Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: Amazing family oriented resort

Rooms were spacious enough and very well cleaned! Staff was very nice. Food choices was great. Restaurants amazing. Activities for all. Beaches were awesome- what more can you ask for? Will go again for sure

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Excellent Resort in all aspects!!!

We were upgraded to the Esmeralda Section of the Gran Bahia Principe Complex in Punta Cana. It was wonderful in all aspects, the staff, food, room, grounds were impeccable as well as the pool and beach area. Trip Central made sure of our requests such as king size bed, upper floor of accommodations, non smoking, etc. to our delight. The service was wonderful.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Great trip

Food was great. Buffet was better than the specialty restaurants. Beach was great for walking but not good for swimming as there was too much coral. Got sucked into the Bahia Príncipe Privilege Club. We were told that you didn't have to buy anything but that's exactly what it was......a time share.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Amazing!

We LOVED Akumal! The infinity pool that was recently put in was spectacular! We were very happy with the food and service. It's great that you also get access to the 3 other Bahia Principe resorts (Coba, Sian Ka'an and Tulum) as well the local village (Hacienda Doña Isabel). I would highly recommend staying here!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Excellent Resort!

Big resort with lots of activities and things to do. Service was excellent. We had the Golden Package. It does not give you a lot of extras but we checked in and out quickly and anything we asked for was taken care of asap because we could go to the special area for those who upgraded to Golden. By the beach for activities or further up for quiet.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Excellent resort!

We stayed at this resort from Jan 9 to 16th, 2016. We are from Canada and have gone on a winter getaway for the past 16 years. This was our first time at this resort but we have stayed at 2 other Bahia Principle resorts in Punta Cana. This resort is about 1 1/2 hours by bus from Cancer airport. The resort is very large. We really liked the Mikado and the Brazilian. Beach is really good and you can walk along way. We recommend this resort!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: MOST RELAXING RESORT

You feel that you are very close to nature. The resort is in a forest setting complete with wildlife. They also have the friendliest and the nicest staff. They are always ready to fulfill your needs. Also being in this resort entitles you to use the other Principe Bahia resorts nearby.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort

