Playa Pesquero: Great Vacation

The property is on a beautiful beach, has a large maintained pool with areas for a quieter poolside or closer to activities and bar. Gym, sports area, spa, clinic, stores, hair/nail salon, cigar bar & bank onsite (I’m forgetting all the amenities). The staff are phenomenal and there’s always some sort of programming going on. Buffet has lots of ingredients that vary based on season and availability but not a lot of packaged food/seasonings so if you are particu [... read more]lar bring a bottle of sauce, or syrup for pancakes if you have kids, and leave it with the staff when you checkout. There is a 24 hour snack bar as well as restaurants, many open for lunch but require dinner reservations. Bring some small bills and loonie/toonies if you want to tip, staff will be looking to trade in their coins for larger crisp bills for use at their bank. Overall we had a great vacation, I would definitely return.

Playa Pesquero: Great Resort

I only have issues with the food and the fact that there was no SPRITE OR 7UP or anything similar to replace it. You replaced Coke with a cola, do the same with Sprite. Everything else was great. The beach was fantastic as was the pool.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great hotel & vacation resort

Paradisus Rio D'Oro in Holguin is a great hotel. Grounds are clean, tropical and safe, with a lovely beach. The staff are excellent, service always good. No bugs, beggars or hawkers. This area is very safe. The pools are lovely, clean and relaxing. We stayed in Royal Service and the upgrade was nice- private pool, beach, restaurants. Butler service and special perks were nice- but it is an expensive upgrade. Food was always available but shortages do occur ( we were never hungry!). Bacon & egg [... read more]s for breakfast, burgers & pizza for lunch, buffet always had grilled fish and a pasta bar. Bars were well stocked and service was always prompt. Note- We are not "foodies" but several guests were disappointed in the lack of variety of food available- the shortages are a concern in Cuba.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: No Food

The resort was beautiful including the pools and beach however......there is no food at this resort. No eggs, no fresh fruit (canned fruit only), no fresh vegetables, no salad, no pop, no hamburgers, no french fries, no Gin and no ground beef for any other "hot dish". My husband and I definitely lost weight staying at this resort. Also there were days there were no buns for the hot dogs if you dared to even try the hot dogs. The pasta station has very limited offerings (mainly cut-up bacon, weiners or ham) and the cook uses the same pan to cook in throughout the evening. Sunwing offers "nothing" on the plane - not even a pretzel or a cookie. Our return flight was sold out of almost the entire OnBoard Menu and so after exiting our resort at 7:15 a:m (no resort restaurants open so people could eat before leaving), then a 2 hour bus ride to the airport, getting through airport and security, flight time and landing in Toronto only to find a 2 hour process with deboarding, transfers, customs and luggage wait, it was 5:00 p:m by the time we were on the road and could actually take the time to stop and eat. Holguin airport offers limited food as well.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Love this resort!

The views of the ocean are amazing! It is so close to the main hotel. The staff are so welcoming, and will do their best to make your vacation wonderful. Ocean view rooms in the main building are smaller than Villa rooms, but the views of the ocean and harbour from your patio make up for it.

Brisas Guardalavaca: Worst stay in 22 years!

There major food and water shortages at this resort. I became sick 18 hours after arriving at the resort. 50 percent of guest were Rude, Unkind, Disrespected Cuban. A lot of the Canadians there were Cougars or Panthers looking for young Cuban Companions. I came home a week early do to food poisoning. It will Bea long time before I go back to Cuba.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Beautiful Resort

I went to the coral in October. It was a very beautiful resort. This was my first time traveling alone but after I left I knew I would go back. I can't say enough about the staff. They were so friendly and always remembered your name. It's a small resort but if you wanted more you could go to the sister resort next door which is a short walk. I recommend this resort for sure.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Very nice

This was our first time to this resort, we typically go to another resort near by. We met Amelia and she went above and beyond to give us an exceptional experience. Rooms and food very good, the chef in the buffet at the meat/fish station was very good - LOVED the hamburgers he made. The downfall to the resort would be the beach - it is a little small and has limited area that people enter the water at. Brisas Guardalavaca: Very Good Resort

We been in this Hotel around 16 Times .This Year was Better than Last Year, I mean the Food was Better The service was always the same, we know all the People working at this hotel for Long, Thanks to the management. Archie & Emily

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Best Resort

Can't complain about anything. Everything was perfect 🥰. My room had a really bad smell however they switched my room as soon as a room was available. Food was excellent and the service was excellent.

Aston Costa Verde Beach Resort: Lovely resort

The staff was super friendly and helpful. The beach was 10/10. Would definitely recommend to anyone. Also, if you're a diver, there's a dive shop just a couple minute walk from the beach, with great dive spots in the area.

I've been to this resort throughout all its name changes. It has only gotten better. I understand the that cuba has taken a little longer to recover from covid, so I just go with the flow. Everything was fantastic from the old staff that remember me, to the new staff who did there very best.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Great Resort

Overall, good resort however, it needs a lot of updates, chairs, cushions need to be cleaned and updated, rooms need to be cleaned properly, dust on the furniture. Rooms smells old and damp, moldy. Grounds, spa, beaches were wonderful and had the best massage with Chachi. For a tropical place, was so surprised there were no fresh fruits, only papayas and star fruits. Lots to eat, but I do not eat pork or beef but loved that the had lots of seafood. The staff were all were helpful and professional. I went back after 14 years, still an amazing resort on all level of service. The resort needs a overhaul as it was closed for so long and some upgrades Will go again no questions asked ❤️ Nothing much I went with 7 friends and we all had an amazing time it was first time for 2 of them and they enjoyed a lot

Brisas Guardalavaca: Nice place

Needs some upgrade for sure toilet seats and toilet paper and fresh water in the room every day should be a must but the place was clean and the staff are amazing and very appreciative and helpful. Mix for drinks was limited and well the food could be improved for sure all and all I would go back for sure

THE STAFF AT THIS RESORT ABSOLUTELY MAKE IT WHAT IT IS WE WENT AS A GROUP AND ENDED UP HAVING ISSUES FROM CHECK IN UPGRADES WERE OVERLOOKED AS WELL AS HANDICAP ACCOMODATIONS THE FOOD WAS CUBA FOOD .VERY SCARCE AND LIMITED THEY HAD COLA FOR FIRST 3 DAYS THEN NOTHING BUT FANTA ON A GOOD NOTE THE ENTERTAINERS AND STAFF WERE ABSOLUTELY AMAZING AND MADE THE TRIP WELL WORTH IT

Brisas Guardalavaca: Home away from home

Love this resort! We are rerun guests. The staff are top notch, grounds are immaculate as is the resort. Decor is tired but very clean with some updates and beach is incredible. Plenty of activities to keep you busy if desired. Would definitely return again.

Iberostar Selection Holguin: Not a 5 star resort

Thumbs up for the cleaning lady. Nice grounds. Couldn't use the beach as we wanted due to massive attacks from mosquitos. Bad drinking water (taste like mold). Entertainment not that great. Not much variety on food, tasteless watermelon, no natural eggs (only powder) no tomatoes. Bad internet.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Holguin: Désappointement

J’ai passé une semaine de 11 à 18 novembre. Tout ce que je peux dire - c’est le pires vacances que j’ai passé. J’étais prête de manque de nourriture mais je ne peux pas comprendre manque du savon. Le chambres sont sales, car sont lavés seulement avec de l’eau. Tote fois je dois reconnaître la gentillesse du personnel. Mon gros MERCI à M.Dantes, receptionist , qui a essayé de m’accommoder, de trouver une solution. Pour l’instant fini avec Cuba pour moi.
