Mixed feelings

It is a very disorganized hotel, and it took us well over 2 hours to get to our room. We were sent from one area of the lobby to the next three times before the check in process even started. Then we were sent to another counter to get the key for the safe. Of course after that we were sent to another line to the "cashier" who advised us that we did not need to make a deposit and handed us the instructions for the safe. Other than the years worth of soap scum in the shower stall, the room was kept pretty clean. The mini fridge was only stocked with three beers only when we left a significant tip. Otherwise the fridge guy left it completely empty. The food was good, there were lots of options and many of them were delicious. The snack bar is a buffet of lunch leftovers sitting in the heat for hours on end. We tried to order room service the first night as we arrived late and we were told it is not available after 10pm. We went to bed hungry that night. When we asked the front desk the next day the lady called room service and gave them a hard time, so we did get room service on subsequent days. The beach is man made, very icky to step on with a LOT of seaweed and even mud on the bottom. It is hard to swim because it fluctuates, so you may be 10m out and feel seaweed brushing your leg or belly. Some of the servers were amazing though, and we did have a good time in spite of all the issues. We were approached by 80% of the staff trying to sell us all kinds of drugs. Many of the describes upgrades for the royal golden were not received, but the view was nice.

Inconsistent service

We are returning clients to Bahia Príncipe chain( 4 times, first time in Jamaica). Service at this hotel,restaurants and rooms is inconsistent. Food is good , rooms and halls in the hotel could be cleaner. Beach is nice, but looks like is difficult to manage such a huge hotel and provide consistent service, they struggle. Staff is not going the extra step to make a difference.

Displeased with my stay.

Some of the staff were unapproachable. I waited 3 house for ice one night and an hour another night. Twice I came back late in the afternoon and my room was not clean and I had food from the night before. I will go to Jamaica again but I will not stay at Grand Bahia Principe Jamaica.

One love Jamaica

This resort was fantastic. My family enjoyed the food and the ocean was the best that I have been in with all our travels. The only negative thing we experience was the main dining room in the evening, it was hot. Otherwise great resort. Will definitely go back in a heartbeat.

Good Resot

Everything from alexandra biddle from Trip central was absolutely fantastic she was thorough informative and extremely pleasant to us. The Grand Bahia was a great resort. They could use some work on their house keeping and a few other small areas but the foodand atmosphere was nice.

Great resort

Nice hotel landscaping is beautiful and well kept. Food was not so good, service was ok not everyone greet you..DId not like them selling me time sharing. be careful. people on vacation got hook into this it can't be cancel because it is a contract. this shouldn't be allowed on the resort. Forks, spoons and knives are set on all the tables at the snackbar outside, were open and not wrapped flies were on them. I heard people complaining saying that's not hygienic at all. This is something [... read more] upper management should address this is not hygienic. Snack bar is open all day to get different kind of food great location very quiet.

Simply Amazing!

The hotel rooms were clean, the property was well kept, staff was friendly, and overall atmosphere enhanced the "vacation" feeling. There were many activities to choose from during the day and at night!

Fantastic stay at the Príncipe!!

The overall quality of this resort was top-notch. Employees were friendly, food was fantastic, grounds were well kept, pools were amazing and drinks were non-stop!!! The Don Pablo French a la carte was especially good with excellent service and beautiful food. We would recommend to anyone as a great place for a getaway!!

Wow wow wow!!!!

Resort was amazing!!! Staff were great and friendly, and the food was great. Would have been better if there weren't people on every corner trying to get you to attend their presentation to join the privileges club

Beautiful Resort...

