Royalton Punta Cana Resort: Amazing resort

Everything about the resort was amazing. Food, entertainment beach services. Modesto from entertainment team was amazing. All the members of entertainment team went all out to make sure we were enjoying our stay. My only negative was room service. First night we arrived late and ordered something to eat and were told about 30 min wait and we waited 2 hours and when we got the food the order was not the right one. Other that that we were totally satisfied and would recommend this resort .

Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun: Clean and Modern Resort with something for Everyone!

Overall, The Royalton Splash Riviera Cancun was wonderful. This resort is much bigger than what we typically book, however we had two teenagers with us, and we wanted to make sure there was plenty for them to do, and there sure was!! There are so many different things to do here that I don't think anyone gets a chance to do it all. While we were there, we used the lazy river and water slides, the scuba center, all the pools, the gym (which was amazing), the poolside games and activities (ping po [... read more]ng, Jenga, volleyball, water polo). We also went bowling twice and did the trampoline park. we did swim in the ocean, and although there was some seaweed on shore the ocean floor was sandy and soft and the water warm! We walked a long way down the beach, and I will say that this resort was doing by far the best on maintaining the seaweed cleanup. There was always something fun to do! For Dinner and Lunch we ate at the following restaurants (listed best to worst): Rio, Zen, Hunter Steakhouse, Smoke, Nibbles, Grazie, The Cave. The Cave was the only one that we really didn't enjoy- but I would say all of the food is great by all-inclusive standards, but nothing spectacular compared to our own cooking or restaurants at home. What we did love was the variety- which was much better than any other resort we have ever been to. The Buffet has an amazing selection of fresh foods, and the kids liked it the best! The cafe had wonderful coffee and pastries in the morning (but unfortunately, a pretty long line up). The coffee here was much better than at the buffet. we are early risers, so we joined the club of saving 2 or 3 loungers (for 4 of us) before 6AM each day. We did notice that you could always find a lounger or two, just maybe not in your preferred location. getting up early just ensured we picked our favorite spot. Another thing we did like about this resort is the layout. The resort is huge- but the layout makes almost everything convenient no matter your location. I don;t have much to complain about but the 2 things that put a bad taste in our mouth were 1) The wrist bands DO NOT stay on, our teenagers both lost one and had to pay $130 CAD to replace them. This is crazy, if you are going to use this system then get wrist bands that stay on while kids are doing the activities that your resort provides! we did end up melting the band strings which helped, but we had to continue to resecure them throughout the week. 2) The room layout with the see through glass shower and open concept bathroom was not ideal for us, our teenaged son and his friend. There was no privacy- I had to get dressed in the toilet room, and luckily after reading reviews I had brought a plastic shower curtain from home which we used to provide privacy for the shower. All in all, this is a great family resort that felt safe and secure and had fantastic service- I would highly recommend for families with older pre-teens or teenagers!

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Stunning Beach

Had a wonderful week at this Resort. Great staff doing anything they can to accommodate you. Drinks and food were the best I experienced in Cuba. The beach was crystal clear and beautiful sand. I would return.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Ok resort

I booked at white sands for $2200 per person and was sent to blue waters the day we arrived. Blue waters was great for what we paid but if I spent $3200 per person, it wouldn’t have been worth it. The service staff is great when they come to you, if you go to them ( the pool bar) the service was awful. You were legit bothering them, it was weird. An exception to this was the martini bar, I had great nights hanging out with Denroy and Radcliffe. Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Beautiful beach!

The Beach was beautiful! The Staff were very friendly and helpful. Due to the ongoing supply chain issues in Cuba, dining was not expected to be gourmet, even for a 5 star rating but the presentation was very nice. I did not care much for chemical spraying of bugs without warning every night around supper time. I’m sure it was necessary but being outside inhaling the fumes was not pleasant. The resort is nice but is definitely showing its age. It could do with some repairs and upgra [... read more]des. In its current condition, I would personally give it a 4 star rating.

Royalton Saint Lucia Resort and Spa: Great Resort

My husband and I absolutely loved the resort; the staff, the amenities, the restaurant, our room all were great!!! We were in the Diamond club and love the benefits however didn't really use the services of the butler and they were not that available. The entertainment and shows do need to be upgraded in order to grab the guest attention. This resort does cater to an older crowd but there still should be entertainment for the guests.

