Cayo Levantado Resort: Tropical Paradise

I was pleasantly surprised. The grounds at the resort are immaculate. It is very lush, the beach is small but we never had a problem finding chairs in the sun or shade under the many palm trees. The drinks are very good, and the service is excellent. The hotel is spread out so there is a lot of walking, or if you prefer you can take a cart around the resort.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Fantastic Holiday - Great Resort

My wife and I recently spent a wonderful week at Cayo Levantado with 3 other couples. We have been to the Dominican Republic many times in the past, a number of which were Bahia Principe resorts. I must say, this was my favourite spot. The island setting is incredible. We were all looking forward to a week of relaxation and "getting away from work", and the Cayo Levantado did just that. The people  [... read more]there are very friendly, although there is a bit more of a language issue at this hotel than I have noticed at some of the other resorts that we have stayed at. We never had to search for someone to help us with directions, get a drink, etc. They were always there for us. The restaurants were very good, especially the Rodizio. I would highly recommend that you book this one a couple of times during your stay. The food was excellent, and plentiful. The Don Pablo is also a must during your stay. The morning buffet was very good, especially if you have the chefs make you up a special omelet or something else to your liking. Service by the staff was excellent. The grounds were beautiful. It didn't take you long to walk to anywhere, but if walking is not your thing, the tramcars were always there to take you to where you wanted to go. The paths were well kept and the greenery was immaculate. Lots to do around the beach. Kayaking and paddle boards are available every day (and included in the package). Lots of fun and a good workout if you have the desire to try to kayak around the entire island. We did the Zip Line adventure in Samana and it was excellent. It was my first time zip lining but the others that went had all done it before and said it was the best zip lining they had ever done. Good long runs (and many of them). The balance of the trip was very interesting as you got to see a lot of Dominican culture on your tour back to the resort. In speaking with other guests that we met, all of the tours (especially whale watching) were excellent value for your money. Overall, a VERY good trip and an excellent resort. People can always find fault in every place you stay, but there is very little to complain about at the Cayo Levantado. We will definitely look at coming back, and I have been preaching the virtues of this resort to friends and colleagues ever since I returned. Wish I was still there!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great resort!

Very large complex, extremely well kept, excellent service with good food, pools are very large and clean but cold, bartenders are friendly and do a great job. rooms are nice and large and very clean with everything working, maid service is excellent.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Hard to Beat Views

There isn't really anything bad I can say about this resort. I have stayed at many resorts including Hard Rock in Punta Cana and this one was my faviourite. The views are just breathtaking and can't be beat. Because you are in a bay the ocean is always very calm, warm and great for swimming. The food was great and they always had a great selection. The one gourmet restaurant was by far the best and had the best steak I have ever had. We were in one of the villas which meant lots of stairs betwee [... read more]n us and everything else but the shuttles were pretty good so it wasn't too much of an issue. If you were older the stairs might be a problem but so long as you are in the main building you should be fine. The night shows were pretty good and they do have a Disco at night that I never went to but obviously places like Hard Rock would be better if you like the party scene but this place was perfect for us. Also even though the hotel was sold out, there was never more than maybe 10 people in the pool, almost never had any trouble finding a seat in the shade at the pool or the beach, and there was never a wait for the restaurants. Also the fact that the resort is right off the city is awesome and very different from any other resort I have ever been to. I will 100% be going back to this resort!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great resort - treated like royalty !

Rooms were extraordinary. Food was the best I've had at a resort - eating lamb, duck and lobster - even for lunches ! Staff were very friendly and professional. We travelled with Tripcentral and Air Canada - they looked after us - everything was taken care of - excellent service. Only complaint I have for the resort is the chair reservations at the beach - the only way to get a lounge chair overlooking the ocean at the beach was to go reserve a chair at 4am. Even around the pool - there were a l [... read more]ot of chairs, but only way to get an umbrella was to go reserve it at 7:30 am. The resort should not allow this to happen.

Beautiful resort...close to beach...lots to do..nice rooms...especially the large bathrooms...good food...al carts okay...beach was clean..the staff were all great...they really love kids...both pools were nice...lots of great evening entertainment ...

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: A great time

This resort was exceptional in every way. Super clean, the staff could not do enough for you. Can't wait to return. We were very happy with all the restaurants we went to. If any suggestion would be a easy place to get lunch while at the pool.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Trip to Punta cana

Fantastic resort, great food,very clean rooms, very friendly staff, eager to please, our second time there and hope to return next year!!!i would highly recommend this resort , beautiful white sandy beaches, lots of excursions available if you wish to do so, and much great entertainment during the day around the pools and on the beach. Plenty of entertainment in the evenings in the theatre or main lobbys

Beautiful hotel and grounds...very clean, great location, nice beach with snorkeling. Good food, lots of selection and many a la cartes to choose from. Service was good...everyone was friendly. Easy to get around with shuttles. Overall a great resort with lots to do for kids and adults.

Hotel is for adult only. 2 sections with Pools (one near the beach, other further but excellent for afternoon quiet time. Great restaurants. Many to choose from. Excellent service everywhere from staff.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Terrible Management. Lame beach

We were disappointed that the beach didnt really give us that ocean feeling. All waves blocked off by barriers . Under construction. Not much area to swim. There's rocks that's block people in and you can't swim beyond. Management was terrible When we asked to be moved Becaue our room Was wet and right in front of the pool IT took three days . The tub didn't totally drain itself. The second day we were there we were woken up at 2:00 am asking if we used the tub becaue there was a leak. Then we g [... read more]ot a call another night @6:00 am for no reason .. We asked for a wake up call at 8:00 am ... Crazy. Then to get room service it's 45 minutes and up. They don't even serve pizza after 11:00 pm just nuggets that are brown from the refuted oils . They tasted like pastic from probably being heated. Management didn't seem to care... We revived 5 calls in 1 hour to confirm we received coffee and water to our room. Becaue conciege and front desk computer are not linked ... Terrible!!!!!! Will not go back!!! The only good part was this one cook heard me say I never tried ackee and salt fish and he took come more out

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Great trip!

