Hotel Playa Paraiso: Beautiful Beach

The Hotel has a perfect layout with a beautiful Lobby, grounds & pool(with swim up bar). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. The room decor is very modern and equipped with room safe(included), iron board,hairdryer. The hotel is situated on a beautiful sandy beach-perfect for swimming,snorkelling,kayaking, or lying in the sun(bar/music/grill) located on the beach as well(no bathroom on beach-short walk). Starfish Cayo Guillermo: Fabulous time!

This was our first time at Allegro Club and we had a thoroughly enjoyable time. The resort is small, but very spread out so you never felt crowded even when the resort was full. It was windy for the first couple of days which allowed the kite surfers to do their thing and they were amazing to watch! Our room was clean, bug free, the a/c worked very well as did the hot water which came with lots of water pressure. Beds were very comfy. The staff was very friendly, within the first day you're on a first name basis with all of them. The Hemingway Bar in the lobby serves the best coffee I've ever tasted, bar none. We only encountered two negatives during our time there. One, a minor inconvenience was that our TV didn't work and after asking for a remote control for three days I finally gave up. (Wasn't there to watch TV anyway, but some noise in the room at nighttime would have been nice.) Another was our room safe. The night we arrived, our porter showed us the safe which should have opened with our room key. The safe wouldn't open so he assumed it was the batteries to the lock with the mechanism being locked inside the safe. He reported it to front desk that night and by early afternoon the next day with no one coming by, I also reported it. Again, no one came by to fix it so I reported it again the third day. Again, nothing. Then I spoke to my Hola Sun rep who also took me to the front desk to report the problem. Four requests in four days to have it fixed got us nowhere. This in turn caused me to carry our money and passports everywhere we went. Aside from that though, it was a great trip and a great time!

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: excellent resort. loved this resort.

loved loved this resort, 1st trip ever and the staff were more than awesome. clean large rooms, awesome beach, awesome pool, food takes some adapting. sun was hot.... the staff can't do enough for you, they are excellent. served me breakfast in bed the morning of my birthday, enjoyed my 54th birthday so much, it was the 1st time I ever had a hot beautiful day for my birthday.1st trip down south

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Will go again!

I will start off by saying that usually my husband and I like to try new resorts, but we both agreed that we would return to Memories Flamenco again. Check In: as easy as it gets; its done at the bus when you get off the plane..keys in hand. I didn't get my bungalow request as they were at full capacity, but they did fulfill the extra bed request. We were happy with being in bungalow 8 as it was further away from the noise (for our kids to nap during the day). I wanted a terrace, so we could eas [... read more]ily go back and forth from the room without using the door to the hallway...some bungalows have actual terraces and others have balconies that are a foot off the ground...fyi. Beds are firm, which I love, and the pillows thin, I brought the neck support so I had to use that. Food: was good enough. Buffet was great! Croelle alacarte was the best food there; don't miss on trying the creole soup, fantastic!! Asian, was good, not great. We ended up passing on the Mediterranian as my kids do better at the buffet. Snack bar food was kinda brutal actually..besides the fish, it was great. There are 2 additional food stations set up at noon and 1..one at the pool (up top), and it was different everyday, burgers there were really good...food at beach was ok too. Book your alacartes upon arrival after 3pm at the restaurant; they fill fast, as they were at full capacity; booking 4-5 days in advance. I would have brought more snacks, like granola bars, as they don't have much at the store. $5 for a can of Pringles and they were out for several days. Pool: great..kids pool, large. Water was not that cold at all, was just right when the sun is out. Go early and save your sunbeds by 8am for poolside...you have more time at the beach. Kayaks are free to use, but they only have adult size life jackets, so bring your own for kids. Beach: now here is were peoples opinions differ...we didn't really mind the coral, I wore water shoes..and was fine, there is one entry point to the left of the pier that has the best access, (least amount of coral to walk over)..once you do the sand is really nice..water is clear. Lots of sea life to discover. We went to the pier early 730am and could see lots of fish, a ray, a huge crab..later we found a starfish and mollusks, huge hermit crabs etc... the coral was something interesting for us.. kids loved finding shells and anemones. Kids Club: we took full advantage of this, and I talked to alot of parents who had been before, and got names of the staff members..all the ladies here were fantastic and love their jobs. My kids asked to go there everyday..so it became habit: breakfast at 730, and then they went at 9 when they opened..for an hour. Gave me an hour to myself and my husband went to the gym. Nena is the primary lady there..she is very good and has everything under control...so don't worry! LOL. She will babysit in the room for $5 per hour too. Entertainment: We saw the Jackson show, and was great..and a few minutes of the Retro show.. Poolside games through the day too, looked like fun, if you are into that. Grounds: are beautiful, very well maintained.. Rooms: simple but very clean and a good size. Air conditioning worked very well. Bring an adapter if you want to use your own hairdryer, and all the outlets are 220V. There is one 110V on the hairdryer there you can use to charge cell phones but it doesn't accommodate the large prongs on flat irons..I had bad hair the whole trip. :( Staff: All very very nice, sincere people... I fell in love with Cubans...and made some friends. I brought some small gifts and they are very grateful. (lotions, deodarant, hair elastics for girls, gently used clothing, sippy cups, old toys)... things are very expensive for them so they are so grateful. WIFI: is spotty, first 2 days it was down completely, and I was able to connect near the lobby bar with no problem. I didn't pay anything either..used it for texting np, but couldn't access internet. Bank: bring cash. They do accept visa but the phone lines often go down, and that means visa machine is down as well...I was lucky that I had the cash for departure taxes already because it was down at the airport too..so plan ahead!! Excursions: only went to Pilar Beach, and you do not want to miss it.. had we gone earlier, we would have made 2 trips, was most incredible beach I have ever seen. Its an hour by bus but soooooo worth it. You can rent the loungers for $2 or the shaded beds for $10, but you get 3 drinks included... must try the Pina colada on the beach, YUM!! The restaurant was excellent; we had the shrimp and lobster lunch for $18

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Excellent would totally go back!

