Dreams Huatulco: Beautiful upper class resort

Beautiful, very clean, upper class resort. Food was top notch with plenty of variety. Staff was very friendly and went above and beyond to make our stay perfect. The only complaint is guests who would save chairs by the pool or beach and then NEVER use them.

Camino Real Zaashila: Best New Discovery ..A Hidden Gem

The resort/hotel is built into the hillside with every room having a ocean view. For us it was all inclusive but you could also book for one night or whatever your needs may be. It was quiet, no worries about trying to find a lounge chair on the beach or at the pool. The staff were sincere, caring and eager to make your stay a great one. Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful Resort

Just spent 7 nights at Secrets Huatulco. This was our second time to this resort and it was once again a fabulous holiday. Love the staff at this hotel. Always smiling and friendly. Rooms are very clean as well as the rest of the facility. Although I didn't use the Spa or Gym, I have heard that the Spa is fantastic. The gym is quite small and equipment quite basic but still seemed to be very busy. We did notice that the lounge chairs could be cleaned up as they are looking quite old but love the [... read more] cabanas on the beach. Food was great. No issues. Lots of fresh fresh, salads and veggies. Also pizza was very good and loved the nachos on the beach. Already planning our third visit.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful Resort

This is a beautiful resort with excellent staff and amenities in a fabulous location. We stayed there in February 2014 and again in January 2016. Staff, food and amenities are excellent. Being located only half an hour from the Huatulco airport is also a definite plus. Our only issue is that there are already small signs of physical neglect, e.g. some broken beach loungers, a hole in the wall in our room, a mirror missing from a pool bathroom, etc. and this is worrisome for an AAA Four Diamond r [... read more]esort that is only 5 years old.

Barcelo Huatulco: Nice trip

Older, smaller hotel that makes a big effort too make it's guest feel welcome. Weather was nice and hot. 2 good days on the beach. Drop off is very steep into the ocean. Would stay in the pools if you aren't a strong swimmer.

Las Brisas Huatulco: good resort

Beaches were very good. Buffet and food at the ala carts just average. Air conditioning in the room not up to par. Power in the room we kept going out. Maintenance could not fix either the air conditioning nor the power problem.

Secrets Huatulco: Truly an amazing place!

Rooms were excellent, beds really comfy, views nothing short of amazing! Nice toiletries provided, including suntan lotion spf15! No need to haul shampoo, conditioner body wash etc. Food and drinks, were top notch and plentiful! Excellent choices available! Pools were huge and great temperature, beach was nice and the sand was soft but deep in areas...kinda large soft pebbles. Barcelo Huatulco: Mexico's Hidden Jewel

Hotel Just a nice size, not too big. Noticed Barcelo a great Family Resort Rooms All updated and very clean. Modern bathrooms, toiletries & hairdryers available along with ironing boards and irons. Pool bar, adult pool and children's pool. Kept ver clean. Beach, steps away from hotel on site. Long beautiful beach. Just watch for under tow. You can't beat this place for the money! Las Brisas Huatulco: Very Large Resort On A Hill.

Las Brisas Huatulco is a large vibrant resort. The grounds are just beautiful with Mexican cactus of all different kinds. This resort is so large and steep that you must take a trolley car to your room or anywhere. You phone for a trolley to pick you up for anywhere you want to go. Trolleys are very plentiful. You must make sure you have a beach bag to put everything in that you will need for the day. The trolley drivers where amazing as they maneuvered all around the little roads throughout the resort. All the restaurants are very clean and well organized. Every staff we had contact with were very friendly and accommodating. We ate at 4 of the 5 specialty dinner restaurants. They were good but could use a little spices and be more generous with the wine. My favorite meals were breakfast at the Mexican Restaurant. This restaurant is right by the beach and the food was great. All the beaches are really awesome. The water is warm and the waves were fun. We had beach bartenders that kept us happy all day. Shout out to Martin our favorite beach bartender. He worked so hard and fast for everyone-really nice guy. All the bartenders were great. We snorkelled and swam everyday. Our room was really nice and comfortable. We had a little porch to sit on sometimes but did not spend a lot of time in our room. We went into the town that is about a 10 minute drive away. Very nice if you want to buy souvenirs The entertainment was Mexican music with a few singers. People had a lot of fun dancing in the open square next to the large bar and pools The weather was beautiful everyday. We were told it rains only 5 times per year. It rained just a little bit on our last night. I couldn't believe it. It did not stop any of the evening fun. We had a nice time on this vacation and would recommend it to anyone who does not have any mobility problems. There are a lot of stairs everywhere.

