The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Amazing

Hotel was wonderful,their is not a bad view as you can see water from all directions , we had a view of the bay on the elevator side . Food was just average and there is premier liquor but you have to pay for it , this is the first for us. The grounds where beautiful, and the pool was wonderful. The animation team was the best . They would take time to get to know you , and always smiling. Thank you Alex , Caroline , Sexy, Edwardo, Amanda and the rest of the team .

Cayo Levantado Resort: We LOVED it!!

This is a top-notch resort in an absolutely breath-taking location! Our room was upgraded to a superior junior suite with an ocean view as it was my birthday. There was a birthday banner on the door and a bottle of champagne and chocolates inside. The island is not very big so everything is conveniently located, plus there are golf carts at your service 24 hours if you don't wish to walk. We were thrilled that there are 2 beaches! One with boisterous rolling waves, the other calm turquoise wat [... read more]er and golden sand. The main pool is also right by the beach, as is the lunch buffet. All our reservations for the 4 a la cartes were already taken care of for us when we arrived. The staff are kind, helpful and cheerful. We wished we could have stayed longer!!

Cayo Levantado Resort: It was the best vacation my husband and I had in a long time, if ever.

This was the third trip to the Dominican Republic, Each time we choose the Bahia Principe, but the Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado is the best of all. We were a little hesitant, because we are both 84 years old and it is pretty hilly and curvy. But we had no problem at all. We went to the ala Cart restaurants, also every waiter was friendly and helpful. Mr. Manaury who served us at the Medeteranian, also at the Portofino will be for ever unforgettable. About the food, in my opinion, is equally good at the buffet, as it is in the a la cart restaurants. The only different is, at the buffet you have more choices. The matress and pillows were very good, no problem with sleeping. Liza the young woman at the reservation desk for the a la cart restaurants. was outstanding for us, we had many conversations with her, she always took time to answer many questions we had. She has a very nice personality. We also met very nice people, like Mary and Chris, also Kim and Darryl, we will keep contact with them after our return.

Cayo Levantado Resort: EXTRAORDINARY – You will not be disappointed!

My husband and I went to the Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado from Oct. 9 – 16th. We loved it! From the very minute we walked onto the shuttle bus to transport us to the Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado hotel lobby, before boarding the boat to take us to the island, right down to the very minute when we had to leave the island to come home, we were treated like royalty. On the shuttle ride, our Air Canada Vacations representative did hotel introductions and information session on t [... read more]he bus. This was a brilliant idea, so that none of the guests aboard the bus had to miss anytime away from their vacation the next day meeting the rep – we all got to enjoy the islands beauty. Anytime you needed the Air Canada Vacations representative they were always accessible – He was very funny too! Upon arrival by boat at the hotel’s pier, we were greeted by the hotel staff’s genuine smiles, heartfelt welcome hello’s and warm towels to clean our hands. We were then guided to the buffet to get a bite to eat – this is a hotel that knows how to please their guests. Our boat arrived at 10:30 PM, the buffet closes at 10:00 PM every evening to all guests, and the hotel re-opened the buffet for the entire Air Canada Vacations group that had arrived. There was room service offered, but having freshly cooked food ready was an excellent touch especially from a long day of travel. The food throughout our stay was never a disappointment, always fresh and delicious. Our room was stunningly beautiful, very clean with outstanding views of the Samana peninsula. The hotel staff checked in on us a few times to see if we were ok and if we needed anything – you can see that they really care about their guests! The grounds men work very hard to keep the hotel and the lush surroundings in its highest shape. Restrooms, pool areas lobby and restaurants were clean, floors gleamed with shine! The wait staff are always pleasant and remember your coffee order  If there was one area of the hotel I had to provide feedback on would be the gym - It’s very small and only has a universal workout machine. Although my husband and I had brought our gear to workout, let’s face it our bodies needed a little rest and recovery and this was place for it!!! This resort is a 5-star in our eyes. I can’t wait until we visit Luxury Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado again. It’s unquestionably worth the trip!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Beautiful resort

We arrived on October 9th shortly after Marie. With all of the gardener you could not tell that a hurricane had just gone through the resort. The food, room, pools, beaches and staff where all excellent. The only complaint I would have to say is about how some of the other guests treatment of the staff. Very rude and disrespectful. All of the staff work very hard and deserve to be treated with respect.

