Paradisus Punta Cana: Wonderful Resort!

We really enjoyed the Paradisus Punta Cana. Last year, we stayed at the Paradisus Palma Real, farther down the beach. The Buffet at the Palma Real was better, but otherwise, we preferred the Paradisus Punta Cana. A large resort, with beautifully landscaped grounds and a long, wide, white sand beach. Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Amazing stay

This resort is clean and the rooms as well(loved our room). We had amazing views. The food was “ok”. Service was excellent(Christine was the best, she took care of all of her guests with love and care). She went out of her way to make my birthday a special day. Also,the concierge sent a brithday cake and wine to our room. This made me feel so happy, special and at home. I loved it all and i will definitely go back.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Great hotel room

Most of the employees were really kind and cared about your needs. The hotel room was really cool how there was a window to the bathroom so we could watch TV in the bath. The one issue with the room was that when we first came the bathtub seemed a bit dirty and also the shower was kind of weird that it had jets in the wall so it was scary to turn it on. I really enjoyed the drinks by the pool as they were all delicious.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Melia Caribe Tropical, a nice resort near Punta Cana

This resort is a solid 4 star. It is definitely a nice resort, but there are some minor issues, or rather, nuances, that will prevent them from getting 5 stars. First the positive: This resort is huge, and yet it was not crowded at all, despite the fact that half of our stay was during the supposedly busy March break period. People just kind of dispersed throughout the huge facility. The beach is about a km (just over half a mile) walk from the main lobby building, so depending on where you [... read more]r apartment or room is located, it may be a good walk. The good news is that the hotel runs regular train service all around the facility, and during the busy evening periods, this is topped up with multiple golf carts transporting people around. There have been plenty of space on the beach or around the pool at any given time. No need to hunt for beach chairs, or waking up early to reserve seat and finish the rest of your morning sleep on the beach (that is what I did last year at a different resort in a different country). The beach is probably 400-500 m wide (1/4 mile), and you may want to check it out at the Level apartments, as it seemed to be always clean of seaweed. The food is decent, especially in the buffet, we were never disappointed in that. The other restaurants are nothing special, only good for a break from the buffet. We were not impressed with these a la carte restaurants at all, the desserts were especially bad. During every breakfast or lunch, they try to get you to reserve a spot in the Japanese hibachi or in the Steakhouse restaurant for USD 50 per person, but not with great success, mostly these places were empty at night. The rooms are clean and upgraded, the room service and the minibar refill is timely and regular. Staff is friendly, and you don’t feel the urge or necessity to tip. You can certainly tip your golf cart driver, or your waiter/waitress, or the gardener who, just out of the blue, cuts up a coconut for you, but you don’t have the feeling that they expect it from you. The grounds are very well maintained, there are lots of peacocks around, so you can take some nice pictures. Note that they will appear beside your breakfast table too ;-)) Now the less positive: If you decide to sign up for any tour, like dune buggys, monkey land, sailing, anything that is outside the resort, be ready that your trip on the bus will be an average of 60-80 minutes longer. That is because they pick up Melia guests first, and drop them off last. It is not really the hotels fault, but it could be an inconvenience, especially because that extra hour you spend on these not so comfortable truck-converted-to-bus type vehicles. Again, desserts in the à la carte restaurants are definitely seeking some major improvements. The beach was ha it and miss to be clean from seaweed, and that goes for the water too. The good thing is that this whole beach is so wide, that you will eventually find a spot where everything is clean. Be ready for all kinds of sales pitches when you walk on the beach. People will try to sell you anything from pictures with a monkey thru parasailing all the way to weed. Overall, we were satisfied with this resort, and would recommend it for both families with kids of any ages, as well as for couples. We even probably will return in the future. And definitely will mark Melia resorts as preference on my future searches.

Melia Braco Village: Melia Braco

The Melia Braco was a nice resort. The resort itself was clean but bathrooms could have been kept up better. Numerous times throughout the day toilet paper was non existent and they smelt bad. The food was very good. Only complaint there was that the buffet was not open every night. We found we were eating late every night because we couldn’t get into restaurants. The Rasta Pasta was by far my favourite. Rooms were clean and beds were very comfortable. We had no hot water for a couple days [... read more] and when it did come on we had to let the water run for almost 45 min to get it luke warm. The staff was very friendly and accommodating.

The Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana: Awesome, luxurious place!

Stayed at the Reserve at Paradisus Punta Cana in the second week of March 2018. Pros: - A good location, only 25 minutes from the airport - Awesome, very well maintained sandy beach and the entire property - Excellent, very tasty food and quality French wines - Great king-size bed room with a jacuzzi - Friendly staff, superior service. Melia Braco Village: Just ok

Great food & service. Rooms were nice but there were 3 days with issues with housekeeping. The grounds are nice but there is some trash laying around that could be addressed. For the most part every one works really hard but I'm afraid it's not enough.

Zel Cozumel: Wonderful Resort Feb 23-Mar 9/18

This was an incredible vacation for us. The resort was on the most beautiful white sand beach on the island. Our room was in the tower #905. It was very large and the bed was just as comfortable as home. The spacious balcony was perfect. We had a view that we will never forget. The staff would go out of their way to please. Wonderful people. The swim up bar was awesome, with lots of beach chairs and clean, warm water. The second pool was also lovely. (Kids section). The food was alway [... read more]s fresh and tasty. Watch for the specialty restaurants where we were charged $65 US for a "Cowboy Steak". At least it was good! The WiFi was only OK in the Lobby area; would be extra in the room, which we did not go for. We loved our vacation and will be going back.

Paradisus Playa del Carmen: Very nice resort!

Great hotel and amenities, service and restaurants are top quality! The beach leaves a little to be desired particularly in view of the seaweed problems experienced this year. The entire area looks like a construction site most of the time! That is the one thing which would drive us away from this entire area!

