Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great place, except for reception & check in/out times

Here are the facts: -We paid for Jr. suite with a sofa but there was no sofa -Our connecting door (for shared rooms option) wasn’t locked so a stranger walked into our room at 2am!!! -Reception says to change money to Cuban, Canadian or US dollars but all excursions are paid with Visa or Mastercard only -The store people had no change so gave us masks instead -Tables and chairs were NEVER cleaned/disinfected (except for stage area) -We arrived at 10:00am but check in is 4:00pm… we ha [... read more]d zero sleep and were hungry, we wanted to shower (flight with coughing passengers), hit by the heat (duh, it’s Cuba) We had to wait until 4 to do all the above -Soap is 75% water (no lather) -Buffet had no barriers or cleaning of shared serving utensils -Tables we’re “washed” with a VERY watered down soap spray (no scent) -Bugs in all corners of floor -Headboard was dusty and had spider webs -Only visible cooks wore masks -Get “take away” plastic cups at bar and buffet because dishes aren’t cleaned properly -Hand sanitizer empty and only a few pumps available

Playa Cayo Santa Maria: The best walue for money

Nice layout and beautiful beach and the main thing it's very few mosquitoes at night and a nice disco club and I was surprised to see that food was really great and tasty knowing what the country goes through right now a big big surprise for me and like always very friendly and nice people all around

Sol Palmeras: Great resort!

Really nice resort with incredibly nice staff and great service. The beach was outstanding! The rooms were really nice and clean. The animation team was great by providing activities and shows at night.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Santa Maria: Don’t go to this resort

We booked our vacation based on the reviews here and I went to this resort with an open mind since it’s after the pandemic. Here is what you really need to know. -the beach is wonderful! Has always been and will always be. There is no comparison at this price point - the food is bland and repetitive. The white rice at lunch will be the brown rice at dinner. I understand that they have to use the left overs but honestly you need to bring the following with you. -ketchup -peanut butter [... read more] -jam -pitas or bread cause theirs is so hard even toasted -nuts or chips cause there are barely any snacks We ate the same food for an entire week. I was extremely excited to see calamari on the menu the first day but by day 4… I can’t see any more calamari! For the food is basic, you won’t be hungry but you won’t be satisfied either. The accommodations- the rooms are in need of repair and they are extremely outdated. Clean but outdated The service- poor! I was used to the happy people of Cuba and enjoyed my interactions in the past, but it feel like they don’t care any longer and are just hunting for tips The resort- outdated and in need of repair. I would have thought with so much time on our hands during Covid that they would have taken this time to repair and upgrade their hotels. Other notes: The music sucks and is very disturbing and not you expect from an adult only resort. Typically they are classier and have soft music playing. Not music like you’re in the late night club. The wifi situation is poor, always having to ask for more wifi and constantly having to sign into use your rations. The door keys constantly stop working and when you’re going to the third floor and have to clean all the way back to reception to get your key fixed again! Very annoying. My overall opinion, is that if you are prepared, it’s a cost effective vacation but you should really only count on the beach…and nothing else We all came home sick!

Grand Muthu Cayo Guillermo: Not clean

Rooms are ok. Dining and common areas are not clean at all and full of flies. Food is bad with very very limited varaties. At the lobby Very bad customer service. At the restaurant, people are very nice and trying their best.

Playa Luxury Cayo Las Brujas: Wonderful Vacation

If you are looking for a great relaxing holiday, this is the place. We stayed at the Angsana from May 10 to 24, and just loved EVERYTHING about this resort: spacious and bright accommodations, delicious food, superb drinks, etc. ALL personnel are very attentive, competent, friendly - simply fantastic. T [... read more]he grounds are very well kept - so many varieties of bushes, trees, and flowers - a delight to behold. Good job gardeners! The beach is second to none. It just doesn't get any better. Loved the two smaller beaches as well - very private. Occupancy during our stay was low, so it was very quiet and relaxing. We highly recommend this resort and look forward to return very soon.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Amazing Resort

Beautiful resort , amazing landscape , beautiful beach , clean and nice rooms , staff people are very friendly. Quality and quantity of food was poor , but I think that was because of Corvid and not many people . I think when the season picks up the food will be better .

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Nice resort …. Beautiful beach!!

Keeping in mind all limitations of been in Cuba it is a very nice resort, food is good service is good and people friendly and the beach is amazing …. Definitely I will return ….. if you want to enjoy the beach this is your hotel.

Melia Las Americas: Hotel Las Americas

Lets start with the good! The beach and water is one of the best cleanest turquoise kind of water you can find on the earth. The weather is unbelievably hot and humid at this time of the year so if your looking for a place to tan well and enjoy hot weather Varadero and this hotel is for you. The food is cheap if you go off the hotel strip and take a day trip to downtown Varadero and you can have a great family time. The bad for Melia La America There is always a shortage of entertainment, at night there is no investment to enjoy a good time. They dont have enough servers to remotely take care of guests when everyone comes into the main place in the middle of the hotel The hotel lacks alot of basic things to the average north american, butter is scarce in the morning, room service takes forever since they have minimal staff, I found staff swimming in the pools with thier dirty cloths thinking no one was watching. Overall service is gone wayyyyyy down on this hotel in the past 4yrs. Its barely a 3 star in my opinion. This hotel used to be great, but quality of food, service, entertainment and lack of food choices are the worst its ever been. Sorry I would totally recommend anyone to not go to this hotel. it no longer brings value for your money.