Barcelo Huatulco: Very clean and comfortable

Very clean. Staff was amazing, Friendly, looked after your every need. Nice beach, the water was a little rough. They say this is the safest area in Mexico and I believe that. Food was better than some places I've been to.

Dreams Huatulco: Expected more

Arrived at hotel with no problem,had to change room because we had booked a king bed. Staff made the effort. We had booked an ocean view and was disappointed that we paid more, partial views were as good at lower cost. Ended up being transferred to Secrets Huatulco,it is the same chain,we were happier there. Have been to quite a few all inclusives and this was not the top of the list.Staff overall friendly but lacked just a little bit of enthusiasm. I guess I am getting grumpy in my old age but  [... read more]will not go back to resorts where children are allowed. Sometimes the adults are not any better. I am sure I am not the only one who would like to have the hotels enforce a rule for reserving chairs and controlling unwanted noise coming from guests whose idea of a good time is standing around the bar drinking all day and being loud.We are already booking for September to the resort we feel is the best, but we will not divulge the location, we only recommend it to respectful quiet people.After reading the reviews before booking I think the opinion of many was overrated.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Above expectation

I wish I could get 10 night stay instead of 7. Almost a whole day flight to and back to Edmonton took away 26 hours Beach, food, service were amassing. The room was very spacious and clean. Most rooms do not have balcony. It is bearable. There are much pleasant things to do outside of the room. Lots of hills and stairs, which is a natural way to exercise a bit after eating. Of course having friends with me made this trip perfect. I had to open windows and as I was alone in the room and at night and on the first floor I was uncomfortable, I could change to another room easily, I just did not want to waste time on moving. Barcelo Huatulco: best ever

The while place was perfect .. be to a ton of places loved it. Will go back again and again. Family had a ball. Kids live the pool food and every bit . Wife and me couldn.t have been happier . And the area eas all you could ask for . Wow wow wow

Las Brisas Huatulco: Great week in the sun

We spent the first week of Jan 2016 at Las Brisas in Huatulco. Everything was great. The hotel is not brand new but is very well maintained. The resort offered a good variety of food. The quality was really good and we found that the buffet was always a good choice with enough variety to make it interesting and convenient. Not all the a la carte restaurants were as good but the Mediterranean and the Mexican are excellent choices. The sport equipment (kayaks, catamarans and SUPs were in great sha [... read more]pe and were easily available. The 3 beaches and the pools were great. The only draw back is that the resort is built on many levels and requires lots of walking of stairs. It was an excellent vacation and we will be back.

Secrets Huatulco: Awesome resort!!

This was our 3rd time at this resort. The staff are great and so willing to help. The room was great and would highly recommend building one. The pool on this side of the resort is quieter than the other side although both pools are fantastic.

Dreams Huatulco: Amazing view and amazing place to stay

Beautiful view of pools and ocean. Very clean beach , pool , resort. Good selection of beer and alcoholic drinks, bartenders were very good , staff for throughout the resort were awesome. We will be returning

Secrets Huatulco: Good Resort - Great Ocean Views

This was our second trip to Secrets Huatulco (January 2016). The first was April 2013. The view is amazing and the weather is almost guaranteed hot and dry. Our room requests were met and we were very happy with the view. However, the buildings are starting to show their age and the people did not seem as friendly as our first trip. Unfortunately, we decided to attend the Unlimited Vacation Club presentation which was to last 90 minutes and ended up being three hours. It was very high pressure and stressful. The representative did a good job presenting his case, but we finally decided not to purchase. All in all it was a good vacation, but I think it is time to try a different location. Maybe, you just can't go back and have the same experience as your first visit.