As soon as we arrived my impression of the combined resorts-coba, tulum,akumal and sian ka'an as a whole is beautiful, well manicured with lots of wildlife. The lobbies of each section are large and open air. Check in: was fairly quick although our room was not ready until 2 hours later because of our early flight. We received a welcome drink but no cool towel. Rooms: Great size with a sitting area. Bathroom Large with large soaking tub with jets. Because of our upgrade we had beach towels, rob [... read more]es, slippers and a no charge safe. Stocked mini bar with drinks and snacks. Walls were pretty thin as we could hear our neighbours a few nights coming in late or moving around. Maid service was good but she missed a day but later that night we found a bag of towels and supplies at our door. We only received turndown service once but not big deal. Mini bar was re- stocked when drinks were taken but only once with snacks which was disappointing. Pools: Quite pool, Kids pool and small adult pools so lots of choices. Never hard to find loungers but on sunny days a little harder to find shade. Lots of shallow areas to just sit and relax. Beach: Yes it is a walk and you can take the trolley. Walk was 5 minutes and you were at the Akumal beach. Nice walk down the beach to the Coba or Tulum area. We had all red flag days but the "whales" on the beach stopped the tide from being too rough. The whales are not that attractive but they certainly do work. We thought Coba beach area was nicer then Tulums- more clear of rocks and coral. Lots of loungers and shade but once again if a sunny day they would be hard to find if you came later in morning. Bar and snack area close by but we found it a pain to head to the washrooms no matter which area of the beach we were at. Buffets: Main buffets at Coba and Tulum are huge. Lots to choose from. Mexican, Asian, Healthy, Vegetarian, small children area, seafood, bread, dessert areas available everyday. Some excellent choices some not so great. For the most part we found desserts not appealing as they were mostly gelatine type but the crepes and battered banana excellent. A la cartes: The ones worth visiting in our opinion...Brazilian-a green card to say I want more, a red to say I'm full. Lots of different delicious meats come to you table on a spear. Appetizers were buffet style. Caesar salad was very good with real bacon bits. Asian table show: Food was excellent. The show part was very slow with long breaks in between showing up, apps, cooking show, eating, dessert. I found it funny that they didn't keep things rolling and many times we were left in a warm room with 12 ppl staring at each other wondering when we were going to get served. One couple left early and didn't wait for dessert. The show part was entertaining but very short, not on going like we have seen in other resorts. We spent almost 2 hours here because of slow service. Mexican: Was very disappointed to be informed that this option was not available to us as we were told it was closed for one month. Snack/24 hr bar- Overall a good alternative to the buffet but breakfast didn't have great choices- although we did get fruit on our last early morning day even though it was not a menu choice which was greatly appreciated. Internet: 1 hour free per computer/ipad in lobbies and pool area. Never had a problem and it was long enough to stay in touch with family at home. Nice free perk. Entertainment: Elvis was amazing. Highly recommend seeing him. We caught his show at the Tulum lobby bar and then part of another show which was different in Coba's. Best impersonator we have seen. The other shows we saw were good to just ok but even if we didn't love the show, overall the performers were excellent in dance and acrobatics. Shuttles: All run pretty frequently. There is no signs to say where they are heading to, so you are constantly asking the driver or bell boy where to wait. My only compliant was on our way to the Brazilian a la carte which is at the Tulum. We left 45 minutes before hand and had to get two trolleys.Reservations at 7:30. On the transfer at the Tulum lobby we were told where to wait but when the cart came the driver said he wasn't going there and we had to wait again. We waited until 7:20 and still no cart. It was pouring out the whole time and we knew they were strict on arrival time and will not hold reservation. With only 10 mins left and knowing the a la carte was a 8-10 min walk we thought we better walk it instead of waiting. Our lower half of our bodies were soaked and we were not impressed when we arrived to find out we would be seated in the tent area of the restaurant which once again had puddles all over the floor and very slippery getting up to serve yourself a the appetizer/dessert buffet. Weather: Not so great -overcast and rainy with only a couple sunny days but not the resorts fault. Like I mentioned earlier the lobbies are large so there is always a place to hang out when weather does not co-operate. Bahia Principe App: Great to have this. Requested extra pillows on it. You can also book your a la carts and reminders for them. Maps and what's happening around the resort. Overall it's a great resort. Too large to really get to know the staff unless you make a point of going to same area all the time. We spent lots of time at Tulum as we are beach ppl and it was nice to have the option to resort hop. Our daughter is heading here in a couple weeks and I know she will have a great time too.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Always Enjoyable

The grounds and rooms are always meticulously clean and in good shape. Staff for the most part are very friendly, the check-in staff could use a little customer service training, but the rest are fantastic. One thing we noticed this time after being at this resort for the 5th time was some of the food at the buffet wasn't hot enough.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Beautiful Resort!

Room was very clean, with a well stocked fridge. Maid and room service great. Beautiful pools with plenty of loungers but not much shade. Beach was well maintained. Food and servers was very good. Grounds were very lush.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Friendly Resort, Good Service, Spanish, Ok Beach