Hotel Rancho Luna: Good resort, but

Hotel/Resort is very GOOD. Management working hard. Manager OLGA doing her best to improve services. But -Music TOO LOUD.(during the day and in the night) Night show is in UNBEARABLE. LOUD -Take Solicitors OUT OFF Hotel Beach Girls, Currency ex changers, Unlicensed massage therapists,etc putting TOO much pressure on canadian hotel guests.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: 4 stars not 5

Very poor food, no Chechen, meet bread ,..... Beach very good and clean, service grate the attitude great, we complain about food, the answer suppliers problems , what about the fish,no answer last 2 days we get sick with coved.

Melia Cayo Coco: Beautiful resort!

Melia Cayo Coco is a beautiful adult only resort to enjoy a relaxing fun vacation. The staff were very friendly and accommodating to make your vacation enjoyable. They take the COVID precautions serious always cleaning and sanitizing to ensure our safety. All the restaurants provided a great selection to choose from. I really enjoyed the Ala carte.restaurantl the International was exceptional. The waiters and waitresses serving at all these locations work very hard and provided exceptional  [... read more]service. The entertainment in the evenings was amazing. The only negative about this resort is the cats something needs to be done about them. Overall it is a great place to go to for a vacation! Reviews are correct about the closeness to the airport only 15 minutes. Check-in and customs went very smoothly. Thanks Melia for a great vacation. I look forward to returning to the Melia for another amazing vacation.

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Perfect Vacation

My husband and I have been to this resort 8 times.. they have never disappointed us.. we travelled to Varadero Cuba the week of June 9th for 11 days.. We stayed at Sanctuary the adult portion of Grand Memories. Our plane arrived at 7pm, we had a taxi waiting for us and arrived at Sanctuary at 745pm. Alled is the beach bartender.. Barbie is the supervisor for food and beverage a really sweet girl with a beautiful smile that she shares with everyone .. the rooms are a little tired but they are spotless .. we don’t go for the rooms we go for the people and the beach.. and they are above and beyond. They are working very hard to get back to where they were before Covid..I We had great food ..bacon and eggs every morning and never left hungry after any meal.. we ended our vacation happy and relaxed .. A big thank you to management and staff .. we will definitely return ♥️♥️

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Still Fantastic

The Sanctuary is still wonderful we just returned . First trip since Covid but our 8th time at the Sanctuary. The staff are so friendly they seem like family. Everyone from management to the maids do everything to make our vacation fantastic. The food is very good you will not go hungry. Some shortages but only a few ( Diet cola) we had a amazing trip and can’t wait to go back.

I recommend this hotel, impeccable service, absolute cleanliness, good food, beautiful beach, L LIKE +++ Very good outdoor show in the evening. Very good animation. the grounds and landscaping are to beautiful.

Clean, well kept grounds, beautiful room, wonderful staff, & surprisingly good food! We have already recommended this resort to friends! Had a fantastic excursion to Havana & enjoyed this holiday start to finish!

Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero: Life at the Sanctuary

Jose Mario our Butler was helpful as ever. Love his sense of humour and attention to detail especially organizing our taxis. Yeny is a gem, she kept our room so organized and clean. The mango ice cream and fried calamari are a hit. You can taste and see the Italian influence of new Chef Enzo. In the lounge bar Liosdani treated us like gold. He is a sincere person, works hard, always smiling. Anet is a sweetheart and engages in conversations with guests. JJ surprised us with fried calamari and Adriana knows how to make delicious Frappuccino. The cart drivers are entertaining with great personalities accompanied with big smiles. Happy to have conversations with Yamaisy and Juana. Beautiful women, so outgoing and interesting to talk to. Definite asset to the Media Relation and Butler teams. Always treated with love and respect during our stay from the lady who gives out the beach towels, gardeners, butlers, cart drivers, lifeguards, Hobie Cat crew, restuarant staff, Roxy and staff at the snack bar, lounge bartenders and other employees who know us but we don’t know them by name. We are even known at the buffet by the servers and of course Yurialis. Butler Norvi and Manager Carlos are real gentleman. The legend Jesús Gomez is world class with his years of experience and well loved by guests!!! Hope Management heard our request to move him back bartending in the lounge. Can hardly wait to see him again in August! We would be amidst not to mention the real, loveable character Alex Basanta on the beach. Alex works way too hard, always on the go putting out lounge chairs and running, yes running to serve guests drinks on the beach. He is truly loved by guests and a good ambassador representing the Sancutary. Go Yankees! Our observations were the excess amount of salt on the food & slow service in the restaurant. This was mentioned by a number of guests and Management were improving the situation. Don’t forget to bring bug spray. Although an all inclusive resort, please tip for your service in the lounge bar, restuarant, snack bar and Alex on the beach. It’s a personal decision to tip but the service you receive warrants tipping. We were surprised the lack of tipping. Our special thanks to the Manager Hilda who is the pillar of the Sancutary!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good Resort

Resort Staff are good, pleasant and welcoming. The neatness / hygiene however could use a lot of improvement. The wifi issue was another major problem as it disconnects every 3 hours or so and if you’re not in your room or around the reception, say you were relaxing at the beach, you’ll have to walk all the way if it’s that important . The main meals are nice, I mostly enjoyed them, dessert however… not as much.

Iberostar Selection Ensenachos: Amazing Fitness / Entertainment Staff

We stayed at the beach everyday for the whole week. Since there is no electricity at the beach area, the Fitness staff focused on volleyball only. One day, Osmany Gonzalez Lara, was resourceful enough and borrowed the bluetooth speaker of my friend and we had dancing lessons at the beach - both in the beach area and water.