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Very nice place

Visited this resort in mid April and it worked very well for us. It is on the smaller side with about 330 rooms, adults only and sits on a beautiful beach with not a lot of other properties around. No buildings are over 3 floors and as a result, no elevators needed, This resort is easily walkable without the need for golf carts or other modes of transportation to get around. Before discussing the individual elements of the resort, I think that I should acknowledge that the single most importan [... read more]t advantage to staying at this property is the staff. From our experience and meeting the staff members that we did (not all, but many), every single encounter was exceptional. That included a passing greeting, seeking direction or asking some other question. The staff work long hours if necessary, work many consecutive days without time off and they never stop smiling, being friendly and totally professional. Well done. The resort grounds are impeccably maintained and even though it claimed to be at capacity, it never seemed overly busy or overcrowded with people. No need to stake you chair claim at 6 a.m. from our experience. We would place towels on our desired space when going for the breakfast buffet around 9. There always seemed to be spare lounges at the pools and the beech. We were is a standard luxury room which was well appointed and a nice size. Included a balcony with chairs and a table. Our room was fine, but it had been well used and was in need of some upgrades and repairs. Everything worked fine, but the room needed work. The food was very nice as far as we were concerned which included the buffet and the a la carte restaurants. A la cartes run from 6-10 each night and we would show up 6-6:30 with no reservations and be seated immediately. Not everything appealed to us but there is enough choice to make anyone happy in my opinion. A hidden gem is the Insomnia coffee shop where the barista makes virtually any custom coffee, as well as Italian pastries and tiny sandwiches available along with soft ice cream. Hard not to go there every day. The entertainment team works hard every day to keep people involved as they see fit and there is entertainment each night. It's not great but it is a very small resort and the team works hard and also brings in local entertainers, some of which were excellent. There is a Diamond Club which offers superior accommodations and extra privileges. I felt that the same staff that looked after us looked after them and provided the same services. In some respects, I thought the Diamond Club pool etc. was a little isolated and away from the activities. If that is what you wish for, great, but I couldn't justify the cost. An aggravating drawback to the resort comes in the form of tour agents on the property constantly trying to sell excursions and selected vendors allowed on the property every other day to sell their wares. The off site vendors must remain in their dedicated area and have a proper display set up but boy do they come on hard and fast, and unless you tell them straight up, they are relentless. They have to earn a living too, but they are hard sell people and negotiation is very much alive. There are some employees of the resort that also try to upsell service but their approach is more gentle and is provided as a source of information if you want it. Case in point was a sommelier named Florentino who tries to sell premium wines to the guests to improve their experience. He asked me every day and I never purchased, but he was great with us. I know it's all part of the game but he went out of his way every day to make us feel special in some way. Every day he would tell me "I love my job". How many people in the real world can say that? At the end of our week, this location and resort was everything that we had wanted it to be for a reasonable price.

