Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Bring bug spray

We went for the beach because of the beautiful pictures we had seen and were disappointed to find a smaller beach area with tons of seaweed which resulted in a seaweed smell I'm sure the beach goers must have become accustom to, not us. The pool area and staff were great. Actually we loved all staff from servers to our room maid. The resort was under renovation so we got an older room with a hard as rock bed, we arnt fussy and often commented it may be worth it to return in five years or so when [... read more] renoes are complete.

Hotel Playa Coco: Get away to paridise

I went to this hotel on nov 5. To nov 12 2014 I choose it for the e price it was offered --as I had never been south before What a beautiful beach it is It is a place for relaxation and just having no cares in the world The food was so varied we had something different every day with always friendly smiling service from the workers The front desk were helpful,the maids did a great job cleaning and the grounds and pool were immaculate. I was surprised at how many guests returned yearly and made this hotel team their destination I found it was like one big family!, The beach was safe and kept in great shape never a problem to find a chair also lots of sun and shade The gift shop was small but varied and I was able to buy all my souvenir onsie and at the venders on the beach. The excursions looked tempting but I only went to pillar beach on the double decker for 5 cuc ,,a great value.i was too busy on the resort The west jet team were helpful at pick up and departure to the airport no problems!! If you want to truly get away from it all.. This is the place to go for sure The sun was beautiful every day in this paradise I hope to return one day and please do not change a thing!,

Hotel Playa Coco: A Resort to Try

My Nov. 5 to Nov. 12 2014 trip to Playa Cayo Coco resort,was my first time in Cuba.I found the staff to be extremely helpful and always had a big smile on their face.They truly went above and beyond,to make my trip special The beach was very clean( even seaweed was raked up everyday)Food was plentiful,with something for everyone's taste.The rooms were large and kept clean.The pool was kept immaculate.It was cleaned daily.Every night the dancers put on shows that were very entertaining.This resor [... read more]t is family oriented,so if your looking for a place to go for relaxation, lots of sun and staff that cares about you having a great vacation,this is the resort to go to

Hotel Mojito: Very good resort

The staff were all fabulous, very friendly and accommodating. The hotels are 3 stories so ask for bottom floor if you have a problem with stairs. The rooms were okay and always clean.. 1 pool with a swim up bar and another pool for adults only.

Hotel Mojito: Highly recommended resort

Beautiful resort conveniently located 15 minutes from the Cayo Coco Airport. Staff attentive everywhere needed through out the resort. Beach a little walk from the resort but worth the stroll-not much exercise during my stay so this was an enjoyable activity

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: Very nice ,well managed resort.

We returned from Memories Caribe on Nov 6th. It was a very nice resort and we always felt comfortable and welcome. The staff are wonderful and always went over and above to be helpful. The rooms are a little tired but everything worked. the grounds are beautiful and well kept. Of course the beach is second to none. The time from the airport to the hotel was a bonus ,very short drive.All in all we were happy with our stay and will go back as it suits our need perfectly.This is our 10th visit to C [... read more]uba and one of our favourites.

Iberostar Origin Daiquiri: Great hotel

Recently returned from a 10 day stay at the Iberostar Daquiri. Although half the hotel is being renovated you would never know it. Staff are wonderful and happy to help you in anyway. This was my second stay and I would recommend this resort to anyone. The food was excellent. My only complaint would be the number of no-see-ums which seemed to cause may to react to their bites. More fogging may need to be implemented.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: I dont think ill be returning

Lets just say that this vacation I wasnt too pleased with. The weather was cold enough to wear a sweater. The first and the last day was the only warmest day out of the whole 7 days. Th mosquitos are a killer. I WARN YOU to bring bug spray, after bite, and a mosquito net for the little ones and yourself. Consider yourself warned! As they dont spray the resort untill around 7pm at nite. And still that doesn't do not much. They food, let just say you eat the same thing every day just in a differen [... read more]t form. I.e. if you have grilled fish for lunch you will have breaded fish for dinner. (They just battered the fish) I kid you not. The staff are Extremely wonderful and nice. Their English is pretty good, better than what I expected. The beach is amazing, once in it. Memories beach is hidden I noticed that most people where taking an excursion to a beach that is 15 minutes away. Because their doing reno's on the beach so lets just say it doesnt look too appealing at first. I wasnt taking a trip to a beach 15 minutes away when I paid hundreds of dollars to have everything at my fingers tips. That also kinda put a damper in the trip. I was just glad to leave. Even in the plane the mosquitos were following us. I was just soo paranoid especially having a 8 month old baby with me.

Hotel Playa Coco: Amazing Relaxing Vacation !!!

We have been to this resort fo a second time and will be going back. The most important part of the resort is the friendly staff .They truely make your stay great. The rooms are spacior and very clean.I would recommand the yellow building because of the great view of the beach and ocean. Amazing beach with cristal clear water and fine white sand. From our room , but most of all the time we spent talking to them.They also arranged a special return vistiors dinner by the pool side .With a Aqua Shower by dance swimmers. Dario Hotel Director took time to talk and as about our stay on the resort.This means alot when someone in chrage takes time ti have a friendly chat with you evryday. Next the staff in charge of daily fun activities Maya,Mayelin and Maikel .Dance lessons, fun games even though I was the LOSER everytime .LOL., Aqua fitness and Bingo. Had so much fun with them. We also met so many wonderful fellow travelors too. We made some new friends. It was so hard to leave the RESORT because of the woderful time we had. Yalily sat with us while we were waiting for our bus to leave for home and talked about her family and she is having a baby .She is an amazing lady. This resort feels like a second home and family.YOU KNOW ITS A GREAT RESORT WHEN YOU CRY BECAUSE YOU ARE LEAVING !!!

