Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Clean, well-landscaped resort

Staff were very friendly and helpful, food was good, and the rooms and grounds were very well-kept. We were disappointed that there were no places to just be quiet and peaceful. Even down on the beach or at the jacuzzi area, the noise from the main pool was loud. We booked the Don Pablo section because previous reviewers had said it was quiet, and because we wanted the butler service. We only saw our butler once, and our request for ice in our room at 4 p.m. was only met twice in the week we wer [... read more]e there.

Viva Wyndham Dominicus Beach: Great resort!

The Viva Dominicus beach was overbooked for a bungalow so they offered us to stay at the sister resort Viva Dominicus Palace in a superior room. Although disappointed at first we were happy the grounds, lobby and rooms were always very clean. We preferred the pools as the beach was a little too rocky for our tender feet. Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Can't wait to go back!

This hotel is everything you could want in a resort! Beautiful grounds, outstanding service, gorgeous rooms! The breakfast buffet has an incrediable selection. The item I could find fault with was the availablity of the a la carte's. I booked all of mine using the app within an hour of arrriving at the resort but the Italian had no availability all week.

Dreams La Romana: Very good, but room for Improvement.

Dreams La Romana a lovely resort with plantation-style character, beautiful pools and a gorgeous beach with calm water that was wonderful for swimming, lounging and relaxing. Out from shore there was sufficient winds for good catamaran sailing. Our accommodations were comfortable, although we could hear the next room through the unused shared doors. The staff were friendly and helpful. However, certain staff were always in sales-mode trying to get you to buy services or future vacations at Amre [... read more]sorts properties. They were so persistent that after a while you just had to ignore them when they called to get your attention. We really liked not having to reserve for dinner. All resorts should do this. Food was typical all-inclusive with some great dishes, mostly average and some mediocre. The breakfast and lunch buffets were consistently good. Deserts were not so good – lots of spongy, gooey, sugary manufactured stuff. The puddings and ice cream were better. The house white and red wines were poor, the rosé better. They did have a decent wine list of Spanish and Italian wines for additional cost. They also have an excellent coffee shop. Overall a very good experience but definite room for improvement.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Best Time!

My boyfriend and I went to this resort over March break (March 14-21). The food was really good, although was not as hot as it could have been. We had no trouble finding something different to eat every day and ate at 4 of the 5 a la cartes. The buffet dinner on Friday was amazing. We ate until we were stuffed. The beach was nice and the staff work very hard to maintain the grounds/beach. The resort is located on a cove so you can only walk so far but that wasn't an issue with us. We rented non [... read more] motorized equipment from the activities centre more than once. We didn't go swimming in the ocean (we preferred the pool) but saw many people swimming. Our room was huge, the bed was comfortable and they switched our pillows to our liking. On the last night, the room was decorated for a birthday celebration by our butler Freddy. All the staff are very friendly and hard working around the clock. I especially loved the happy faces of the girls opening the doors/seating us in the morning at the breakfast buffet. We would definitely recommend this resort to our family and friends!

Everything about this resort is what you would expect from a Don Paublo. Wifi on the beach was a bonus, The staff was very helpful at all times. The alcohol was top of the line and caesars with Clamato for the Canadians. Quiet resort and for the night life it is a hort walk across to the other resort.....Great resort

the landscaping is beautiful, the service was excellent whenever we sat at the bar area we were served drinks in very little time The beach was nice as we always had chairs available and didn't need to save a spot and also we has shade and sun as the beautiful palm trees and cabana's we plentiful. Our butler Miguel was very good. He would make sure everything was ok and was very helpful.

Gardens were beautiful,rooms comfortable, pool warm and good shade next to the beach. Swim up bar was great, animation team was very energetic, musical entertainment at night was superb. Buffet food was good as were the speciality restaurants.

Perfect resort if you are looking for a smaller boutique experience within a big scale resort. All amenities are close for easy walking. Lobby has relaxed entertainment every night for dancing and conversation. Shows are a walk or golf cart ride away. Always lots of choice for beach chairs. Beach is well groomed and calm waters. Great for walking! If you are pool people prepare to play the towel game to get shade. Buffet food is varied with a different themes, plus option of reserving at 2 onsit [... read more]e restaurants or adventure to the main resort selection. Mediterranean was our favourite with fabulous surf and turf.

The grounds were immaculate and everything is so beautiful and clean. The staff is also so very friendly. Everything is so close the beach the pool the restaurants and rooms. There was always good entertainment.