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Good Week in Saint Lucia

Group of four stayed at the Hideaway Royalton at the end of April. Overall, the resort is very nice and I have no complaints. Is there room for improvement? Yes….but generally speaking, this was a good holiday. We chose this resort fairly last minute, so not many options were available. Mostly we wanted to avoid the Sargassum problems in the DR and Mexico so we needed an island that was not being as affected by it. The check in experience at the Hideaway Lobby gives a terrible first impre [... read more]ssion. Because the resort is two hours from the airport, you will arrive tired and hungry. The employees in the underwhelming Hideaway lobby make a bad situation even worse. They were abrupt, snarky and not at their best, which makes their guests not at their best either. There were snacks that looked like they had been sitting out all day and the welcome drink was a watered down luke-warm cocktail. They need to improve this area of the resort. Surely there is an area in the main lobby (which is a much more attractive area) to give hideaway guests a better welcome experience. I have stayed in the “club/exclusive” areas of other resorts and the check in experience is always special. I will say that the key card on your resort bracelet is a handy thing….much better than a card. After finding our room all on our own (correct—- no one offered to show us to our room) we were relieved to see a nice clean room with a beautiful ocean view. Things were looking up. Our room was kept immaculate for the rest of our trip. Housekeeping knows what they are doing. The restaurants and bars are all very good. We ate at all the restaurants, the buffet, the food truck and the sports bar. Food was good everywhere. I preferred Dorado for breakfast over the buffet. Service at all the restaurants was also very good. My travelling companions got a lot of bug bites sitting on the patios for dinner, but the bugs didn’t bother me. Just lucky I guess as they were really bitten up and bug spray didn’t seem to help. You do not need reservations at restaurants except for the Teppanaki. For all other restaurants, you check in and they give you a buzzer which will go off when your table is ready. If you don’t want to wait for a table, be sure to go at 6:30 or earlier. None of us became I’ll or had tummy trouble as others have been complaining about this month. We also did not speak to any other guests who were ill. Obviously getting sick can happen to anyone, anywhere. Cleanliness and hygiene at this resort is top notch and their food practices were also good from all we saw. The beach was a bit of a disappointment for me, but I am a beach girl so my expectations are pretty high. This beach is very small, does not have a nice sand bottom after the first ten feet, and the loungers are just jam packed together side by side. I only spent one day there, but I did go down to swim/float in the sea everyday. I just didn’t sit there. The pools were fantastic. They all have beautiful views and lots of chairs. I participated in aqua aerobics and hung out at the Hideaway Pool most days. The drinks at all the bars were well made and there are pool servers who will bring you drinks if you don’t want to get up. I am not a big frozen cocktail person so I mostly stuck to vodka, cranberry, soda or Rum and Diet Coke. I was very happy that the pools were so nice since the beach was not the greatest. I was unable to stay awake for all the shows, but I can say they are all pretty typical of resort shows. The theatre is very short on chairs though—- more seating is required. I headed off to bed early most nights. There is no turn down service which is something an adults only experience needs to compete with other adults only resorts like Secrets and Excellence. There is also no liquor or snacks in your room, which again is something other “club” level areas have at other resorts. Not a big deal this time, but the Royalton should really add these services to the Adults Only side if they want to compete. There were very few kids at the resort because of the time of year, but I would never pay extra for the Hideaway Adults Only section if it was Christmas or March Break… it wouldn’t be worth it as kids can go everywhere on the resort except for the Hideaway pool and Dorado. We did take a private tour from one of the beach tour guys that was great. I had been to the island previously and didn’t want the mud baths offered on all the other tours, so the private tour was better for us as we were able to choose our own activities. I spoke to many who loved all the excursions so you can not go wrong with any of them. Coffee shop is great for your morning coffee or a mid day snack. Check out was as bad as check in, sadly. They make you go to the Hideaway “lobby” to check out but then you have to head all the way up to the main lobby to grab your transfer! So ridiculous. If you are going to charge extra for the Hideaway Adult only experience, don’t ruin it by herding you together with families and kids on a two hour van ride. Airport check in was a breeze. So, overall the resort is nice. We had a good time and service was as expected except for the areas I mentioned earlier. Would I return to this resort? I would not, but only because I am still searching for that perfect beach and there are so many other islands to see.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great resort

Our room was not very nice but they are renovating rooms so ask for a new renovated room if you book. The beach was very beautiful and the sand was soft. Food overall was good, and some of the restaurant were excellent. The staff are friendly and helpful and always have a smile Ask for Diamond club if you want to have reservation at restaurant or book a suite with a butler

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: Nice & Clean

This resort is super clean, has (mostly) friendly staff, excellent food, and is a nice small resort. You can walk to everything within 5 minutes, but there's still plenty of pool space and a nice beach area. Overall, our experience was really good. We even went to the spa and enjoyed a massage and made use of the hydrotherapy pools - highly recommend. The only complaint that we have is with regards to the diamond club. We were given incorrect information about what our upgrade was going to incl [... read more]ude, paid for it, got no further information and then when we went searching for information we were told that half of the things we were told were included, actually were not. It was a waste of our money to be honest. The main beach area is really nice, so there's no need to have access to the diamond club beach. We never had any issues getting into eat at any of the restaurants, so reservations were not required. Overall, great resort but don't both wasting your money on the diamond club.

Royalton Cayo Santa Maria: Best Vacation Ever!

