The hotel itself was nice. Staff were Rude. Bar service was very slow. No buffet for dinner. Food was too high end. Beach was clean. Resort was clean. Pool and most of the resort closed at 7pm not enough evening entertainment

Secrets Akumal Riviera Maya: Beautiful resort

The resort is beautiful, different from all the others that we had been in so far. The decor in the room is very chic, the grounds are well kept and an interesting mix of landscaped gardens and natural jungle like environment. Beautiful beach with white sands and good service from entertainment, cleaning and dar tendering. Amazing wildlife in the water; you go snorkeling not too far and see tropical fish, giant sea turtle's and stingrays The restaurants are good but a little disorganised; t [... read more]hey don't make reservations, it's first come first served and everyone wants to eat dinner pretty much around the same time. It's obviously getting busy and they don't do much to speed up but are rather slow . We spent more than two hours in the French restaurant one evening. They do their best to accommodate you if you ask or complain and I was happy with the service.

Secrets Maroma Beach Riviera Cancun: Beautiful Beach, Great Service

Secrets Maroma is in the process of renovating their rooms and we stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms. PROS: * Adults only! No kids! Most of the people were couples. There were a few groups of women, but 95% couples. * Excellent service everywhere. Beach drink/food service was constant and they brought you water without asking. They also bring around cold face cloths in afternoon and clean your sunglasses. Concierge called us by name and was very helpful. * Beach is very  [... read more]nice. Sand is white powder. No rocks in water or beach. Lots of palpas and chairs for sun or shade. * Food is excellent. Montreal steak at Portofino restaurant is to die for. So tender you don't need a knife. The food quality is great. However, I found the selection to be lacking at the buffet. Most large resorts have a large buffet selection. There was plenty to eat - just not the selection that most large resorts offer. * Nightly shows were entertaining and different than most resorts offer and are worth watching. They offer lots of daily and evening entertainment including foam party in pool, live size angry birds, Mexican bracelet making, spinning in pool, BB gun shooting, archery, mini golf, Texas hold em tournaments etc. CONS: * If you are a smoker, this is not the resort for you. When you check in, you have to sign a piece of paper that you will not smoke in your room OR ON THE BALCONY!!!!! (Which is absurd - I can understand in the rooms, but not in outdoor open areas) My husband smokes and felt like a criminal. There are only a couple designated smoking areas and you are not supposed to smoke anywhere except in those areas. People did smoke in the outdoor areas and on the beach, but had to do it very discretely. * Air conditioning in our renovated room is movement activated. Therefore, it completely shuts off at night and it gets hot in the room. Whenever one of us woke up, we would have to get up and walk around in order to set off the sensor to start up the air conditioning. It was a major pain in the ass and it gets hot in the room real fast. * Although the brochure states that there is a buffet for dinner, the World Cafe where it is supposed to happen is closed every night. A couple nights there is a buffet/show around the pool, but on some nights there is no buffet dinner. * The Barefoot Grill was closed due to maintenance. There is a handout that you get every night telling you the activities etc for the next day. There was nothing on the handout to say the Barefoot grill was closed or that they had moved the food to the other side of the Seaside grill restaurant. They should have posted a sign on the Barefoot grill. We didn't know that you could get food elsewhere. Very poor communication, especially when they have a flyer going out every day. It should have been updated. * We were told by the beach service staff one day that we could not sit at the beach under the palpa because we were only two people and were told to leave the beach area. This really made us angry and upset. Especially when on each side of us, there were two people under each palpa and they never said anything to them. This resort has too many rules. It's crazy.... don't smoke, don't sit here, don't do this. I am giving this resort a 5 star because the beach was gorgeous and the service and food were excellent. The resort is very nice. I think every resort has problems and issues they need to fix and no resort is 100% perfect. Because the main elements of food, beach, service and accommodations were very good, I will give it 5 stars.

Secrets St James: Secret St. James--a must return trip!!!

Secrets Wild Orchid: Triple amazing Resort!!

Our time at Secrets Wild Orchid was breathtaking. I cried when we got onto the airport shuttle! Every single thing I would rank as excellent. Food, room, view, housekeeping, friendliness of staff, day activities, the beach, the cafes on site, wow. Can't say how wonderful it all was. I now trust trip central and your rankings. There is no other website I've seen that creates rankings with as much clarity as you do. Secrets Royal Beach: An Enjoyable Vacation

