Zel Cozumel: Great food and drinks

Awesome drinks- carried a wide variety of drinks and even had crown royal on the bar! Consistently met our expectations- when you ordered a specific drink it tasted like it should, and the bartenders often suggested something delicious! Food was excellent! We thought we might get bored with the menu after 2 weeks, but they had an outstanding variety of food - even the menu on the a la carte changed. We also enjoyed the lunch a la carte, although service was often slow unless Martin was working. Rooms - rooms were very clean and very large, fridge was restocked everyday, and our housekeeping staff was very friendly. The only thing we would say is there isn't enough storage - there is more than enough room for a dresser so you have somewhere to put clothes. Beach was great, lots of space and good length for walking - not many places in Cozumel have a good beach. After the storm and lots of seaweed came ashore, those maintenance guys worked tirelessly to clear the beach so it was walkable again. They did an awesome job! Our only real complaint was the service on the pool bar. We started with Hilario (who was excellent) and then the next day for over a week we had a server (Alberto- I think) who we felt was just never happy. It was difficult to get a drink, and he didn't make any real effort to make your stay enjoyable. To his defence, there was often a ton of people waiting, so a second bartender throughout times in the day would be helpful. However the last 2 days we had Enrique who was amazing! Friendly, smiling all the time, and even offering you a drink without being asked. He was so fast and efficient, there was rarely a lineup. The final thing about this hotel is its proximity to the airport and downtown. Our pickup at the airport was awesome! As you got through customs, there were vans waiting to take you immediately to the hotel - it took 10 minutes to get there, and there was no lineup at check-in as they sent vans of 6-10 people as they arrived off the plane. Brilliant! The downtown core is very safe and we went in to restauants and to see live bands a number of times. Being so close was a huge bonus. It's 80 pesos to anywhere downtown- very reasonable. Overall we would definitely come back to this resort! The location, view, beach, adult pool, and staff (like Martin in the a la carte, Wilbert in buffet, all the front desk staff, the towel guy) made our stay amazing!

Allegro Cozumel: Great resort at a great price

Wonderful well-priced resort. Food and drinks great! Water and snorkelling great. Excellent service! Rooms clean, well-stocked, well-kept. A-la-carte restaurants all had great menus and service. Good time was had by all!

Allegro Cozumel: Fun in Cozumel

This hotel was great if you are an avid scuba diver or snorkeler. The pool and beach volleyball were great, however, there were very little activities for teenagers in the evenings which was disappointing. The beach was very disappointing....not really the white sand beaches I have heard about. The food at the restaurants was outstanding, however, the buffet meals remained just adequate. Allegro Cozumel: Nice friendly resort

Resort very nice, clean, friendly staff, amazing food & selection. Rooms very nice, especially 2nd floors. However last 3 days there was no hot water, the day we were leaving we had no water pressure at all.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Fantastic resort

The food was way above the quality of the many resorts we have been to. The coffee shop ice cream Cafe was an extra added bonus, which we utilized each day. There was plenty of activities to do for our family. The snorkelling right in front of the resort was beyond great! I only had 2 things that were not favourable to this resort. When looking for an outing you were constantly asked to do the time share presentation. The other, which did not affect our family, but could impact if you wanted to  [... read more]stay at the resort, is the fact that the beach area is small, and if you are a beach walker, this would not be the resort for you. We would gladly go back another time. The staff never expected tips (although we typically tipped a couple of dollars after meals).

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Nice clean resort. Great service.

Very well maintained all the way around. Excellent service. Excellent variety of drinks. Prompt and courteous service. Pools were great, but beach area was quite small and very rocky. Not enough beach chairs for guests.

Allegro Cozumel: this is a great Hotel!

The grounds and public areas are very well maintained. Food was very good, a great variety. If you were hungry when you left the restaurant it was your fault. Water pressure in the morning was poor and have a shower late afternoon before everyone else as hot water ran out quickly Great staff. Pay for everything in pesos as it works out cheaper than US of Canadian. We will go back!

Allegro Cozumel: Well above what we expected!

