Ocean Blue and Sand: Awesome vacation

Everything about the resort was excellent ! Rooms were modern, the themes of restaurants and quality of food was very good. Drinks and service were excellent. Pools and bars were large and fun, activity staff was excellent, Beach was narrow right in front widened within steps either way. Overall our trip to this hotel was excellent and we would return. We have been to many different places in DR and this was a great one!

Marien Puerto Plata Hotel: Quiet Gem

This was our first time to the Dominican Republic. The resort was clean and tidy. Staff very friendly. Food was excellent. The a la carte restaurants were excellent and offered food not availbe at the buffet which was nice. Airport was close and we were wisked off to the resort and did not have to wait around. We did an excursion (Cable car, rum tour, etc.) which was great.

Ocean Blue and Sand: Cockroaches and room not what we booked

We booked sapphire pool view room which we had to argue for when we went to check in, we requested ground floor and close to pool thru our travel agent and I sent an email they had no record. 2 of the restaurants were closed every evening so the lineups were long at the other 3 after 630pm. We had to tip to get a few extra pops and beers in our room, never did see the the slippers but when we went to have a rest the 2cnd day we heard something under the bed it was a cat, scared the heck out of  [... read more]me ,so we had to lift the bed to remove the cat, couldn't leave the patio door open because our room was the cat hang out they would just walk in. Every nite they you could hear them fighting would wake you it was so loud. The food wasn't great but it was edible I didnt eat the fruit and salad because 2 people in our group sick and people on resort sick. The smell of sewage near the room was sickening. Mike's coffee shop was good. The casino was terrible do not enter! At nite you can watch a show at 10pm or go pay for bowling but 2 lanes are broken so good luck. Kids hangout There is music in the lobby band plays there you can listen to or once a week a drunk beach party! I wish I could put a picture of the cockroaches! The tv is maybe 32" the wifi is pretty good . Thank goodness because I watched my firestick since only 2 English speaking channels The staff was pleasant Air transat rep useless

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Rundown Resort

The whole place was rundown. Broken and uneven tiles to walk on around the resort, landscaping was neglected. I was disappointed from our rep from Trip Central saying it was comparable to an Iberostar, Not even close. They need to be honest and direct us to a proper resort that is comparable to where she asked us where we usually go.The buffet was not good food except when they has a Gala night at the buffet. The pictures online are false advertising. When we checked in at our room the door was wide open, We were all disappointed when we walked into our rooms, bare and poor looking. Our air, TV and safe did not work. Busted shower head on the floor. Our friends rooms was not even cleaned but was checked into it. It took about 3 hours of sitting and waiting for someone to come and fix, but eventually they had us switch rooms. We had to beg for clean towels, soap, clean glasses (after cleaning they would turn our dirty glasses upside down) to look clean. We had the bare minimum. The pool was always noisy The stage was surrounding a lot of the rooms so it was hard to get away from the noise at night. We were told it was a quite place. Never going back

Royalton CHIC Punta Cana: amazing resort

Very clean, excellent food. The staff are all very nice. Lots of activities. The rooms are nice and spacious. Beach is beautiful and you can walk a long way. The shows are fun and entertaining. I recommend this place, it was our 2nd time.

Presidential Suites Cabarete: vacations in the city

The hotel is located in two parts separated by a very busy street, the main road east. It is located in Cabarete, a rather ugly town. My windows were on the street and I was not able to open a window or use the balcony. There is a very loud noise from the street and the pollution is terrible (trucks and motorbikes 24h). The street is so busy that hotel has security guards who help people cross the street. I asked for another room but despite promises I have not gotten it (although there were two [... read more] buildings on the pool side empty). Practically there is no beach. Most of the time I stayed (2 weeks) it was completely covered by waves. There is no common place where people could gather in the case of rain (a very small place in WW bar is open to the sea and windy rains) and we could only stay in rooms. People were allowed to use glassware in the pool and on the beach which is dangerous. The hotel asked $3/day for safe and $15/day for Wi-Fi (in all other places I visited in Dominican Rep. they were free-Wi-Fi in the lobby!). There are very many staff people trying aggressively to convince vacationers to join the Vacation Club (VIP) and pay additionally for it. I was promised to get another room if I join it. The advertisements were misleading, promising rooms with pool or sea view and it was never stated that this is not a resort but a hotel in the town. Food was ok, but in the Italian restaurant some main dished were burned and hard and impossible to eat. I understand that some people with the ocean view could like it but I prefer a resort far from the city and pollution.

Bahia Principe Escape Aquamarine: awesome vacation

Chez GBP Aquamarine le services est irreprochable, la plage etait propre et les membres de l'equipe du GBP s'assure que vos vacances soit memorable et sans soucis. la Nourriture etait excellente et le restaurant a la carte Portofino nous a offert le souper le plus delectable de notre vie! Somme toute nous retournerons forcement dans un GBP pour une troisieme visite l'an prochain.

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Nice resort

This was our second trip here and we would return! Good food, nice beach, staff friendly and very clean! Only small complaint is there WiFi, it was not user friendly at all and many trips to front desk to rectify!! We have been to many resorts and never had this problem as we did our first trip here, not a game changer but, fix it!!

Iberostar Waves Costa Dorada: Great experience,

Hotel was excellent , food best in DR yet, Very impressed by their introduction of elimination of single use plastics and water filtration system. First hotel ever to offer face clothes daily and ice machines.

