Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: I would go back.

We had a nice getaway. People helpful and friendly. Food ,not great but good. Our room and maid were good. TV reception weak. The beach was fantastic, lots of palapas and loungers. The entertainment was good in the evening. Also at the restaurants the music was very nice.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: It was absolutely amazing

The grounds were beautiful and so well kept with all the gardeners. The food was fabulous, always plenty of fresh fish fruits, meats and desserts were fabulous! I would highly recommend this hotel. It is only rated as a 3.5 star but really and truly it should be a 5 star. No complaints from me at all!!! I plan on going back to this same place in the future. Room service everyday and clean. We actually had toilet paper delivered when needed also which is a shortage there! (LOL) I also felt very safe there. They had security everywhere.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Best Resort in Varadero

Well kept. Everyting worked. There was no coffee making in our room. But I was told that I just should have asked for one. The food was very good. The grounds were well kept. My only conplaint would be that you can hear your neighbours out on the balconies, and you can smell their cigarette smoke. But once you close your patio doors it's okay. We didn't spend a lot of time at the room. There are plenty of bars. You don't have to go far for a drink. The service is verry good.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Loved this Resort…so peaceful!

I needed a restful vacation to relax and destress and this was the perfect place. I did not want to leave. The beach is beautiful, the food was nice and the workers were friendly. I enjoyed the entertainment; especially the guitar player and the saxophonist.

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Always great

This is the 3rd time in under a year we have been to this resorts. We like the freedom of this location beeing right in town We can walk any place we want and have options for different restaurants if we want . The food is always consistent and good and never have a hard time finding food to eat. The beach is the best and we have the last 2 times stayed in the eco rooms in block 2 and have no complaints.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Royalton Nicaso Luxury resort and spa varadero cuba

We had many problems at the hotel, first they could not supply us with a room with 2 beds and we viewed 5 rooms and none were any better than the next.so they had to bring a cot in and set it up in the seating space. The resorts rooms are very dated with showers all rusted , patio doors very very hard to open, was not able to control air conditioner in your room set at one temperature always which during the day made it very hot, and the last day our air conditioner decided not to work. The bl [... read more]ow dryers are ancient and burnt my friends hair pieces of her hair came out. None of the bathrooms on the property other than your rooms had toilet paper , ran out of all different kinds of liquor, juices fruit, would not recommend this hotel as a luxury hotel maybe a 3star

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Definitely be back

We stayed here at Bella Vista and they exceeded all my expectations and we will definitely be back.. We've been to Cuba probably over 10 times and this for me was my best experience, the savings was a bonus..

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Good Resort

The first room we checked in to was dark and outdated. The toilet wasn't working well. We upgraded to royal service room and it was amazing except for one big complaint. No north American plugs in the room to charge your cell phones and so each night we had to ask lobby or snack bar to charge our phones. We stayed in room 7256 and it was awesome except for the charger situation. There is a USB plug under the TV but it works slower than molasses. People are friendly at this resort. You can find her in the lobby every day. I highly recommend the day tour in to Havana to see Tropicana. It was beautiful show. Pool is clean at this hotel surrounded by beautiful birds singing. They have lots of activities. Salsa with Kevin and Laudy is so fun. Would come back again.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: This resort is a gem for those looking for romance, relaxation and stellar service

We have returned to this resort 4 times in 17 months and each trip has been amazing! We have celebrated an anniversary and 50th birthday at the resort during these vacations as well. We have been amazing at the attention to details for these two celebrations and the enthusiasm and kindness of the staff. The beach is breathtaking, the food has been excellent with lots of variety, the staff will try their hardest to accommodate any requests you may have. They are friendly, kind and always smiling. [... read more] The rooms for both the regular Jr suite and the upgraded Royal package are both amazing value. The Royal package lives up to the name and you are treated Royally! The deep soaker jetted tub, Buttler service and patio area will add to the relaxation and the romance! We love this resort and it’s stellar staff and will continue to book here in the future.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Sick upon arriving home.

This resort is old and ugly, esp the lobby and the NON royal service section. Rooms are like dark dungeons in the non Royal Service section. Our first room did not have hot water or a working toilet, and the front desk would not help us until we contacted Trip Central and the Sunwing Rep and threatened to sue. They upgraded us to Royal Service which was not much better. No water pressure, and luke warm water at best. Not enough towels in the room, and maid would not change towels to clean  [... read more]ones when they were clearly dirty, I have never encountered this on any all inclusive in cuba or otherwise. Please note we tipped the maid $3 per day plus $10 in give aways DAILY. WE TIPPED VERY WELL and GAVE A LOT OF BRAND NEW GIFTS. So clearly this is not an incentive to change your dirty towels. There was not enough beach towels to exchange on a daily basis. Further, no beach towel service exchange at Royal Service which is closer to the beach and far from the other part of resort where you had to exchange towels. So much for royal service ... I would like to mention the butler service is pathetic and it should be removed and not mentioned as it is a lie, we never saw our butler not once. They further gave us a courtesy room that we booked in advance to freshen up before our flight after an excursion and the room had NO towels... again NOT ENOUGH CLEAN TOWELS. so what's the point? This sums up how this resort works, nothing sticks together. Food was awful and tasteless, its like being on a diabetic diet all week... i would compare the food to hospital food Very boring resort as well and the beach was nice, but not nearly as nice as cayo coco or cayo santa maria. Overall I found this resort to do the bare minimum. They did not have two beds for me and my friend when we arrived although its what we paid for..... and lied the resort was full and shoved us at night after all day traveling in a one bed room with no hot water OR working toilet. I do not recommend this resort, and quite frankly i don't think others are much better. Beach was windy. On top of everything we are both very sick upon arriving home although we did leave the resort for excursions. The only good thing is you never had to reserve a sun chair at pool or beach. Overall a hard no, and overall VARADERO is a hard no for beach go to cayo coco where people are more friendly, ,its cheaper, and beaches are nicer. .... Cuba has really gone downhill since I last visited in 2014. Further, the resort lacked basic hygiene in bed sheets, towels, cups, plates were all very dirty. I will not recommend this resort to anyone and I will not be coming back.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Great resort!

