Bahia Principe Explore La Romana: Nice Resort

We liked the hotel.The grounds were beautifully maintained.The restaurants were extremely nice,although the service in the main buffet restaurant was seriously below standards .We loved the beach restaurant ! Staff there were very attentive.During our stay they removed the wicker tables and chairs and painted them white.It smelled absolutely horrible during the last few days of our stay.The entertainment was also not the best. We loved the beach and the food and our room.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Worth the money

The hotel was beautiful. The rooms (we had ocean front) were very nice and comfortable. The cleanliness was outstanding accross the entire grounds, never once was there an issue with any public restroom or eating place the whole two weeks we were there. I would highly recommended this to those who want to relax and get away from it all.

The hotel is clean but difinitely lots of room for improvement. I was VIP with a royal golden package and feel that this upgrade didn't really make any difference. At the bar in the lobby the selection of drinks were minimum or hardly no selection what so ever. In the lounge for Royal Golden members the selection was hardly anything. As for room service , their was no menu in our room to choose for room service and the menu was basically salads, nachos , hot dogs or hamburgers. It seemed that when you ask for something or any help what so ever , the staff would always say give me a few seconds and thrn you would be waitingmore thsn minutes. They certainly were in no hurry to be prompt with customer service. I have tried this resort and will never go back there again!

they are good in very ways from staff to foods to accomodation only just small items that is not great, the serving bars they should have a number for each customers because some of them is just come in and they are served it should be first come first serve by the numbers for fairnees. and some restaurant like the le gourmet they need to be up-graded in service but it is okay for me by now. thanks

This resort exceeded our expectations. The people were so friendly and helpful, the grounds were kept very clean and the food and dining was outstanding. Could use more bars and experienced bartenders.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Luxurious resort !!!

Beautiful rooms and beautiful beach area. If you are a Non smoking person, this resort is great because they have designated smoking area especially in the lobby and beach area. Surprisingly, there were fewer smokers than expected from this luxurious resort. The entertainment crews are very funny.

Clean clean clean!!! This resort is very well taken care of and the rooms, bedding, bathroom, towels were always clean. The king size was very comfortable. Pool was also very clean and water clear. The staff are amazing!!! Can't say enough about the staff!

the grounds were picture perfect the washrooms were very clean the hotel rooms were nice over all the resort was in excellent shape and well kept the only thing I can say that was bad they ran out of rum in the pool bar and beer

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Definitely Lives Up To It's Name --- LUXURY

We've been to many 4 star a few 5 star resorts, but this one was tops for us so far. The food was always top notch and a nice variety. We tried the Al A Carte restaurants, but found the buffet just as good if not better. The grounds are meticulously kept and are picture worthy everywhere we went, even on the Grand Bahia side which is for families and a lot busier. The beach and pool areas were not crowded and we could always find nice seating, although if you want a 'front and center' lounge you'll have to reserve early (we didn't, so no problems). We plan on going back....we were that impressed. Okay....so now the BAD. Public Smoking should be outlawed....PERIOD !!! It wasn't and it was pretty prevalent everywhere we went (except in dining rooms). But all of the outdoor bars and entertainment areas are VERY poisoned with it. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Fantastic vacation!

No problem with the check-in, got our room a bit earlier than expected. Amazing room - big and we'll maintained. We had a coffee maker and coffee was stocked every day, as well as pop and beer in the minifridge. Bed and pillows were very comfortable. The maids made decorations with the towel and curtains. We also had a turn-down service - including chocolates. Food at buffet was excellent, lot of choices. Went to 3 à la carte restaurants, all very good. Excellent service from the employees, the [... read more]y remembered our name the first day. No problem getting a palapa in the morning, lot of beach chairs. Great beach with amazing view of the sunset. Enjoyed the pool with swim up bar. We loved that there was an "Employee Recognition" on Sunday. Thumbs up to the manager. We would return to this resort in a heartbeat!

This is by far the most beautiful resort my husband and I have had the luxury of visiting. The food is 5* all the way.......we can't stop raving about it! I will definitely be returning. Go Dreams Go!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Paradise!!!

Such a clean and friendly resort. The gardens were beautiful, the pool area was spotless and had a cool pool bar. One of the guys working the bar was called Jorje, great guy and really funny. Food was surprisingly really good. Lots of choices with lots of a la cartes. Welcome cocktail at breakfast every morning, Marmosa's, Bloody Mary's etc. Beach games, Pool games, night shows, disco, unique shopping, excursions, they really have it all. I really recommend booking with Bouganville instead of L [... read more]a Romana. The reason is that Bouganville is right next to it but cozier and quieter. For the extra price it gives you premium drinks, (Jameson, Jack Daniels, Ceasers, Amaretto, etc). Not only that but it gives you access to a quieter beach, nice white linen sun bed things, quieter pool. Its exclusive, and you get access to the other resort. If your there to relax and maybe party, book Bouganville. If your there to party all the time, book La Romana. Im going back!

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best vacation in twenty years.

This all inclusive vacation was perfection. The rooms, staff, beach, pool and the food was outstanding. I have never been treated so well. I find myself looking back at the resort after returning wishing I was still there. Thank you for making me feel like I was truly on vacation.

