Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: It was nice experience

We enjoyed our stay in this resort, although at the beginning we experienced some issues with room conditions however they got them fixed asap which was amazing, food is ok, the beach is amazing, overall I give a thumb up considering in the pandemic situation.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Ugly Resort

My room is old, ugly, smell moldy, the curtain has little worms plant, and mosquitoes. I have no phone in my room for my entire week. I complain about that, but she ignore me . The bathroom is smell stinky and looks dirty. All the washrooms in the resort are stinky and dirty. Not all the faucets have water or only 1 or 2 faucets is working . Some of the toilet in the facility there is no flush water, broken and the door also. Too many flies in the buffet table. 😫 Some plates are still dirty.

Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria: Very nice vacation at Dhawa Cayo Santa Maria

We’ve just returned from this hotel. We stayed there in June-July 2022. Beautiful place, really nice clean and wide beach. Clean turquoise water. Beautiful gardens. Clean well kept rooms. Great buffet with a decent choice of food. Very nice staff. People there don’t really show that they only want a tip from you. But of course, accept it with a gratitude. Surprisingly one of the best vacations I’ve ever had. Thank you!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Great resort

Great resort for people who are looking to relax, since it's adults only. But be aware that there will still be 18 yrs old, who like to drink and be loud. Beach is amazing. So close to this part of the resort.

Iberostar Origin Playa Alameda: Memories Cuba

Myself and hubby stayed at Iberostar Playa Alameda from June26 to July 3 2022. Lots of beautiful mileage of beach to explore. Local vendors on the beach. Plenty of fresh fruit options available. Hotel staff and bartenders are super friendly and so helpful. Nightly shows available and extra entertainment on certain days of the week. Lots of additional tours available for extra cost. Food is bland but they do have options available to make your dish spicier. Rooms are clean and  [... read more]stocked daily with fresh towels. Drinks included unlimited and they serve the best cappuccino and mochachino. Pool table and tennis table available and included in all inclusive. Three alacartes available for Italian Caribbean and Romantico meals. Eduardo Chuc went over and beyond to make sure I had vegetarian meals.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Still a good place

it is a hard times for everyone and seems much harder for Cubans but they still deliver good value . Service is good, food is scarcer but ample, drinks as usually satisfying , good caffe and ample entertainment

Playa Pesquero: Crystal Clear Beach

Superior Room in Playa Pesquero is clean Grounds are well taken cared of Food is repetitive due to less supply received due to the pandemic Beach is crystal clear and beautiful Bay Adventure side trip is great

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Not as good as it was before Covid19

This was our third visit to Royalton Hicacos resort and i never thought that will say this but most likely will be the last one. So many has changed since our last visit in 2019. Rooms seem to be painted recently and that’s pretty much it, but food, entertainment, beach etc. is no longer what made this resort different than all others. Food - i hate saying this but it was so bad, we have struggled with food every day, breakfast, lunch or dinner, we just could not eat almost anything. Meat, bee [... read more]f, pork or chicken was so chewy, fish choices so bad, there was almost no fresh salads, most of salads were pickled salads, no fresh tomato, no lemon or onions. There were croissants served for breakfast and that was the best thing to eat. Choice of cold cuts was very limited and served the same staff during a day. There was also no orange juice at all, all that was served was watered down papaya and watermelon juice which we tried once only. Cooks on bbq stations look like they just learned how to cook, everything was too salty, and we didn’t dare to try anything else as it didn’t look that great. I don’t what changed since 2019, or 2018, but food then and now were totally different. Cuba was never about the food, everyone knows that but this time was bad, really. This resort had great entertainment in the past, we used to enjoy piano bar after dinner and live bands at the lobby bar, but this year was so lame, boring and short. Band or girl would come, play few lullabies, make long breaks, play another few songs and leave. People were so bored that at 10 PM the bar would be half empty, guests leaving disappointed. Beach was absolutely the best part, but comparing with previous times, there was no water stands with ice and lime in the morning, no BBQ hotdogs stand beside the volleyball area, and the beach was not cleaned daily so you could find cigarette butts and empty plastic cups. Staff, depending where they work, receptionists were very polite and smiling all the time, but buffet staff not so. Most of them looked so tired and not interested in work, they probably work long hours as we could see the same faces early in the morning and at lunch as well. This year there was no need to book any a la carte restaurants, it was first come first serve. We went just once, the beach restaurant, seafood choice, it was tiny half lobster tail with additional small piece of beef steak, and it was not great at all, so we decided not to go to any other. Room service, not great, one day they would fill the fridge with bottle of water and 2 small pops, the other day they wouldn’t leave anything. We did complain to the receptionist and that seem to work for few days. Leaving a tip would help for a day or two. All in all, was not what we expected, considering everything from Covid19 to global economic situation. Are we going to return eventually? Probably not.

