Hotel Playa Coco: Amazing Place

everything seemed clean and inviting, the beach was not crowded and clean, staff were friendly and helpful. I have recommended to my family for family vacation next year. I was looking for a quaint quiet place and that is what we got.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Fantastic Resort

Food, beach and service was great...homemade pizza, fresh fish, shrimp and mussels...great. The beach was the best part...when the tide went out there was a sandbar that you could walk on for over a mile

Tryp Cayo Coco: Run Down

The resort is very run down, needs a lot of TLC. The food is very bland and tasteless. The people who work there are great. I would not go back. The rooms are run down lots of mold, the bathtub looks like it has never seen a scrub brush and by the way we saw a cockroach in the buffet area.

Melia Cayo Coco: The Best Resort in Cuba

The thing we liked best about this hotel was the size. Compact and cenient. The resort itself is, in our estimation, perfect. The food is wonderful, the staff are friendly and efficient, we love the lobby in the evenings with the music and the lovely ambiance and our room on the lagoon was beautiful. Everything clean and well kept everywhere. This was our third visit and we will be back again someday soon. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort

Loved it at this resort. We were situated in building 3 and were central to everything. didn't have to walk more than 5 minutes anywhere. Nice clean rooms, staff so accommodating and food was unexpectedly good. Plan to go back next year as my daughter is going to get married there.

Hotel Playa Coco: Playa Hotel caya coco

I found that the room smell moldy tho they were clean could use new pillows beds were ok .There wasn't clean towels everyday .We had to asked for coffee and water three times out of seven days .Patio door did not work well and did not lock .The grounds were neat as I could see they were working to improve .The food was ok but after three days you grew tired of it could change it up a little .The staff was very good I did enjoy myself and the weather was great , We did enjoy that it was a smaller [... read more] place only took a couple of days to settle in If you are not too fuzzy I would recommend this place .The beach was lovely and lots of lounge chairs .

Tryp Cayo Coco: Great place to have a much needed rest

This is our second stay at Tryp this time we stayed in a ocean view room, it was great unobstructed view of the ocean. The room keeping was good, food was better than other places we have stayed in Cuba. When we first arrived we had our rooms moved due to there not being a door on the washroom. Had no problem at all getting them to move us. There was 2 couples we went down with and met my son and his girl down there a couple days after we landed due to them arriving from Manitoba. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: very good resort

Grounds were expansive, food generally had a good variety and good quality. Rooms were spacious although a few glitches with showers and patio doors. Overall I would recommend it and go back. Bring water shoes as first 20 feet of beach is rocky.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Wonderful vacation

We flew with Air Transat from Hamilton for a week's stay at the Melia Jardines Del Rey in Cayo Coco from Feb 27 to March 6. We had a wonderful flight and recommend the Hamilton airport. It all went very smoothly. Arrived at the hotel, drinks to greet us, a nice touch. Rooms were modern and spacious. King size bed with walk in shower, vanity was on the outside of bathroom which was very efficient. Rooms were kept spotless by housekeeping, we also had turndown service for a few nights with chocol [... read more]ates which was a lovely touch. We had ground floor room overlooking pool which was very handy. Pool was beautiful and very large, small kiddie pool also available. Had to scramble for shade each day but staff would bring extra loungers if you asked. Entertainment was good every day by pool but pool was big enough to get away from that if desired. Beach was very small and again shade was at a premium, no shortage of loungers. Rocky but areas to right and left of entrance to walk into the ocean. Beautiful views of the Aqua coloured ocean. Food was great, best we have had in Cuba, we have been 6 times to different areas of Cuba. A la Cartes were hit and miss and depended what you ordered and your overall tastes. Buffets were well stocked and there were grilling stations for eggs in the mornings with smoothie bar. Lunch and evenings, fish and meats and pizza and pasta. They also had a banana,papaya, pineapple flambé station. They also had 24 hour snackbar by the pool with food cooked to order and a beach restaurant which had buffet style food. You will never go hungry. They are still completing the 6 a la carte restaurants so some have to share the beach restaurant. You could eat outside if desired at every meal, what luxury.... Bars were well stocked and you could get fabulous cappuccino and Spanish coffees at the lobby bar. Ending the night with a scotch or brandy. The lobby bar has great music every night before dinner which we really enjoyed. Go early for a nice cocktail before dinner and enjoy the variety of music. We did not catch too many shows so really cannot comment. Staff at this resort really go out of their way to help you. The resort is not finished yet but should be in a couple of months. The building construction does not bother anyone. This resort will then be the largest in Cuba, we will see how they come with double the amount of rooms. We did not mind the walking, nothing was more than 5 mins away. Be careful of the walkways, they are narrow and dark at night and they are used by the resort for deliveries and golf carts. We had a wonderful vacation and would highly recommend.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Done with Cuba

We travel to Cuba for a cheap beach holiday. Our expectations of food quality is low and that is what we got. We did experience shortages of food here, that was a first, ran out of bread on several occasions. The poutine in the 24 hour snack bar was a life saver for my family. We went to 2 of 3 À la carte restaurants, the Italian one was not very good at all. The Portuguese one was much better but the servings were very small. We had no issues with the hotel rooms, they were up to date and clea [... read more]n, TV/computer monitor could be bigger but didn't come to Cuba to sit inside. The activity around the pool/beach was very poorly run, for example beach volley was set for a certain time on the beach we would go down and the activity personnel would throw the ball in and leave. We would read the Activity board so we could join in on the activities but it was not kept up to date and often the activity didn't materialize. Entertainment at night started for the most part at 9:30pm lasted for approx. 40 minutes, although the staff was very talented it was the same type of entertainment...dancing to music. We opted to rent a taxi and go into Moron, this is the nearest town, it was cheaper than taking a bus tour and we were able to do some sight seeing of our own along the way, this worked out very well. We also hired a taxi and went to Lenny's Lobster Shack, this was the best meal we had while in Cuba...well worth the 15 pesos. Analese at Guest Services was very helpful and arranged the taxis for us.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: The people were just great .

