Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful resort

Hotel is gorgeous. And the people are very friendly. The food was good,,the chefs deserve an apprentice to help with the rushes of people. I think the bed was infested with bedbugs. I was was very bitten I think the bug spray that we bought was something they liked.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Great place for vacation

Great place to stay, make you feel wanted, warm reception, food is good for Cuba, very nice beach, from the moment you book in your looked after and in style. Can’t say enough about our personal attendants Javier and wife Marie Rosa. They went out of their way to look after us both, because of our age we had a couple of difficult moments but they took care of everything can’t thank them enough.

Tryp Cayo Coco: Very friendly staff

This resort had probably the most friendliest staff I have ever encountered… the food was poor and very limited However the al a cartes we’re very good and they gave you however much you wanted . Although I wouldn’t recommend this resort to anyone I myself would go back more prepared just because of staff and how eager they were to please you

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Hotel is a former glory

Have stayed here before. Hotel is not the same. My room no HOT WATER. Asked many times...no responce. Towels are not changed unless you ask. Beach is beautiful but thats about it. Shows are few and tacky, no class. BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT WAS THE FOOD PROGRAM. Buffet was terrible, food was often re-heated over and over. very little taste and quality. No imagination on presentation and culinary skills. Brisas Guardalavaca: Beautiful Beach & Room

Overall we had a great time at Brisas Guardalavaca. The beach is beautiful. Room (Villa) was clean. We never had an problem finding meals. The only issue is if you go to the buffet late the food is almost gone because the Cuban's staying at the resort tend to take over. We found if we went early everything was plentiful. The coffee and breakfast at the restaurant is fantastic. We did have 2 of our towels stolen off our 2nd floor balcony. That was very disappointing. Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: A great stay.

Had a great week at the Royalton Cayo Santa Maria a couple of weeks ago. A hidden gem. The resort is lovely as is the beach. It's smaller, adults only with lots of shady palapas. All meals are a la carte (no buffet). There's not a lot of choice but all meals are well prepared, presented, and tasty. Definitely one of the best in the 12 visits to Cuba all inclusives that I've had over the years. And a review would not be complete without mentioning how welcoming the staff are: from the gar [... read more]deners and security personnel to the concierge/butler, maid and wait staff. Director Alejandro was always out and about, talking to and checking on his guests. A shout out to Alina, the maid, butlers Diana and Lester who looked after reservations and special requests/concerns, and waitress Marisol who you would be sure to meet. We have booked an encore: another week in November!

Melia Las Americas: A nice resort BUT

Assessing whether to ever go back. Had to move rooms (not till the next day) as the room overlooked a balcony and nothing else. WiFi never ever worked in either room but only in the lobby. Went for the golf vacation and as it turned out the golf carts were burned in a maintenance shack fire. The first day we had to carry our bags. Following days the resort managed to borrow carts but would only give one cart for each foursome…so two had to walk. The 3rd day our cart actually caught fire. [... read more] Not a great experience. Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Awesome Place

We just got back Dec 30. Everything was great. Beautiful grounds. The staff is amazing. We met many friends there. Plan on returning again soon. I am also keeping in touch with a few of the staff through face book.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort

Everyone from the groundkeepers , the maids, the management ,the waiters and waitresses and the bartenders (Orestes&Yolexis)were great. They always had a smile on their faces. The food was good, no complaints! They are starting to add more flavor or spices to the food. This is a country that is doing the best they can with what they can get their hands on . Remember you are going for the sun and fun, you will not starve. Club Kawama: Doing their best

Thank you again for booking the trips for our group, we are a very laid back crew and did enjoy ourselves given the circumstances but there are definitely some things you and future travellers should be made aware of before booking this property. I'll start by saying I have been to this resort previously and have clearly been fond of it, the location, beach, staff, affordability and even the food was quite good for Cuba. I do understand the supply chain issues that have decreased here whether [... read more] due to the pandemic or the war in Ukraine and these things were slightly foreseeable. However, the entire lobby at Kawama was under construction and completely closed off. The 'reception' was in a room and was quite disorganized for check in of over a dozen people. Our bus drove us to both opposite ends of the resort and some of our group walked to find out where we were to even check in. This could have been noted. We had a vague idea of the food and beverage concerns but there were literally two options for alcohol, beer and rum. There was no ice for 3 days, often out of coffee and not one of us ever received beer or soft drinks in our rooms. Lunch and dinner was pork, rice and cucumber cut 8 different ways but I don't want to make a huge deal out of the food because we didn't go to Cuba for that but it warrants mentioning. The resort was also 90% Cuban locals so any entertainment or activities were entirely in Spanish leaving us feeling excluded but again not necessarily what we go for. On the positive side the weather, beach, grounds and even rooms for the most part were good and the staff are always wonderful and did express their own dismay at what they were able to offer us. Overall I was disappointed with the lack of the basics but I understand that is out of your control but when one is paying for certain advertised expectations it's disheartening. This is the most I've ever paid to visit this resort and received the least. I'm writing mainly for awareness purposes as I was unable to gain this kind of information via social media or travel blogs but I have and will continue to share this information so new travellers can make an informed decision. In summary our group ended up being 9 as two additional friends arrived a day later to celebrate my birthday and we had many laughs and made the absolute most of our week away and we'll never forget it. Paradisus Los Cayos: Great resort