Melia Cayo Coco: Ready to go back

Overall good experience. Slightly older resort with outdated rooms and furniture, but good service and decent food. It's a smaller resort which makes it easy and quick to get around, including the beach. The staff was very friendly and provided good service, the food is what you expect from Cuba. They have dinner you can book which provide a nice change from the buffet style. Overall I'd recommend the resort.

Melia Las Dunas: Good if only looking for drink, pool and relax under sun

Service (towel and activities etc) and food (buffet and a la carte) are very limited after pandemic, rooms are not maintained with slow sink and shower water half time not hot. Air conditioner is good. recommend only for people who look for some downtime with drinks

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing beach!

We booked for Park room instead we were acomodated in Spa area in large suite with 2 double beds,walk in closet,big washroom and big terrace so was like an upgrade. Wifi was working even in our room so was unexpected pleasant surprise. Food was OK,not much variety for vegetables but no major complain, breakfast had always eggs,cheeses and few days even prosciutto and smoked salmon. Dinner we had at buffet with 2 grills one for fish calamari another one for chicken breast,pork and beef. Was a pasta station too.Wines at buffet was from Spain,actually all around bars too.All people working in resort are very nice and friendly I just remember 2 names,Mildred from Spa and Alexander from beach restaurant,sorry for all other people I forgot their names. Beer ,wines,hard liquors plentiful all around resort, my wife enjoyed Mojitos made with fresh mint. Now about beach. Megano beach is the most beautiful I ever seen in Cuba!We went couple of times to pool only for Jacuzzi,most of time we enjoyed white sand and warm calm sea.

Iberostar Coral Holguin: Great relaxing resort, great staff and amazing pool.

This was the second time we were there this year.Staff was amazing again and they remembered us. Resort was very quiet, which is what we wanted, only around 35 people in our area which was the adults only. This is their slow season, very hot but enjoyable.

Hotel Bella Costa: Amazing Cuban time

Took my sister on a birthday trip and would recommend this resort and would absolutely go back. The staffs made you feel welcomed, from Linsay, to the amazing entertainment crew especially, Yoisel, to the best cleaner I have ever experienced Mabel. Those peopled named made this a trip to remember. I will be going back to Cuba and I will absolutely stay here. Also, Frankie as part of the entertainment crew was great as well. Had such a good time can't stop smiling.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Never again to Cuba

I rarely write a negative review and always try to look at the half filled cup only, but in Cuba it’s 90% empty cup. The beach was the ONLY thing that was astonishing!!!! Other than that everything was very VERY disappointing!!! It’s out of their control, I understand, but not my fault either..that’s why I’ll never visit Cuba. I would pay a little bit extra and be in a place where I can get my basic needs. In Cuba, basic needs are not met! Playa Vista Azul: Family vacation to Playa Vista Azul

We travelled as an extended family (5 adults and 2 young children aged 1 & 3). We were a little worried based on some of the reviews and we could not have been more pleasantly surprised. Yes the resort has seen better days, yes there are many areas for improvement. T [... read more]he food is repetitive but considering where you are, and how little the general population has, it’s really a shame to complain about anything. If you go, bring old clothes, toys and medicines to leave for the staff. They’ll be very appreciative. Also, although they now accept Canadian dollars directly as tips, their banks don’t accept coins so US 1$ bills are preferred.

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: Amazing.