Resort was clean and staff where very helpful and friendly. The beach was a little rocky but still beautiful. The entertainment was great and the dancers were so amazing to watch. The Bartendars Mandy and Travars in the lobby bar where excellent!

Sol Cayo Coco: Great resort overall, food could be updated

The rooms were clean and the water was hot. The beaches (both of them) were beautiful and well maintained, there was plenty of room for everyone. The food at the buffet was lacking, the stations were great but the line ups were long.

Sol Cayo Coco: Great Winter getaway at a very reasonable cost...

We enjoyed our first visit to the Sol Cayo Coco, January 9-16 and would definately return. It's a nice, well kept older small resort, clean, close to the airport, good layout, easy to get around, great people, good beaches, good food, variety and quality. We had a very nice room on the second floor overlooking the mini putt yard. Grounds are well kept, the pool is nice and well divided for children, activities and lounging. The staff is excellent in trying to keep up with meeting expectations. I [... read more]t is Cuba not the Bahamas. Overall this resort offers great value to it's customers.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Beautiful Memories !

Beautiful place, very clean, amazing staff ! Food, very good for Cuba but buffet needs more variety...... always the same. They have pasta and rice station, so it's all good. A la carte... Italian is on the beach with pizza or pasta, very good. Cuban, not so much. The Micheal Jackson show was excellent. Don't miss it. One thing this resort must look into would be to add signs for beach, pool, restaurants and bars. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: It was ok!!

The rooms were clean and not fancy but all you need when you are away. Laundry is out sourced and unfortunately didn't deliver for days which meant using the same beach towel for 4 days. Towels in our room were changed daily. You will have difficulty staying connected as they sell cards for internet & they didn't have cards to sell for our 1st 3 days there. Buffet restaurant had a great omlett bar for breakfast. I recommend making reservations in the specialty restaurants as they were the best m [... read more]eals that we had. Staff were friendly. I wouldn't recommend the spa for manicure/pedicure. Very unprofessional, numerous interruptions & they added water to the nail polish. The breach has coral at the shore which makes for difficulty walking in the water.

This hotel is very clean and well maintained The beach is just gorgeous and the water is beautiful, natural sand bars The rooms were very clean and everything up to date Bathrooms were very nice Would return

Muthu Colonial Hotel: So so

Food was good but would be better if there were some changes each day. Room was ok but mattress was really bad. Had a back ache. Receptionists were not much helpful. Wifi should be free. Phones were too expensive.

Hotel Playa Coco: Fantastic

Hotel was great. Clean, Spacious. No complaints. The beach is breathe taking. We never had a problem getting chairs on the beach. Everybody works so hard to make sure you have everything you need, they are very friendly and accommodating. Food...Always something for everybody.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Beautiful resort

We loved the resort, 10* staff,entertainment and food. To bad it's not maintained well, lots of things broken, the management is not keeping up with the maintenance needed and it's very unfortunate because it's a beautiful resort. We love the beach and this resort doesn't have a clean beach, lots of coral and it's very hard to go in the water. So for beach lovers this resort is not a good choice. They compensated us by upgrading us to a ocean view room and even offered staff to move all our stuff. As for the service this resort is amazing and will go out of their way to make everyone happy.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Exellent service - wonderful people!

Our first time to Cuba and what a great experience. There are always little things that come up but I have to say that each one was handled promptly. One girl in particular was really helpful Dayana in the public relations department. She had a great attitude and handled things quickly which kept us at ease. P The beach at this hotel is second to none and very safe for kids. If you have time for an excursion I would highly recommend the full day trip to Moran. Tryp Cayo Coco: Beautiful Resort

Maid service clean your room everyday and always made sure you had plenty of toilet paper & bottle water in your fridge. Friendly staff always making you feel welcome, beautiful beach with plenty of chairs. Excellent food, the buffet has an awesome make your own pizza station, pasta bar and stir fry station. The grounds are well maintained and clean.

Melia Cayo Coco: Would go back for sure!

Everyone was so friendly and always had a smile. The rooms were clean and they all seem to be centrally located to all activities. The grounds, pool and beach were very clean and safe. The meals were amazing, I think I gained 10lbs:)

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Average resort, 3 stars

Grounds nice and clean, beach not so clean, hard to get to water through rocks, no exchange for towels, telephone service overcharging, food, lots of choice but also reused, smelling at times, stuff very friendly, Hotel room not as expected for high rated hotel, drapes, bed covering, humidity smell....

Tryp Cayo Coco: It was a good resort, but not 'impressing'

We spent a week at TRYP the 2nd week of January. With very friendly service and awesome staff at the meals, we were very impressed with the buffet & a la cartes. Our room was right by the main stage which made for louder evenings, and only cold showers. We loved the quiet pool as it was away from all the noise of the activities at the main pool - and the party animals. It also seemed that there were a lot of locals doing work there, but made you feel a bit insecure safety wise. Great great great [... read more] beautiful beach. Super close to the airport.

Hotel Playa Paraiso: wonderful experience

Good value, excellent staff, food excellent! great for families. Beaches a little rocky on one end, but nice along the rest. Loved evening entertainment in the lobby and kids mini-disco show was great!

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great Family Resort

This was our first time in Cayo Guillermo and we had a great time. This is small resort but it accomadates people of all ages. This is an older resort but its a good one. The entertainment people are excellent and always try to go over and beyond. The people were always so friendly. The only thing I would suggest is take a bottle to fill up with water, they only replenish the beverages in the minibar ever other day.
