Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Not what I expected

I though for a melia I would expect more but . The room was nice the water sucks I went and ask about it and said they would fix it more then once, no hot water all week went to a friends room down stairs to shower ( bad) and very little water pressure. Pool area very well look after , nice pool guy and hard working. Dinning alacarte was good buffet ok . We made the best of it but 4 1/2 ? Water was bad , I heard others talking about too. Not what we were looking forward to .

Melia Las Americas: Will definitley be back!!

Beautiful resort. Very clean and quiet. Small enough to get to know the staff and guests. It was very nice to see the manager every morning and evening. Lush grounds, beautiful beach. The food was better than we were expecting, especially in the International a la carte. Lots of activities to choose from and we loved the live music at every meal and in the lobby bar. Staff were super friendly. Would definitely go back. A lovely first experience of Cuba!!

Hotel Vigia: Great Value - Definitely Return!

A lovely small resort. The hotel & rooms are a little dated, but we loved our stay here. Beach is beautiful, staff friendly & helpful, a couple of room issues which were dealt with quickly & followed up by customer service to ensure we were satisfied. Food was ok - it's Cuba, after all. Front desk staff were helpful. All in all, great value for the money we paid, and would definitely return!

best time in cuba food was #1 the staff and the resort #1..tks sunwing and tripcentral..easy check in very fast had great day trips.. rooms good and clean.wish to stay longer but will be back. great adult resort

Melia Marina Varadero: Good

Clean spacious and beautiful landscape , beatiful sandy beach,good. a la card restaurants, delicious grilled fish daily. And rooms well maintain. The covers and the beach chairs need to be replaced and keep clean. The patting covers are ripped and dirty and I sanitized.

Melia Las Dunas: Beautiful beaches

Larger resort than we normally go to a lot of walking, grounds well kept, staff friendly, food was good, relax pool area was excellent for quiet time. The beaches were excellent white sand, water nice and clear.

Sol Varadero Beach: Nice Resort- would stay again

Our family of 4 recently stayed at the Sol Sirenas Coral Resort and all in all we are very satisfied with our experience there. It was our first trip to Cuba and we had read that many resorts are older and a bit 'tired'. This resort fits that description somewhat but it is clean and presents well. The staff are always friendly and helpful. Patricia at the front desk took it upon herself to ensure we were moved/upgraded to a better room that was more suited to our family size. The bartenders, wai [... read more]t and cleaning staff are very personable and friendly. There are really two resorts in one here so there are a lot of dining options. The food in the buffets is decent and includes a wide variety of choices. The themed restaurants (Mexican, Cuban and Italian) were all quite good as well (better overall than the buffet meals we found). The grounds were well maintained and the 24 snack/booze bar and very handy beach bar ensured all needs were met. The vibe is friendly and laid back with a number of organized shows/activity options available as well. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider returning to this resort.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Sophisticated resort

Attentive and efficient service from the moment we arrived. Enjoyed a glass of champagn during the check in process while our bags were carefully delivered to our ocean view room. Very impressive start! Facilities and grounds well maintained by a friendly and competent staff. Many spoke english/ french quite well. A excellent variety of food choices including at the buffet, beach and pool cafes, and the a la cart restaurants. Terrific resort for older couples and romantics.

Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Good deal for price

Just returned from our week at Sol Cayo Coco. Started the late night check-in badly: although it says "ocean view room.......that doesn't exist! There was no water at all in the room. The phone didn't work. The blind covering the huge window in the bathroom was broken. The safe didn't work. The airconditioner didn't work. Not to impressed . But, the service was very good and very quick!.......All issues were fixed before immediately, or by the next morning. My husband improvised with the broken  [... read more]blind. The grounds must have been beautiful when new. The lay out was nice and interesting, with quiet spots and action areas around the pools. There was a lot of shoddy workmanship everywhere, buildings and rooms were dated and showed lots of wear and tear. Food was not that great, but the attempt was there. By the end of the week, though, most issues are forgotten since the service and the beach and water far surpassed any other issue. You also get what you pay for, so remember that.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: SO SO!!

Hotel was very clean but a little too large for what I enjoy. There should have been entertainment besides a DJ. The staff could also have a work shop on being polite ! Trying to get just a fresh bottle of water was a problem for the staff. The hotel seemed to be more interested in the corporate workers staying there then the all inclusive guests.

Melia Caribe Beach Resort: Needs Attention

Staff---excellent Grounds----absolutely beautiful Room----ok except it didn,t get made up until 5 pm. each day Adult Area(The Level)-----very quiet and plenty of lounges. Three restaurants and a buffet area----very good. Pool was a way too cold----not heated and neither was the hot tub----the ocean was warmer. Other Restaurants: French/Mediteranean/Italian----all very good Japanese----why they bother giving you menus is beyound me as the waiter went around convincing everyone to have the same th [... read more]ings which just so happens what the cook had on cart! Food ----except for the rice, it was ll over cooked as the cook spent far too much time talking and flipping his utensils around and not enough time watching what was on the grill. A ham sandwich could have beat what was put in front of me. The best meal was at the American Grill----you could pick out what meat/fish and the chefcooked right there to your specification-----my filet mignon was outstanding----MEDIUM RARE! If I could speak to one manager at this place, it would be the head chef----everything that was prepared and presented was well done except for the meat and fish. The cooks only know ONE WAY-----well done(they remind me too much of Scottish mother). I am a very good cook and just about everyone that I have ever cooked for prefer their main rare to medium. No matter how much you try to explain this to the waiters, it draws a blank.