Dreams Huatulco: Excellent family vacation

Beautiful hotel and grounds, everything in good repair, very clean, and well landscaped. The resort is small and well laid out so that everything is easily accessible. Rooms were very nice & spacious, beds were nothing special but not uncomfortable. There are beautiful ocean views from most rooms. Daily cleaning and turn down services are very good - we found the hotel to exceptionally clean - I should especially note the poolside bathrooms, the staff who cleaned these did an amazing job of keep [... read more]ing them clean and dry! Restaurants (both buffets and a la cartes) were very clean and we didn't have any trouble getting a table for any meal at any of the a la cartes. Service was a little slow at the a la cartes and wait staff seemed stretched a little thin during dinner service, breakfast and lunch were generally much more leisurely and we felt very well looked after - wait staff were always exceptional during these meals. The food in the breakfast and lunch buffets (both the world cafe and the seaside grill) is exceptional if you enjoy Mexican food - if you prefer to stick to american favourites I can't comment on that food, we enjoyed the Mexican food so much! We found the food in the a la carte's to be average - not as good as you might expect if you have stayed in other Dreams properties, but not bad. Truthfully, we found the food at the buffet to be better quality and flavour than any of our a la carte experiences. We enjoyed the coco coffee bar very much as well for a daily latte but these are also available on request at the buffets. If you need to use room service the food was good and service was very quick. We travelled with children and didn't attend any of the evening entertainment but we cannot express enough how wonderful the explorers club is! Our daughter loved every minute she spent there - the staff were very warm and friendly and they kept the kids engaged with a variety of activities every day. Our daughter said it felt like going to summer camp in Mexico! The pools are fantastic - more than enough pool side chairs to go around. The infinity pools along the beach were our favourite but the pool near the Seaside Grill/Oceano was perfect for the afternoon if you wanted a reprieve from the heat. The towels are easily accessible and plentiful. The poolside bars are great - the servers are friendly and drinks are cold. The beach is beautiful, pristine golden sand and crystal clear water. The slope of the beach is more gentle than other places on the same bay but getting in and out of the water could be a challenge depending on the waves! Some days the water was very calm and others it was quite wavy but there is a rapid drop in depth along with shore break that make this beach unsuitable for young children to wade without an adult holding them. There is some good snorkeling along the rock formations between Dreams and the next resort. Overall we enjoyed our experience very very much and we cannot say thank you enough to every staff person at Dreams Huatulco who made our trip so amazing!

Las Brisas Huatulco: Beautiful and Quiet

From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, we had a fabulous holiday! The room was large, two queen beds with a desk and chair and a table with 2 chairs. The bathroom was recently renovated with a glass and marble walk-in shower. We were to get a room with a king size bed but none were available. They offered to move us once one came available, but when we saw the beautiful view from our room we decided not to move. The a la cartes were also delicious, our favourites were the Mexicano and the Mediterranean. Three large beaches with lots of chairs and palapos available, along with three pools, provided on-demand seating. This huge resort provided lots of space for guests ~ you never had to fight for a spot or seat at anything. You can go down to the beach at any time of the day and get a chair. The weather is amazing ~ we went January 8-15 and it was hot, hot, hot everyday! The Transat team, the Excursion staff, the resort service and the staff attended to every detail and request we had. Honestly, the only thing that wasn't fantastic was the wifi lol...

Dreams Huatulco: Terrific and Relaxing

As a first timer to this resort my wife, son and i were very happy with all of our accommodations. Our balcony had an ocean view and we spent a few nights sipping cervezas and listening to the ocean from it. The Mexican fiesta night was truly great as was the Mexican a la carte restaurant. The other a la cartes were fine but not nearly as memorable. The buffet and seaside eatery were always well stocked and rotated great stuff. We ate tacos every day! The staff was great and never had any issues [... read more] when we approached anyone for any reason. Isreal, a waiter, was a blast around the pool.
