Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach, food was even worst than expected...

Cubans are amazing people, and this is one of the reasons I go back to Cuba. I must have been to Cuba at least a dozen times in the last 20 years. I never put any expectations on food, but this time it was really bad. Cuba's hurting... If you are going for the beach, one week of relaxation, they it is still a good place to go for the price you pay. Just make sure there are many of you, as a group you will always have a good time!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Amazing beach, resort ok

This is my second time at this resort and was disappointed this time. Positives: Can't say enough about the beach, beautiful white sand, turquoise blue water and lots of beach to walk. Negatives: Did not get the room I paid for initially, thank goodness I had my hotel voucher. I had paid for an Al Fresco room with Diamond Club and they gave us the cheapest room with no Diamond Club. It was a shit show, and arguments to get the room I paid for. Room was beautiful but no hot water in the sho [... read more]wer all week. I don't know if you have ever tried to take a cold shower, it's quite unpleasant. Food: no change in menu all week. Usually we see some variety, not this time. One day there was no coffee at all. For 4 days no Cola to mix with drinks. Rum and sprit is not very good! I understand that Cuba has supply issues sometimes but I spoke to ppl from other resorts and they did not have this issue.

Grand Memories Varadero: A beautiful resort that has seen better days.

The staff were always courteous,polite and friendly.The grounds were groomed daily & all facilities were close walking distance. The food was not very desirable but I heard Cuba was know for this. Covid 19 affected everyone & this resort is showing it. For the price I paid I would go back just remember to pack more snacks.

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing Resort

We had such an amazing time in this place I really recommend it. The service good the stuff very friendly everything is perfect.The beach is amazing, shallow and the softest sand. Enjoy the beautiful view and amazing water! Also the best Pina Colada's I have ever had!

Melia Cayo Coco: Great Spot

Easy to get beds round pool. Good service and very friendly staff. Room was good with lots of hot water and good pressure. Food was a bit hit and miss but always plenty to eat. Wasn't too busy which made everything easily available

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Amazing Resort!

Beautifully maintained resort, friendly and hard working staff. Plenty of chairs at beach! Plenty of food choices at buffet, can always find something to eat. A la carte meals were excellent! Would recommend!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Memories??? You mean Playa Coco!!!!

We never made it to Memories Caribe. We were greeted at the airport in Cuba by reps from Memories and were told that we would be going to another hotel because Memories was having issues with A/C and electricity. After two moves, we ended up at Playa Coco, which is right beside Memories. The people and staff were sooooo friendly there. We will definitely go back to Playa. I have told all my friends and family about our experience. Started off bad, but ended up fantastic. Thank you to Playa Coco for everything. You were all amazing. I have seen a lot of complaints about Memories Caribe. Not good. I feel we should be compensated by Memories Caribe. Thankfully Playa Coco stepped up to the plate and totally welcomed us and made us feel like VIP all week long. Thank you soooo much Playa Coco. We really appreciate everything you did for us. The reviews below are for Playa Coco. Memories gets "Very Poor" all across the board. We won't be going back to Memories. Many of my friends won't either after hearing our experience.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great selection of food

Great selection of food is tasty beautiful resort beach is very nice a little rocky at some spots little far from downtown but if you can find someone to share a cab it cuts the cost rooms could be updated other than that the ambiance was nice very nice entertainment, the staff and musicians work hard don’t forget to tip they surely deserve it.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Don’t understand the great reviews

I am not picky, and I understand cuba is different than the rest of the Caribbean, I have been many times understanding the food and hotel quality is usually lacking. However the stunning reviews really made me think I had found a hidden gem… I did NOT! Cuba is really struggling right now economically. The food was unsanitary. Raw meat and fish sat for hours next to the hot grills with no refrigeration at all. 2/3 of the hotels on the resort shut down right before we went with zero compensati [... read more]on. The buffet they set up was tiny and my kids play better a La carte service than the food we received. The hotel room was run down, cracked bathtub, terrible grout jobs etc. again, that’s expected in cuba - but don’t call it a 5* resort. Drinks were ok. I’ve had worse in cuba for sure. Beach was stunning and the reason to keep going back over and over. None of the workers seemed like they wanted to be there. They acted very inconvenienced by every question unless they saw cash in your hand. “Butler service” needs to be clarified. I pictured lying on the beach being offered a drink or towel. This was not the case at all. The butler was a person who sat in your hotel room building and offered to book a La carte dinners. The mini bar and stocked fridge didn’t exist. It was a bottle of water once a day. I blame Sunwing for not clarifying that when they list their inclusions. They know what is a shortage in cuba right now.

Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: One Half Of Resort Closed

The Luna section is closed due to renovations. Building 5,6,7,8, is not available. This is the more quiet section.Also closed off in this area is the Luna side pool, ice cream parlour, the two A La Carte Restaurants, the smaller lounge/bar, and the snack restaurant. The Pinta eating area on the beach has been completely redone and is now open.The washrooms there have been redone also. At the other end of beach the Nina eating and bar area has been demolished and is just a hole in the ground.  [... read more]There are many upgrades on the Mares side now. Each day was a struggle to find a peaceful, quiet spot on the beach to relax and enjoy the sounds of the ocean.Groups of people forcing their load Spanish Music upon others was a constant issue. The only pool currently is the Mares, and it is a dedicated activity pool with music and microphone dialogue.

