Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Very disappointing

This resort would have potential if under different management. - the staff were friendly but NOT helpful - the food was horrendous - tips were asked for and expected everywhere - the facility was rundown (for example the pool grout was dirty) - basic supplies were limited (no toothbrushes or lighters for purchase) On a positive, the beach was beautiful!

Grand Memories Varadero: Not good

It's far from beach. Poorly maintained. All door locks have loose connection. Needs to use key multiple times. Bathroom door lock is damaged. Bathtub is too high with no steps. Need to ask for clean towel, toilet papers and drinking water everyday. Only good thing is they have kids swimming pool and a kids show in the night.

Punta Peninsula Varadero: Wonderful vacation

Although damage was still evident from hurricane Irma,we had an absolutely great time! The staff was very accommodating. The food in our opinion wasn't the greatest, however we spoke with other guests that loved it. We loved the coffee!

Hotel Villa Cuba: Great Resort

This Resort is nice & clean as the cleaning staff is always on top of the cleaning requirements... The food is good... Various types of Pasta is available for lunch & dinner... Along with Chicken, Fish, etc. and lets not forget the assortment of deserts... Breakfast, there is chefs making fresh Crepe's or Omelets, or if you prefer eggs Your Way... along with the various buffet style foods... Sol Palmeras: GREAT TIME AT SOL PALMERAS

We had a great time at the Sol Palmeras in Varadero Cuba. We've been to Cuba about 10 times and this was one of the best times. The beach is beautiful, clean and always had chairs and shaded areas. The staff were attentive, our room was always cleaned and the buffet and restaurants provide a lot of choice. One of us is vegan and we were happy that a lot of different tasty food was available. Muthu Playa Varadero: Good Value

Went on a last minute trip with my cousin for a relaxing little girls getaway. Overall we enjoyed our stay and would probably return to the resort. It wasn't too big, which was nice because there were no lineups for anything. The lobby area was nice. When we were initially lead to our room, we were a bit scared because the hallways leading to the rooms were in disrepair. They badly needed patching, painting and a good cleaning. Our spirits were lifted when we went to the buffet for the first time - absolutely amazing. The bars were good. Yummy drinks. Nice pool, but needed a few tiles replaced. Good spot for kids. Amazing beach and lots of chairs, but only a handful of the "good" comfortable chairs so you have to get to the beach early. Always lots of spots around the pool though. Internet was great. Coffee bar was amazing. Italian a la carte was awful, but the international one was phenomenal. Staff generally friendly. Nobody bugging you to buy anything. I'm very happy with the price we paid for the service we received.

Starfish Jibacoa: Good budget resort

good location new mountains and sea. Good enough rooms in the bungalow. Good food diversity. Sometimes shrimps, sometimes dorada fish, one day rabbit. Not enough of fruits and vegetables. No grill outside.

Club Karey: Better than I expected

This is a no frills resort and it is Cuba, so be prepared to suffer some inconvenience, like having to carry around your own toilet paper. The food is mediocre and the rooms are simply furnished, with few additional amenities. I expected that. What was wonderful was the more than 2 kilometers of beach front, the gentle ocean waves and the delightful staff. This place is a two storey walk-up spread out over 29 units. Muthu Playa Varadero: Great time with the family

The hotel wasnt too big which was good cause everthing was close by good was great my kids love it the food my the beach was great ate there everyday my room was clean my cleaning lady mary was really nice she always made designs with the towels i had fresh water everyday my kids loved the pool and the beach was beautiful made alot of really great friends they have to repair alot of things on the resort but they were definitely working on it i would definitely go back

Hotel Los Cactus: Another Great Holiday

This was our eighth visit to Los Cactus ( formerly Breezes Varadero) We love it here, friendly staff,beautiful grounds, quiet, and an amazing beach, are only some of the reasons we keep returning to this resort.

Memories Jibacoa: A fantastic place to come back to....and we didn,t regret it

Well situated between La Havana and Varadero, Memories Jibacoa is a little paradise in between the mountains and the sea. Beautiful landscapes. A paradise for snorkeling as there is a coral reef accessible from the beach. Also close enough to Havana to visit and learn the history of Cuba. The only thing that was a little disappointing but out of their control was the weather. Only a few days of sun but Mother Nature is in charge here and the whole east coast was affected. We would definitely go back when a good rest is needed.

Playa Vista Azul: Fantastic Resort and Staff!

This resort was the best resort we’ve stayed at in Cuba thus far! It was very clean, beautifully decorated, staff were very attentive and it wasn’t so huge that you felt like you had to walk miles from one end to the other. The food was rather good but I heard many complain as always with Cuba but we liked it. You have to consider where you are. I get how Latin culture is a bit more “sexy” and less conservative but this time we literally had ladies on stage in their thongs shaking what mama gave them! Lol They were beautiful but moulin rouge and twerking in your underwear isn’t a family show! So simply just make people with families aware of that. The pools were wonderful and the two beach options were also splendid! We liked the smaller beach the most with the snack bar nearby. The sand was nicer and food and drink were accessible. They could use more umbrellas for those who prefer shade.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great place, horrible food

The place itself is amazing! So beautiful! And so big! And the gym was pretty awesome too! I was shocked as to how much it had in it. And the entertainment was good too. Always had lots going on, but Sunday was low key and quiet. But the food? Omg, almost the same stuff breakfast lunch and dinner. And we were only there for four days, thank god not a week or more. My husband is still dying from itch and we got home feb 5th. Mine aren’t as bad but he isn’t sleeping. That’s not the resorts fault, just a warning as the big repellent didn’t work for us. Other then the food, the place was great.