The grounds were immaculate at all times.Never once heard a leaf blower, all raking was done manually. Tile pathways around pool and other area's were very slippery with even the slightest amount of water. outdoor beds tended to be damp most of the time, sheets were not changed after overnight rain. I was shocked that they would have my girlfriend and I sitting 12 rows apart, there were around 8 empty seats on the plane, they could and should have done better, a real disappointment, especially since I picked this resort because of WestJet, I did not want to fly with AirTransat because of their resent incidents of having people sitting on planes forever, and I did not pick AC because of their louse connections and airport layovers. I ended up buying plus seats, which were a good choice, but it was not part of the plan

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Really a paradise

We stayed at Luxury Bahia Principe Samana for one week between Sept 11 and 18 ; between two major hurricanes Irma and Maria, we were lucky to have the best weather we have had in three years. The hotel is relatively small At this time of the year was just half occupied. Secluded between hills with tropical forest and a peaceful cove this hotel offers a private beach with crystal limpid waters. (no rocks, no weeds ). We did not need to ask for anything; coffee, bottled water and alcoholic and soft drinks were replenished daily in the fridge, towels and sheets changed etc. The entertainment was great too. Really a five star hotel.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Excellent views!

Recently we stayed at the Grand Bahia Príncipe Cayacoa for our honeymoon and it was amazing! The hotel was clean and well taken care of, the staff and food were wonderful! We loved the elevator to the beach and many nightly entertainment options. The all inclusive made everything easy. We would have changed the fact that the beach is not fully private (some locals have access) and we would have liked more souvenirs. Overall a great experience we would recommend!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: One word AMAZING

I would like to thank Helen Cloutier for her proposition to go to El Portillo. It was exactly what she had said it would be. We had Villa 8 and it was in the center of the resort. The food very tasty both at the buffet and a la carte, vast variety and good, the beach was we just how we like it calm water and clean, weather was great except for one day. Viva V Samana by Wyndham: Second time better than the first!

This is a small adults only resort directly on Coson beach. This was our second visit within a year and we were very impressed that many of the staff remembered us. No reservations are required for any of the a la carted (3), free wifi throughout the resort as well as being able to change towels whenever you like. Food and drinks are top notch. The beach is beautiful and you can walk for miles in either way. We are already planning our third trip for next summer!

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Good resort if your a billy goat

We enjoyed our stay at the Bahia Principe Cayacoa. The food was excellent for the price. We were at the golden area and there are many stairs - 130 from bottom to top. It could be an issue for some if you aren't in shape. We found the beach lovely and always an abundance of chairs available. Our rooms were sufficient. The air conditioning didn't really cool the room to under 77 F. We found it difficult to sleep with the heat. Staff were great and overall we enjoyed our stay.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: amazing resort

excellent resort. the food was great at every meal, the select club option was amazing. food and drinks brought to you at the infinity pool by the beach. i had my daughter and 2 grand kids with me who are 3 and 5 years old. every day after breakfast we fed fish and turtles at the pond then chilled at the pools. a great kids club to paint and do crafts. the absolute best was the shows every night. the staff in the dance troop were so super friendly to my grandkids. they couldn,t wait to go every  [... read more]night and get hugs from all of them after the show. i was so impressed by their staff.

Wyndham Alltra Samana: For People Who Are There For The Weather

Don't look too closely and don't sweat the little things. There were minor imperfections such as a clogged drain, smoke detector that needed a battery, and the fridge that didn't work, but the service was great and the staff was polite. I enjoyed the food and had a lot to choose from.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great relaxing week!

My husband and I just came back from a week long vacation here. We had concern with it being a "low season" which would often mean rain and mosquitoes but there were absolutely NO mosquitoes on the island and it only rained briefly a couple of times! We kept seeing storm clouds over the main land but no clouds above. It felt like the mountains on the main land were attracting all the bad weather and we got all the sunshine :))) It's a laid back, relaxing kind of resort. Animation team is hilarious )as are a lot of the waiters in the restaurants), Amarillos and Kendrick in particular. They made it fun. My husband and I won a handful of prizes in the silly funny games they made us play at the beach and pool. I enjoyed water aerobics every day and my husband played beach volleyball. alrhough he said the volleyball is not the best because it's so close to sidewalk. 24 hour room service is a great perk! If it's raining or if you're too lazy to get out of bed, or if you need a midnight snack! Food was great in all buffets and restaurants. In restaurants, they will offer you a wine list for extra charge. If you don't want to pay, just ask them for house wine which is free. Also, every restaurant makes their own complimentary cocktail. We like that no one is expecting tips from you. We tipped anyway where we felt appropriate but there was no pressure to tip that you usually feel in Cuba. Wifi in the room was very good. We watched Netflix and used FaceTime no problem. Wifi at the beach is spotty. Drinks - you got to try the national liquor called MamaJuana :P :P Cleaning was great! They will clean your room twice a day sometimes! We also liked that the main beach and the main pool are right next to each other, so you don't have to walk far and you don't have to think where to go - it's all right there in one place. The "snack bar" is a full buffet right next to the pool (As opposed to just mediocre burgers and fries on the beach) All in all, we had the best time!