The resort was very nice as everything seemed new, in good condition and cleaned daily. There were daily activities and a lot of polite enthusiasm from the entertainment staff to encourage involvement (i.e., won't ask you if you aren't making eye contact/look kind of interested). The beach was beautifully kept, the equipment you can rent out is enjoyable, and the beach volleyball lasted hours. There were plenty of seats, great towel service. However, to get a private palm tree umbrella you'll  [... read more]need to be on the beach by 9:00/10:00 and to get the best ones (great view) you will need to be there by 8:00, although the second tiered ones were still nice. This is a small resort and not lively, ergo, it is very peaceful and relaxing without many obnoxious characters. However, expect a minimum nightlife (enjoy the casino, the roulette was very entertaining). There were plenty of options for food/drinks as you could take advantage of the amenities of the sister resort which was directly connected to secrets royal beach. Overall the food was nothing to write home about and the best part was it's abundance and ease of access (we went for dinner around 5-8 every night and did not need reservations at any restaurant). The drinks were delicious and there was a large variety of them. You can order sparkling/red/white wine to be delivered to your room free of charge whenever you would like. The beer (Presidente) was okay (it's a light beer), but you could always go to the lobby bar/order room service to get Budweiser bottles. The cups you get from the beach/pool bar were great (hard plastic, large size), no need to bring your own drinking container. The lazy river style of pool was very nice and ensured that you could find privacy from the crowds if you desired (essentially allowed you to have your own private pool). We stayed in a Garden View Room which was very close to the main stage. The stage was incredibly loud every night from ~8-10 as they always had a show at night/welcome to new guests (I'd suggest a pool/ocean view room if this poses a problem). However, this was the only detractor from the room and you could easily grit your teeth and ignore the noise/leave the room. The mini-bar in the room was restocked daily with beer/pop, and the room service was quick and just as good as any food from the restaurants (I'd stay away from pizza/large amounts of cheese, it isn't the best quality). Overall, the resort was nice, provided a very relaxing/enjoyable vacation and was of great value.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: FANTASTIC RESORT !!!

This hotel was absolutely fantastic it was my husbands birthday and they made it very special for him. Banner on door, balloons, champaign, cake etc. The food at all restaurants was delicious. Not too fussy on the employees in front lobby offering you breakfast at another resort to check it out. Ends up being a sales pitch for their club memberships! Didn't feel they where up front and tricked you into going to another secrets for their "pitch". Also took almost double the time they told yo [... read more]u. Rooms where very nice and clean, beds super comfortable. Will definately recommend this hotel to anyone. We will also be back.

Hyatt Zilara Riviera Maya: Simply Beautiful!

Nice resort, nice people, great dining. Definitely would go back! Made life long friends and enjoyed the multicultural atmosphere. Would recommend to someone looking for lots of rest and relaxation in style.

Secrets Royal Beach: Beautiful Resort

We were very pleased with our vacation at the Secrets Royal Beach resort. The resort was beautiful, the staff were friendly, courteous and were always there to ensure that you were enjoying your stay, and the food was very good. The restaurants allowed for a good variety, the quality and presentation was excellent, and the staff were attentive to special dietary needs. The buffet however was of average quality, and as such we recommend dining at the restaurants. Some of the restaurants were  [... read more]located within the Now Larimar section of the property, which although was only a short walk, is not an Adults Only resort. The rooms were very clean, spacious and well decorated. The balcony with the aqua tub was a wonderful feature. Some minor improvements such as wine and snacks in the mini bar and upgraded pillows would be a welcome addition. We must add that our agent, O'Neil, went the extra mile to contact the hotel to advise them that we were celebrating a birthday, and the hotel in turn provided us with a room having a beautiful view in a premium location close to the beach. This extra touch was much appreciated. The beach area was beautiful and well maintained, with excellent service. There were some areas where the seating was quite concentrated, however it was easy enough to find a space somewhat removed, and the beach area was never crowded. The pools were stunning, offering both entertainment/activity areas as well as quiet private areas. One problem was that the seating around the entertainment pool was limited and we would have to go very early to ensure that we had lounge chairs in an area that offered some shade. In many areas the seating was rather close to the pool, resulting in a narrow pathway for walking between the pool and the lounge chairs. There were a couple of days that we found that the pool itself was not very clean. The entertainment team was awesome and very energetic, however compared to other resorts that we have stayed at we found that the activities were somewhat limited. We also found that the night time entertainment was somewhat lacking in quality. Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay at the resort. Some small touches and improvements would help to make this a 5 star quality resort. On a scale of 1 to 10 we would rate the Secrets Royal Beach as an 8.

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Perfect in every way!

Wife and I booked this place for our 2 year anniversary/honeymoon and it excelled beyond any of our expectations. Rooms are great, clean and well maintained. Pools/gardens/facilities are awesome and beautiful. Food everywhere was top notch with so much selection. Service was the best as all the staff went above and beyond to serve in anyway they could. If you are looking for a resort that is relaxing, with lots of entertainment, incredible drinks and food, nice beach, amazing facilities and best staff/service than this is the place for you. If you want a place with a perfect beach than this may not be the place for you, if they could remove the rocks than this would be perfect paradise. Very pleased overall and can't wait to check out some of the other AM resorts.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: First Class Resort