Sol Varadero Beach: Amazing

All are excellent, rooms, dining, services and very helpful staff for sure I will visit this place again the beach is amazing and the bar services is excellent and no complains from the stuff for as long as you need

Wanted a swimming pool not just a wading pool Beach windy most days Snack bar restaurant greatly needs improvement Tired of cafeteria style meals Staff mostly friendly and helpful Hospitality room offered when waiting for a flight was disgusting Better not to offer anything than a dirty room with a broken bed and filthy shower

Melia Marina Varadero: OK Resort

The Hotel was built in 2013 - it is still nice and clean - only one pool, only one tennis court, only 3 A LA Carte restaurants included and one was not available Food was OK for Cuba, the beach is far away, from the hotel, but you can catch a hotel golf cart to take you there

Melia Marina Varadero: A little taste of Heaven

The Melia Marina is beautiful. The rooms are clean, the staff are wonderful, the food (for Cuba) hit the spot. The beach is absolutely gorgeous and the hotel being only a few years old is the nicest we saw. I would return again and again.

Melia Marina Varadero: VERY PLEASED

This is our third time in Varadeo, Cuba. The Melia Marine was well beyond our exceptions. Hotel was very clean and well kept and organized. The Hotel was fully booked and you didn't feel crowed. Reception was fast and very accommodating. Hotel was very modern and offered many facilities and daily entertainment. Pool area was fantastic, many many chairs, didn't have to reserve a chair, first time in a resort. I loved the beach, even though the hotel is not on the beach. Three a la carts were outstanding, great selection. Great entertainment inside and outside the hotel during the evening. We had pool side room, but if you wanted music and watch the boats than take the marina side. Overall a wonderful vacation. You will not be disappointed. I also give Trip Central a thank you, great service, you made it quick and simple. Also Canjet was outstanding, everything on time no waits and the Canjet representative was very nice and professional. Thanks for giving us a wonderful week of sun/water and feeling very satisfied.

Melia Las Dunas: Could not have asked for anything better

The Hotel is large but easily accessible, food was amazing especially the 24 hour restaurant, staff extremely pleasant and helpful, never without a smile..would recommend for either adults or families.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Very good

Rooms were clean, newly painted but still needs updating ( shower head and faucets ). Great service ,good food. Quiet resort, ideal for seniors and families with young children. We stayed there for our second year in a row.

Melia Las Dunas: Good resort in Cayo Santa Maria - Melia Las Dunas

It as our 6th trip to Cuba and 3d time in the row to Cayo Santa Maria hotels so I guess, we have apples to apples to compare. Overall, from the hotels experience it was the best hotel we had so far in Cuba. Food: Good variety of food in the buffet including choice of fish (snapper, tuna, catfish) and not “just fish” and meat (chicken, pork, beef) to grill. Food in Restaurants are not really good (if you expect it to be better there) – we tried Seafood; Italian; Japanese. Japanese was better than others if you do not thing about it as Japanese  Grounds: pretty good maintained, clean, no complains. Big advantage in my view – the grounds are very well planned so we did not noticed any long walks required (as for example we had in Memories in Varadero) Rooms: They are good. The hotel is not new, meanwhile all is in a good shape. But we are not very demanding guests. We had 3 rooms for our company so we had a chance to compare. They all were pretty much same good. We had no significant issues with water (hot or cold) except one time noticed there wasn’t any one night somewhat after 1 am but who cares that time. Was back to normal in the morning. Drinks: again Good choice up to Hennessey VS in the Bars (of course you need to ask for higher stuff, will not be offered as first choice, but it is not hidden and is on display so you can choose). As usual Cocktails will depends who is making them even in the same bar. Sometime just amazing, sometimes just OK. We got not the best weather, so if it would not be the hotel itself – it could be not good vacation. The hotel made it feel better.

Sol Cayo Coco: Sol Cayo Coco - Great staff

The grounds are lovely and the beach is amazing. If this place was updated it would be a jewel. The rooms are clean but the furniture is shabby (not chic), the beds are hard (my husband has a nice mark on his backside from the springs). The rooms are clean, bright and spacious however the curtain was covered with mildew. There is a safe which costs 2 pesos per day extra, no coffee maker or clock. Two bath towels and one hand towel only. The water pressure was not great. Plenty of storage space.  [... read more]The mini fridge has one bottle of water only, there were two days when we didn't get any water. When we were there, there was no problem getting loungers on the beach or by the pool but maybe that was because the weather was cool and windy all week. There was always pool towels available. The buffet was the same everyday but had something for everyone. There was a grilling station for fish, beef, chicken and pork (same tongs for all the meat). Pasta station, desert, fruit, salad and soup everyday. Breakfast had an omlette station, smoothie station and the servers were great. The bartenders and animation staff were all awesome, friendly and helpful.
