Sunscape Curacao Resort: Fabulous laid back resort - not too big, not too s

Staff great. Every time I said thank you for something staff would say "it is my pleasure". Service excellent. Rooms clean and very nice. We had a partial ocean view and faced the lagoon at the side of the property. Nice and relaxing and the terrace was roomy. In our 5 storey building there were two elevators. We were on the 3 rd floor so we mostly walked up. Food was generally very good, except for the Oceana restaurant which was not good at all so we just went to another restaurant. You don't  [... read more]book for any of them, which I really liked, you just show up and if there is no room they just take your room number and tell you when to come back. Our favourite was the Italian restaurant. No wristbands at the resort which we liked. Excellent coffee shop which made great espresso and capuccino. Conveniently located across from a small bar so Baileys was on hand for the coffee. Beach was wonderful and the water was clear and turquoise. Snorkelling excellent. Lots of shade on the beach. Aqua aerobics on the beach every day if you are so inclined. Entertainment good. Bars all served great drinks - try the mojito if you go as well as the frozen piña coladas. We didn't swim in the pools though they looked very nice but, well, when you have a beach and salt water why bother. The resort is very laid back which we loved and check out on the final day was as simple as handing in the room key cards. I would definitely go again and the only thing I would change is that I would pack very little clothing - maybe a few bathing suits and a couple of casual dresses. The resort is close to Willemstad and you can pay 2$ american to take a mini bus any day into it. Costs 2$ to come back. The bus stop is right outside the resort. The Resort runs a free shuttle bus but you have to book the day before you want to go and the bus leaves at 9:30 a.m. Curacao really is paradise.

Hotel Los Cactus: Nice resort

My husband and I had a lovely stay at the Breezes , Varadero on April 11-18th,2015. The hotel was clean and staff accomodating. The food was simple , but delicious and they tried to vary the meats each night The last night there was .even barbecued lobster . The weather was beautiful each day and the beach was well kept . The water was clear , blue and warm. We have been to Cuba many times and this was the best week ever , since the wind was calmer than any other time we have been there, probabl [... read more]y due to the 35C plus temperatures, which even the Cuban people found hot. The only downfall was the airport. It took 2 hours waiting in line to get checked in and we had previously paid and booked for our seats, then another half hour to pay for the airport tax and then another hour to get through customs and security. The good thing is that we did not have long to wait for our flight. The bad thing was that we could not hear the announced boarding and they were in final boarding when we realized the plane was boarding. The Air Transat Plane was also very tight in seating . We will book Club Class next time.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: The perfect vacation

Sometimes when booking a vacation it's easy to be woe'd by the hyper perfection of marketing photos. Many times there has been a slight sense of disappointment upon reaching your destination and the slick images you saw on your computer screen don't actually live up to reality. This was not the case with the Sunscape resort in Curacao. Reality was even better than the promotional images. The beach with it's encompassing breakwater sheltering the shore from rolling waves was a perfect combination [... read more] of greens and blues, perfect for paddle boarding, kayaking and snorkelling. There was an abundance of interesting fish and sea life to observe in the crystal waters. The food was really appealing , Oceania was a favourite with it's fresh fish dishes and great beach location.Excellent entertainment in the evenings especially the solo performers with trumpet and saxophone. The staff was always friendly and eager to help out with connecting to internet and car rental. Over all it was one of the best trips I've ever taken and would gladly recommend Sunscape to anyone.

Memories Jibacoa: Wonderful Resort!

This area of Cuba is a great place for snorkeling and scuba diving - my partner and I snorkeled every day and the coral reefs were amazing! I am not a certified diver, but my partner is and he went on both a shallow dive and boat dive. The diving staff were great and the equipment is brand new. He had a fantastic time! We also loved all the staff at the resort - they are super friendly and wonderful to talk to. Food is pretty good for Cuban resort food. I definitely didn't go hungry! Hotel Los Cactus: Very nice ,quiet, friendly staff, clean

Grounds are very nice, lots of trees.Food was good.Room was clean and very big.Quiet at night.Good air condition in room.Beach is excellent and has lots of shaded huts.Staff very friendly and fun.Night entertainment was good.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Absolute Paradise!

