Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort!!

This was our fourth trip to the Melia Cayo Coco and we have never been disappointed. The resort is always clean and in good repair. The staff are great, always smiling and happy to see you. The food is plentiful at the buffet and the meals at the al a carts were awesome!! The beach is beyond amazing!!

Paradisus Rio De Oro: Recent Vacation

We were at this property a week after hurricane Melissa. The resort is charming but is in need of certain renovations (nothing to do with the hurricane). Rooms are dated but clean, AC works, hot water readily available and bed was comfortable. The drawers on some of the dressers do not work and the safe is old and can be temperamental. Food was decent, plenty of it but fresh fresh fruit and vegetables were limited. Snack bar had the best coffee. Service was hit or miss, but it was only a w [... read more]eek after the hurricane, so there could have been staffing shortages. Beach is rocky as you first approach, but the further you walk the softer it becomes. We brought water shoes and did not use them. Beach washrooms have no door handles on the inside, making it a challenge to exit. Pools are cleaned every morning and are pristine, however, there is a serious lack of loungers poolside. The loungers are old and some are broken and should be replaced (could have been caused by the hurricane). Pathway lighting could be improved, many do not work making it difficult to navigate at night. Despite the no-smoking signs, people smoke everywhere. In the lobby, at the beach, around the pool and in the pool. Overall it was a pleasant vacation despite a few hiccups, we would probably return.

Paradisus Rio De Oro: I had a very enjoyable stay.

Staff was very pleasant and accommodating. Any problems were resolved quickly. There was a lack of fresh fruits and vegetables, but I've been to Cuba enough times to know that is to be expected, so it didn't affect my holiday.

Grand Aston Varadero Beach Resort: Amazing resort

It was beautiful and updated. Servicecwas great. Food was great. The pool and the beach were great. We would definitely go again. We would recommend this resort to anyone. I heard while we were there you should upgrade to vip.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Fun and relaxing at resort

This Resort is dated but very clean . The staff are very friendly, There is lots of food available at the buffet . If you're looking for a buffet that serves steaks, salmon , large servings of seafood, this is not your resort. This is a resort that allows you to relax at the ocean front or at the 2 large pools . There are lots of beverages at the bar, mixed drinks and lots of cold beer. Just make sure you bring mosquito repellent!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Our stay at Iberostar originn

The hotel was very nice but it does need some talc. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our rooms were cleaned every day. The food was not very warm and not too good. But I realize Cuba has a problem with getting food and drinks. They only had Fanta and coke for non alcoholic drinks. If I was to go there again I would know now what to take for myself.

Iberostar Origin Laguna Azul: Awesome stay

I really needed a relaxing holiday and Laguna Azul went above and beyond to make it happen. Many thanks to all the staff they made me really feel like apart of the family A spacial thank you yo Dania Alonzo for everything you do and the special lady you are We will definitely be returning

Starfish Cuatro Palmas: Great resort

Great resort for overall value food was way better than expected and the beach was amazing …I do not have any big complaints other than maid service poor….they did a horrible job of cleaning rooms and found the maids slightly rude but all other staff were amazing and friendly.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Disappointed

The grounds/landscaping are really beautiful, both main pool and Alegance pool are well maintained with lots of chairs. As regular ( 2X per year) visitors to Cuba we look forward to the beaches, the beaches at this property we're very rocky, narrow, drop to water into a line of sharp shells, dirty old lounge chairs, we spent no time at beach. We upgraded to Alegance, unfortunately Alegance restaurant was closed for renovations, so all our meals were supposed to be at Caleta restaurant where you [... read more]r "butler" had to make daily reservations; our butler was always missing, so we had to beg the staff in restaurant to book us in. Caleta had the exact same menu all week, which got rather tiresome. We did try the buffet in main resort a few times, but probably the worst food we've had in 10 years of visiting Cuba. Mike's Coffee Bar was the highlight of our day, the cappuccino were excellent .None of specialty restaurants were open/available. Some decent music was provided after dinner by lobby bar, there was a magician in the theatre one night. The rooms were cleaned daily, comfy beds, lots of water, pop, beer in fridge. Lunch in 24 hr snack bar near beach was always good, but repetitive.

Hotel Blau Las Morlas Varadero Beach: Very nice

Quaint place. Have been going there for over 10 years or so! It’s for people who like peaceful atmosphere, and are not there gorging and nonstop during! You meet like minded people and easily make friends. Staff is friendly.

Iberostar Coral Esmeralda: A long and honest review!