First off, let me start by saying that the staff at the Gran Bahia Principe Jamaica are some of the most welcoming, friendly, amazing people in Jamaica! Special recognition goes to Diana Lewis Orene (front desk) and the bartenders , our Housekeeper, for making us feel very welcome, always stopping to have a conversation and see how we were doing (and remembering our names - nice touch!) - and Sheniqua the waitress on the privilege bar she was fantastic. The buffet, was a very good Varity, It was [... read more] nice to see staff always have a smile on his face, was so friendly and welcoming, and some made a point to call your name and say hi every time they saw us t. We were located in the 23712 .. All I can say what a beautiful view.. OMG .. breathtaking … . Great location – The grounds and facility is spotless… The le crates where good as well nice mixture…Even though the resort is big , it was beautiful lots to walk around and see. The beach on that side was amazing, plenty of shade, great sand and clear water, which is only about 5ft deep for a good 60-80m out, thanks to a rock wall out in the distance to break the surf up. The bars were easily accessible, and there were plenty of sun loungers available on the beach. I have to say the workers are very hard working employees. I hope the management recognizes just how hard they work because without them our stay would have been as enjoyable.

Beatiful grounds and beaches

Hotel was beautiful , beaches are the nicest we've seen. Service at bars and checkout was lacking. Housekeeping was great. Not overly friendly like Dominican. Often ran out of drinks or just didn't want to make them if they required work ie blender. Really hard to get basic things like coffee. I would go back to Jamaica but not this resort

Best resort!!!!

This hotel was AMAZING!!! We were upgraded to the luxury part but still spent most of our time in the regular part with no issues. Beautiful beach. Beautiful people. Service was impeccable. We had our wedding there and honestly couldn't have gotten better service.

Excellent resort!

This was my 4th visit to this resort in the last 5 years. The last 2 times we have stayed for 10 days and we are thinking about making it 2 weeks next year. The hotel grounds and beach are kept in excellent shape. Staff are friendly. Plenty of security present but resort is self contained making it difficult for any unwanted visitors.

Don Pablo never fails to impress!!

This was our third stay at a Bahia Principe and our first trip to Jamaica. Everything was perfect, the room, the staff, the food, pool and beach access were all amazing. We attended a wedding which was also wonderful even though it rained the staff quickly moved the service indoors. Highly recommended to visit bahia principe jamaica.

Loved it

Great hotel and value for the price. Loved the food and the rooms. The beach close to the nudist beach is the nicest. The other beach were the activities are is not as nice because it is smaller and the bottom is rough on feet when u enter water. My only negative comment is that the bars often run out of rhum! We are in Jamaica so how can they run out of rhum. This happened daily at the pool bar they had beer but I didn't want beer. Hotel staff seems to be very unfriendly

my room was good we went with a wedding group of a 120 people and half the people had problems with their rooms leak or lights were not working. fridge was not working. even the bride and groom had to move.

Great looks, terrific food, but not much else

This resort is well kept and maintained. However there is no beach to speak of and the little access there is is a real turn off due to some intense sewer gas smell coming from the sea. Entertainment at night not great at all.

Beautiful resort

It was a very nice resort. but there was only one buffet since we couldn't use the other buffet for exclusive part of the resort. Our room in 15 section on the first floor was very noisy during the night.

AMAZING STAY!

Second time at this beautiful resort! No issues with anything! Great food, great people, great weather! Trip central was great too, travel agent Julie Bond was very knowledgeable and answered all my questions, as shes been to this resort!

Fabulous Resort

Our family of 5 (Dad, Mum, 15 year old boy, 18 year old girl and 92 year old Granny) stayed at this resort from March 10 to March 20 and had a fabulous time. The resort while having many rooms, never seemed crowded anywhere (beach, pool, restaurant, lobby, etc.). The service was great with the staff being very attentive and pleasant. Our favourite daily activities were throwing a Frisbee during afternoons in the hip deep water on the westernmost beach (the only beach worth being at on the resor [... read more]t), happy hours at the "secret" martini bar located on a deck over the ocean while watching the sunset, and sipping a nighttime cocktail while watching the okay nightly entertainment under a star filled sky. The buffet was generally very good with lots of variety, albeit didn't vary much from day to day. The al a Carte restaurants were all good witht he exception of the Gourmet which was VERY slow and frustrating the night we were there. HINT: make sure you book the restaurants AS SOON AS YOU ARRIVE (even before you get to your room). We also rented a car for three days and visited the Blue Mountains, Mayfield Falls, and Mystic Mountain. Thanks Jamaica for a wonderful vacation. Yea Mon, no Problem !! The TP's.
