Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Nice Resort

Overall a good experience. Staff are excellent. Dinner restaurants are very good. Buffet breakfast has many options but would be considered average. Ocean has a little disappointment with a few rocks and heavy seaweed daily. That said they are active every day keeping it clean. Based on the beach I would have to score it a 4.5 out of 5.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Just perfect!

Perfect resort for families and also for adults at the adjacent resort Sian Kaan. Small resort with only a few steps from the restaurants, pools and the beach. The staff, entertainers and the service provided was outstanding and so was the variety of food available. The beach and the location is also perfect because of the proximity to a host of different attractions. We will be back and highly recommend this resort to everyone. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing resort

The staff were fabulous. They made the biggest difference. The waitors knew how to put a smile on ur face. Super clean place. A five star grounds and rooms were better than most. The entertainment was a awesome. Lots of different things going on and excursions for you to book.

Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort and Spa: 5* Luxury

We went to Riviera Maya April 15 - 22, 2018. We stayed at the Royalton Riviera Cancun Resort & Spa. Carol from Trip Central suggested this resort as we were undecided where to go. She said clients had just returned from there and they loved it. We were 2 couples traveling together. It was the higher end of our budget but we LOVED every little thing. It is only 5 years old. Although the beach had seaweed it was still amazing...we spent most of our days at the beach and in the water. The food was delicious! We would definitely return. Grand Oasis Riviera: Amazing Resort

The resort is amazing. We stayed at the Sian Kaan for the entire trip. The place is just a paradise, so calm, quite and beautiful. Food presentation is awesome, servers are very friendly but it would be better if they put more staff during the meal time so that it could be more efficient. The only shortfall is the beach area has too much sea weed and rocks, and if the staff can communicate in English. Otherwise, we have no complaints at all.

Royal Hideaway Playacar: Incredible Resort

The Royal Hideaway is the perfect adult all inclusive resort for relaxing and recharging. The grounds are impeccable, the staff goes out of their way to ensure you are looked after and the food is excellent. This resort has a very large, white sand beach that is never crowded and beautiful green water. Rooms are located in villas and each villa has a concierge to attend to your inquiries, make dinner reservations and help you with whatever you need. It is indeed heaven!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Amazing resort

Beautiful spot .The grounds were perfectly groomed. The look after everything. You real didn't need upgrade because all bars had good name brands .That Bahia still is the only one with mini bar fridges that has chips and chocolate bars in it .

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: This resort was ....okay.

The restaurants and buffet were quite nice, and the swim up bar is perfect for these hot days. It was my own neglect for not reading more about the resort before going, but the things that were a bit of a bummer were: 1) No room service, you cant even pay for it. 2) There are no waiters/waitresses at the pool or on the beach, so you do need to go to the bar to get beverages yourself. Not the worst problem to have, I know it sounds a bit spoiled, but every resort I have ever stayed at has h [... read more]ad this as an option so I was a bit disappointed. 3) The resort is massive, so be prepared to have a hotel room 5-10 minutes walk from the lobby/lobby bar/buffet/spa. They do however have shuttles running, so you can catch a ride quite frequently. 4) There is free Wi-Fi in the lobby only. I personally don't need to have internet at my fingertips constantly, but my travel partner has kids at home and wanted to be reachable. They have paid options for Wi-Fi, but they were listed as quite expensive. A tip for anyone going there - when you select the free Wi-Fi (while you are in the lobby), they give you an option for $10 for a full week. But if you don't originally select free Wi-Fi and you go directly to the Wi-Fi package options, there is no $10 option for your full stay, only the $10 per day option or more expensive for a full week. A bit sneaky if you ask me. The staff were lovely, and the room was good enough and clean. I would suggest staying at the Akumal resort if you want more of the luxuries, and their beach is better (WAY less seaweed). If you are a spa user - the one at Coba had a better circuit than the Tulum. I wouldn't stay here again personally, but we still had an amazing time, especially with the daily entertainment at the party pool. I am usually a backpacker that stays in hostels, so I am not typically a super fussy traveler. But when I go to a resort, I prefer all of the luxuries of being a lazy beach bum :)

Kore Tulum Retreat Wellness Resort: Exceeded my expectations!

I read a lot of reviews online and the resort is pretty quiet- especially at night, it feels like theres no one there! It was exactly what I wanted. Food options were better then i expected, but I eat a vegan diet- I had heard from some people that the meat wasnt so great there. The bikes absolutely need work, some of the tires were flat, and they were rusty! haha

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: 14th Time at the Grand Bahia Principe Coba, Mexico

This is a very beautiful resort. My wife and I returned for our 14th time in early April of this year. The staff are very pleasant, the food is outstanding, the beach is beautiful, there is dancing or a floor show most evenings and the weather is really great. When the fall/ winter arrives every year here in Nova Scotia, we immediately begin to make plans to visit our "Home away from Home" in sunny Mexico at the Coba!

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: First Class Incredible Resort

This amazing resort has very well kept beautiful grounds that are worked on every day to maintain a fresh & beautiful look. The rooms are well appointed that have been newly painted since last year. Fresh bottled water was always supplied in our room & a well stocked bar .. The bathroom was cleaned daily with fresh towels and toiletries. Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Beautiful, Well Kept Resort

The resort is huge with lots of options for food, pools and activities. The resort, including the rooms, is clean and well kept. The pools were very nice, towel service was easy, and it was never a problem finding a chair (mid April). The food at the restaurants and buffets was very good with lots of selection. The Gran Tortuga-Rodizio Restaurant has a buffet for breakfast and lunch and is a wonderful place to eat overlooking the ocean. The shuttle service between the other sections of the resort is quick and efficient. The only downside was that the beach was full of seaweed, but they were working around the clock to try to clear it away.

