an amazing time here. Organizing games by the pool and bringing us all into a group of loving and happy tourists! Delmar, Diego, Edler, Ricardo, Julio, Gabby and Sadie... Grand Palladium Kantenah: Amazing staff

Amaizing staff, they made our stay! Especially Lily, Yuliana, Uziel, Kevin, and Salvador. They made the place seem like Home and their energy and happiness was contagious. We will definitely be coming back! I loved going to every activity they held and they made me become a very outgoing person willing to try new things

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Beautiful resort

Everything about the resort was top notch and beautiful. The room was big and always made so clean my the workers. You can never get tired of the food at the main buffet, and there are many other restaurants around to keep things different. The staff is also very friendly. I recommend staying at the adults only section because there are always special events being held in the pool. Only disappointment was their poor selection of beers

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Love this resort

Beautiful resort, great food, amazing service, very friendly staff, very clean, very nice beach. We have been to Bahia Principe Akumal 8 times and always love going back, never boring, always so much fun. 😍

Hotel Marina El Cid Spa and Beach Resort: Great Hotel and fantastic food

Location: 35mins from Cancun airport, a bit longer if there are other drops Resort: nice buildings all well maintained, clean rooms, well stocked with towels, shampoo etc. in room safe, flat screen tv, A/c fan, pull out double murphy bed, big balcony, very good water pressure in rooms for showers, no issues at all. Get Ocean view rooms, we were in block 12, get 2nd floor and higher, there are elevators in each block. Good room services, quick. Pro’s: Excellent food in all restaurants, tons [... read more] of sea food, loved the Italian restaurant, excellent Sword fish, white chocolate pudding, calamari and clam chowder, good service, get private room if big group, Dolores market place – the best, tons of choice loved the Risotto, crab dish, beef tacos, t-bone steaks, kids loved fresh crepes and desserts. Good service at pools and beach for drinks, Pool is open till 10pm, that’s a bonus, Shows: Fantastic! Each one is better than the next. Favorite was Retro 80’s. Beach: Lots of outdoor showers all over, hamocks, beach chairs, shade etc, Very good Spa and gym for those requiring a work out. Pools/Jacuzzi: there are so many to chose from, kids love the slides and jumping from the top. Lots of chairs and shade, good pool bar. Many pool activities to keep everyone busy. Very nice kids club, lots of table tennis tables all around the resort. Dolphin place: just a short 5 mins walk, can swim with them at a cost. Cons: Beach has rocks, not good for kids or if no water shoes. Very disappointed that we didn’t go in the ocean as we normally do. Wifi- would be nice to have complimentary wifi in the lobby. Heard that paid wifi was not that good. Overall very good, would highly recommend for everyone.

Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Beautiful Resort

We had an amazing time at Now Sapphire. We had amazing interactions with the staff, good food and the smaller resort size made for an excellent vacation! We attended a wedding at the resort and it was beautiful and well organized.

Barcelo Maya Palace: Would Return Again!

Stayed here for 5 days with my 14 year old son. Reception went well. Rooms were very clean and stocked every day. Pool was huge and the sea was beautiful. The buffets were very good and loved the resturants! The Rodizio was our favorite. We went there 2 times. Clean resort and nice staff.

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Overall good resort

First time in Mexico. August 14 to 19 for my Birthday. Grounds, public areas and rooms are very nice. We tried 4 a la carte restaurants ( French, Mexican, Stake and Seafood) and all were good. People, worker's on the resort are nice and cheerful. The beach looks nice, but the ocean is full of seaweeds. The water is shallow and you have to walk through seaweeds, which is not pleasant. Pool : Very nice pools, pretty clean, but very crowded on a weekends as all guest are in the water and very few can go to the ocean and it was hot! hot! Pool water was hot as well. Also, I didn't like that people eat on the pool. The grounds around the pool look and get dirty , plus the birds and animals are coming for food. Entertainment: Quite good during the day. Little disappointed how the show stage is plane, but the dancers were OK. Management:My husband lost his band, as he ripped it of the pool walls ( you have to climb to exit, there are few steps only and far from the beach side and shade), and couldn't find it. We had to pay. I think that was not aright way to do it., They should take our explanation in the consideration. Overall we had very nice time, as I was with my kids and husband for a big reason. I would recommend this resort partially. For food , stay and entertainment for example.

Grand Sunset Princess: Beautiful Resort!

First impression when I got to the Princess is this resorts architecture is absolutely beautiful! We were welcomed with drinks and a big smile. Staff is very nice, some more than others. A go to person who helped us a LOT during this trip is Miguel. Bartenders are very fun, one in particular is Abdiel. Pool temperature is great, activities are good, the food too, my friend and I loved the breakfast! I would have so many more good things to say about this resort. It was definitely a great 1st experience in Mexico!

Ocean Riviera Paradise: Totally awesome place to be!!