The washrooms need alot more attention .Everytime you went in the public ones they were out of toilet paper .agoring to say the lest . The people are very friendly and helpful Enjoyed the water exercise .Sunwing need to update their airline updates more often.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Rooms were clean, bedding was very comfortable for Cuba, washroom great. Everything is new. Service was quite good. Staff at front counter did all they could. One instance regarding internet service created a small problem which was you cannot text but must E-mail or have Twitter, Facebook, etc. to send messages. Food was fantastic I have no complaints at all. There is a fair bit of walking so learn shortcuts, use shuttles or don't forget stuff creating second trips back to room. Enjoyed a la ca [... read more]rt restaurants last night had filet of beef. Shows were quite good, enjoyed the Michael Jackson show the most. Everyone was quite pleasant. The only drawback at all is the beach because of coral on shoreline which will require some remedial work; probably take some time. Take water shoes and do take snorkel and fins, check out offshore-lots to see. This holiday was well worth the money and I would have no problem returning. Thanks for the rest and relaxation. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Lovely Pestana!

If you want an 'R & R' vacation and are happy and content with good food & a fabulous beach, this is the place for you! The buffet is more than sufficient, the 3 a la carte's are good, the pool side restaurant is also good...just slower due to volume. The beach grill always serves excellent deep-fried fish (fresh) and excellent paella. Sometimes burgers/hotdogs. The gym is nice & cool with good equipment. The grounds are very pleasing. Stayed in Unit #4, close proximity to the best part of the beach. (Just loud on 2 nights due to the 'beach party'). The beach at Pestana near the beach bar is excellent. The beaches at the adjacent resorts on either side of Pestana are very rocky......and definitely require rubber water shoes there. Never stayed at the poolside. Too crowded and there really is only I pool (not huge) plus a wading pool for kiddies. Bring a good book, lots of sunscreen and have a great time!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Best week ever!

I have to say my husband and I had one of our best trips yet! This was our second trip to Melia Cayo Guillermo. Yes the rooms could use an update but our room was spotless everyday, the bed very comfortable and an awesome view from our balcony. Air conditioning, lots of hot water and good water pressure. A special thank you to Greter, at the pool and Ariel, in the buffet and lobby bar for their superb service. They were a lot of fun. We received awesome service everywhere. We didn't have to wait [... read more] in any big lines. The food was excellent. They fogged every morning and I don't think we ever saw a fly. We spend most days at the ocean because that's our favorite. On a couple really windy days we went to the pool. The pool was warm and very clean. We made the most of everyday and had a fantastic time. I like to try different resorts but my husband keeps wanting to go back to Melia so chances are we'll be there again soon. Great service. Great food. Clean resort nice ocean with good shows. Perfect place to take family and friends to relax. I would go again. Exchange rate is a little crazy but other then that it was all around perfect. .....

Tryp Cayo Coco: Tired hotel but terrific!

The Tryp Hotel in Cayo Coco may seem a bit tired. Actually, the physical accommodations are tired. But the staff. They are anything but tired. We experienced everything we had hoped for during our one week stay: beautiful sunshine, groomed white beaches, excellent service from those who cleaned our room, served our drinks (we preferred to stay with buffet style), swept sand off of our beach lounge chairs, entertainers, bartenders to even grounds keepers who always smiled and offered up an 'Ola.'

this resort was very nice and the grounds were beautiful rooms were very clean the staff very friendly....would go back.... the ocean was very nice a little rocky but new that before we went...the pools were great and the waiters were great very buddy was so friendly....

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: an okay resort

We thought the resort was alright. The grounds were nice closest the main entrance. Otherwise there was garbage. There were pigs and dogs on the grounds and I personally didn't feel comfortable. Two grounds men were carrying machetes and a dead pig. It was disturbing. I wouldn't return to the Resort.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Had a great time!!!

Staff were awesome. Treated us like Kings! Travelled with 12 total. Always found room for us all, actually waiting for us with table ready. Food was very good. Beach was awesome! Lots to do if you wanted to with Star Friends. The wait staff were always around to fill your drinks. Hardly used my Bubba as they were always looking to get you drinks. Pool water was a little cooler than I like but the weather was cooler before we arrived, but not the resorts fault. We stayed in a standard room and it [... read more] was fine. The layout of the resort is nice and the villas had nice views that you didn't have to pay extra for. Great trip, would go back tomorrow if I could!! Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice newer resort!

The grounds of the Pestana are lovely & very well cared for. The rooms are modern, spacious and kept very clean by the wonderful cleaning staff. The food was what is typical for Cuba with the exception of the Tuesday Cuba night which offered unlimited lobster tails, yummy! If you stick to the grilling stations that are available at every meal you will eat very well. The staff in Cuba are always what makes it such a pleasure to go there. I will be back for sure.