Paradisus Punta Cana: Great vacation

We had a great time at Paradisus. We visited with our 4-mo son. Staff were incredibly friendly, loved getting our baby to smile, and provided us with a crib and a baby bath. The grounds were gorgeous and very well kept. The food was great - lots of selection, surprisingly good lunches, fun experiences at the a la cartes. The beach and pool were both great, and it was easy to get tiki huts and chairs. The room itself was a bit dated and the view from our balcony left something to be desired (looked onto a neighbouring resort) but the bed was very comfortable and everything was clean. Overall, we were incredibly pleased with Paradisus! Best Pina colada I've ever had!

Royalton Bavaro Resort and Spa: Loved the resort

Beautifully landscaped and very clean Loved the ala Carte restaurants only downfall is poor service especially at buffet restaurants. Could have more shopping available on resort Beach is pristine and gorgeous.lots of choices for every age

Casa Marina Reef Resort: Subpar Resort

Front desk unfriendly but food/bar service and dancers were lovely. Air Transat staff helpful when around. Resort somewhat rundown but pools nice. A la cartes could’ve been better, seafood surprisingly terrible. Not many night time bar options.

TRS Turquesa: Excellent food and service

We have been to Punta Cana 4 times and this is best place we have stayed. The level of service and the attention to detail was exceptional. A la carte options for all meals. Walkable but shuttles available. No reservations needed for any Turquesa Restaurant. Butler service. 24 hour room service. We will definitely return.

Bahia Principe Explore Legend: Amazing

We just got back from a glorious week at the Bahai Principe fantasia resort. It was absolutely amazing. My husband and I traveled with our 2 1/2-year-old daughter and they did everything possible to make her feel special. It really was a kids wildest dream come true. Candy carts, entertainers, superhero nights, the list could go on. Specialty restaurants designed around children’s play parks so parents could enjoy a nice meal while the kids played happily. El Beso Adults Only at Ocean El Faro: Good Vacation

The resort was absolutely beautiful. The a la carte restaurants were very good. Loved that we didn't have to make reservations for all of them, only for the Japanese and it was easy. The food at the buffet was never hot nor was the food at the snack bar which was disappointing. Mike's coffee cafe was great as was the ice cream place. Pools were amazing. Beach was ok. We had an issue with our door when we arrived which took them over an hour to fix and it still didn't close properly unless you slammed it so everytime our room was made up the door was left unlocked and they wouldn't let us switch rooms even though there was no one in the rooms on either side of us. Had to call a couple of times to have towels brought or water.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED

Misleading description as one doesn’t have access to everything that is listed for Cofresi. Unless you want to become a VIP member that is. To do so, that requires the purchase of a time share. Most workers are lazy. The resort is messy and dirty. Empty cups, half full cups with cigarette butts, unwiped tables in the common areas. All this in the morning from the night before. It seemed they scrubbed the stairs with a bucket of soapy water at a time when people would be using them to go for  [... read more]breakfast. There we always puddles from either rain or a spray hose. Palm leaves that have fallen are not picked up. The grounds are not nice. Workers just walk past the above mentioned things. We’ve never seen this before at other resorts. The smell of sewer is prevalent as a PVC sewer pipe runs in a large trench right through the resort. Not sure if there is a leak in it or what but it was gross.It is not somewhere that we’ll be back.This certainly is not a 4 star, at best, 3 maybe and that is being generous.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Resort is great,

Just had a week stay at this most amazing place which I highly recommends for a great vacation. Great personal, Has an amazing buffet, highly efficient transportation throughout the resort, plenty of swimming pools, the beach was great. However, there were a few drawbacks. The bath room should be upgraded and modernize, such as humidity fan and bathtub assisted rail installed.

Cofresi Palm Beach and Spa Resort: Would not return to this hotel

Food and drinks were great Lots of stairs to go everywhere Mini fridge does not get restocked even if asked for more beer or pop. Get told they will not do it Beds where hard as rock to sleep on Only way get internet is if you buy it and its $60 for the week per device or can buy a sim card from the shop in hotel for the week for $40 and can hotspot with friends and family No entertainment staff by any pools Most bars and all pool bars closed by 5 and never found the beach bars It was [... read more] a 50/5 if they would make you drink that day at the bar as they would say didn't have stuff to make them and wouldn't get 8t in Only knew what the show was at night and the time hit never knew where the show was being held at Unless you where VIP you really where anything to them as they wanted everyone to upgrade to VIP AirTransat rep didn't want to handle any complaints They didn't offer the 20% off at the spa

Bahia Principe Escape Samana: Great resort!

Room service needs improvement as in response time. 2 orders were not even delivered to our room. A la carte restaurants need lots of advace booking as there is only one open restaurant per evening. Very difficult to find a spot at the pool or beach unless reserved with a towel by 7 am. Shower in room also only had a half wall which allows for water all over the bathroom floor which also has no exhaust fans in the suite bathrooms.

Dreams Onyx Resort and Spa: Now Onyx Jan 2020

Our stay was good. Morning tea in our building was never on time. Only one type of Cookies with your tea. I lost my $20 from my little purse which I left in the room. I didn't want to report it as this employee could be fired. On the whole we enjoyed our food. And the trip was enjoyable Very friendly staff.
