Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: Average Resort

The actual resort has so much potential! The rooms and accomodations were beautiful for Cuba. The food was also as to be expected when visiting a resort in Cuba. The beach was beautiful and extremely clean, the seaweed was constantly being picked up every day and throughout. My only real problems when visiting the resort was lack of hot water, or water at all. As well as the noise level since my room was directly above the lobby area where they would have entertainment between 8:30pm-12am, inste [... read more]ad of the outdoor theatre area. It seemed unfortunate that they were limited to a certain number of bottles of alcohol (for example white wine) throughout the day at certain times. It also seemed that half way through our stay, which ran into the beginning of high season, that the resort started to bring out more amenities and start to put in more effort as we were leaving after a two week stay. Overall I wouldn’t go back and would probably still opt for a resort right in cayo coco, not cayo paredon.

Melia Cayo Coco: Great resort!

Staff at Melia Cayo Coco was very friendly and attentive. They always tried their best to accommodate everyone. There was a good food selection in the buffet restaurant, albeit the food was the same every day. A la carte restaurant food was nicely prepared with lovely presentation. We had a lovely room which provided enough comfort but the original workmanship and subsequent repairs just didn't cut it. We have also dealt with a running toilet which we had to tend to every time we flushed but once we figured out the trick, we just dealt with it. We were delighted that we didn't have to rush in the mornings to secure our spots either on the beach or by the pool as the resort provided sufficient number of lounge chairs and palapas. We rather enjoyed the entertainment which seemed to be going throughout the day. Too bad Michael Jackson was sick, lol, we were rather looking forward to the show! However, we were not too keen on the fashion show as their crew was quite pushy for us to get our raffle tickets. It got to a point where we had to leave. Overall, we would recommend the resort and are looking forward to returning there.

Barcelo Solymar: Barcelo Good and Bad

Firstly the beach was wonderful and the staff was very friendly. The hotel itself was very clean. On the downside, like many resorts in Cuba, the food was not great. Tasteless and lacking in variety. They have five elevators. Only one was working and that was hit and miss. The desk chair in our room was broken. We reported it three times and nothing was ever done. Melia Costa Rey: Beautiful Resort

A wonderful resort. Staff cannot do enough for the guest, always happy with a smile on their face. Entertainment staff work so hard and long hours. So many repeat guests . Clean beach and easy entry into the ocean. Will be back for sure.

Melia Las Americas: Always a Favourite!

Another fantastic week at Las Americas! We upgraded our experience to the Level this time and it was amazing. Great service, stunning 2 floor room and wonderful extra restaurants to attend. The beach is always amazing and never disappoints. The new outdoor space is spectacular. It's always good to see that they are constantly improving the place. Already looking forward to next year!

Sol Palmeras: The perfect holiday!

We traveled as a group of 12 family and friends. We had the perfect time! The staff are so friendly and amazing servers. Food was fantastic! So many choices of places and good to eat. The beach is breathtaking. The pool is beautiful too. Every person in our group had the best time! Thanks again everybody! We will be back!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Worst Resort Ever- Not as Advertised - Bad Management

Do Not pay for upgrade to Premium Service. It's the same as a regular customer You received nothing special. Save your money Room showers are installed at 5 feet high so you have to bend to take a shower. No hot water. Shower holder has one screw in it so when water is turned on it sprays everywhere, Beach towels are not exchanged unless you leave them in the room and go to the beach with no towel, come back later and maybe get exchanged towels. No toilet paper other than in your room.  [... read more]Bathrooms around the resort are not cleaned or restocked so people walked around with their own TP Food runs out after the first hour, sporadic chicken or fish Dining staff walk up to buffet and eat with their hands from the buffet Animals on the beach and around the resort. At least 3 dogs that belong to staff roam the property. Remained on property after viciously attacking a guest during our stay. Management allows animals around the property. Cats (3) in the buffet dining room area daily. Birds in the dining room pooping on tabled and eating peoples food all week. Soliciting of tips by entertainment staff after every show, walking around with hats soliciting gratuities for middle school caliber shows. Also no actual entertainment show every night. Management not willing to adhere to the basic standards Staff seemed unhappy and disgruntled, lack of smiles and basic politeness. Staff more attentive to their cellphones and co-workers than guests. On a positive note the grounds were nicely kept except when it rained the walkways and other areas were flooded leaving no option but to wade through the dirty water to or from your room