Hotel Tuxpan: Fun and friendly resort

The hotel is clean and the beach is amazing. Food selection was good. New variety. Love the fruit selection . They have a juice bar outside. The staff are very friendly and loving. Good to each other. You feel like part of a big family. Visitors from around the world mingle and have fun. We made many friends. Love the coffee bar.

Palma Real: Amazing hotel

Great location , great service, spacious rooms. Very flose to the beach. Food was good, lotscof options availablem The A la carte Itqlian restaurant La Piazza offered great menu. We tried Lasagne qland fish filet both excellent.

Hotel Los Cactus: Emotional rollercoaster..

Well, by far a vacation. Took a week away from my child to get food poisoning, got treated like crap by front desk, couldn’t have a normal shower, cockroachs on the buffet plates, husband was killing giant centipedes in our room, AC in room barely worked, had to ask 3 times for a new fridge ours was broken, toilet wouldn’t flush which was terrible since I had explosive diarrhea and projectile vomiting, eye raped by 2 male severs constantly, our SHOES were stolen off our beach chair, room sme [... read more]lt like a funeral home, music and loud loud noises along with Maids yelling in hallways all morning.... NO sleep, cried 2 days of the trip. Should have stayed in my crappy home town for the week instead.

Palma Real: Not amazing resort

We were at this resort 2 years ago, and since then they have had a hurricane. There is a lot of mold damage in the rooms. It made some of us sick. It was on the walls, and the curtains, and came out of the AC. The water in the bathroom is a hit or miss if you get water, and if it is hot or cold. 3 days I had no hot water, and 1 day no water in the morning. by late afternoon there was hot water or warm water. The common bathrooms were a problem too. No toilet paper or paper towels. the t [... read more]oilet in building 1 backed up, and there was a lot of water on the floor. It didn’t get cleaned till the next day. On the positive side, there are lots of pools to sit around or swim, There was plenty of choices of food. The staff were nice. The entertainment was good.

Palma Real: Awesome food

I thought the resort had huge potential. Food was great for Cuba. The brach house lacked staffing. Waited for service way too long. My biggest disappointment was the fact that i was in a resort full of french canadians and it really did not allow me to feel comfortable to socialize.

Be Live Turquesa: Super awesome

We were very pleasantly surprised by this resort, be it smaller than most that we have been to. The food was fine, the staff were amazing from our cleaning lady Cathy, our bartenders Pablo and Gregorio, and our wonderful servers especially Lisell who stole our hearts from day one. The resort was on the best part of the beach with plenty of room for everyone. It was clean and well maintained and we cannot wait to go back.

Melia Marina Varadero: Beautiful Clean Resort

Melia Marina is a beautiful resort for families who want to relax and older people like myself. No party issues or loudness like other resorts. Entertainment consisted of light music in the lobby (there is no disco). Outside they have a couple shows a week, salsa dancing, ballet and singers. The pools were large and clean, swim up bar was awesome, staff were attentive. Managers always around in the kitchen making sure staff were working as well as helping out with clearing tables (nice to see th [... read more]em chip in). Beach is across the road which was only a 5 minute walk or the golf cart always comes to pick you up. The walk was nice - good exercise. You have a choice to reserve a room facing the pool or marina, distant ocean views. Instead we choose a studio apartment (2 minute longer walk but well worth the extra space) we faced the Marina, and were upgraded to a 1 bedroom apartment which had 2 bathrooms, kitchen and living room with pull out sofa and a separate bedroom and balcony. This worked out great for 2 women as we had privacy. Grounds were well maintained. Good brand name drinks (coffee and baileys at the coffee bar was great). Plenty of fancy specialty drinks to try something different. The food was typical for cuba- a step up from other places I have been. Pizza in buffet was good but no so good at the pool snack bar. Restaurant on the beach as busy and understaffed- waited an hour for food, but no fault to the staff they work hard. Pool and Beach had dance lessons, water aerobics, volley ball. Beach bar had fast service a couple beach waiters. We traveled with AirTransat- plane was big, smooth and comfy but a bit chilly bring a warm sweater. Only recommendation for this resort is to put a activity board in the Lobby-we didn't know where the entertainment was half the time so we missed a lot of shows. Sometimes they are downstairs, upstairs or at the pool which is the opposite side of the building. When we finally figured out there was stuff going on there at night our trip was half over. The manager said they post the activities in the elevators? We didn't use the hotel elevator so didn't know. We thought everything shut down at 7pm, but the shows go from 9:30-10:30. Then other then the lobby and people playing cards it's very quiet-like I said more focused on older crowds and quiet families. Beach was beautiful, great for swimming. Marina has some shopping and a small market with gifts same prices as Varadero, great for last minute shopping. There is a quality liquor store on site, small grocery store and a cigar/coffee shop. I would go again for a quiet vacation. Felt very safe at this resort. You will need to take the hop on hop off bus for 5 pecos (use it all day) as Varadero is too far to walk, but only half hour bus drive as they have to stop at all the resorts on the way there.
