Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Fantastic resort !

Totally enjoyed Melia Caribe! It`s a beautiful resort! Very clean and well kept! The staff is very pleasant! The food is fantastic and there is just so much variety! The Level Adult section is great! This is my second time and I will go again!

Hotel Vigia: Great Resort!

The resort was wonderful. The staff were very nice and accommodating. The beach and ocean were beautiful. The pool was nice and the food was good. I would definitely recommend this resort to everyone.

Starfish Cayo Largo: Amazing resort

Excellent staff, beach, grounds, service, food, entertainment, and weather at Christmas/New Year and March Break. Great walking, swimming, snorkelling, sites, excursions, and short distance from airport.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: wonderful resort with fantastic staff!!!

Although I haven't been to many resorts I did enjoy my time here. The people were so friendly and always trying to accommodate you. The grounds were beautiful although the paths and walkways were a little dark at night. The food at the buffet was good but the a LA cart restaurants were nothing special for food choices. Melia Las Dunas: Fantastic resort

Beautiful, breath taken amazing,you must see this resort to believe it . Service is great,friendly and eager to please. The food in the buffets and a la cart is world class,much better and healthier than I eat at home. The beaches are so beautiful you forget that there are magnificent pool just feet away from your room. During our 5 th visit to this resort my wife and I decided two weeks just wasn't enough for this winter,so we decided to return for another two weeks a month latter, jan. Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Disappointing - this is not a 4 star hotel!

The best thing about Cuba has always been the people! The staff at the hotel were very friendly and helpful without exception. Amazing people! I was very disappointed with the hotel overall. We arrived late ( 4 am) due to bad weather at home and were not able to even brush our teeth as there was no drinking water in the room. Two calls to the front desk yielded nothing. In the morning I noticed that I had slept in used sheets - the chamber maid fixed this problem immediately.We used the same bee [... read more]ch towel for the week because we were told that it was difficult for them to do laundry. We went 5 days without hot water - At 63 I am too old to take cold showers! I travel a lot and this is my 5th trip to Cuba; I found the food lacking. Perhaps this is due to the distance that the trucks have to go to deliver fresh food. Over the years I have found that the food in Cuba had improved greatly at the other hotels I have stayed in. This was not the case here. Even the 'a la carte' restaurants were bland and often were unable to provide what was on the menu. The weather was perfect. The beach was not on par with the beaches say in Varedero. There was a 'hill' of sand in front of the hotel that had to be climbed or walked around. I know this had nothing to do with the hotel itself but I would caution anyone with back, hip or walking problems as there was also a strong undertow and we found that it was sometimes very difficult to get out of the water. We were unable to get a place on the beach until day 3 as all shaded areas and chairs were taken. We were finally advised that one had to go down at 7 am to secure a spot. I am trying to be very honest - I paid for a 4 and a 1/2 star hotel and wouldn't give it a 3 star rating. Don't bother with the Elegance club: -we did get a welcome drink but no cold towel -dedicated room location ????? I was very happy with the location of our room as it was very quiet. -beach towels, bath robes and slippers NO -turn down service NO -20% discount on SPA treatments - I did get the discount because I had a massage - but my travel companion did not because I guess a facial and hair treatment doesn't count???????????????????? - Exclusive concierge ---- not sure what this means -BarbQ party - didn't go -Manager's cocktail party - - - missed that ????

Melia Las Dunas: No surprises - Expectations met

This was the second time at this resort, for the price this resort exceeded our expectations. The rooms were a little worn down then the last time we were there. That being said the rooms beds and sheets were clean and well stocked with water and supplies. We enjoyed our stay and would return. The food quality and selection at this resort was great. you could always find something to eat. Staff were friendly and service was good. Melia Las Dunas: Amazing resort