The hotel was spotless and the people were amazing. They couldn't do enough for you. The food was excellent as were the drinks. The restaurants were all good as well. If you are looking for a quiet relaxing vacation, I would highly recommend choosing this location. There was plenty of entertainment a short walk away. The beach and the grounds were impeccable. Will definitely go back and will also try other Don Pablo resorts. Top notch! L & J

Dreams La Romana: Amazing Place

Loved the resort. Beatiful grounds, nice rooms and facilities. Excellent personnel. A lots of different options for activities. Excellent restaurants and bars. Free Wi-Fi everywhere at the resort. Good entertainment!

The Luxury Bahia Bouganville is a Beautiful resort! It was my husbands first trip and he can't wait to return to this resort. I have no complaints, the hotel was gorgeous, the staff were spectacular and the food was great! Wish I could return tomorrow.

The Republican peoples are very polite and they are easy to acces the food are good the beach is pretty good the room are perfect and very clean the people care about you an the view from the room it is very nice.I will go back no problemo !!!

Real value for your dollar! Clean,friendly,excellent food.Great location for a totally relaxed rest. Don't bother with the restaurants at the other resort. You have the best at the Luxury resort. I'm looking forward to visiting other Luxury Bahia resorts.

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: Just about perfect!

We were looking for a low-key, yet a higher-end resort, and that is exactly what we had! We felt that the Bouganville was 5 star all the way, with exception of the beach area which we were well informed about before making our decision for this resort. The beach, although spotless had lots of palapas and shade areas to choose from, but it wasn't very long to accommodate long walks. The water was murky/silty but still OK to swim in if one desired - and many were swimming while we were there. We  [... read more]were very happy to spend the majority of our week at poolside with a nice view of the beach. The entire resort was spotless. The staff, from gardeners to maids to bar and restaurant wait staff, work so hard to make sure everyone is enjoying their stay. Everyone who worked there seemed more than happy to provide anything one would want - except a late check-out unfortunately, and that seemed due to the fact that they had more people checking-in than those checking-out that day. However, since the entire week was a wonderful experience, having to check out at noon and then having to use the overcrowded Comp. shower area is really not worthy of a complaint but rather just a comment. They had 2 showers available however several people wanted to have a shower to clean up before their trip home, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. The Management did eventually open up a couple of other rooms to help with the overflow, but by that time we had already used the comp showers. The food was wonderful and offered a good variety at the buffets as well as the a la carte restaurants. The service in the restaurants was fantastic and every meal experience may us feel extra special. The Mediterranean/Seafood restaurant and Le Gourmet (French) were my favourite. The Italian was my least favourite as I didn't really enjoy my main course (the Lazagna). The portion sizes served at the Brazilian BBQ were just simply too large and therefore it was difficult to enjoy and taste all that there was to offer there but the Fillet Mignon was superb! The chefs often made appearances to ensure everything was plated nicely at the buffets. The rooms and cleaning service were exceptional except we did have a few mosquitoes each evening in our room that we had to deal with before going to bed. We had maid service twice each day. We were on a ground floor and since we checked in so late, I didn't bother asking for an upper floor even though we had requested it when booking. Other's that I spoke with did get moved to upper floors upon request though. I just chose not to move once I got settled, since we had a nice quiet garden view away from the pool area. (building 54)

Sunscape Dominicus La Romana: Good Value for the Money

This hotel has lovely grounds with mature vegetation. There aren't very many rooms with a great view, but the rooms are spacious and clean. Food is quite good in the buffet & al a cartes. The pool is fantastic - and the beach is very nice. Lot's of sun or shade options. Always chairs available at the pool and beach no matter what time you arrive. The free wifi in the lobby never works. If you want to book an excursion - find Victor - he's the guy you need to see!

Service was the best I have ever encountered. Grounds were beautiful and clean. All Staff were very friendly .The food was excellent. LOng bus ride to and from the Punticana Airport. Shopping was a bit pricy in the complex,

Bahia Principe Escape Bouganville: The most relaxing vacation I have ever had!

Stayed for 1 week Feb 3-10th 2016. The resort and service were amazing! The rooms, food/buffet, premium drinks, beach and pool area were wonderful. Very quiet resort with the option to go next door to the regular Bahia for a rowdier time. There is construction and buildig of new condos next door, so if your balcony faces that side, you will hear the trucks and hammering. However, you can see the beach. The only other small negative feedback is that the beef is always bad in the DR so don't hope  [... read more]for a great steak dinner and the entertainment shows that you have access to at the resort next door are the worst I have seen anywhere. The circus night was good but you can tell that there is not much of a budget for the entertainment crew. This is a small detail lacking in the overall wonderful experience we had. This Luxury resort is definatly suited for those looking for a quiet and intimate vacation. We have a goal now of visiting the other Luxury Bahia's in Jamaica and Mexico due to the great experience we had in La Romana.