Melia Las Antillas: Needs a bit of help

The beach was amazing. Clean rooms but needs updating. Shower small, toilet didn't always flush, very dull lighting. Food was not great. Pretty much the same things for breakfast lunch and dinner. They ran out if another of things, napkins were toilet paper. Staff needs to stay on top of guests hoarding food in plastic bags. One morning 4 people from the same table took all the buns, cakes, squares and donuts!!! Wifi worked in our room the first 3 days then nothing.

Melia Las Americas: We had an amazing time!!

Staff was so friendly. Clean resort and the best was the snorkeling on the reef. Truly great vacation!! The food was okay. You have to do the out restaurants in the resort to get more variety of food. Overall I recommend this resort

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Coral level: Amazing resort section

My daughter and I liked absolutely everything about the Coral Section ( first time for us ) of the Iberostar Selection Ensenachos. The only exception was availability of certain common food items which we put down to s " sign of the times". It was the worst ever after 10 stays on Cuba , but it did in no way spoil the stay as there was always something.

Grand Memories Varadero: Amazing Resort

It was my first time in Cuba I enjoyed very much people are very friendly and the resort is beautiful. I would try it again and again. I went for a trip to Havana and it was amazing and wonderful one day visit. I loved everything about Cuba and if you are not a complaining guy I will enjoy it food wasn’t very good but you will always find something to eat I enjoyed everyday show at the resort specially Marcelina she did a great job

Playa Vista Azul: Great Resort!

I stayed at Vista Azul this past week with a few friends. The grounds, public areas and the rooms were fabulous. They were clean and well looked after. I do want to highlight how helpful and welcoming the staff at this resort were. They were prompt and always ready to help. Special mention for the resort manager Arasay! She was a delight!

Playa Costa Verde: Great Resort, Amazing Staff

This was our 7th visit.Upon arrival we were warmly welcomed by the staff My home away from home. Although the buffet was a little less desirable, there was always something to eat. The staff are amazing. Always pleasant, go the extra mile to make our stay much more fun. Thanks Roberto for my nightly spanish coffee. Perfecto!! Thank you to all the staff for making our vacation a pleasant and memorable one!! See ya soon

Barcelo Solymar: Great resort

The property is well maintained, staffs are really really friendly and helpful. Food was not that great but given the countries overall situation it was more than acceptable. The resort is only walking distance from the entertainment area/downtown.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Very clean, and comfortable resort

The hotel was modern looking. Very clean. The rooms were the best I've seen in Cuba. Beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant. Food was good, and there was plenty of variety. Store was very small, so make sure to bring everything that you need with you. Shower was luxurious, and towels were top grade. Beach was small, but we did have access to the Playa Pasquero Beach.

Barcelo Solymar: Will NOT book again AVOIDE AVOIDE AVOIDE!!!!!

Having been to Cuba over 9 times I must say this was by far the worst experience. Starting with the check-in, upon walking to the room the safe was completely broken and we had to go back and forth to the lobby and waited over 2 hours for it to get fixed causing us to miss dinner ( what a start). Woke up for breakfast super hungry since we had not eaten all night but the food was absolutely not fit to be eaten. The a la carte restaurant ( only 3 ) were serving the same food as the buffet but even worst. Italian a la carte did not even serve pasta and served the same pizza you found in the buffet again not at all fit to be eaten. Folks there is 1 and I repeat 1 salt shaker in the whole resort! They would pass it around the tables if you asked for salt like whaaat!!! Imagine going to an all inclusive to be forced to eat out every day what is even the point??? Now to the service, you would find the staff all bundled up at a bar chit chatting and on their phones while they serve you and not even make eye contact! Half the time they did not even have simple drinks. They constantly ask you for money and I am not talking about tipping just out of nowhere they come to you asking for money and clothes like where am I?? I understand its a third world country but the staff asking me for money while I am walking to go to my room? Harassing me for clothes while I am lying at the pool??? Room service, the lady came to our room twice in 7 days, we had to keep the same towels because there was not enough in the resort?? At least they didn't pass the towels around like the salt shaker ( at least I hope). Wifi is a disaster it will disconnect and reconnect at will and front reception will just tell you ''ahh not today sorry'' . Made us check out at 12 when flight was leaving at 8 knowing that resort had a 20% occupancy so why make us leave the room so early have a little decency com-on. I was sick for 3 days from the food and lack of hygiene. Everything in the resort is overpriced and you constantly feel like they are trying to rip you off. We had staff in the resort offering us drugs knowing it is completely illegal in Cuba and a criminal offence to do so ( felt like a plot to trick us). You would see locals during the day with no bracelet having food and drinks but would suddenly disappear at night. All in all DO NOT I repeat DO NOT book this place I will be making a formal complaint against the resort and keep in mind this is my 9th time in Cuba and it is the first time I am even taking the time to write a review because I feel it is so important to save my fellow travellers from having to go through this misery again.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Disappointing

The pool area is beautiful The beach is gorgeous The lobby bar was good as long as you had money in your hand ready to tip. The rooms had a terrible smell to them. The mattresses had a plastic cover on them which made it terrible to sleep on. We had outlets in our room that weren't attached to the wall