This was our first time at this particular part of Cuba and we really enjoyed our stay at the Melia Las Dunas. It is an amazing resort with the beautiful grounds and colourful gardens. Loved the adult section and stayed in room 4413 ground floor which overlooked the adult pool but had no particular view because of the bushes and garden growth but great because of its privacy and quietness. Room excellent size with dressing area, sink area and separate bathroom area. It had king size bed and sofa [... read more] sitting area. Buffet restaurant meals acceptable with plenty of choice. Loved the ice cream parlour. Entertainment was good with plenty going on if you want it. Beach beautiful with plenty of sand area to sunbathe and the ocean was warm and gentle for swimming. This is a large resort with plenty of walking and did not feel overcrowded even at the March break week. This area of Cuba is well worth the long drive from the airport. Just do it!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Melia Cayo Guillermo...Great Setting-Tired Resort

My wife and I just returned from from a week at this resort. The basic facilities are rundown and tired. The wharf is "closed" as it is weather-worn and unsafe. Each of the main water displays, a fountain and waterfall, do not work. Our room felt and looked like an old motel room. The maid assigned to the room did a great job keeping the clean and tidy. The food in the main eating area was not gourmet but the selection of meat and fish was outstanding in variety and preparation. Breads and othe [... read more]r baked goods were high quality. House wines were palatable. Bar service inside and outdoors was splendid. Outdoor and entertainment staff were top-notch and most friendly but indoor staff did little beyond the basics. I have never been less inclined to tip. The sun, beaches and surf were spectacular. Playa Pilar was very beautiful. The speedboat and mangrove snorkelling tour was fun and informative. The natural setting is strong draw to return to Cayo Guillermo but not to the Melã.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: FANTASTICR ESORT

We were there for a week during the school March Break. So, the place was full. We didn't feel the crowds were an issue though. We had absolutely no problem getting dinner reservations for our restaurants of choice. There were plenty of beach chairs. However, if you did want a specific area, you did have to do that early rise and secure with your personal items routine. This is an issue everywhere you travel to. It is not easily resolved. Very warm and wanting to practice their English with us. The snorkeling was spectacular. We have taken snorkeling excursion offsite at other resorts. This was far better than any of those and you could just walk right of the beach to the reef. It was beautiful! Even though I am younger than many of the visitors to the resort, there are concerns regarding some safety hazards around the resort. Many areas are not well lit up. We met several people who had fallen and were bruised and scraped from tripping over small ridges, etc. Lights at the base of trees in the major traffic areas would be beneficial. The major complaint that I had, was with our hotel transfer at the beginning. We knew that it was supposed to be a 50-60 minute drive. We love that, as we get to see a bit of the countryside and information from our guide. We were with Air Canada Vacations on this trip. When are bus started out, we found out that we were stopping at four hotels. Ours was to be the last stop. Almost two hours later, we arrived at our destination. It would have been professional to be made aware of this before booking so that we could manage our own expectations of the holiday. A few days into our trip, we spoke to the Air Canada rep. He was sorry that it worked out that way and explained that it would be better on our return to the airport. We were to be the last picked up and therefore our departure time would change. We were to check with "the book" the day before our departure that would show our change. We did that. But, no change was made. So everyone was waiting at 7:05 am for our 7:15 am pick up. Our bus arrived at almost 8:00 am. It would have be nice to be notified about this pick up time and perhaps had some breakfast before we left. So, poor communication on Air Canada's part. This is not reflection of the hotel at all. Our disappointment was with Air Canada Vacations. The Paradisus Rio de Oro was a great holiday in a beautiful location.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Fantastic resort

All round excellent resort. I give everything 5 stars with the exception of the food which I would rate as still good. Some public areas could have been slightly cleaner but this was only a minor thing.