Paradisus Punta Cana: Wonderful family vacation

Beautiful hotel and grounds, great service, and excellent food. We really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend the resort to friends and family. With a kids club and adults-only sections, there is something for everyone to enjoy.

Paradisus Los Cabos: Nice resort

We have been to many of the Paradisus resorts and had very high expectations of this one before we arrived and left a little disappointed . We felt the food was good but but lacked variety , bars closed earlier than we preferred , as with all resorts we go to the pool chairs are all scooped up before sunrise and sit vacant most of the day . They have done a nice job with the upgrades and renovations , they made a nice beach bar but its lacks a bathroom facility close by .

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Great Punta Cana Beach Location

This large resort complex does have a very good transportation system. Never was left stranded. We enjoy walking so the 25 minute walk from front lobby to beach is a non-issue. WE are on vacation. The recent fire at the front two restaurants and buffet was well transfomed and almost forgotten about. Grounds keeping was first rate with employees offering us fresh coconuts right from the trees. Bar, Restaurant staff alway ready to please.

Zel Cozumel: Great Place

This hotel was very nice , exceptionally clean and great service ! Food was fresh ! The hotel Staff was friendly and helpful ! The DJ every night was a lot of fun ! Would recommend for families too ! Lots of kids activities at the kids pool ! Definitely will go back , willy at the lobby bar was great !

Paradisus Cancun: Amazing resort!!

This resort is 20 minutes from the airport....you arrive in no time... Check in was slow but there was an employee there serving you drinks while you waited for your room key. Check in took about an hour...that is my only complaint. The grounds, beach, ocean, food, drinks, service were all above par. We got in to every restaurant we wanted with no issues. Food was excellent. Service was excellent . We never waited long before a waiter came to ask us if we were ready for a drink at the poo [... read more]l. Everyone was very friendly......Especially Michael Lara, a pool employee. He made us feel comfortable and welcoming at the pool. They have a coffee station that you were welcome to use when it was open for free coffee and very fresh donuts. I loved the cappacinos! Also had an icecream bar open during the day with candy and syrup toppings to use. The room was large with very comfortable beds and a large shower in the bathroom. I would definitely book this hotel again. I miss it already!

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Wonderful resort experience

Grounds are well kept and beautifully landscaped. Rooms are spacious and clean. Pool is large and beach area is enormous with plenty of chairs for everyone. Breakfast and lunch buffet offered many delicious options. A La Carte restaurants were very good. Staff very friendly. Overall a very enjoyable and relaxing vacation.

Paradisus Palma Real Golf and Spa Resort: Paradise Amongst the Palms

The resort is truly splendid. As big as it is it never felt that it was so. We were given an upgrade to Royal Service which provided us with access to the adults only beach and the use of the luxurious beach beds and unlimited towels as well as a private pool for adults only. We also got to use the private restaurant Palazzo for our meals. The chefs at that restaurant are outstanding. The Vichyssoise was amazing as was the chocolate fondant for dessert. Courses in between soup and dessert  [... read more]were ethereal. The 'amuse bouche' that was offered at the start of the meal was truly delectable. The service was congenial, efficient and friendly. The other outstanding dining experience was at the Fuego which requires reservations as well. Once again the chefs produced amazing culinary delights. Both restaurants are the best we have experienced in the many years of all inclusive vacations we have experienced. The buffet provided a myriad of culinary delights. It was a treat to have delicious, fresh and delicately prepared Indian food which was one of my favorites. The paellas and the fish grill which included Caribbean lobster daily which delighted my husband was also a terrific experience. The Royal Service was especially appreciated as there were many families with lots of small children at the resort in the week we were there. This is not to say that we don't love kids as we very much do. It was just nice to have the quieter and relaxing stay which is what we want out of a beach holiday. The gardens are beautifully groomed. The friendly gardeners work diligently all day long to groom the gardens. The garden room we had was close to the beach. The housekeeping staff was highly efficient. The rooms were always cleaned in good time and we did not lack anything.Bed was super comfortable. The beach is one of the longest walking beaches we have experienced in the many all inclusive holidays we have taken. It is easy to walk on and never felt crowded; we are over 60 so a good walking beach was a real treat. We walked for close to an hour in the morning and an hour in the late afternoon. Overall a splendid holiday. Not related to the resort was our experience with AirTransat. Sufficient to say it was not good. We did not even meet the rep for the hotel after being given a meeting time to which he/she did not show up. We did not even get a phone call, a name of the rep etc. Hotel lobby staff were not surprised. We will be looking to use other airline packages in the future.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great stay

Very clean and well run resort, all meals were well above average. Service was excellent in restaurants, beach was very nice...had a small issue with language barrier at times and they could do a better job of advertising events. If i had to rate it on a scale of 1-10 i would give it an overall rating of 9. Very nice place.

Zel Cozumel: Excellent

Excellent only thing needed bedside lamps so you don't need the overhead lighting that is too stark. Would recommend and return liked the absence of kids in the adult area and students. The extra security at Cozumel seemed unneeded since we went through security in Toronto.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: An awesome resort

The resort was a big resort well maintained resort. Very friendly people there and always a pleasure to talk with. Rooms were well maintained and cleaned regularly The food was excellent and well organized. We would love to go back there

Paradisus Punta Cana: Very nice resort

All the staff worked hard to make sure we enjoyed our stay and were quick to offer any assistance we may have required. We found everything from the rooms to the grounds and the buffets clean and well-kept. The restaurants were very good and the buffets offered a wide variety of dishes. Not every dish was amazing but we were always able to find something good to eat. Sadly we could never find a chair at the pool because they are apparently reserved for towels.