I recently stayed at Sunscape Curacao and loved it! Check-in was effortless and within no time we were laying on the beach. Later on in the afternoon we took a chance and asked front desk for an up-graded room, they were more than helpful! For a small price we found ourselves in the Sunclub building with the most beautiful Oceanview room with a huge sliding door leading to the balcony. ( absolutely no bugs ) We were  [... read more]very pleased that there were no line ups to get drinks or at the buffet and the a la carte restaurants wait times were minimal. The buzzer they supplied allowed you to enjoy yourself elsewhere until your table was ready. Although we enjoyed all of our meals, our favourite was the ribs at the Grill. The grounds were well kept and there was plenty of chairs and shady spots available. The man made cove was what we enjoyed most of all. It was so nice to swim in the calm ocean every day. If your looking for some entertainment, the entertainment staff do a great job! There is plenty of daytime activities and the nightly entertainment is a lot of fun, especially the fire show. There is also spectacular dinner shows. (usually singers) If your looking for nightlife the island has it all! A 5minute walk down the street from Sunscape is Mambo Beach. Many small shops and restaurants and dance parties on the beach with DJs that party till morning. All in all our trip was absolutely fantastic. Friendly people, rich culture, great food and drinks, and stunning views. I'd highly recommend visiting Sunscape Curacao. Weather your younger or older this resort caters to all and the diverse mix of vacationers adds to your overall experience.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort for the price!!

My husband and I travelled with another couple March 28-April 4, 2015 and overall had a really good experience. As read on trip advisor, the hotel was a bit dated as far as paint and decor went, but this was by no means a deal breaker for us. The staff kept the grounds and rooms very clean. Our maid was very nice and left us little notes everyday telling us to enjoy our day and thanking us for the tips we left her (a few dollars really goes a long way here). We never seemed to have much trouble finding sun chairs as well, both at the beach and pool (the resort was completely booked the week we were there) The food on this resort was WAY better than the last experience we had in Cuba. We never had a bad meal and always seemed to find something we really enjoyed. The buffet is good and they have theme nights which changes the selection up, but the a la carte restaurants were really well done! I would recommend trying all 3. Lastly, and definitely not least.... the staff on this resort were amazing! Everybody was very friendly and attentive. We had the pleasuring of getting to know a few of the bar tenders well enough and always enjoyed seeing their smiling faces (Sergio, Maria & Frank to name a few). This resort exceeded our expectations as our previous visit to Cuba was quite a poor experience! We would definitely return to Varadero and would stay at the Breezes Bella Costa again!

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: #1 Resort and vacation EVER!!

Where do I start.....well with the booking...Natalie from trip Central made it quick, easy, and if I had ANY questions at all she answered immediately! Thanks again for letting it be stress free!! As for the Resort...Jewel Runaway Bay...WOW!!! # 1 BY FAR!!..The staff for check in were informative, quick and very polite. The buildings were very clean and staff ALWAYS with a smile and friendly greeting. The entertainment was great and fun and so enjoyable. The food..OH THE FOOD.....you would have  [... read more]to eat every half hour on the hour just to try all the GREAT food...not enough hours in the day or room in your belly to taste every thing!! We were totally blown away that you could get sit down full service for breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wished and not even go to the buffet......it was all amazing and fun! We have been travelling down south for 8 years now sometimes twice a year to 4 & 5 star resorts in Dominican, Cuba , Bermuda & Jamaica...this was by far #1 in our books. Can't say enough great things about the people. and staff here. WE WILL BE BACK!!!

Rooms on the Beach Negril: We Love Negril

Love Rooms! This is our 3rd time back. We hope to visit again soon! Small & quaint. Rooms are good size & very clean. Staff are great & very friendly. Housekeeping staff are fabulous! They now have a bar on the beach with very nice music! Continental breakfast is more than enough to eat. They now have serve yourself coffee & cereal, which is great to be able to get when you want. Coffee is so good! Nice walk into town. The 7 mile beach is the absolute best!!!

Hotel Bella Costa: Beautiful beach

The beach is the best feature of this resort! The food was the least memorable but I did enjoy the pizzas as well as the Italian a la carte restaurant. Room were dated but clean. They do need to get some new pillows...they were flat as a pancake! Micheal Jackson and magic show was the best. Overall....pretty good value. I'd definately return again if they could just kick up the food a notch!