We have just returned (Nov 2025) after a week in Paradise! Cuba is definitely Paradise in our eyes, and this resort delivers with relaxation, friendliness of the staff and quality for the price…everyone needs to remember that you can’t have a weekend away at home for the price you pay for a week in the sun! The food didn’t disappoint, we ate at 3 of the a-la-cartes, Gourmet, International and Italian. You are only allowed 3 meals a-la-carte with a 7 day stay. Variety of food is fine, you always  [... read more]found enough to eat, they lack fresh fruit, lots of canned peaches, pears and fruit cocktail though! We have stayed in other resorts with Butler Service, this hotel didn’t come up to par with others. The Butlers were there, but not as visible. If help was needed you needed to ask. Management was always present, very visible and checking in at every turn. Grounds were always being worked on, areas were being painted, public bathrooms clean (although lacked toilet tissue, carry Kleenex at all times..lol). Rooms clean, water pressure great…we were on second floor, you needed to run the sink faucet and shower for a couple of minutes to have hot water, but at times you actually had to turn it down, otherwise the water was too hot! Bugs are abundant, but what can you expect when you’re in this part of the world! I had bites on my legs and arms that needed attention when returning home, unfortunately bug spray and After Bite didn’t cut it. Take Benadryl and something for itch relief with you, as you won’t be able to get it while there. Our room was ocean view in building 6, so relaxing to watch the sunrise every morning. The room was clean and we had plenty of towels and necessities at all times. Lots of bottled water, the room fridge had juice, beer and pop, but the pop froze and burst in ours. To summarize - yes, we would recommend, definitely a couples resort, everything requested was looked after, tipping was appreciated, please NOT loonies and toonies, they cannot be exchanged in Cuba, take US $1 bills and Canadian $5 and $10 bills ( no rips, staples or bills that have been written on, or mutilated in any way - This is nothing new, every country and island is like this! )Lots of stairs, NO elevators, so if a ground floor is needed please request. Above all, relax, forget work and have fun!

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 2nd Visit was every bit as good as the 1st!!

We went with the expectation that it was off season, so there would be less staff, less food, just not quite the same vibe as in April. That couldn't have been farther from the truth. We were on the Royal side, and as usual we were pampered. Food selection at all the a la cartes were great. The Italian alone offered between 7 and 9 choices for your main course, with at least 4 appetizer options, making it our go to choice for dinner. The ground are always so well kept and this trip was no exception. We can't wait to return in April!

Valentin Perla Blanca: “Exceeded Our Expectations”

We visited Valentin Pearla Blanca between November 1-8, 2025 and stayed in the Alegance section of the resort. Cuban playas never disappoint us but the one in Perla takes it to the next level. We’ll come back to Valentin Perla, not just for the playa but for the impeccable service that you provide. Your bosses should be very proud of you. We stayed in Perla during the low season so the food choices were limited but we never went hungry. For the same reason evening entertainment was scaled down but present. Bugs didn’t bother us too much, it’s a good idea to bring a good spray, oh and a flashlight. We didn’t have any major complaint’s and few minor issues (remote control stopped working and safety box malfunctioned) were resolved within 10 minutes of our call to the reception. Impressive. All in all, we were very happy to stay at Perla Blanca and will go back. Gracias amigos i amigas

Melia Cayo Coco: Amazing resort

We spent a great week at the CMC from November 8 to 19. This was our fourth visit to this resort and, like the first three times, everything lived up to our expectations.We introduced this resort this week with friends that are experienced travelers to the Caribbean and they loved it as much as we did. The site is really beautiful, the gardens are well maintained and the hotel is exemplary cleanliness. The buffet food is plentiful, tasty and quite varied. No issues with supply or power issues. the food at all the alacarts was fantastic. We are definitely going to return.

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Great Resort

food was good, grounds and beach are nice. Too many steps to get anywhere. They do have a few ramps. The staff are great! Not enough chairs for the pools. We had a nice ocean view on the third floor. Our bathroom needs to be updated.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Extremely Surprised!

I have been to Cuba more times than I care to count! I love Cuba...The people, the beach, how safe it is, everything! I went this time for a Cuban friends daughters Bday and was looking for somewhere cheap to stay. Villa Cuba was the option at the time. I was by myself and thought "how bad could it be?" Well, I was pleasantly surprised! Yes, it's an older hotel, so there is some wear & tear...But I bet half of who's reading this own home's have wear & tear lol! Food...well, its Cuba and dealing with the times we are in. But to be honest wasnt that bad. Always fresh eggs & bread at breakfast, Lunch in the restaurant by the beach was good. Dinner was hit or miss, usually I just went to town and had either a pizza or a steak & lobster for dinner. even the Snack bar was good, make the best sandwiches! I do have to mention "YAZ" he works the front desk and speaks ENGLISH!!! actually he speaks a few languages. But man! If you have an issue, or a concern he will take care of it. I watched him talk to some guests that came to the desk to complain. He listens, he feels you, and than he gets to work to fix the problem,....the whole time calming you down and making you feel special!! This guy shouldn't be at the front desk! He should be in charge of Guest relations! Any guest has a problem...CALL YAZ!!! Bottom line is, this hotel deserves more credit than it gets. Pool is stunning and well looked after, and the beach of course is beautiful! Its the same beach as all the hotels lol!! I would definitely go Back!

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: second time in resort

It is our second time in Iberostar Alameda resort. We liked it from our first stay: very nice hotel inspired by Spanish colonial design, an amazing beach, great beach BBQs, night disco dances, it is a cozy and ideal place for a couples retreat. In our second visit, four years later, we found a nice improvement such as easier approaches to the beach, renovated rooms and enlarged beach space. What can be improved is a quality and variety of food. We recommend to visit the local cave Cueva Ambrosio [... read more] which can be an alternative to the lengthy excursion in a cool no-beach and windy day as it happened to us. The hotel's stuff was very friendly. Highly recommend this hotel!

Grand Aston Cayo Paredon Beach Resort: A good standard resort

The premise is clean in all areas: well-maintained resort, clean rooms, clean public areas, clean pools and clean beach. The buffet food was acceptable. The a la carte restaurants' food needs improvement. Entertainment also needs to be improved.