We stayed there the week of Feb. 12, 2016. For a 3 Star Resort we were really impressed. Didn't like our first room being too close to the disco...no problem, got moved. Good room other than the thatched roof allowed some sounds from the next room. Staff were super and friendly. Food, although a little limited it was better than expected - we were pleased by the buffet and the a la cartes. Good diving. Good beach and lots of umbrellas/trees. Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Great resort

We were not sure about this resort But we're we surprised. The staff are unreal. They are there to help in any way possible. The food was great. No shortage of choices. Snorkeling was really good just out in front. The only downfall to the resort that we found that there are not enough chairs in the main lobby area. We will be back.

Occidental Cozumel: Mexican jungle

Hotel was very pretty with lush tropical grounds and very cool iguanas. Nice beach with good snorkelling right there. Staff all very nice and helpful. Got a little tired of the buffets at lunch and dinner.

Allegro Cozumel: Great resort

Very clean, very friendly staff, good variety of food, amazing scenery and snorkelling. Rooms were small, but does that matter? Will book with trip central again but not with an Air Canada flight - both flights were oversold and we flew standby both there and back. Not a great way to start a vacation.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Well worth the value

Hi.. The food, booze, staff were all very good.. Cleanliness was as good as it gets as well.. Small beach and shortage of loungers... This is partly a members resort and sales people approach when you get there but don't persist if you say no thanks.. If you want to go the other beaches it's best to go to the beach clubs not that far away for a day... Overall great experience.. Thanks

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Good resort but some amenities are lacking.

A la carte dining was nice feature, but the quality of food was hit and miss and portions were small. No shade umbrellas on the beach unless you upgrade to Preferred Club section. Access into the ocean is very rocky; water shoes are a must. Beware of being lured into time-share pitch by AM Resort staff. Hotel is slightly dated, but service staff are amazing and friendly.

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: AMAZING RESORT!!

We thought the resort was clean, beautiful, and well-maintained. The meals were fantastic. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The view was excellent. The amenities and entertainment were great.

Occidental Cozumel: Quiet Relaxing Resort

Beautiful Grounds, excellent beach with great snorkellig! Dive shop very accomodating and well run. Rooms were adequate. Food was pretty good, found the buffets to have less choices than other resorts. Overall geat vacation.

Iberostar Waves Cozumel: lovely setting

the grounds of this hotel were really lovely. Lush plantings and very well cared for. Lots of interesting wildlife wandering around. The units were set beautifully among the palms and shrubs and each had a porch with hammock and chair. We enjoyed the buffet restaurants but weren't very impressed with the a la carte ones. Staff were terrific. The beach itself was large and wide and had lots of lounge chairs and many huts and palm trees for shade if you preferred to get out of the sun. The swimmin [... read more]g, however, was not good for me. I like to swim in the sea and it was very rocky. I had to wear water shoes and go in off the dock. The pool area was nice, again, lots of loungers. Rooms were decent although ours smelled very musty. Overall we had a good vacation but would not likely go back to that resort.

Zel Cozumel: GREAT stay with family!

Melia, in Cozumel, Mexico was a lovely place to bring the family. The grounds were always well kept, there were many things to do with kids( crafts, activities, dancing,and music in the daytime for kids) The food was o'k. I preferred the a la carte, meals were better hot and prepped well. I did not like that I discovered by day 3 that I had to make reservations for the a la carte places. Buffet selection was ok. Rooms VERY clean, and tidy. EXCEPTIONAL staff for housekeeping, thank you!

Grand Park Royal Cozumel: Excellent Resort!

Great location. Close to downtown and shopping district. The snorkelling was fantastic. Bartenders made excellent drinks. Friendly staff. Food was excellent. Shout out to the girls at the coffee shop, excellent coffee.

Secrets Aura Cozumel: Secrets aura Cozumel

The room smelt musty. Small bugs everyday all over the bathroom sink. Various areas of the resort smelt like raw sewage. No umbrellas on the beach. The beach was very rocky. The best thing about this resort was the food The Bordeaux was excellent.