I was travelling alone & met a few nice people at Grand Bahia Principe in Rio San Juan, Dominican. The resort is pretty far removed & you can't rent a car there so make travel arrangements beforehand if you want to take a private road trip. Cabs are expensive ~ somewhere around $100 US for a ride & back to Cabarete (which you definitely want to visit if you're in Rio San Juan). Food at the resort is quite good. Look  [... read more]for the fresh Prosciutto, Chorizo and make sure the bread isn't hard before you put it on your plate. Add a bit of Gouda cheese and some olives & you've got a nice Antipasto! Fresh fruit is always really good in The Dominican. The A-La-Carte restaurants were quite good (although I heard the "Chinese" wasn't so good).. Try the Duck at The Mediterranean and the Lasagna at the Italian a-la-cartes. The desserts at the Mediterranean were good. Other than that, I only recommend the desserts at the buffet. On the last day I was there they had fresh doughnuts which were good! Very friendly staff & I never had any issue with trust. Make sure to leave a couple dollars on the bed each day you want the room cleaned and your fridge will get stocked, as well. Tipping, in general, greatly improved already good service! Plus, you are helping people a lot less fortunate than us Canadians etc.. Grounds were kept quite well. The beach I'd give a 2 1/2 out of 5. Very murky water on rougher days and only 1 day out of 7 the eastern shore was clear. I'm usually in the ocean everyday on vacation but I kept to the pools for the most part. I could only bring myself to swim in the ocean the first day I was there. There are man-made barricades but they don't help to keep the beach debris-free. I'm not sure the cure to this but the water was very murky first week of January. Pools were kept pretty clean and if you couldn't find a beach chair at the main pool there are 2 other smaller pools to choose from. At the main pool, there is actually a lot of seating though as long as you don't mind not having a lay down beach chair. Careful, the sun is very hot and can burn quickly. Wear your 30 sunblock and have lipgloss or protect... And jump in the pool often! For the most part, a pretty good stay and the nightly shows were good. Be sure to ask for the dark rum if you're drinking Pina Colada's! Much fuller taste... And the Presidente beer is always good to quench thirst.. But be sure to also drink your fair share of filtered or bottled water to take the edge of the super sweet heat. I recommend this resort if you are looking for a real "get-away" but if you want the city life of Sosua or Cabarete make sure you make rental car arrangements before you go. Everyone around the resort you encounter will probably be quick to try say hello & to help you! Just be weary of the vendors on the beach trying to sell you stuff for higher than in the Gift Shop (front lobby across from Check-In). Visit the Gift Store first than you can barter with them from there! Enjoy your trip!

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Loved it

Grounds were very nice, hotel nice as well. Staff were great. One staff in particular (Ainsley on the entertainment team) went over and above the call of duty. Made it his goal to make sure you had a great time. Very respectful, polite and fun. Postive attitude everyday. Overall great experience, highly recommend it

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Nice Beach, Don't go for the Entertainment!

Hotel, Food, Grounds were beautiful and well kept! Staff were friendly and very helpful! But if you are looking for a resort with upbeat evening entertainment I would suggest looking elsewhere. We wanted to have a few drinks after dinner and unless you are French and looking for a totally mellow bar with entertainment that makes you fall asleep, you won't find what you are looking for here! Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Definitely Luxuary

The hotel was first class, although the wing we were in had just been opened three week prior to our visit, everything was in place. The grounds were kept immaculate by a dedicated group of employees The pool was fantastic and well kept and cleaned although it was a little cold for my liking. Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Very happy

Ground immaculate, food excellent, staff: some good, front desk not so much, beach is great and overall would go back. Not great entertainment staff or entertainment in general. Went to the Privilege club thinking it was not a time share offer...I was wrong.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Had a great time!

This resort really delivers on expectation -- at least it did for me. The resort is absolutely beautiful. The food was really good. The rooms are new and modern. I will be going back next Xmas season.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible Value

Beautiful resort with very high marks from us regarding the quality of friendly service- very clean- comfortable rooms- great variety and quality of food from the snack bars- buffets and the Ala cart restaurants.We will be returning for our 9th time sometime in the future.Love it and the staff make it special*

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful resort!

The staff at Cayacoa were so friendly, there was lots to do, the rooms were spacious and clean. We thought the food was excellent, best Piña Coladas I have ever had! The resort was beautiful and scenic sitting atop the cliff. The elevator down to the beach was a nice feature. Neither the beach nor the pools were ever super crowded. Great resort!

Cayo Levantado Resort: not what we expected

The island is beautiful no doubt. We just we not impressed with the overall lack of severe throughout and the food quality was very poor. We have stayed at the bahia throughout the Dominican and this is the only one we would not spend the money to return too. Spent to much for the trip as it was being 2k each Canadian. We should have had better service and food for that price. Very nice and big resort.Room was nice and clean . The three restaurants we went to we did not like at all,food much better at main buffet.Beach is beautiful,but is very hard to find loungers if not there very early.Main lobby is very nice with all seating for people to gather in the evening.Wonderful staff
