Melia Marina Varadero: Very good resort

This is an amazingly beautiful resort. Public washrooms are clean and always have toilet paper. Public areas also all very clean. Unfortunately the service is hit and miss. Although for the most part it is very good. The buffet is not desirable. Breakfast is the best. The grill at the beach is also very good; hint get the chicken. Pools are fantastic and so is the beach.

Melia Varadero: Great Resort

We loved the compact feel of this resort as everything was close by (restaurants, bars, pools etc). This resort is very clean, even the outdoor bathrooms. The food was plentiful and good, no issues. The one issue is that there is a beach bar but no bathroom on the beach so every time you needed to go, you had to walk all the way back to the pool area. I highly recommend this resort.

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Beach

Overall the resort was clean and the food was average. The rooms where a bit outdated. The staff was friendly, and helpful when something was needed.Walk to the beach was a bit out of the way and there where no ocean front rooms. The resort was still under some reno's from the hurricane.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Excellent Time!

The staff were friendly and very attentive. Grounds were well kept, and cleanliness was excellent! Food was good not amazing, it would be nice to see bottled water being used at all times, I didn't notice it in use at the buffet as they were filling jugs from the water in the soda machine. Beach would be a little small for the resort at full capacity. I would definitely go back again.

Iberostar Origin Bella Vista Varadero: Loved it!

I was very impressed with this hotel. The hotel foyer was very open and had very comfortable and clean furniture. The grounds were well kept, and the beach is very close to the hotel The dining was excellent, with a main buffet area, three themed restaurants, and a 24 hour snack bar. The bars are well situated and well stocked. All hotel staff were very friendly. The rooms were very comfortable and stylish.

Palma Real: accepable resort if you have no expectations...

For us it would be quite acceptable were it not for one big , huge nuisance: the "music".... starting at 10:30 p.m. ... bum, bum.... vibrating through the interior , until about 3:30 a.m. ..... plus the same "music" put on in their rooms..... not relaxing. Could not sleep for hours every night because of these vibrations. The second big annoyance is that the beautiful beach is full of garbage! tourists just throw all the ploastic all over.... unbelievable. Never again am I flying with TRANSAT!!! direct flight from Vancouver.... over Edmonton... chased into a corridor... no washrooms... change ple.... sit in the plane ready for take-offfr and wait another hour because the food is not on board.... not one bite on the flight... just selling.. On the departure in Varadero... all on board on time.... wait 45 Minutes to fix the computer controlling the shitty movies on board... what service is this? Arno

Grand Memories Varadero: Ok memories

I have been on many trips to all inclusive resorts. I always stay in 4-5 star resorts. This was my second time in Cuba so I knew what I was getting into. All of that said here is my review. The food was the worst I have had on vacation, I expected the food to be bland but they barely cooked it or burned it. I spent most of the week eating a ham and cheese sandwich and I don't even like ham! The grounds were ok, they could be so much better but they just don't really take care of it. Now for the good, the staff were amazing, I had an absolute blast with them. Welcoming, warm, always willing to go the extra mile. The shows were ok, beach was nice. All in all, I got a pretty good deal for 1 week in Cuba and I got what I paid for.

Palma Real: outdated resort

Mattresses should be all replaced with new ones, we checked only three rooms. Out of 14 days, we had hot water only 9 days... and actually only warm water. This is a nice resort but it's not maintained properly: I recommend that management provide staff with good cleaning products and spray rooms against bugs as the hotel doesn't have window screens. As far as I'm concerned, food is good for a 3 stars hotel: quite a selection of vegetables, meat, fish and great deserts including the best ice  [... read more]cream. Plenty of fruits and impeccable service.

Occidental Arenas Blancas: Upgraded!

when we first arrived at the resort, we were told we would have to check in at the sister resort. We thought we would have to walk to ours, however, we were happy to find out that we were upgraded to that resort. We loved the ability to enjoy the amenities at both resorts, while getting a room in the better one. Staff were friendly, and food pretty good considering it was Cuba. The town was a short walk down the street, where we are out at restaurants and bought souvenirs. Overall, loved it!

Starfish Varadero: Never again....frogs and cockroaches NO HOT WATER ENTIRE WEEK

The buffet was fair at the best often seen birds dive bombing the buffet table we were given a bungalow on main floor which had small cockroaches and one seen was about 2 inches in length..it even cast a shadow there was splatter on Wall and I kept telling myself it is maybe wine (red) and it was there entire week to make things worse no hot water entire week and I had a drip from ceiling which dripped sll into my makeup bag and ruined a few things and made floor very slippery the pathw [... read more]ay to main lobby was so dark there were no lights at all plus small bar located on second floor would have been more convenient to have something on main level would not go back

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Breathtaking!

I absolutely loved this place but most of all I loved the staff. The most friendly and happy people Ive met. They really took care of us and went above and beyond our expectations. The white sand beac is in walking distance. the hotel has several different cuisines to choose from which was a highlight. The architecture is beautiful. I do wish the hot tubs were available.. The hotel also always had entertainment going on every night!

