Gran Muthu Almirante Beach Resort: Nice clean resort

The resort still looking brand new, but far from the airport, about 55minutes drive. the people at the hotel are very polite and helpful. they need you to comeback and they need your business.The area is still under developing, the downtown is little bit far from the resort if you wanna plan to dine outside the resort at night. The roads are not safe to drive at night, you feel like you're in a mountains area, not like Varadero or Cayo Coco! The food and drinks are fair not the greatest since you know you're in Cuba, you still can find something to fill your stomach. Recreations people are very nice. Rooms in general are still new, nice views, and functional .

Memories Jibacoa: Great vacation

Great vacation for a trip to Cuba. Food was ok. Beach beautiful. Staff very friendly. Water sports amazing. Rooms outdated but the view amazing. Day trip to Havana was fun and very informative.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Great resort, will go back!

However...realize at times, food could get some people concerned. We had no issue or unreasonable concern. Cuba is enduring embargo and Covid leftovers as is rest of the world. Staffing is outstanding! Ladies on the front desk in some resorts can be standoffish. Not here each one engages customers with patience and enthusiasm and will stay with you till satisfied. Resort overall is clean and well sanitized, check out àny bathroom or their supplies to clean your rooms! Issues are few and I think easily resolved by active, managerial decisions....pull down screens at snackbar restaurant keep those birds from pooping on tables and chairs,,,,this is not safe. Also in Buffet flies in some areas are a concern 5 times in as many days I had to forgo food and drink. Only time I've encountered this in 20 years traveling Cuba or other international locations. Managers, visit your units and fix it!!! I must not forget room housekeepers for their hard work and attention to detail. It's great to have one maid for the entire stay. Jim, Milton.

Had an amazing time at Memories Jibacoa! The staff , food , resort was fantastic ! Staff were super friendly and helpful ! Resort was clean and well organized! We had Hurricane Ian visit us while we were there ! Everyone there were super informative and organized during the days leading to the hurricane ! Food was given the night before the hurricane was to hit and everything in place to ensure our safety ! I felt safe and calm knowing we were in good hands ! Iberostar Selection Holguin: Wonderful stay

We had booked at the Iberostar Selection for two weeks, we had arrived on a Friday and it was good at the start, the lobby representative had advised us to come back next morning and inquire in getting a room with a king bed since the one we were assigned to had two double beds and it was just husband and I. So we did, we got a room looking the ocean and a king size bed. We were happy with that recommendation. We had met some guests that Friday evening when we were checking in and they had wa [... read more]rned us that the food at the hotel was repetitive due to the shortage of food in Cuba, we weren’t surprised but the food was still tasty and it filled us at every meal. The beaches were beautiful and the entertainment at the main pool was fun and enjoying. We met a couple at one of the a la carte restaurants and they suggested that we check out the Coral level resort due to their excellent service and a much quieter atmosphere and the food was better, so we decided to get a tour that night, the Jr Suite sold us both and we transferred from Iberostar Selection to the Coral level the next day, it was worth the money and we would definitely return to the Coral when we return to Holguin. The main reason why we decided to change is because the maid that was cleaning our room had left our back sliding door unlocked on three days straight, I first thought it was my hubby that did that cause he is a smoker and would smoke on the little patio in the back of our room facing the ocean. We thought maybe she forgot to lock the sliding door but it continued to be left unlocked three times in a row after our room was cleaned, I did approach the maid and spoke to a client service representative at the main lobby because there was no manager available. Otherwise we had a good time and our friends also joined us in our trip during the second week of our stay. Thank you to all of the staff at both hotels, the service was good and I forgot to mention that the show at the theatre was good, only saw the show twice but it was entertaining and the main singer has an amazing voice.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Emazing beach!

Amazing beach. Service, food, supply etc. need to be fixed. Probably, all limitations are effects of Covid-19. But Cuba will fix everything sure. Beach, weather, water, sea, umbrellas, sand on a beach were perfect.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Wow!!!