The grounds are beautiful. Beach and pools are great. The man-made lagoon is full of fish and fun for kids. Lots of neat creatures around for kids to see (e.g., pelicans, iguanas, coatimundi).It's a large resort, but you can hop on a tram anywhere. Drinks were great and the food was decent. Always options available for vegetarians. It's about 1.5 hours from the airport.Check in was quick, but check out took a long time (only one person was working).

The hotel staff were very friendly. The food was good. We had some issues with our room on the night of arrival. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Pillows were not comfortable and need to be changed.

Beautiful grounds and rooms in brand new building. Staff was friendly and would try to provide anything you asked for. Food was good and we had no problem getting reservations at the a la carte retaurants for each night (as long as you are a bit flexible with times). Only drawback is the man made beach with a break water wall along beach, not much room to walk along the water.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent Vacation Resort!

The resort was great, check in was easy and well organized. Food was good, but not labeled very well (too vague). A la carte food was good too. Be sure to ask for the Teppanyaki table when visiting Mikado, as some hotel reps won't inform you of the difference. For the most part everything was great, including the rooms, food, drinks, staff and transportation!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Great Family Resort

As all the Bahia Resorts, the grounds were immaculate. A true family resort, lots of kids for our kids to play with, giving us time to relax. We enjoyed the pool and the beach areas. The kids club team was great, they knew our kids in two days, and the activities they offered were fun. The food is good, the kids seem to prefer the buffet over the a la carte. My only suggestion for improvement would be an actual night show for the kids. They had disco nights at 8:30pm. Our kids were passed out most nights at this time from all the playing and fresh air!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Wonderful Holiday

Second time at this resort but we stayed in the punta cana section the first time and decided to try Ambar. Best decision .We were 7 people and had 4 rooms , 2 in Ambar 1 and 2 in Ambar 2 despite having requested all rooms in Ambar 1 because we are all beach bums and wanted to be close to the beach. The rooms in Ambar 2 are newer than 1 but both were equally beautiful. Check in is done at the Ambar 3 lobby (this is only a lobby - there is not an Ambar3 section). They checked us all in together a [... read more]s a group and the girl that checked us in was not very friendly. Fortunately it was the only time this happened during our 7 days there. All staff no matter where you were , beach , lobby etc went out of their way to accommodate us. We were beside the Ambar 2 pool and the only time we were there was when we would walk through it to get to the beach. It was like walking through a cemetery it was so quiet. Ambar 1 pool on the other hand was very busy and not so quiet when we walked through it on our way to the beach. We had to get up every morning before 6 and get a palapa because we wanted shade and if you don't you wont get a chair let alone shade. By 7 oclock you wont get one and by 8 good luck finding a chair. There are guys on the beach with yellow shirts that brush the sand off your chair all day long and they will find you a chair if you cant find one. The waiters on the beach are very friendly and work very hard running up and down the beach to get drinks for you . The beach is amazing and hardly any seaweed all week and if there was it was raked up very quickly. I had e-mailed the resort ahead of time for a la cartes reservations but didn't have any when we got there but had no problem booking 3 for the 7 of us although I did hear other people saying that they could not get any.The restaurant by the beach was our go to for lunch. They bbq'd every day , chicken pork , beef and burgers. The buffets were nice and we found that the Ambar 2 buffet better and less busy. All 3 a la cartes we went to were very good and a change from the buffet. We walked around a lot at night checking out all the lobbys and found entertainment in every lobby (seems like they rotate from one lobby to the other ) so you never know what is where and in what lobby. We tried to go to the Micheal Jackson show but it was so crowded we could not get in but sat outside and listened so if you want to go, go early. We did not go to any other show so can't comment on them. We did go to the pueblo principe a lot for shopping and once at night where they had a band and people were dancing.We had blast and wanted to return but ran out of time. If you are thinking about booking this resort don't hesitate. Champagne for breakfast , caviar ,sushi ,lobster for dinner , great a la cartes , great drinks, beautiful rooms , great weather. One thing I will say though, when we were booking we noticed that all the sections were pretty much the same price.If you don't have kids choose the Ambar it is much less crowded and you have more room at the beach. They are packed like sardines in the other sections. There is no way this resort can expand anymore because of the limited beach space unless they build to the left where there seems to be space between the next resort. We loved this resort and hope that we can return soon for a third visit.

Had an incredible time, everything was above my expectations. Value for the price was excellent. The grounds were well maintained, rooms were spacious and comfortable, staff were very nice, food was great, definitely going back.

We stayed at this resort from Feb. 2-9th. Outstanding staff, resort and service. We could not ask for anything more. Staff were plesant and respectful and attended to all your needs and wants. Transportation from the airport and Check in was flawless. No issues at all. We stayed in villa #53 (close to main lobby). Grounds and beach are kept immaculate. No debris or unkept areas. Abundance of food at the Buffet... Lots to choose from ... Food quality was excellent. Ana at the buffet was fantastic and looked after us very well. Lovely smile and service day or night. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone as we would return back to Akumal with our family.
