Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Location location

If you go, get an oceanfront room preferably in the Bimini section 2nd floor. The view is beautiful. Overall I felt I got more than what I paid for. Food was good at the buffet with a few stand out dishes over the week. The cafe al a carte was very good so we went there twice. I had a good curry salmon at the Asian as well. The beach had a little seaweed but was a nice white soft fine sand and you could walk for km's. In the am the water level was high and the bottom was sand. We had a couple small schools of fish follow us around then had a bigger fish join in for a bit. There are only two bars but waits were short and the alcohol was above normal bar grade. The Ricardo Gold and Dark Rum were very good. Yes they could address some of the small things like towel availablilty in the rooms, a coffee shop open early, stocking the room fridge, free room safe, but they do offer trapeze and paintball which is not a normal inclusion. There is no problem getting chairs on the beach any time of day, no need to get up at 6am like most places.

Viva Wyndham Fortuna Beach: Average Resort

The beach had rocks along the length of it so you had to be careful when trying to wade out. One main swimming pool that the seagulls would dive into to drink water from while you are swimming and also drop their food into. They came and took the towels every morning and didn't return them till late afternoon so you were left the whole day with no towels in the room. They tried to have a variety of food and themed food nights too. The gym was very hot as the fans didn't do much to cool the place down. The staff were really friendly. Though it seemed like the resort was catered to the Italians (children's songs were mostly Italian in the nightly show and they even put on an Italian comedy) and most of the activity and entertainment staff were more fluent in Italian than English. The nightly entertainment was excellent especially their trapeze and Lion King show. They had a different nightly theme too with props to go along with it.

The Reef Atlantis: Loved it but......

My husband & I and our 9 year old son went to Atlantis, stayed at the Reef and really loved it! We loved the location (away from all the cruise visitors). The staff and wait service were wonderful and the food was amazing! Glad we bought the dining plan as I feel it was really worth the money. The only bad experience was that my purse was stolen on our last night. I set the tote down while we were having pictures taken in front of an aquarium and my purse was gone in minutes. Security did find i [... read more]t in a washroom an hour later with all the money / wallet/ phone / glasses etc gone but thankfully the thief left behind my ID. Security was kind and tried to be helpful but I was surprised that someone from the management team or customer service did not contact us at all. They were opening an investigation but still have heard nothing 3 weeks later and there are a lot of cameras throughout the resort so it's surprising there has been no info on the theft. I travel a lot an usually of something goes wrong you can expect management to contact you and try and help or do something nice. Unfortunately in our case Atlantis management did not contact us at all so that is disappointing....

Breezes Bahamas: Great people

The hotel was dated and our first room was awful! Supposed to be upgrade to deluxe garden view but all we had to look at was the back of the building with a hammock- no patio furniture for 3 of us - we were moved and spent the rest of the vacation trying to get a third chair for our patio. Th phone was a shell with no working parts and even though we asked for a working phone every day it never appeared! Riu Palace Paradise Island: Loved my time here

We had an awesome time as I have been to Bahamas many times before. The resort needs a facelift but the staff make up for it.. it definitely isn't like staying at an all inclusive resort like you would in Dominican but Bahamas it's self has lots to offer being that it is so safe you can practically venture off the resort and go anywhere. Once there is more of a face life and more food options I think they will score big with the property being on PI right next to Atlantis with out being so b [... read more]usy.

Breezes Bahamas: Great resort and great booking!

Miranda Mawdsley was a great travel agent and was very professional. She answered all of my questions and made sure that my needs were met. I would highly recommend her! The resort was also amazing and the location was great. Bahamas overall is such a beautiful place to go.

Friendliest staff ever. Hotel is a bit worn, we had booked a deluxe garden patio, and ended up with a room patio that looked out onto a brick wall, discarded old shoes, and a hammock, no other chairs or furniture. not sure how the three of us were to sit and enjoy the patio with one hammock. the staff did finally change our room to accommodate a proper patio with chairs. food was excellent. No information from westjet re transfers to and from the airport. Have never had this experience before. there has always been someone with signs at the airport, and a book with transfer info to the airport,, not this time.

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Amazing Resort & Expierience

This was our first time visiting a Sandals, and it will surely be difficult to find a comparable vacation place! From check in to check out, were were treated with the best service and it was worth every penny! Already planning our next stay at their new Barbados location.

The Beach at Atlantis: Terrible Beach Tower

The beech tower was in bad shape. The room beside us was half gutted and doors left wide open with a chemical smell. We had to move out of the tower. We paid over $550.US to move to the royal tower. The room quality was excellent. The all inclusive plan was well organized and the food was better than any other all inclusive packages that we have been a part of. The restaurant dinning exceeded our expectations. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Our 3rd time here in the last year - not impressed this time

Some staff were rude, headphones we left in our room when we checked out - weren't returned to the lost and found, pools were used by local children who were there for a track meet with no supervision. Not impressed!