This is a beautiful small resort on one of the most beautiful stretches of beach in Cuba! Miles of soft white sand and the warm turquoise ocean, with plenty of beach chairs and palapas for shade (although it helps to get there early to secure your spot). The service is out of this world! Every guest has their own "butler" who is there to look after your every need or whim. All of the staff are delightful - very friendly and professional. The spa, which they share with the resort next door, is beautiful and our massage was truly restorative. We have always loved Cuba and have been several times. This resort will be our destination of choice from now on!

Royalton Hideaway Saint Lucia: Needs some work

Room and staff were great. Food sucked. Restaurants were very disappointing. Resort was not near capacity which was even more disappointing. Pool bar on Adult side had nothing but sad ‘80’s music. Buffet was extremely disappointing.

Royalton Hideaway Riviera Cancun: Amazing staff and resort

Soon as we arrived we were greeted by the most helpful staff. Check-in was a breeze. All the staff working here were outright amazing! Theresa and Lady at the Hideaway pool always went above and beyond. Entertainment and food was outstanding!

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Another great stay

This is our second stay at this hotel. We pre booked the same room as we had last year we liked it so much. Everything was even better this year. Service was amazing, the staff really go out of their way to please in every aspect ( butlers, bartenders, restaurant service and ground crews). Food was great so many options at every restaurant. Drinks were great and plenty full. The biggest plus was the improvements at the beach, last it it was really unusable because of the seaweed. However they ha [... read more]ve now put in barriers to block it from coming in - it was amazing how well they worked. No seaweed in sights.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: Fantastic time

It was a very large resort and very well maintained. Staff was excellent and the food was in abundance. It was great that you didn't have to book to go eat in restaurants. The restaurant staff was very accommodating. The whole holidays was very relaxing and would recommend this resort to anyone. Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Pretty good stay at Royalton

TL; DR: big resort with lots of people and good buffet/okay sit-down restaurants, but with small, crowded beach and boring kids’ club. When we checked in, I was waiting for someone to try to upsell us to Diamond Club, but when I inquired, I was told it was sold out. No matter - I don’t really know what I would have done with it. Yes, Diamond Club has a private beach and pool. There is a butler that gets you dinner reservations and sets stuff up for you. Is this worth $155 usd per day  [... read more]for a family of 4? I guess it depends on how busy the resort is when you go and how much extra cash you have. We’re early birds with two kids, so have been hitting meal time on the early end. The buffet has been pretty great overall (Dominican night was especially great!) but depends on your expectations. Is this going to be the finest meals I’ve ever had? No. But it’s pretty good, and there are lots of choices for everyone. My husband stood in line at 545 to get into the Italian restaurant. We got in no problem on the patio as soon as they opened. Was it amazing? No. But it was fine. The teppanyaki was fine, too. The Brazilian restaurant was not at all crowded at lunch, and was really good. The beach - I love the beach generally. And I understand that a lot of the east coast Mexico is full of seaweed and the beaches are not great these past few years, so that’s why I ended up in the Dominican on Bavaro beach, known to be an amazing beach. Is it amazing? Well, again, depends on your beach experience and expectations. Royalton Bavaro has a beachfront of about 150 metres, with over 700 rooms. Some of that beachfront is dedicated to Diamond Club members exclusively. All this to say - The water is clear and beautiful, but it’s pretty crowded in there. If you get a beach chair, you will be up close and personal to the folks next to you. The rooms - we got a 1 bedroom presidential suite, and I would not have done it any other way. There aren’t that many of these types of rooms available, so I would absolutely recommend getting these if you, like me, don’t want to share a bedroom with your kids. It’s twice the size of the regular “family suites” that they offer here (which is really just a regular room with a lattice sliding door between the bed and the sofa - not exactly private) and was just a few hundred dollars more. It has a room with a bar, eating area, sitting area (with pull out) and bathroom, and then another bedroom bar area with a giant bathroom/dressing room. A few times, there was either no hot or cold water. Communication about the issue wasn’t totally great. We had no problem getting mini bar top ups, room service or other things brought to the room. Tipping gets you great service. We were averaging about $30 in tips per day. I had excellent service from Stephanie Esteban at the pool. She was so sweet to my daughter. She made us feel really welcomed. The waiters working the courtyard at the main buffet were also excellent.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Animation Team!

