Hotel Playa Paraiso: It was nice

We arrived at 11am, the room was not ready until 2pm. Lobby bar area was small and nothing to it...bar was in a closed off area and it didn't make it look as nice. The staff was always friendly and would smile if you tipped them, or there wasn't really any smile. Pool was smaller then I been use to, and if you don't get a towel on it quick you don't really get a spot. They only cook once a week by the pool which is silly as the station is there all week. Stations offered pasta option grilled meats and fish..and the buffet counters had two sections were the same on ea section, sweet area was small and always the same too. The snack bar, another disappointment options were one page maybe 6 items to choose hotdogs, hamburger and pizza ( pizza closes at 5pm) and three types of sandwiches. Again last place I stayed Holguin Playa costa verde had a 5 pg menu option at snack bar. A la carte nothing fantastic, Portuguese, Cuban and Italian, stuck to buffet better options. Beach area was nice bar always had drinks they came around beach every once in a while to get your drink order which was nice. they only had volley ball at the beach as an activity once a day in the morning. Clean resort 95 percent French people at resort, not the friendliest but was fine. Overall friendly staff, clean rooms, and resort, not sure I would rate it a 4.5 lacked in food options and size. Would we go back, no I would not go back there again....time to try something new besides cuba. Travel date was 18-25 of Jan. 2015. FYI Crystal beer - you have to buy it 1.00 unless they run out of there beer then you get that..they had vodka and other better quality drinks you had to pay for.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: AWSOME EXPERIENCE!

Lovely beach. Very good food quality and variety . Clean, well maintained Resort. Staff will go out of their way to make your stay pleasant. Entertainment, professional shows, plenty of activities. Observation: More lawn chairs required, the only way to secure one, was to "drag" it with you from the beach to the pool and vice versa.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Nice resort

The room was nice. The food was alright. Nice activities. A little far from entertainment but it's the location. Nothing to complain really. The service at the buffet was not really fast. We had to pick everything up ourselves.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: very relaxing

friendly staff, beautiful beach, fantastic room cleaning, great shows at night, helpful staff willing to make your stay the best possible vacation ever. Bartenders and waiters/waitresses are very friendly and pleasant.

Hotel Camino del Mar: A Real Jewel!

Small Resort of 300 rooms! Very cozy, warm & inviting! Close to everything! Food is delicious, large variety! Pizza, pasta, chicken, beef, pork, many choices of sides! Desserts are out of this world! Very clean! Warm & friendly staff! Great entertainment! Beautiful beach, pool, bars!

Example: What did you think about  this hotel? (grounds, public areas, rooms, dining, features, etc.)All was OK except dining which is an issue in Cuba re quality etc but which we were able to deal with.

Hotel Mojito: WOW Great Value

I read a lot of reviews and most are bang on. The service at this resort is excellent. The bar staff are all on the mature side and I think that helps. Food at a la cartes was good and presented well. Buffet was best I have had in Cuba and several items surprised me being tastier than expected. We tipped appropriately but didn't feel like it was a pressure or necessity . Swim up bar is too shady to sit at but still fun to visit for a cool drink. I would return in a heartbeat with Friends or Family.

Hotel Vigia: Wicked resort.

I really enjoyed my stay at Sol Cayo Guillermo. The people were very friendly and HElpful. The disco was a blast. The food was amazing. The beach was the best I ve ever been too. Beautiful white sand and it was about a minute walk from our room.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Great resort for the value.

Little disappointed in the beach this year. Very friendly staff . Food was good (we never staved) Spiderman was a highlite. Alin in the buffet area was a great server. Loved her personality,always had pleasant smile.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Cuban resort.

Clean, friendly staff, decent food and a beautiful beach. We kiteboard and the resort was very accommodating to our needs including providing us with a hose to clean our gear at the end of our trip. We've been town other hotel on the same beach recently and the iberoatar was significantly nicer.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Has gone down hill since last January 2013.

Rooms and room service excellent. Grounds, pool and lawn chairs kept in excellent condition. Entertainment in the evenings-very enjoyable. Beach towel exchange -non existent-once in 8 days! Customer Care line rep rude to request for additional pillows and Spanish translation. Spent 1 hour going to Al-a carte restaurants to book suppers- should be done by 1 person on line in 15 min. or less! Last year we experienced a real family feeling with lots of opportunity to voice our opinions to the manag [... read more]er who was visible on a daily basis. Our rooms where booked and we received our keys as we entered the bus from the airport. Also we did not have to waste time booking al-a-cartes as that was done for us and the list placed in our key envelope. The atmosphere has definitely changed. Some staff lied to us when they didn't want to get us specialty coffees-said machine was broken-when we went to bar ourselves- machine was working. Bar service was excellent.

Melia Jardines del Rey: Will grow to be a five star with time

Presently a 4-4.5 star resort. The grounds are new and need maturing, the beach has some rocky areas but opens to sand and beautiful waters, the food is very good for Cuban standards, entertainment was impressive and the activities crew encourage visitors to join in. The buildings are quite nice with a few hiccups to iron out...our showers cycled between hot-warm-cool. Some buildings had leaking from rain falls, others had a few temporary electrical outages. Melia Cayo Coco: Melia Cayo Coco

We stayed one week in this lovely, small resort. The food was very good, as was the service. One thing we really enjoyed was the live music every night in the main lobby area. The beach was the only slight negative, as it isn't the white, wide beach you generally associate with a Caribbean vacation. But, all in all, we had great time, and would recommend this small, adults only, resort to people looking for a quiet, restful vacation.

First I will say I have read reviews about this hotel and wonder where these people stayed. My wife and I found this vacation very relaxing and pleasant. The room was clean and the maid service great. The grounds were well kept and the gardeners were very friendly. The pool was clean and chairs were easy to obtain. The beach was always being cleaned and the water clear. The food, well we were in Cuba, but surprised the food much better than other times we were in Cuba. Food was tasty with large variety at both buffet/alacarte. Grounds were beautiful well kept. Service was great if asked for. Except for 1 rude customer service rep. Diamond club package was misleading

Beautiful location, amazing staff and management, standard rooms, big selection of food. Love the excursions, tons of activities during the day and the night shows are great. Great value for your $$. Quick tip, building 1 is close to everything but you will hear all the night activities well into the morning.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Fabulous staff and resort!

I can't find enough words to describe the staff at the resort. They were amazing, especially when my brother in law became sick. The pools were clean and the food was super. The crazy games were a blast and my family would definitely return again!

Melia Jardines del Rey: Amazing resort and simply wonderful staff!!

This resort is very new and is still going through some discomfort associated with the birthing process. However they have outstanding operational staff in all departments. They take pride in what they do and how they do it. Their entertainment is outstanding! Hotel Playa Coco: Beach is Amazing, resort is my Happy!

This is my fifth visit to Hotel Playa, each year there has been improvements in the overall resort, rooms, restaurants, upgrades in washrooms, lobby and more perks for repeat visitors! The hotel staff are helpful, courteous, friendly, and respectful. The beach is a beautiful family friendly, Sandy, flat, and lots of sandbars and lots of beach loungers. They now have bar staff coming into beach to serve beverages etc. Beach towels are in your room when you arrive. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful staff and rooms, awful beach

I was at this hotel from Jan 11-18th 2015. I go to Cuba for the beach and when I saw this beach I almost cried. it is rocky, seaweed and the water was cloudy. You cant walk out with water shoes as the rocks are so sharp. They have a peer however the steps are broken and slippery.. I only got down it once so I swam in the ocean once. The pool was nice, people nice, ala carts excellent. So if your going for white walk out sandy beaches don't go here but if you have kids and like the pool its ok.
