Valentin Perla Blanca

Great beach, regular Cuban food as expected. The pool, however, was very dirty. Restaurants not available often enough. Not enough shade provided at the beach. Need to get up very early to reserve chair and shaded areas.

Great resort, with more than expected

The buildings are beautiful and our room was lovely.The resort had more than expected, Great selection of drinks great entertainment in the lobby every night and even a guy serving ice cream on the beach on a hot day, what more could you want.The a la cartes were wonderful and gave specialized service. With reading the reviews prior to going I was going with a very brood minded view. I stayed at valentin perla blanca for the week of april 13 til the 20.it is a beautiful resort.need good walking shoes as it is quite a large resort.rooms were beautiful and clean.had no problems getting towels or beach towel.everyone there is working hard and very friendly.if i needed some thing all i had to do is ask,it would be done.very beautiful beach.as with many places in cuba food is not great but we always found something to eat.i would return because of the wonderful staff clean room a [... read more]nd the beautiful beach.

Amazing Resort Amazing Vacation

I stayed at The Valentin Perla Blanca the week of April 3rd, 2015, which was my 5th resort experience at Cayo Santa Maria. It is an absolutely gorgeous hotel with amazing and friendly staff. It is a new resort so the grounds are not all matured throughout but they are well maintained. The rooms are beautiful and clean which is an important factor for me. There are  [... read more]no issues with the beach towels as they are left in the room for you as you check-in. Good variety of foods and restaurants a la carte to chose from. They also have Wi-Fi in the lobby, which was new and great feature. They have entertainment nightly as well. I didn't go on any excursions because I travelled alone this time, but did in the past and were all great experiences. Valentin Perla Blanca is also an all adult resort, which was great for relaxation purposes. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Needs work

Rooms were nice..however the cleaning staff missed alot. Our balcony was never cleaned, side tables and dresser were never wiped. Empty cups and cigarette butts were all over the ground. Glasses and plates were left out all night around pool area.washrooms were clean when you walked in but once you were in the stall the doors were full of black hand prints and dirt in corners. Staff seemed to be looking for tips all the time.

Amazing Resort!!!

Everything from the grounds to the pool to the beach to the rooms to the service to the check in to the entertainment was AMAZING! This hotel is a true 5 star. It may need some work with speed but hey they have only been open a couple months. Staff is so friendly and sweet. They truly care about you. Absolutely Beautiful!

The staff was so nice. The room was very clean. My only complaint would be the wind. Nobody's fault just couldn't swim in the ocean like I was looking forward too. The waves were so strong. the white sand and the beach were beautiful.

Good resort

I really enjoyed my time at this resort. I did not have any expectations so that way there is no dissappointment. Beach, sun and beer is always good in Cuba!!! Of course people from a certain province in Canada kept whining the whole time I was there. Nothing that the staff did could please them. Pool on the Westjet side was pretty disgusting, so to the other pool we went! No big deal. To sum it up I would go back in a heartbeat!

WORST RUN RESORT EVER

Hi, My husband and I booked a trip to Cuba - Valintin Perla Blanca, March 22nd to March 29th. This was the worst trip my husband and I have ever had down south. We went away was for a stress free break from the snow. This trip far from stress free. This was the worst run resort with nothing but one frustration after another. Here are some of the complaints below: -Our room had 2 small beds and after 6 or 7 attempts to speak to someone in charge, they told us they wouldn't change us even thoug [... read more]h they had a king available. -One shower towel each for 7 days. -One beach towel each for 7 days. -Our bed sheets not even changed once in 7 days. -Room was never cleaned, only the beds being made. -Room fridge never stacked. -An hour and a half wait to book a la cartes. -An hour wait for food service. -Resort ran out of beer 2 different days. -Continually running out of food at snack bars and a la cartes. -Having to set an alarm to get up at 5:30 am to reserve a beach chair due to limited chairs, not to mention the limited shaded areas. -Waiting almost an hour for a drink at the mail lobby bar, with staff basically ignoring you. -Understood that Cuban food is not very good, but this food was terrible. Fruit was never fresh, with canned fruit as a substitute etc. I would not recommend this place to anyone. To be honest I would like to have my 7 days back; this was no vacation. Nice, clean, people worked hard.

Pretty beach. Nice rooms. Clean. Not enough staff so the poor people who worked there worked very very hard. The food was terrible and services were very unorganized.. We purchased the priveleged package and had to fight to get what we were entitled to. The location is also a 2 hours bus ride from the airport. A bad experience!

Poor service, no hot water at the pic hours, poor food quality, insufficient beach chairs and towels! Privillage option has made the two class treatment experience even worse! This was my worst experience in Cuba! The beach quality was the only positive thing about this hotel!

Fantastic place!

Just came back on March 27th from one week at this resort and had a wonderful experience! The beach is stunning! The rooms are clean, staff is friendly, food is fine. Once the bartenders learn some specialty drinks it will be excellent!

Beautiful resort!!

This hotel is beautiful!! The beach was the best that I ever seen and I've been to many resort!!! The food was good for Cuba!! I would definitely suggest you go as a privilege guess. Better view, nicer seating at the beach, cushion for your chair.

Loved it

We stayed here March 6th- 13th with a group of 13... we all loved it! Exchanged our money at the airport and the bus ride was fun.. our tour guide was so funny. Check in was quick, we requested to change our room and they were happy to help once a room opened up! Food was ok could always find something! The beach was amazing.. nicest sand ever! The first few days the pool was a bit murky but they cleaned it and it cleared right up. Favourite thing was the cuban coffees from the coffee bar just off of the lounge! We went to 2 al cartes.. Great resort

I was very pleased with my trip to Valentin Pearla Blanca. The food was good, beach was amazing and the resort was beautiful. My only complaint was they needed more staff for the lobby bar area, other than that it was fantastic.

Just not ready

I truly believe that the resort is not quite ready. For a five star you need to have things in order, otherwise the stay is not what one would expect and would be very very disapointed. The resort needs to organise themselves, in abetter way.

Hit and Miss

This resort met our basic needs of sunshine and relaxation. Sure, one pool turned green and they ran out of basic items such as beer and cheese, but it's Cuba, not Aruba. If you're flexible, you will enjoy this clean and ultra-modern resort.

Fantastic Time, Amazing Resort

My husband and I had a great time, the resort was fantastic, the beach to die for and the room with a view of the ocean amazing. Loved every minute of it. There were some small things but nothing that the ever so friendly staff were not willing to accomodate.

Good time, fun resort!

We aren't going to complain like some of those on trip adviser but Valentin Perla Blanc has it's quirks. If you get it for under $1000 your getting what you pay for and should be thankful, pay more and you may be disappointed. It's an Adults only, party resort, 4 star all the way! Mixed emotions

8 Mar 2015: a few weeks after Phase II opened and a few months after Phase I opened. Good buildings, great beach, too windy that week. Growing pains, e.g. towel and linen shortage. Food hit and miss. Not enough lounge chairs on beach or pool.