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Good Value

I took my grandsons (16 & 13) on their first trip south. We selected this resort for the beach and close proximity to Varedaro. Overall we were very satisfied with the value we received. Great beach, good rooms, good food, &great entertainment, Were pleasantly surprised to find out that their was no restrictions on the al la cart restaurants; you could go any evening.

Sol Varadero Beach: Great time

I was a little reluctant an this hotel being a 3 star. The hotel is old but clean ..The only trouble I had (Because I have a little trouble walking). Was the pools there was only one that had a hand rail to get in or out. The food was good ..And the staff were great.

The buildings may be older but the beach and the people at this resort are A+ Most of the guests the repeaters that I’ve been coming back for years and years because of the family atmosphere and wonderful people. Going back again as soon as possible… I love this place!

Los Delfines: Better than you are expecting

The hotel is small but that makes it somewhat more intimate and welcoming. The food is as good as or better than most other resorts even with higher star ratings. The beach is stunning and the staff A+

Melia Las Antillas: Things have changed...

I was at this very resort in January of 2017, then returned in December 2017. I noticed that the resort was not as well maintained as in the past. The elevator was not working, and this was not communicated to us or anyone else at check-in. We were on the top floor which did not bother me other than when we had to carry our luggage to and from our room. We were there one week and it was never working. The railing on the spiral stairwell to the lobby (the only way there) was decorated with X [... read more]mas decor so that you could only hold on to one side. I felt bad for those with mobility issues as this was a major problem. It was a busy staircase and it was hard to get up or down. The outdoor stage was under construction. It looked like there was very little left to do, but it was not complete in our time there. For some reason, the resort decided this was the right time to renovate one of the restaurants. So the resources that could have gone to the outdoor stage and various other areas were put in the restaurant. So there were only two of three a la cartes available. We were told the Romantico was fully booked, but when we did visit that restaurant, several tables were left empty. More people should have been able to enjoy the only nice restaurant in the place. The shows were often in the lobby, which in such a confined space was just too loud. They are great when they are outdoors. The rooms are looking tired, especially the bathrooms. There were chipped tubs and sinks, and dirty grout in both rooms I stayed in. Beer and toilet paper were not replenished regularly. There was a major rainstorm while we were there, and our room, the buffet dining area and the pool bathroom all leaked extensively. Major streams, not drips. The palapas over the pool chairs were replaced with wooden covers that might be better for rain, but only offer a fraction of the sun protection they used to. Wish they were larger. More English channels needed on the TV. Loved the new smoothie station. All staff was great with the exception of the front desk. The beach and pool were great. If the price was right, I would return with the hopes that they look after a few maintenance items.

Roc Barlovento: Fantastic Resort

Everything about our vacation and resort was awesome. The food, the room, the staff..everything was perfect. We also got engaged which makes it even more magical. Thank you Trip Central and Teresa for everything

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great

Newer hotel. Great hospitality. Excellent surroundings.. great pool, bars and entertainment. Would suggest: workmanship in rooms not that great, bathrooms fitted with latest fittings but installed very poorly and least or no maintenance in the fixtures. Bath tubs, sink taps, standing showers everything needs attention but no proper check up and repair right away. English is a major obstacle despite maximum presence of Canadians in the resort. Non Spanish have to struggle for right communica [... read more]tion as the staff speaks Spanish all the time. Food they tried their best but not that every North American would love.

Hotel Villa Cuba: Not Happy

To be fair in this review we had one day of good weather the second was a torrential rainstorm and cold weather the rest of our week. 2pm in the afternoon was the only time I could don a bathing suit. The rest of the time I wore pants and the thick sweatshirt I flew down in. Early December is not the time to go to Cuba. Now the resort : We have been to Cuba 6 times and have always loved it but this was the worst. Nice large room but right above the main stage which is placed right at the centre of the hotel so everyone hears the night show whether you want to or not. Front desk people were kind and we changed our room 3 times finally upgrading to the main hotel for 85.00 Cdn which was good since we stayed in the room to keep warm every night. No heat in the room so we turned on all the lights and tv and volume to heat the room. Drinks tasted like sweet water with alcohol added. All in all the worst experience in Cuba ever

Iberostar Selection Varadero: Great resort!

We recently visited Iberostar Varadero in Cuba, where we are return customers. It was sad to see a lot of the trees and green areas damaged by the hurricane, not just at the resort but all over. The resort itself has been rebuilt and repaired and you would not otherwise be able to tell they experienced the hurricane. People ar [... read more]e friendly and helpful. Resort and rooms are kept up in very good condition. The buffet is excellent and we are there most days. I'm not personally a fan of the themed restaurants, as I've found they miss the mark in terms of the cuisine. We also travel with children, so the buffet is just easier. The pool was cold due to the weather, but the entertainment staff were great in engaging the guests and keeping things fun and upbeat. The beach is kept up well, and there are lifeguards on duty. Overall, it was an excellent experience.