Hotel Los Cactus: "Good value for money"

When booking the trip with a tripcentral agent, the direct quote from the agent was - "good value for money". I didn't really know what to think of that at the time, but looking back on the trip I would say it sums it up very well. The resort staff were great, the beach was amazing, but the hotel itself was dated and could use some upgrades. Our tour operator on site at the resort made us feel better after our first night there (we showed up in the middle of the night where the darkness made the [... read more] resort seem even more dated) by saying that you shouldn't compare your stay in Cuba to anything else you have ever done. All in all, it was a great trip. Food was good, drinks were good, beach was amazing. Many people at the resort had been going for years and years and kept going back (one lady it was her 24th year!). I don't think I will be one of those people but it was still a great vacation, especially for the price we paid.

Hotel Bella Costa: Were pleasantly surprised!

We spent 7 nights at Breezes Bella Costa and really enjoyed the whole time. We had no bad experiences whatsoever. The hotel lobby, bar and room was very spacious and clean. Our balcony was HUGE! and we had a lovely view of the pools, gardens and ocean in the back ground! The courtyard entertainment stopped at 10 each night, so noise at night time was never an issue. The grounds and beach were kept very clean and tidy, despite how many of those tiny plastic cups served at the pool bar must blow in the wind! The food was good - best when they just did Cuban instead of mimicking Italian etc. The fish was great. Love the cappuccinos! Handy proximity to the town of Varadero. Could take the double-decker bus in 10-15 minutes. We also enjoyed walking along the beach to arrive in Varadero in just over an hour - a great way to help ward off those holiday calories. The ocean and beach were fabulous. Always a nice breeze - no bugs! We did two excursions - one was the Jeep Safari into the country side and the other was the Havana Special with a Tropicana show. Both were excellent! Really enjoyed learning more about Cuba. Would go back again for sure and would certainly recommend Breezes Bella Costa to anybody - young or old!

Memories Jibacoa: Relaxing, Peaceful Resort.

Beautiful quiet resort set on a coral reef. Small and peaceful, everything you would expect from a beach resort vacation. Dive shop right on site. The beach is actually set on a coral reef and is amazing for snorkeling. Just changed owners so a few hiccups in the buffet , like things werent getting replenished when empty but all quality food and safe water. The staff is what truly makes this place. Memories Jibacoa: Great Resort, Amazing Staff

If you enjoy a smaller resort with a warm vibe in a rural setting its hard to beat this one. The staff are awesome and really make this resort standout. The resort itself is very good with lots of great amenities, a hard working entertainment staff, and a beach with loads of marine life feet from the waters edge. The beach has a fair bit of coral in the sand which makes it a little rough underfoot, but the reef right offshore and all the fish that call it home made that a worthwhile trade off. This was my 9th carribean vacation and by far the best value of all of them.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great value

First time in Varadero. Beautiful beach and ocean. Resort was clean but tired looking. Staff didn't seem as outgoing as other Cuban resorts that I have visited. Food ... Could have had more variety but expected that in Cuba. Overal a good experience.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Not 4 star resort

Old resort, in need of renovations. Room clean, staff great. Great snorkeling right of the beach. Buffet very poor, restaurants pretty good. Don't pay extra for the sun club, not worth the extra money.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Amazing first time in Curacao!

Traveled here from Apr 5-12 with my bf. We are in our early 30s and had an amazing time! We first were placed in an older, ground floor room. on our 3rd day we asked to move and we're moved to the Royal Tower. This made our trip an entirely different experience - so definitely upgrade!The view was amazing! We found the people extremely friendly and helpful and the food was great. We had no issues getting into the restaurants (no reservations required) although we tend to eat a little later. Ther [... read more]e is no night life but the Mambo Beach next door has lots and was so much fun! All in all a great, relaxing trip. No overcrowding at beach or restaurants and people were always more than willing to help us with anything we requested. Highly recommend it!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Hotel and grounds very nice

Hotel very nice and grounds are well maintained. The view from al la cartes is beautiful. Sunscape dollars is a lot of fun and need to put more prizes to offer. Nice to be able to walk to sea aquarium . Great snorkeling.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Great vacation

Resort was great, people were very kind, felt very safe, we were at the older end which was really nice and the beach was great, a lot of chairs. We liked the great dinners outside and the men could wear dress shorts with shirts...no long pants! Would return for another vacation.

Hotel Los Cactus: Amazing Beach

In our opinion the beach and ocean are fantastic. The resort is showing its age. Lots of families with small children. Our bed was the worst bed we have ever tried to sleep on. Not 1 good nights sleep. Buffet food is fine.