This resort was luxury and class all the way. The photos on the webpage are exactly what you get. The service is excellent. We loved not having to make a reservation for dinner and just ate whenever and wherever we wanted too. Make sure to dress well for dinner Men should have pants, collared shirt and most importantly, dress shoes..All meals were presented stylishly, even room service, The food was of a high quality. The coffee is not great so we learned to ask only for expresso. The beach had [... read more] silky white sand and was clean but did have a seaweed bed not far off shore and there was a lot of loose seaweed in the water and always seaweed on the beach even though there were staff who came and cleaned it off the beach twice a day. We still spent all our time at the beach and didn't use the pool at all. The only issue I had was the jet skis that raced up and down parallel to the beach constantly. This left the smell of gasoline in the air and a bit of a film on the water. As this resort is right next to a dolphin sanctuary, the jet skis should go! We required medical attention during our stay and the resort doctor came right to our room and arranged transportation to the hospital and for the specialist to see promptly. The concierge phoned twice the next day to see if all was well and did we have everything we needed. The one comment I would make is that this resort is to the north if Cancun by about 15 - 20 minutes. This impacted the excursions we did as everything has to go through peak hour traffic in downtown Cancun, coming and going. This added an extra hour on to any exciursion and we felt it wasn't worth spending the 5 hours driving to swim in a cenote or swim with turtles etc! The golf course was beautiful and challenging. The spa was as good as the best I've seen - or better. My massage was excellent. The downside was the upsellibg on checkin. The two tiered guest system preferred guest or VIP with their own special clubs etc. This made you feel a little second class. The resort dollars that you got on check in were very limited use and we ended up only using $40 of the $200 that we had . One complaint at the Oceana restaurant was that we could only sit at the open windo with the view if we bought a bootleg of wine. We don't drink wine and so missed this experience. Very exclusive and left us feeling less. Thisvresort is extremely luxurious and comfortable .

Dreams Puerto Morelos Resort and Spa: Awesome resort

The secrets silversands resort is by far one of the best luxery resorts I have been to. The rooms are very modern and clean and spacious. The staff go above and beyond to make your stay the best possible! The entertainment staff were amazing at keeping you going and having fun! I will definitely be returning!!!

Secrets The Vine Cancun: Great Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay at Secrets the Vine, everything from the amazing staff and the modern property. The resort is geared towards couples and filled will activities from day until night. The entertainment staff was very fun and did a great job at keeping everyone busy at the pool. The beach was beautiful but can be a little rough at times but the 3 pools are a great alternative. If you are looking for an upscale and relaxing hotel I totally recommend Secrets the Vine.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: Perfect Week at Secrets!

Just returned from a week at Secrets in Puerto Vallarta. The resort was amazing from the minute we arrived until we left. Rooms were spacious, and always well stocked and cleaned. We spent our days in the pool or playing VB at the beach or activity pool. The waiters we very efficient and never let you get thirsty. We saw some of the shows every night and were impressed with the quality. We tried all of the restaurants with the exception of the Mexican. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for an Adult only resort with a great mix of action and relaxation.

Secrets Vallarta Bay: AWESOME RESORT !!!!

WE HAVE BEEN TO SECRETS PV TWICE NOW AND LOVED IT JUST THE SAME AS OUR FIRST VISIT, BUT THEY HAVE CHNGED TWO THINGS WE ABSOLUTELY LOVED AND WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT BACK FOR TRIP 3........ -NO MORE COLD CANS OF BEER ON ICE IN A STEEL COOLER NEAR ACTIVITY POOL. -ALSO LAST TIME THEY SERVED FOOD ON A SURF BOARD IN POOL BAR WHICH WAS A NICE TOUCH.

Secrets Playa Mujeres: Awesome resort. Well laid out with pool, beach and restaurants

Resort only 4 years old. Location has the best beaches in Mexico. Ocean was always calm. Breakfast and lunch restaurants were located all near beach and pool area. 5 min walk or a 2min golf cart ride to the dinner restaurants and entertainment area which were at the main lobby area. This eliminated any noise from the entertainment areas for the rooms. All the food at the restaurants were top notch. No reservations required.

This resort has everything for everyone . It is clean upkept modern and stalked ... plenty of pools bars and restaurants filled with excellent attentive friendly staff. Took the bicycle trip to Puerto Morelos with Johnathon which was great but you didn't need to leave with plenty of activities and entertainment planned on the grounds. Looking into a return trip already

Amazing service, great food, perfect layout, loved the pools- will definitely go back. Top shelf drinks, never had to wait for a table. Plenty of restaurant choices, service by the pool and beach never kept us waiting.

Our stay at Secrets Silversands in the riviera maya was a very relaxing vacation. For us personally, the cons outweigh the pros. The resort itself was very nice, our room was very luxurious and the staff was always friendly and service was very good. Although, we were very disappointed when we arrived on the beach, we were not informed about the coral reef along our beach, not to mention the amount of seaweed washing up along the shore every morning. We were not able to enjoy the ocean since eve [... read more]ry step we took was on a rock. We were preferred club members at the resort and the one side of the beach was for preferred members only. As we made our way over, we stopped to look at each other and said "that's it"!!! This side of the beach was much to my disappointment. My fiance and I payed alot for this vacation and the ocean is the one thing we love about getting away. The food was just okay, again, for the price of this trip, it did not meet our expectations. By the end of the night we like to grab a few drinks and head to the disco, to our disappointment, this resort did not have one. They had a lounge area with a live band playing mellow music and at 11:30 pm they had a DJ who played at the sports bar but did not consider it the disco, nor did anyone show up EVER! We thought this resort is geared towards older adults, retired couples or anyone who is looking to relax all day and night. Overall it was a VERY relaxing vacation.