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Lovely resort

This is our second time visiting this resort and again we were not disappointed. The staff were friendly, food was fantastic with a huge variety every day, beach was excellent with great snorkelling right off the beach. The grounds were beautiful and well kept. We had another amazing vacation at the Grand Bahia El Portillo and would go back again. A lovely family resort.

This place is amazing if you're looking for a laid back tropical paradise. Beaches are stunning, water is beautiful and fun to play in. Rooms are very generous and we had the cheapest room at the resort! You should go check it out!

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great all-inclusive, but not "luxurious"

This is a great all-inclusive in an absolutely beautiful location, but if you're looking for something decidedly "luxurious" or "upscale" then you might need to look elsewhere and probably splurge and spend a bit more. We came for our honeymoon in mid-June 2017, after having had stayed here 5 years ago. We chose this resort because we particularly liked that it was on a quite and secluded island (it still is). The bus ride from the Samana airport was about 50 min-1 hour and the boat ride from t [... read more]he dock was about 10 minutes. There's not a lot to complain about, but there isn't much to be truly excited about either, with the exception of exquisite nature surrounding the grounds and the peace and quite pace of the resort. The food was average for an all-inclusive, including the a la carte restaurants. The a la cartes were better quality and flavour than the buffet, but we noticed that the quality of dinning had declined since we had last stayed. The gala dinner at the buffet was probably one of the better meals, but this is offered only once per week (on a Thursday when we went). There are three a la carte restaurants: Brazilian steakhouse (Rodizio?), Portofino, Mediterranean, and gourmet Don Pablo. Don Pablo was probably the best one with better quality and certainly better service. We skipped the Mediterranean because we went to the Gala dinner instead. It's really a hit or miss with the dishes, but the steak and lamb generally stood out to us. The general atmosphere was the same has it had been 5 years earlier--lots of vegetation; two regular pools, one large whirlpool, and a beach. We went in June (lower season) and were very happy at the lack of crowds and plenty of space in pools, lounge chairs and sun huts. The beach had two sides--one side was always windy and therefore the water was wavier (which can be fun), and the other side more calm. There was some seaweed but generally the beach was clean and tidy. Service was great for the most part. We were staying in a villa and were assigned a "butler" but we never saw the butler again after the first day. Not really sure what the purpose of the butler was besides helping guests to order special pillows and scents for the room. Room service was available but the food was limited and the quality was poor (pizza was not good)! Rooms were generally clean. We thought that the quality of cleaning service may have declined though because they no longer made those fancy towel swans or put flowers on the bed like they used to. The bathroom also had sewer odours on some days too, especially when it rained! Request for a higher floor for a better view! We have now stayed in a villa and in the main building (5 years ago), and the rooms are generally both pretty good as it is a smaller resort. All in all, this is a great all-inclusive uniquely situated on a beautiful island. I would recommend, but if you're looking for a truly luxurious experience you probably have to look elsewhere.

Cayo Levantado Resort: Great vacation

The hotel and grounds were beautiful. The beach was outstanding. Lots of shade everywhere. Food was great, friendly staff. We had issues with the toilet and safe in the room, but it was quickly fixed. Don Pablo restaurant was excellent, main buffet always clean with great selection. The beach buffet not so much, staff was sometimes inattentive. The evening shows need some improvement. In some areas sometimes there was a sewage smell, but it was not constant. Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Amazing Experience

The Resort was absolutely stunning. Food was amazing & felt like I was on a retreat. The staff treated me & my wife like royalty . We were celebrating our 40 Year anniversary & couldn't of picked a better place. We recently visited the Bahia Principe in Jamaica, & this one was defiantly our favorite. We will continue to recommendi Bahia Principe resorts to our family & friends.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: No Surprizes!

The resort was exactly what I expected. The scenery was spectacular, everything was very clean, pool and groubds were great. The beach was small but it had plenty of shade which os really important for me. The water was warm but a little murky. Its not the crystal clear pristine water but was fine for swimming. The food at the buffet was ok. I could find something I liked at every meal. The a la cartes were pretty good. My favorite was the Mediterranean. Overall for the price it was a great resort and I would recommend it.