Los Delfines: Small friendly resort on veradeo beach

Rooms were clean . It is an older hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is fine. Pasta bar and omelet station. Grounds are nice plenty of security . They had plenty of different drink options. Twenty four hour bar on beach

Hotel Los Cactus: Lovely resort

Frankly a nice resort with a good balance of value and amenities. It’s walking distance to town of Varadero. Beach is terrific. Food decent for Cuba with plenty of fruit, eggs etc. Loved the espressos!

Nacional de Cuba: Wonderful Hotel

It is a very enjoyable place to stay . The pool is was very refreshing and well maintained . The food was good. We enjoyed the Coffee , but it could be served warmer. And the water in the room was not hot and discoloured , perhaps, it was due to the hurricane. The chairs were broken and need to be replaced . The staff was helpful and friendly

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Amazing and great resort

Friendly staff, good dance sessions, and new and clean rooms, good food menu choices, lobster dinner was great, deluxe oceanview was fantastic, room cleaning service did a good job, need improvement on how to manage flies in the buffet area

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: quiet homey resort

The staff were amazing. The food was good. Room service great. BUT, there was no hot water for the week that we were there, but we managed and did not find this upsetting. The resort is quiet, and mostly for older people or those wishing to be left alone or be in quiet. The beach is the BEST!!!, anyone who wishes to swim or is afraid of water, should come to Memories Caribe. I love a piano bar, but the piano at Memories Caribe is in disrepair as some of the keys do not work, and the piano  [... read more]needs tuning; thus it is false to advertise a piano bar when no one has played the piano for many months. Caribe has good tennis and basketball courts, it does not have racquets for tennis or pickleball. Bingo would be a good game to offer the vacationers. Memories Flamenco has more life and vibrance, but the entry into the water because the first 5 feet into the sea at Memories Flamenco has lots of broken shells, otherwise the beach and water is perfect (people with lower body disability may just need a few extra seconds to cautiously step over this area. I wish the people of Cuba a quick recovery in the recovery following Hurricane Melissa. The staff at the resorts will appreciate everything that you donate to them, including your dollars.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Great Place, Fun Times

The ROC Arenas Doradas is an older resort that is well maintained. They keep everything spotless.The beds are comfortable.we has many food choices. (ROC Plus) The people who work here are the Best you could ever meet. We made many new friends and will definitely be returning.

The One Gallery Hotel: One Gallery Cayo Santa Maria

I have been to this hotel 5 times ! I love it , a great variety of foods and drinks it has a spectacular beach and what can I say about the staff … they are exceptional . Always smiling and ready to help and guide you . Sadly there is an epidemic of mosquitoes and no see em one must wear insect repellent because I was bad ! Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Great resort

Cayo Playa Santa Maria is a great resort. Very clean, food was a little repetitive but all in all it was good! I loved the snack bar sandwiches and French fries. Will definitely go back! The staff was very friendly and accommodating!

Valentin Perla Blanca: not great

We have been to Cuba many times so we know about the food, shortages, hotels so we know what we are getting into. The hotel only has about 10 % open, 1 buffet and 1 a la carte. If the a la carte is open the buffet is not. Food was edible but.... we were violently sick for 36 hours after the a la carte. We assume it was the soup but have no idea. The resort should not be open to the tourist. It's a very low category resort, doesn't even deserve 2 stars. The food was very poorly elaborated, it was the worst food I ever tasted in Cuba. The water at the snack bar was contaminated, and the maids did not deliver the water as they were supposed. I would never return to that place. The staff was very nice but they know their limitations.