Grand Oasis Riviera: Absolutely amazing!!!

A fantastic smaller resort! Great large clean rooms, excellent for families with kids - kids zone with separate pool and activities! Shows were entertaining and food was delicious. Great bang for your buck - would happily go back!

Grand Riviera Princess: Terrific vacation At the riviera Princess Family suites

This is a large resort and exactly as described.The rooms are large clean and comfortable. A large resort with a lot of walking,pools are warm large and you have a choice of quiet or entertainment. The beach would be very nice if not for the seaweed that has accumulated . There is no clean up going on so that is an issue.Food was good plenty to choose fun ,buffet nice and fresh with variety. If any mobility issues this is mot the place for you

This resort was absolutely amazing! The best part was the fantastic friendly and helpful staff, from the reception to the waiters to bellboys and maids! The rooms were clean and neat! Not a wow ,but good services ,good variety of food and drinks Beach is the worse I ever seen until now,stones ,rocks and weeds everywhere ,smelly like a portable toilet ,machines and workers on the beach the whole day feels like a construction site not a relaxing beach .Awful Entertainment on the beach nonexistent

Grand Riviera Princess: Great time

This is a well kept resort. Very big landscape. Staff was friendly. Room was very clean and cleaned everything every day. Beach is nice but lots of seaweed and rocks at shore. Once in the water is great, your can walk for a long time with water still to the hips. Some days food was ok and some days it was great.

Valentin Imperial Riviera Maya: Amazing resort

The Valentin Imperial Maya is an amazing resort. We stayed there on our third stay the week of April 14,2018.If you enjoy walking this resort is for you, although all you have to do is call for a ride if you don’t feel like walking. Things to beware of at Grand Bahia Principe Coba Resort Mexico Beware of the grounds watering system, it smells like gray water (brackish) Beware of flooring in the rooms when wet especially in the washroom. The staff is not the problem here, the concept and management are. In our 7 days stay we met and talked to 4 Americans, 4 from England, 2 from NB Canada, 2 from Grandby Qc (one of which slipped and fell and hurt herself on wet floor in room), a family from Ontario (another who twisted her ankle on side walk), one woman from Gaspésie Qc, all of these people said they will never go back to Mexico. We met 4 more from NB and did not ask their opinion as they were happily drunk for the most part. Day 1 Arrival was without major incident. We waited more than we should have in the bus at the airport. Learned mid-way in route that it was because of 4 missing passengers and that they had been detained at customs for bring cigars into Mexico. Check in ok, bags no problems. It's about 3pm, Ok now try to find your room. Room number has 5 digits, 32032, building has another set of single or double digit, 3. All this is explained and written on your key card pouch. NO ONE TELLS YOU THAT EACH BUILDING HAS 2 SIDES IDENTICFIED BY A or B. And you can't just cut across the building …. oh no,,, you have to walk around it. Building signage …. good one side only and small print. You have to walk close to it to see the fine print of your 5-digit room number and then look at the other side of said sign for the building # and the A or B. Then you spend the next 2 or 3 days trying to find yourself using the 5-inch square map they provide shows somewhat the roads but then overlapped by square blocks to show you where the Lobbies are. Magnifying glass not included and North is at about 50 degrees east. Day 2 Get lost. Return to where you think you come from. Get lost again. Recognize 2 sets of large water tanks laying on their sides and these become your road beacons. Thank you, Tanks, day or night I can see, you and feel safe knowing I am on my way to my room. Cafeteria. Few if any tables are ready. Seems low on staff. Not very organized. Foods was consistent and good all week. Find one of 3 pools. Although the third is located near my tank beacon and I call this one the small pool with large bar. Full size bar for about 20 people pool capacity. Afternoon we want to find beach. Take shuttle service as it would take about 30 minutes' walk each way in 32 degrees Celsius. The beach..... well.... it is man made for the most part, with break water cement barriers creating a series of ponds where sea algae collect's and brave staff work to remove every day and where you are expected to swim as the rest is roped off for your own protection. Even by Toronto standards this hardly qualifies as a beach at a 5-star resort. Day 3. Don't get lost, find your way and even learn shortcut to pool of your liking. Service at breakfast is the same. Often no one to greet you at the entrance door and sometimes no hand disinfectant either. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Entertainment evening show.... He's bad, He's bad....Michael Jackson ladies and gents. 6 dancers on stage 3 new how to dance 3 had learned the steps. Day 4 Don't get lost, find your way and even learn shortcut to pool of your liking. Service at breakfast is the same. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Entertainment evening show looks like karaoke not very good at all. Mostly can't hit the notes. Day 5 Don’t get lost, help people who are lost. Service at breakfast is the same. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Magic show... I hear it was nice …. it lasted about 45 minutes. Get ready for bed, turn lights out, 15 minutes later water can be heard dripping on the floor. I see it comes from the ceiling and we are on the top floor. The AC is leaking, floor extremely slippery. Call front desk and problem solved in about 30 minutes. Day 6 Don’t get lost, help people who are lost. Service at breakfast is better, even management is pitching in. Stay at poolside and sun bade. Day 7 Heavy rain and lightning for most of the afternoon. Lightning causes a few power failures. AC in our room does not recover from power failure and does not cool any longer. Service man came fast but was more interested by the movie playing on our TV than resolving the issue. We used the ceiling fane that night.
