Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Great resort
This is a great resort to kick back and relax. Not flashy but clean and good quality. The staff are very helpful and go out of their way to please. The beach is superior to many we've seen - overall a great value!
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Amazing stay!
Great and clean landscaping, very friendly and helpful staff, excellent beach. Variety of daily programs and nightly entertainment. The food exceeded our expectation from what we were led to beleive for Cuba, there were lots of variety with good taste! We recommend that you pack bug repellent, as the beach fleas left us with nasty bites. We didn't have a convertor for charging our electrical devises, and the one in the washroom was not working. We were thankful to be given one! Uppon arrival che [... read more]
Melia Cayo Santa Maria: Excellent Resort
Very good Hotel with all facilities like Tennis courts, gym in good shape. Nice beeches ocean access with helpful staff to accommodate us every morning. Lots of activities provided by very dedicated staff. Food was prepared by Mexican Chef with lots of varieties to choose from. Rooms nicely decorated with Hispanic accent, cleaned on time. Fridge stacked every day for drinks.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Friendly Staff
Our stay over Christmas 2014 was pleasant. The staff were very helpful. Room was very spacious but the cleaning staff was poor. Bed linen had not been changed for 3 days. Finally I pulled the sheets off. Also there was a day that no one came to clean the room. Entertainment was poor.
Sol Varadero Beach: Beautiful resort
The hotel was very rundown. The ceiling leaked in our room and our patio door did not lock but the grounds were spotless and the staff were phenomenal. The beach was amazing! No seaweed ever! The food was ok but the a la cartes were nothing special.
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Melia Peninsula review
Impressed with this resort. Food was better than other resorts we have stayed at in Cuba, service was very good and nice, well kept resort. When we contacted customer service and maid service,we were looked after right away and they were very interested in pleasing us. This resort is an excellent family friendly resort (even though we were travelling as a couple). There were renovations going on the centre Moat when we were there just before Christmas which was a bit inconvenient but was nearly [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: Great beach and amazing staff...some renos needed
Block we stayed in needs some major renos but cleaning lady was great and rooms were always clean. Grounds were nice, but some facilities(I.e. Gym and kids club) were non-existent. Public washrooms require more attention and themed restaurant (International) was anything but "special"...Overall staff though were very very accommodating and pleasant and the beach has to be one of the nicest in Cuba. Here's hoping the stage is already fixed :)
Melia Puerto Vallarta: Very Good
This is the 2nd time that we have vacationed at this resort as a family and we will be back again! It is very family friendly and our 3 boys loved it too! We also have friends in Peurto Vallarta and we appreciate being able to spend time with them on the resort by purchasing a day pass for them to swim and have dinner together. The rooms are clean and well kept and up to date, however I would suggest that they upgrade the double bed to a queen bed in the Deluxe room . Last time we were lucky eno [... read more]
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: Away from winter blues!!!!
This was by far the cleanest resort we have been to In Cuba (over 20 times to different resorts, all categories). It helps that there are enough waste recepticles. The men cleaning the grounds are extremely unobtrusive. Unfortunately, it was quite windy the ten days we were there, so we spent very little time on the beach (although it is amazing, and the water is nice for swimming). The pool area was nice and secluded, enough lounge chairs. Rooms were spacious and clean good matress. Trip to the [... read more]
Hotel Vigia: Nice overall
Except for an occasional lack of towels, no complaint. Exceptional service when you tip, marvelous beach at low tide, above average food for Cuba, outstanding international bar and delicious food on the beach (Jorge). A ranchon close to the beach would have been great (appears to be under construction).
Dreams Sapphire Resort and Spa: Preferred Club Dec.20-28th 2014 room 106
The grounds were pretty nice, some pool tiles coming loose , but still good. Food(Buffet) is the same as most 4 Stars. Mosquitos are bad due to the jungle area ( take Deet) the restaurants (a la Carts) were great but there was a continued problem with guests travelling in large numbers, they wouldn't leave once finished eating, sometimes taking 3 hours for 16 people to clear out of a restaurant that didn't seem to hold many people. They wouldn't ask them to leave, & they ( the guest)were too sel [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Decent resort but not outstanding.
Princesa Del Mar was a nice, clean resort, with a wonderful staff. Rooms were average and require updating, especially the beds (flat screen TVs were being installed during our stay). The food was decent but not memorable, including the a la cartes.. The beach was not as magnificent as expected. The entertainment was 'cruise ship-like". Alcoholic beverages were very 'generous'.
Hotel Vigia: Very nice small resort!
I really liked this resort, everything was close! Food was good and there was something different everyday. The staff was amazing (especially in the buffet). The pools were very clean and you could always find a spot.....but the beach was the best part! It was clean and nice and shallow, you could walk for a half a km before going over your head! A bit windy at times but the you could watch all the kite surfers! I'll be going back for sure☺
Melia Cayo Coco: Really amazing and Friendly
There are little to no complaints about this resort. The only issue we had in our room was the plumbing. But we were just unlucky with our room. Otherwise it was fantastic, place was clean and people were helpful. Horseback riding was excellent as it was our first time. We didn't do all the excursions, except the horseback riding and also a back massage which was great! We would definitely go back, and recommend everyone to go. For the price we paid, we were definitely happy and lucky
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: very good resort
This was my fifth or sixth time at this hotel, used to go to Varadero. This time, was better then ever before, even though weather did not fully cooperate. As on my earlier visits,I've brought another copula with us.They were amazed with everything about this hotel and its location. They used to go to Varadero, but definitely switching their vacation destination! Service was excellent,so was location and beach, rooms very clean, bathrooms need renovation, but still functional and clean. Food:Variety of fo [... read more]
Sol Cayo Santa Maria: relaxing resort
well maintained, easy access to facilities, there is a long beach to walk or hang out on, there is also a small nudist part of the beach if your into that. the pool water was a little too cold for me but all in all we were satisfied with everything.
Starfish Cayo Largo: It just gets better every time
We travelled to Sol Pelicano from November 24 to December 8, 2014. We have been many times, very many times, so we know what to expect. First the weather was perfect, warm and sunny for the two weeks, so that makes for a great beach holiday. Cayo Largo is a beach resort. The beach right now is very wide and there are a lot of palapas for shade. The pool is good. There are lots of new chairs at the pool and at the beach. Our room was very nice, and Ada and Osmi did a wonderful job. We found the b [... read more]
Sol Rio de Luna y Mares: Just ok
Hotel for me was just ok. Beach and staff were good, hotel itself is tired and needs lots of work to update it, needs to be freshined up! Food, well it just wasn't good, I have visited approx. 10 all inclusive hotels in many different country's and the food at the Sol Rio Luna Mare was by far the least enjoyable.
Hotel Vigia: Enjoyable getaway for a week!
Nov 29-dec 6/14, had a terrific week at Cayo sol Guillermo. Only one a la carte open but the food was good, No complaints about the buffet, was great every time, love the breads and buns, pasta, omelettes desserts all yummy! The best bartenders by far comparing our other vacations! Friendly staff every where, special touch by gardener with coconuts and flowers! Please tip as income of 25 pesos/ mos for most employees is not much... Shampoos and soaps very welcomed by all. I would love to return [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Wouldn't think of going anywhere else!!!
10th time there, as always we had a wonderful trip. Staff is amazing, service is great, always clean. Food is very good, our favorite is the beach restaurant. Giselle is one of the servicer, she always has a hug for us.