Just come back on June 25,spent a week in a pleasant place with pleasant people. Whant to say big thank you to Elaine( receptionist) for helping me with restaurant reservation. So sad, didn't have a chance to say you goodbye. Only one thing make me disappointed, it is a lady from customer service, she does reservation for restaurants. We asked her to change our reservation for Italian restaurant. She refused, saying that is booked completely. But what makes me upset, she even didn't open the co [... read more]mputer to check if it was available. So, we managed to come to Italian restaurant ,again thank you to Elaine, but the restaurant wasn't busy at all. So for me, she really didn't care. Gran Muthu Imperial: Not as advertised

Hate to complain but this place really pushed me and my girlfriend to our limits. Calling this a five star resort is a flat out lie. I understand that there has been problems with food supply and covid-19 causing staff shortages. But the resulting stay was far from the product advertised. Almost everyone came off as very cold. The [... read more] atmosphere was just very awkward and confusing. When we asked where dinner was we got shrugs. Public bathrooms were constantly out of toilet paper. We went to the cigar bar looking to have a fun time (as people who dont normally smoke) and the person there just made us feel stupid for knowing nothing about the cigars. The fact that all al a carte restaurants were closed and they solely relied on an outdoor buffet for breakfast and lunch was a joke. Because the buffets were outside the staff had to fight a battle with flies the whole service. Some dishes by the end looked like they had more flies than food in them. The salads were rancid, just constant recycling of food from lunch to breakfast. It felt like a bad summer camp. I didnt eat other then the odd piece of bread and dinner for the last couple days. This was my first "resort" vacation and i found i have been served better meals in hostels in the middle of the Peruvian jungle. I feel the a la carte menus have just been the same since before the pandemic since the descriptions were completely different than the product served was often nothing like what was described. Soups smelt like burning steam tables. We spent $100 USD on a private lobster dinner that pretty much included 2 lobster tails, and appetizers/desert literally brought over to us from the buffet. They have these tables that i see they feature on facebook and Instagram with bottles and glasses lined up with lighting and stuff, but whenever we would walk by staff would just glare at us. I think they're just displays? Just kinda added to the bizarreness of the whole place. It seems like they have nice-ish facilities like a gym or a theatre but I constantly found that everything was shut. No choice in restaurants. All the gym equipment was "out of order" a nice square with several places but all the doors were locked. After braving some toast i needed a bathroom and 3 out of 3 bathrooms either didnt have toilet paper, were locked or was yelled at by maids saying dont go in there. I just feel lied to when looking at the 5 star rating. Really feel like a karen writing this out but i genuinely feel lied to about this resort and spent money but also limited vacation days down here. Once we got 3ish days in we were wishing to be home. It felt like we spent most days waiting our trip out on the beach and sleeping early since there was next to no nightlife. Every response I've received about complaints has been vague customer service copy and pasted mentioning they have brought up our issues to management, and we are left with a feeling of being taken advantage of. There is a shocking amount of good reviews posted that i cant understand, no one in their right mind would find the service, food and stay acceptable with what was advertised. To be fair the beach was nice, and if you end up here, definitely take advantage of a short trip to pillar beach to escape the resort.

Starfish Cayo Guillermo: .A really amazing resort. Could'nt ask for more.

I have often travelled to Cuba,mainly to Varadero and Holguin. Cayo Coco, this time was my first trip there and my first mistake was booking for only 1 week. Starfish Cayo Guillermo was just perfect. ALL employees at the hotel contributed to the extremely pleasant and welcoming atmosphere of the hotel. Every employee that I had contact with always had a smile and always polite. When I thanked one of the employees, the reply was "We are here to serve". That seems to be the all round motto there.  [... read more] My room was garden view, very near to the beach. Room is very pleasant and well equipped. Hotel and surroundings are very well kept, clean and tidy. Beach was great. There was never a problem finding a lounge chair at the beach. Food was good. I did not go hungry and I think I ate too much most meals. I will definitely be returning to this resort. Just an ending note, I have always believed good & happy employees reflect on Good management. Thank you for a very enjoyable stay at Starfish Cayo Guillermo.

Memories Trinidad Del Mar: Amazing helpful staff

The grounds were well kept. Daily staff were constantly on the move trimming the trees, grass etc. Bars were busy but well staffed so wait times were minor. The pool was clean and bright, well kept but shutting it down at 6pm was just annoying. Housekeeping staff were on the job nicely. Room was always made up promptly. Rooms are big and bright with an ample balcony and two nice chairs.It was however lacking a table that would have made the balcony great.