This resort was amazing. They went above and beyond to make each individual feel special. Our butler was amazing and booked all our a la cartes for us. The grounds were stunning and the beach was large with lots of chairs to choose from in either the sun or shade. The food was good and the rooms clean and beautiful.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Beautiful and So Clean but lacking in some areas

The grounds at this resort are stunningly beautiful and all areas are kept spotlessly clean! Rooms were lovely and very well maintained (except for the tv, which never worked at all) The food was good enough, but no comparison to other resorts we have stayed in Punta Cana area such as The Ocean Blue and Sand and Now Larimar. The buffet lacked a proper set up, and they should look at the flow and set up separate stations for self serve items away from the poor chef trying to do omlettes, etc. on  [... read more]the flat top. Staff were warm and friendly, but the wait staff in restaurants and most bars almost made a career out of avoiding work. The exceptions to this were Adolfina and Jorge at the pool bar. They worked very hard from morning until night. The manager Manuela was a lovely woman and was always around and very accommodating. The butlers who are supposed to be at your disposal seem to go into hiding once you are situated in your room. This was a comment made by many we met. Overall, they seemed to have tons of staff, but only a small proportion of them seemed to be doing all the work. This hotel caters to Francophones, to the extent we would find introductions at Managers parties, etc. with French as the first language, rather than Spanish. A large group of 140 arrived from Quebec and Montreal while we were there and would basically take over the area in front of the swimup bar and not move away. I know there are many nice French speaking people, but many of these were quite loud and rude. Entertainment was a bit repetitive and they played music that catered more to the older crowd. If you are over 40 and looking for a quiet, relaxing vacation, this is a good place to go. Overall, for a "luxury" adults only, I guess we expected a little bit more for our money.

My girlfriend and I had a wonderful time at this resort. The food was fantastic, the pool was beautiful and the beach area quiet and peaceful! We had some problems with power outages (3 times) but who cares, you're on vacation!! Overall I would reccommend this resort to anyone!

All in all this “luxury”resort is far, far behind the standard in Punta Cana. This resort was occupied at least by 85% by French speaking travelers and returning travelers that had significant impact on the service for the rest. There was a preferential treatment for returning travelers. When more guests arrived to the resort a salad bar table with food has been removed to allow bring more dining tables. 2 days prior departure a cockroach running on the white tablecloth with the tea pots and [... read more] cups. Will not recommend this resort to any of my friends and even though love the beach and room will never return back. Beach- outstanding, clean, no seaweed. Room- spacious and clean, but every day something was missing-face cloth, bath towels or left only 1, etc…. Service- some staff very friendly, some not at all/ ignorant; had hard time to get a newspaper even though it was available. Food- very limited choice, poor selection. Impossible to get even a cup of good coffee, everywhere installed only the big commercial machines with pre-set choices. Milk was often missing or sour or replaced by the water. The machine wasn’t often working due to the missing water and no one was happy to exchange 18l water bottle when empty. This level of service is below our expectancy- promises never delivered, had to ask for basic stuff, hassle every step of the way.

Great resort. Everyone was friendly, rooms clean. Staff all accommodating. Second time there. Thoughly enjoy it. Entertainment good. Good service from waitress Could not ask for any more. May go back again.

Well maintained. Always quiet after 10 pm. Clean everywhere and maintenance always evident. Food good but not superb. Generally no trouble booking ala carte but restaurants seemed mostly empty even though fully booked. More staff may be required. Time share and condo sales people annoying. Beach minimal. Water toys extremely limited. Staff very good. Evening entertainment very limited . In adult only area, easy listening entertainment is available between 7 and 10 pm. Bar service in the area is  [... read more]however very slow strictly because of a lack of staff. Nightly shows need serious improvement. Activities could be better advertised. If you want a nice place to relax, this should be it, just don't expect high end entertainment, location, or perfectly clear ocean waters. Resort area is relatively small as compared to the average. Don Pablo needs to rethink the window between the bathroom and the bedroom. Purpose for this window is completely unclear. Translucent door to the toilet area adds to the issue. It is possible to watch someone having a shower or poop from inside or outside the room if drapes are not closed. Drapes to the bathroom are opened and closed from the bedroom side of the window. Most of the action is not at the adults only section but in the general non adults only area. Higher quality liquor costs extra (very expensive) but for most people included liquor selection is adequate. I would recommend this to persons that just want to relax with reasonable standards. I would not recommend this resort to people that want to snorkel from the beach, want crystal clear water, or want ready access to other water activities. If you want good entertainment, not so much. If you want to walk but stay on the beach or the resort, not so much. Overall better than most 4 stars due to resort cleanliness and service but not sure a 5 star rating is appropriate.

Catalonia Bayahibe: We really loved this resort!

This resort has a great casual atmosphere. The quieter location- 45 min from Punta Cana- is great. The food is terrific with 2 grills and other stations with made to order food each meal. There are also 3 restaurants you can eat in any 4 nights.We spent all our time on the beach but there is also one large pool. The staff are really great- friendly and helpful. Most of the staff speak very little English but it's easy to communicate and the front desk staff speak English.