Everything was great. Terrific. Excellent. Best 7 days spent !!! Staff was amazing. The hotel was awesome. It turned out to be the best trip in a very long time. Highly recommend to all friends and family.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Good Value for the 'Off Season Price' I paid

I have been travelling to Cayo Coco for over 24 years, have stayed at 8 different resorts. Have stayed at other Memories (chain) Resorts. This was my first stay at Memories Caribe. PROS: Staff: were extremely helpful, would go out of their way to accommodate you, they were always extremely attentive to the needs of the clients. Grounds: Lush and beautiful, very well maintained, aesthetically pleasing. Walkways and pathways in good repair and 'Accessible'. Rooms: The Deluxe Superio [... read more]r Room I had on the ground floor was one of those recently renovated, it included an upgraded 'open concept' bathroom ...a sleeping area (mine had two double beds) ,and separated by a low partition a small sitting / dining area. There was a full balcony outside of the patio doors equipped with to arm chairs and a small table. Dining: Could be done in the Buffet which had a good variety of food, a bit repetitious, but tasty and well prepared. There is also a 24 hour snack bar which served the usual fare i.e. burgers, fries, or sandwiches and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. While there I dined in two of the a la cartes .. both were pleasant, the food was enjoyable. Bars: There were a few of them, I stuck to mostly the Lobby Bar, an air conditioned enclosed area, great for those hot or humid nights, or nights when you just want to escape the mosquitoes* Patio Area: Nicely appointed, runs the width of the lobby and lobby bar, a great area to gather, especially when there is entertainment provided which there was some nights. Pool System: It was one of the nicer ones I experienced, with the larger pool visible to the smaller area where the swim up bar is located. Other Special Features: There is a neat little 'coffee shop' / ice cream parlor tucked away beside the larger pool ... it is not to be missed (I missed it the first few days) The Amphitheatre: provided nice cultural shows, and for those who needed ... A More Lively Setting: there is night time entertainment in the form of visiting musicians and bands who are only too happy to have you interact with them .. i.e. dancing, singing along .. creating a party atmosphere if you choose to. The Beach: Like all others in Cayo Coco does not disappoint, however, I was there during the heavy weather as Hurricane Fiona and Ivan 'passed by'. While that area was not directly impacted and we were still able to enjoy nice sunny days with the odd 'brief' shower .. the ocean was a bit 'irregular' with seaweed washing up and schools of Jelly Fish near the shore in the more shallow area, you would have to navigate past them, but one you got to the open deeper water, it was fine. THE ONLY CON: The Mosquitoes in that area were 'relentless', the only reason I would not return to Memories Caribe is because of this nuisance. Being located between two lagoons, it is a natural breeding for these pests. It became just too much for me to constantly be applying repellent .. much of which didn't work against them anyway. I would only recommend this resort to those who are O.K. with battling mosquitoes, or are not bothered by them.

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Sept 2022

I’d rate this hotel a 3 maximum. The infinity swim up bar was closed and the water was full of algae , the other main pool was not all that clean either. The hotel beds are comfortable and the room was generally clean however the screen door lock was broken on the main floor and the shower tile was moldy. Overall the food was a 1 star . They were often out of bread day to day or most items on the a la carte menus. Overall the hotel staff were friendly however there was not much in terms of ent [... read more]ertainment at the pool day to day. To find a ball to play volleyball was hit or miss . The mosquitoes are very bad , I had minimum 75 bites for a one week stay , as well as the sand flies . I understand this is the carribean however I have never experienced it like this before . The beach was not what you’d expect of a Cuban beach and the shore was covered in seaweed . I was travelling with my son and he is easy to please in terms of food, however the flies and bird feces all over the outdooor tables and chairs turned him off . Overall not the best experience .

Roc Arenas Doradas: My 2nd home!

I have returned to this hotel many many times. I love it here! The staff are all so nice and accommodating. The grounds are well looked after Some of the rooms have been updated. They are in the process of upgrading the others. But old or new, they are all still comfortable. The beach is beautiful. Hot white sand! There are 3 bars which are easily accessible. Playa Pesquero: Playa pescero

Excellent room but fair food services but in premium services every thing was fine food and pools and the beaches were fine too. One thing I suggest to do not eat in their restaurant is the banana wraped with bacon

Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco

All ground areas are very well maintained, public areas such as front lobby, lobby bar, swimming pool area bar, swimming pool are nicely organized. Dining areas also very well maintained but observed roaches in the main buffet restaurant. Evening entertainments were excellent. Resort garden areas are nicely designed with different plants to attract birds and I enjoyed seen them and captured good photographed. Hotel Playa Paraiso: Excellent Beach Front Resort

Our experience at this resort was great! The primary reason for our vacation was to be on the beach and swim in the ocean and we were not disappointed. The rooms were alittle dated and the mattress hard and springy, but the A/C worked well.