Nice room, the beach is beautiful, the main swimming pool was a bit small. The bigger swimming pool was a bit far and there was no facilities there. I suppose the hotel provides lots of small pools in front of the accomodations that is why. Fish and shrimps were missing completely . Lack variety of food especially at Lunch and dinner buffet. Staff were very courteous and nice. The night shows were very good and interesting.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Impeccable

Amazing resort, room was specious and very clean. The grounds were kept very clean. The fact that everything was with 5min waking distance was a huge plus . Spa area and services were impeccable, rates for messages, pedi etc are very inexpensive and when booking a service you get access of the spa area, salt water pool, hot tub, private beach . Food , although there was definitely a lack of variety due to Cuba not getting supplies the food that was prepared was extremely good Zero complaints  [... read more]In regards the food. The people in the resort were amazing . I had a late flight the hotel gave me the room until 4 pm at no cost to me If you want peace and tranquility this is the place . Did I mention that the swim with dolphins is a mere 7min away and aquarium is build in the ocean

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Resort review

Impeccable landscape , for the most part friendly staff , we all know the food tradition , large welcoming rooms , issues with sink and toilet , unable to exchange beach towel for 4 days … hand sanitation and soap dispensers in public washrooms for the most part empty … makes you wander about the staff cleanliness … also met people that had paid a lot less for their vacation .

Playa Pesquero: Great time

Hotel was clean and everything was good Staff was extremely good. Everyone was helpful. Pool and beach spectacular Snorkelling and catamaran was fabulous Lobster dinner on the beach lots of fun went on jeep exclusion had a fabulous time. Third time there!

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing stay at Grand Sirenis!!!

We stayed at this hotel for seven day and absolutely loved the stay. The staff and entertainment team were very welcoming and created a fun environment to enjoy. The bartender at the bar located before the beach, Adonis and Yasniel, were great, very friendly and attentive. As well as Miguel the bartender and Jesus the chef at the 24/7 snack bar they went above and beyond. Melia Las Americas: It was just ok …

This hotel is struggling to recover from the pandemic. This is my second trip here (once before the pandemic) and both times are very different in the experience. Most of the staff are wonderful but some are rude. They lack training. The food was very repititious in the buffet. The Japanese restaurant is good but if you are on a salt reduced diet be careful. The beach and pool are quite good but the pool lacked regular cleaning to remove the sand and other debris that collected day.  [... read more]The worst part of the trip is my room had bedbugs and I had a severe reaction to their bites (I am quite allergic to them). Upon complaint Hotel Mgmt advised they were sending someone to inspect the room. Two cleaning staff showed up and simply changed the bedding and left. They did not inspect for bedbugs at all. All in all the trip was survivable but for the money paid I expect better… even in Cuba.

Vila Gale Cayo Santa Maria: Not crazy about resort

People are wonderful, staff réception and at the bars maids etc.very lovely. Food was not too good but that could be due to availability. Very repetitive items. Pools too noisy with djs yelling to get ppl pumped up and often too loud music. Same at the beach. Rooms were clean.

Playa Pesquero: Our Playa Pesquero

This was our first trip since we canceled our trip in March 2020. Covid was hitting us hard and now after our trip to Playa Pesquero we see how hard the resorts were hit. This resort is starting to recover but as anytime something is closed it's a start up process that will take sometime to get up and running 100%. All the staff that are there working are very accommodating. The shows were shown and were amazing Some of the food was limited in selection like the fruit and some of the selection at the a la carts but the servers were there to help with food serving in the buffet witch made for a cleaner feeling. The lighting on some walk ways at night were out and made getting around a little confusing. Overall, considering these times it's a great resort.

Grand Memories Santa Maria: Sanctuary

Hi Heather, We need to bring a disconcerting experience to your attention. We were encouraged by Sunwing to book by a given date in order to be upgraded to Memories Sanctuary at no additional cost. However, upon arrival in Cuba, we discovered that of the three Memories Resorts, the Sanctuary was the only one opened. We were grossly misled into booking early and manipulated into thinking that we were getting a deal. Furthermore, we missed out on subsequent promotions by Sunwing’s competitor [... read more]s. It was brought to our attention numerous times in Cuba that we EACH paid approximately $350.00 more for the same all-inclusive vacation! Clean room, clean pool, hot water, working lamps, overhead lights and a.c., beautiful sheets, hair dryer!, not a bug in sight, great entertainment, lovely little balcony on west side of pool catching the morning sun. Food, not very good, close to inedible for North American standards, and in nearly all-Cuban resort did not feel staff was terribly interested in me, but I was on a mom run and felt safe, safer than anywhere I have ever been, wanted the closest access to the beach and I got it.