What a wonderful experience we had at Ocean Reviera Paradise. My two teenagers and myself enjoyed the experience so much that we definately want to return some day soon. Hopefully when there is no sea weed problem at the beach. :) We felt safe and I found comfort in knowing how safe the place was as they enjoyed time with friends. There was always someone from the resort walking around. They seemed to be working around the clock. Seeing how long they worked in the hot sun, servicing everyone and to still manage their smile and have such energy made me have more respect for them. Two thumbs up for the ALL the employees at Ocean Reviera Paradise!! One thing that would be nice to see is a teenager night club. Where teenagers can go dance and have fun. Teenagers (ages 13 to 19 or even those just turning 20) want a place to go dance within the resort. In the rooms there should be at least 2 blankets left in the room for those that want to be extra warm from the air condition. The shower floor in the rooms need to be looked at. The water seems to leak out while showering and sometimes flows outside the bathroom. I like that you added a scale in the rooms. It's good to know how much your luggage weighs after you purchase other things to bring home. "Or ourselves after we've eaten so much throughout the day" lol. And to not forget to say... The Food was Delicious!!! The chefs and cooks did such a wonderful job. Iberostar Waves Quetzal: Great holiday!

We had a fantastic time at the Iberostar Quetzal. Grounds were beautiful, food and drinks were good, entertainment was good and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There are lots of mosquitoes so bring repellent. Our room was quite small, but we were okay with that, the pool is deep so bring floaties. Unfortunately we did have lots of seaweed, but we knew that beforehand so we did not let that bother us. We really enjoyed our stay and would stay there again in the future.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Not so great resort

Very unorganized hotel and bad service. Just went there for our honeymoon August 2018. They did not have a room for us even though we booked through trip central and had no note of us being on our honeymoon. Trip central did advise Bahia Principe but they were oblivious when arriving there. Stained sheets on bed when freshly made by maids and a lot of kids. I have been to other Bahia Principe properties but this was the worse one yet. I do not recommend going there.

Allegro Playacar: Ok resort beautiful beach

I would only recommend this hotel if you are on a travel budget. I didnt like being harassed by staff every day in lobby to look at time shares. We had to sneak by the staff at times just to get away from them.Great location in playacar..safe walking distance to plays del carmen...beautiful beach

Dreams Tulum Resort and Spa: Dreams? Ugh! More like nightmare

I was so excited to be going to this resort. It looked spectacular in the pictures and I liked the fact that it was a smaller resort. We flew with Sunwing; That was our first mistake. When we finally arrived at the resort we were hot, tired and hungry. (I travelled with my 5 year old alone) Shocker!!!!! No reservations on file. I showed them all my paperwork, receipts, bookings and they couldn't care less. It was awful. We sat for almost 3 hours waiting for a rep from Sunwing to call and confirm [... read more] the reservation; even though I had the paper proof in my hand!!! The Sunwing rep was awful; she just kept saying 'give them your credit card and pay for it and we will sort it out later....ummmm I already paid nearly $4000 for this trip so NO! I felt bullied as they wouldn't give any other solution other than pay again and pray that it works out. At this point my son and I were both crying so I finally gave in and gave them my credit card. Room was nice but not what I had booked; food was ok; beach was full of seaweed and you couldn't swim there. You couldn't get a lounge chair; it was a free for all! No limit for towels so people were taking huge amounts and getting loungers at the beach and at both sides of the pool. It was ridiculous!!! You could see people running out around 5am grabbing chairs and towels. I sat on the concrete at the pool all week; that was not a 5 star experience. I wouldn't go back to this hotel nor would I recommend it to a friend. And if "Dreams" thinks its ok to treat their guests that way; I will never stay at any of their resorts.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Aweful customer service, room quality poor

Awefull experience, had leaks in 2 differnt rooms and a power outage on top of it. They think a braclet for 2 days is sufficient compensation. They would not respond to my written complaint( leak in bathroom so bad, I had a slip and hurt my back) didn' respond until I used the word lawyer. Would not go back and would not recomend , 5 star hotel with 1 star customer service

Ocean Maya Royale: Very nice resort

We recently stayed at Ocean Maya Royale for 10 days. We loved our experience, excellent food, friendly staff, fun entertainment. The only negative aspect is the presence of algue on the beach but workers do their best daily to clean it up. Water temperature is very nice. Algue is present all along the coast this year.

Allegro Playacar: Budget holiday

We booked this hotel strictly on price and the fact it is in the Playacar area of Playa del Carmen. Our main reason for going to Mexico in August was to see the whale sharks which are in the area at this time of year. Because of the expense of this excursion we decided on a budget friendly resort. We have stayed at the Allegro in Cozumel in the past and expected that it would be a similar experience, which it was. The resort is small so there are no long walks to get to any of the pools, resta [... read more]urants, bars or the beach. The rooms are small but clean and the resort itself is clean with nice gardens. The location is a 15 minute walk to 5th Avenue in Playa del Carmen as well as being on one of the nicest stretch of beach in the Riviera Maya, in my opinion. Overall the food was fine. Not terrific but certainly plenty of choices. The worst part I found was that they attach a "shark " to you at check in that will hound you to visit their location next door to the resort that is their premier resort. They want you to become a loyalty member, at a price, to receive future benefits as a member. Annoying as hell. All in all a decent resort for the money