Gran Muthu Rainbow Cayo Guillermo: Great staff but disappointing food

The resort is a lovely spot and the rooms particularly with the ocean view are great. Other than some staff wearing masks, there was little evidence of covid protocol. The food generally was just okay. During the week we had two a-la-carte dinners which were great however all other meals were at a very limited buffet and were disappointing. Would love to return but only if the food improves greatly.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Iberostar Daiquiri GOOD TIMES

We had a great time, even though the main swim up pool and 2 a la carte restaurants were not open. The buffet and side bar food is good enough for me, I'm not a fussy eater as long as i got something to soak up the DRINKS. The atmosphere weather and beach is beautiful.. Please bring bug spray because those mosquitoes are no joke. Thanks again for a memorable experience

Iberostar Origin Playa Pilar: Think twice

Hotel not terrible but could be better Pool with swim up bar turned green day 2… the rest of week everyone went to beach. Beach/boardwalk nice…great snorkelling and lots of shade Rooms - you had to use 2 hands full strength to open patio doors (a friends room the handle broke because of the force required) patio doors didn’t lock and there was climbable metal lattice up to them No handle on the patio doors from outside so you couldn’t close the door if you wanted to sit out. Toi [... read more]lets barely flushed A friends safe didn’t work In His room. When he went back to room mid day he found the maid with his back pack open in her hands. when he returned later. He counted his money and found she had skimmed $80. He confronted her…long story short she eventually admitted it and gave it back. (How many more did she take from) Had $20 skimmed from our locked safe. Met 2 others who had money stolen from their safe I will give them credit - they did take a report and were investigating the thefts. Seemed to take it serious Food not the best. They did have a grilling station. So you could get by with chicken or pork with salt and pepper. Good bread! Pretty much had the same thing every day In their defence it was off season and the resort was maybe at 25% capacity. So I can see limiting the options to prevent waste A little disappointed with the beverages although all the bartenders were super friendly! First drink I ordered was a strawberry daiquiri and they didn’t have it…never knew what was available day to day/bar to bar Also, there was no consistency in how each drink was prepared, you never knew what you were going to get…too sweet, to tart, watered down or just right Again the options I can understand as supply availability is still an issue. The resort does have potential… If you are thinking of going try it in peak season. I think Maybe the combined off season/COVID effects were the majority of the problem which I can completely understand. Just keep an eye on your money, and hope they have addressed this issue

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Food is getting better

I have been to this resort 5 times this year. On the good side, food ( dinner ) was very good this time. Lunches not so much. Breakfast you can't go wrong. Rooms were about what I expected. Not perfect but also not horrible. Beach was awesome. Pool was very good . Mosquitoes were absolutely horrendous this time. I honestly don't know why or if it's just the season. One thing that I did find interesting was I was given a white wrist brand when I arrived and was told to change it the next day. I d [... read more]id notice that the local visitors all had white bracelets and I did notice this time I was treated significantly different. Not better, anybody can draw their own conclusion from this. I have been there many times this year and I would say that the food is getting better throughout the year but the rest of it is not excelling to the same standards. Service was generally not great. I would say that the service in the lobby in the morning was excellent. Not a horrible resort but I think they could do better. I will be trying other resorts in the future

Hotel Los Cactus: I was impressed by Los Cactus

This is my 18 visit to the island, never thinking of visiting Los Cactus, big mistake, the resort is AMAZING, best rooms i get in years, service is great like allways in Cuba, very clean inside and out, 24 h pool tables and pingpong, tenis court, piano bar, the pool is bigggg, i recomended to check it out, i am back in March for sure.

Roc Barlovento: The friendliest staff

Been to this resort 10 times. It may not me the top of the line but it is clean and the friendliest staff ever. As soon as we walk in to start our vacation we are greater by so many happy staff . They are so happy to see us.

Hotel Atlantico: Looks great, but it ends there.

This hotel looks good for what you paid. Nicely placed on the beach. The staff were friendly ,but not knowledgable in the reception.the food was awful . The room maids used the towels to wipe the sinks and parts of the toilet . The reception played favourites. And overcharged me for wifi. When I complained I was given 10 hrs. Free not to tell the manager. Often no plates. But... This I expect in Cuba.