Breezes Bahamas: Best Vacation Spot in Nassau, Bahamas

We spent 7 days on Paradise Island in May-2017, stayed in Comfort Suites. The weather was excellent. Did not rent a car, walked everywhere. Transfer from airport to hotel was included, had to get a taxi for the commute back. Liquor store (Bristol) on Paradise Island is adequate, no need to go to Nassau. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Below Average Service

This was our second time going to the Melia Resort in 3 months. We first visited the resort in February 2017 with a large group of friends. At this time, we were very pleased with the resort, grounds, food and our room. We ended up going back just this past week with our friends and we both brought our children. We wanted to share our experience with them. This was the first time we had taken a family vacation in over 10 years. While the food and resort itself was still good, we had an i [... read more]ssue with a cockroach in my son's room and after speaking to the front desk about this, I was assured they would investigate and advise of what they would do to compensate for this inconvenience. I had to keep going down to the front desk to find out what was going on with the situation. I was advised they removed the cockroach but the Maintenance Manager was always in a meeting or busy with a customer and could not talk to me. We were there 4 days and the trip cost us over $7800 plus the incidentals we required to take this trip. Needles to say, not getting a call or the opportunity to speak with the manager and thus be compensated for this did not sit well with me or my family. My family has expressed disdain in going back to this resort. Not a good first impression to my children. Also, two of the boys with us were just sitting at the Adult pool listening to music, not doing anything and were asked to leave the area. While I appreciate this is an adult pool, there wasn't any events going on at the time and no music was even playing. It was near the end of the day and there wasn't a lot of people around. Then, not even an hour later, I personally saw the Lifeguard take a small child from the family pool who was unattended to the Adult pool where his parents were. I would think if children aren't allowed at the adult pool, it should be consistent for all children. The two boys asked to leave were 15 years of age, not 5 as the little boy escorted by the Lifeguard. I am still hoping someone will not just read this, but respond and perhaps rectify this. I am not happy at all that we were not considered important enough to be compensated, especially when we were just there in February for a week. I will look at other resorts for future family vacations, which is a sin because we did enjoy the Melia before this trip.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Excellent stay

Food was good, plus each room has a bottle of rum, gin, vodka and scotch + mix and 4 Heinekens in it. Room had nice hardwood floor, spacious as well. Quick to get a drink but everyone seems to go to the Atlantis Casino at night so there isn't much nightlife. Beautiful beach and excellent value for our money.

The Beach at Atlantis: Family vacation

Nothing but good things to say about Atlantis hotel- grounds are spectacular, very friendly staff, clean rooms, breathtaking beach, lots for children to do and the list goes on! My family and I will definitely be revisiting!

Breezes Bahamas: Amazing Beach

It was a Great resort, a little dated, but has a clean white sandy beach, with a good variety of food choices. It also has an attentive hardworking staff. They Could use a few more umbrellas around the pool for shade. A little hard to get a chair by the pool with one. It had a very safe and friendly atmosphere.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Good

Rooms clean, beach and pools good, good food, pool bar service slow unless you give tips, I like to tip for good service not to get it! Nice walkable beach. New casino next door if you like that, very nice high end building.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Great place to stay for all eleven of us!

My husband and I,and our adult kids, recently stayed at the Melia Nassau Resort. Also along for the vacation was my brother-in-law, his wife and nine year-old daughter ( eleven of us in all). Every one of us had a fantastic time! The resort has beautiful grounds with three pools, two hot-tubs and lovely fountains and flowers. Everything was nice and clean, including all six rooms. The staff were all very kind and accommodating and provided us with everything we needed. Entertainment was gr [... read more]eat! A show every night with good dancers and fantastic singers. After that was a DJ for the partiers. Food was plentiful and very, very good. Even when all eleven of us sat down together. We will definitely be returning!

The Beach at Atlantis: Good resort however dated

Stayed in the villas not the actual tower. Liked being in a villa that was close to pool, lazy river, marine life. Rooms were dated for the price but clean enough. Service was good. Renos should be considered to bring Beach and Coral Towers up to same calibre as the Royal Tower. However for the price you get a lot included such as waterpark and use of pools in all areas. Huge place, good walking exercise if shuttle not used. Lots of pools, kids areas, marine life, activities. Right by the beach [... read more] and different beach areas - regular vs. lagoon which was good on the one day waves were rough at the main beach. Waterpark great! Food is way too expensive and not worth the price. Did not do a dining plan because estimated amount to be spent would be less and it prevented overeating. Preferred quick bite/casual spots over fine dining. Lunch place at Beach Tower was not always open so was better to hang out at the Royal Tower. Weather was amazing! Place was not crowded generally either cause of size or time of year. Got a $150 resort credit to be used on anything from booking with Trip Central. Liked cashless system and charging to room so valuables don't need to be taken with you. Lockers available in pool areas though. Rating this based on my trip priorities which is generally amenities and activities available vs. food and accommodation.