This hotel was not full due to renovations in some areas. There are plenty of restaurants, however those guests who were not in the Diamond Club could not make reservations and therefore it was “first come, first served” to get into anything but the buffet. The buffet had good selections, you would not go hungry, however I felt the prepared trays were always only “luke warm”. There was a good selection of salad, sandwich ingredients and breakfast items available. The grounds were  [... read more]lovely and clean, the gardeners were very good. The beach was amazing. I still do not like the fact that people play the “towel game” to reserve palapa on the beach. This is not fair and should not be allowed. We were guests for two weeks and the beach BBQ became tedious as the menu was exactly the same every day. The animation team were wonderful - a really good group of people. We would especially like to acknowledge Veronica (morning yoga practice) along with all other games. Victor, Jimmy and Duran would did pool games, aqua fitness, Cuba day, Foam party, and nightly entertainment. The public area washrooms were clean, however, additional toilet paper was required many times and this should have been addressed. We enjoyed ourselves and would recommend this hotel. Wifi some days was “hit and/or miss” very slow.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: LOVED IT! Highly Recommended.

This resort is close to paradise. Grounds are beautiful and take your breathe away every time you walk through the walkways. Flowers and greenery are all around you - above, below, along all the sidewalks - and kept meticulously. And at night, there is a rainbow of lights on the garden & water ways and it makes a beautifully warm & welcoming atmosphere. Our room was very comfortable. We had a ground floor unit with a de-humidifier which kept out any dampness often found in tropical ac [... read more]commodations. Very spacious suite - with King bed, large closet and separate living room/seating area - but hey - who stays in their room with so much to do on the resort? We always had hot water for showers and air conditioning worked as desired.Our deck had a beautiful garden view over looking a small private pool - however we spent most of time at the beach.One complaint - floors were not barefoot clean and we had to ask for a special cleaning. The beach area was perfect - soft, fine sand, a long walk-able (always clean) beach front with an water access that you could walk out forever - with sand bars and shallow waters for a great distance. And staff were always there to help with chairs, umbrellas, beverages. Staff at this resort are amazing - always willing to help/serve as best they can with what they have to work with. Very friendly and very accommodating.Only challenge is service at the main bar in the evenings - can be very slow getting a beverage. Food was good - and we had no problem walking away satisfied after every meal. Breads, rolls and cakes/breakfast sweets are homemade everyday. Their ice cream was a special treat and enjoyed almost every day. Yes, beef & potato dishes are very limited and there was no bacon, but food was prepared and presented with lots of choice. Plenty of fish, chicken, pork, rice dishes, eggs & ham; & salad fixings. The specialty restaurants had very tasty meals & we enjoyed everyone. Things like peanut butter, jams, relish and mayonnaise are not an available option, so if you want these items - best bring them from home. We also brought vinegar - there are french fries, hot dogs & hamburgers at the 24 hour booth. They do have ketchup and mustard. Warning - even with a converter - the 220 the hydro will blow out your hair dryer. There was a small hairdryer in our room. Entertainment - the 1st night was OK - and needed some additional practice (Cuban history) however all other presentations were very well done and the OPERA night & ROCK night were both exceptionally well done. Overall this Resort was GREAT and we would definitely recommend to any needing a reference - even though we have no other CUBAN resorts to compare to. After three years of no/limited travel it was so great to go where the surf, sun and accommodations were just what we needed. And as an added bonus, we made some really great friends while on vacation; and look forward to staying in touch once home.

Royalton Hideaway Blue Waters: Very nice resort, a little dated.

The grounds are beautiful, pools are amazing. You are directly on beach, which is great! The staff are extremely pleasant and accomodating. The buffet was mediocre at best, with a lot of repeat items. Hunters Steakhouse was our favourite a' la carte. It is not a luxury experience but extremely enjoyable.

Mystique Habana by Royalton: Fabulous

I would give this place 10 stars if I could. Beautiful premises, prime location, great quality food - this place has it all. However, what makes it truly unique is the quality of service and the personalized touch. The staff is professional and friendly and the hotel managers, Eric and Pavel, truly go out of their way to get to know their guests’s needs and will do everything they can to make your stay just perfect.