Beth suggested the Melia Peninsula and it was a great hotel. The staff were very friendly and attentive. It was a quiet resort, which was perfect for us. The food was good; we had no problem eating more than we should have - the fresh made pasta and omelettes were a hit. The beach and pool were lovely, and we had no trouble getting a lounger (didn't have to race down early to get a spot). noliDUO Havana Varadero: Will not choose it again

The service was good. The staff was great. The hotel was clean,but very humid. The smell of dampness in the room and all the clothes wet. Also met a few cockroaches in the room and the main buffet. The hotel was not full so there were always sunbeds available and no long lines for drinks or food. Fresh pasta station was good.The beach is kind of incaved that gives some privacy but also smaller area and not the greatest view. Overall we made it a good time but will not choose it again.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Wonderful Vacation

This resort is very beautiful. The staff were very friendly. The rooms were wonderful and we paid extra for an ocean view which was well worth it. I liked the fact that the balcony was in the shade.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Bang for your buck

Considering the economic situation in Cuba right now, and many complaints from visitors, the staff remain in such high spirits, and are doing their best with what they have. Low on supplies, including toilet paper, and some amenities need repairing in hotel rooms, such as shower heads. But the staff and breathtaking beach makes up for it.

Melia Las Americas: A Diamond in the Rough Resort!!!

Whether you're an avid golfer or not, this resort is a guaranteed great vacation in Varadero, Cuba! We had a wide variety of food items to choose from everyday and lots of beverages to wash it all down! There were lots of activities to choose from and great quality entertainment on most days. The service is pretty good and the staff are all very friendly! And of course - The Beaches are Awesome! Can't wait to go backl

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: AMAZING

IT WAS A GREAT PLACE, AMAZING PEOPLE AND STAFF STAFF.WERE WONDERFUL GREAT ATMOSPHERE GREAT ENTERTAINMENT. WE WERE A GROUP OF 19 PEOPLE THEY ACCOMODATE US IN THE RESTAURANTS. PEOPLE THERE ARE VERY NICE AND HELPFUL, I HAD MY ADULT SON WHO USES A WALKER , MOST OF THE THINGS WERE ACCECCABLE ( EXCEPT THE SANDY BEACH I WILL GO BACK THERE EVERY YEAR! IT HELPS TO BRING SMALL GIFTS TO GIVE AS TIPS ,IT IS HIGHLY APPRECIATED.

Melia Las Antillas: Relaxing , good food

Some rooms not used , hotel was not at full capacity. Food was plentiful and drinks were good . Staff is friendly and rooms were clean . We did move from the first room as it was very run down and musty but second room was good

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Disaster vacation

For starters the flight was delayed by 28 hours. We finally arrived at the resort late, then we went to the “snack bar” which only had half cooked patties/boiled hotdogs with no buns, ketchup or mustard which was false advertising so we got sick our first night. The next day during breakfast we were hoping to replenish all the food we threw up the night prior and realized they were yet again short of everything with slim to no options. I tried getting bacon and it was raw. The fish and meat the [... read more]y only cook on one side and when we asked for it to be flipped they blatantly ignored us which is super disrespectful. As a non alcohol drinker they only ever had “orange Fanta” which was super watered down. during the duration of the trip we still didn’t have regular items that were advertised on the Sunwing website. My wife got a water and it had some sort of mold or gunk in it and it made her sick on our catermaran excursion. We got scammed when taking out money from the atm at the resort for Cuban pesos saying they didn’t have usd or cad. The hotel advertises that they can exchange multiple currencies. Then when we decided to go use the money it had less value then what we were told. This was supposed to be our honeymoon after recently getting married and will never be returning to Sunwing or Cuba especially. Super disappointed and disgusted. Almost all food was inedible. Not looking for a compensation voucher or travel credit. We are looking for a full refund. Thanks.

Barcelo Solymar: Terrible

Should have listen to reviews and stayed home. Worst vacation ever in 20 years. Stay away and safe your money. We are not fussy but this was the worst of the worst. Nothing to eat, no bars at beach, no entertainment….on and on and on

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Great resort

Grand Aston Varadero is a really beautiful resort where I've built great memories with friends and met amazing friendly staff. The food, the beach, the activities keep you entertained all day and night. The only negative comment I have is that the room service is not very sufficient. For example, the towels are never changed during the whole week and the washroom is not well maintained. But the beds are made and floors mopped.