Melia Marina Varadero: Great vacation option for the right people;)

We had an incredible time at the movie at Marina Varadero apartments and the flexibility that the European plan offered to our family was wonderful. We read about five hours of reviews beforehand and packed a lot of dried goods with us. This plan will work for you if you are aware that the selection of food is nothing like what we have at home but there are lots of options like eating in great restaurants in town or cooking something simple in your unit. There is also the option to purchase all  [... read more]inclusive day passes for the resort at 42 CUC per adult (half for kids). We enjoyed all of the walking that comes with staying at this place ...for example popping out to the store about 10 minutes each way to go and get some milk/coke for our Ron or to check at the café to see if they had any fresh bread. The apartment was beautiful with a few little quirks that we didn't even bother to complain about because who wants to complain on vacation? There is a small pool 2 to 3 times the size of the backyard pool at the apartments which we loved and the beach is breathtaking, but a good 15 min walk away - we never had any trouble finding four lounge chairs in the shade no need to head out early in the morning to reserve a spot! We had a fabulous vacation and will definitely return;)

Melia Puerto Vallarta: Loved our family vacation at Melia PV

Great trip for our family! They welcomed us with free shirts and hats for the kids. Each day our kids visited the kids club for a few hours. And they loved it there! Jessica was awesome and they made so many high quality crafts that were excellent souvenirs. Plus Lala and Regina were wonderful with our 1 year (he stayed with them 3 hours each day for naps plus babysitting one night when we wanted to stay out later). The restaurants and buffets had great variety. Our Kid and Co room was perfect f [... read more]or our family of 5, although next time we might upgrade to a suite so that we have more adult privacy! :) The activities by the pool (games led by Raul and Christian) were fun - we won twice!! And the music and shows were great too. Only thing they need to improve on is timing of kids show - 9pm was too late! and Lunch in the nicer restaurant starts at 1pm but my kids were starving by 12noon! We plan to visit again and try another Melia if it has the same high quality kids activities.

Melia Marina Varadero: Good Experience w Melia Marina

Very clean. Staff very friendly and helpful. Surprised though they didn't speak more english! The food was OK. Coffee was excellent! We stayed in the apartments which was nice as it was away from the crowded areas.

Memories Cayo Largo: Beautiful Beach

The beach at this resort is spectacular! They also offer shuttle services to nearby beaches which were also beautiful and quite deserted for March break. The buffet could use some serious work, I could not say enough terrible things about it. Even the staff working in it are very cold. That being said there are other restaurants on the resort that have wonderful staff and wonderful food. The resort itself is beginning to be somewhat dated but is still very clean and the grounds are well maintained. We went because of the beach and we will be going back because of the beaches as well.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: 4 1/2 star...I don't think so Tim.

Patio Door had no locks Bathroom door would not shut No chairs in our room to sit on in room AC was noisy, couldn't sleep Food...meh. Should be rated 3 star, different expectations Luckily, we got to move when they were oversold

Hotel Vigia: Great Resort, Excellent Beach!

Just returned from Sol Cayo Mar 22/15. Food was great, the beach was excellent and the staff were amazing. We had an oceanview room view away from the main areas so was very quiet. Would definitely return.

Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Fantastic Beach

The resort is older but everything is clean. I go there for the beach and ocean view. The food is average Cuban fare. My only real complaint was there was very few times that they had hot water. If the beach is what you want this is definitely the place to go!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Real Cuba creeps in

The resort is quite stunning, the beach beautiful, weather amazing. Unfortunately all this is in Cuba. We were dinged for 80$ leaving Cuba as somehow, magically, my bag weighed 7 km more. This happened to many passengers but I had not bought anything except small trinkets. Many Cuban men are rude and macho. If you have a problem they get aggressive instead of helpful. And good luck trying to find a female hotel manager; there aren't any. So much for their revolution for equality.

every one from the bar tenders to the custumer service was very friendly and helpfull.they all speak very good english or they try,what more could you ask for.the grounds are clean and well maintained, when we got there ,they only had one set of public bathrooms open ,but they were always clean,and well maintained. the food was very good ,lots to choose from ,but only one ala cart resturant was available ,but we had a birthday while we were there and they did a great job ,sparkling wine ,happy b [... read more]irthday banner and his age in flower peddels on the table ,and a birthday cake with a candle ,and sang happy birthday. the beach is ammazzing. the sun was warm and the pool was great. there is always something to do there from achary to shooting ,pool or darts and more . the rooms could have a little more up dates but was cumfotable and clean we did have a little sewer smell,but we just covered the drains and we were good.