Hotel Vigia: could be better

Accommodations "tired". Needs paint, drawers of dresser did not close, towels and bath mats frayed. Staff were excellent!! New lobby bar great! Beach was nice once seaweed cleared away. Spraying for bugs when drinking around the outdoor bar area was not good!

Service was amazing. Food was fantastic for cuba! Fresh grilled fish, shrimp, chicken, beef. The only disappointment was the beach but new that going in. Rooms were very clean. Woukd rate it a 5 if the beach was better

Hotel Playa Paraiso: Great Resort

The hotel is only a year old, very modern rooms, comfortable beds. The food was actually pretty good at this resort, drinks were fantastic. The beach to the right of the resort is spectacular, but if you go to the left it is very rocky(bring water shoes). Do your self a favour and take a taxi ride over to Lenny's Bar and Grill for a lobster and shrimp dinner, 15 CUC you cant go wrong. Go around 1200 so you can liste to the live band, great atmosphere, fun, fun, fun.

Memories Caribe Beach Resort: A great holiday at an excellent price!

I had read many reviews of the property before going, all the good, bad and the ugly. I noticed many referred to Noelia, and for good reason - she is making wonderful progress here at the resort. I certainly hope she is well compensated for her hard work. The check-in and flight with Sunwing was perfect. Three hours and 6 minutes. Arrival and check-in at the hotel also very organized. The room was well appointed and maid service was excellent. Lots of hot water and water pressure. Fresh water b [... read more]ottle every day and wonderful towel sculputing! The staff was always helpful and happy. They especially liked when we shared our Canadian snacks of Pringles, cashews, candies, etc. The Hallowe'en show was awesome and held right on the beach. The Piano bar was excellent and made great coffees everyday. Service there was very good as well. the servers at the swim up bar and 24 hour snack bar were wonderful! The food overall was not great but not bad either. I could always find something to eat at dinner, lunch and breakfast and many days I just grazed at the 24 hour snack bar - which was excellent. The french fries were delicious as were the pizzas, burgers and hot dogs. The beach bar also had burgers, hot dogs and fresh made pizzas - you pick the toppings. At breakfast you could have fresh fruit smoothies, omelettes, waffles and pancakes! Bring your own steak sauce if you don't like A-1, and ketchup if you want Heinz. I didn't see any peanut butter either. Otherwise, they have everything you would need. There really were a lot of mosquitoes - I got bit quite a bit but my friend did not at all? the worst experience with them was at the a la carte at the beach at night. Also, be very careful about going off the sand on the beach - I stepped into a landmine of burr like growths which were very sharp and hard to get out of my feet. It was a painful lesson to be learned, and they seemed to have barbs on them making them very hard to get out, even with tweezers and a safety pin. We met a ton of wonderful people there, and had a great time. It was a bargain for sure, and I would recommend it for budget concious travellers and families too. We stayed October 27 to November 3, 2014, and travelled as a couple.

This is a lovely resort. The grounds are kept clean and are well-tended. And of course the people are lovely, very warm and friendly. The beach: nice, but at this time of year there were a fair number of jellyfish, so one had to be watching constantly while in the water. For this reason, we spent more time at the pool than at the beach. And we really enjoyed the pool. (We really appreciated Yunel's service.) We were here for our 40th wedding anniversary. When we mentioned this, we were given an extra 'a la carte' restaurant meal, and a beautifully decorated cake! Thank you. The only excursion we did was the glass bottom boat, which took us out to a nice snorkeling spot. The dead bolt in the door of our room was totally missing when we got there! However, we mentioned it the next day at the lobby, and when we got back from the pool, it was fixed!!! Well done. Flying with Sunwing was a good experience.

Clean, felt so looked after, felt like being on a large 5 star plantation. rooms were clean quiet great mattresses, staff went out of their way to make my comfortable. People so friendly you could sit down anywhere and feel welcome

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: Fantastic Vacation!!

This was our first trip to Cayo Coco but we have been to Cuba in the past. This resort was one of the nicest places we have stayed in Cuba. The grounds are beautiful and well maintained and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We only had some minor issues with management on our day of check-in due to room issues. The manager on duty that day was very rude and not helpful. Staff who were on duty the next day were very accommodating and resolved our issues quickly. The resort is very clean a [... read more]nd the rooms are spacious and very clean. The food at this resort was fantastic ( especially at the a-la-cartes). I would definitely recommend the Diamond Club upgrade as some of the additional perks were worth the small extra charge. Lunch at the a-la-cart restaurant was worth it alone. Excellent fish! The only negative at this resort was the beach. We had been warned that there was a lot of coral on this beach and the water was difficult to access but we were not expecting it to be quite so bad. If you are not a beach person (like we are) this should definitely not prevent you from visiting this resort. If you really like the beach, you may be dissappointed. We still spent most of our time on the beach during our visit and this did not prevent us from having a good time. The resort is currently doing renovations to improve the beach area. Once they have finished, we will definitely return!

Hotel Camino del Mar: Go for the Beach

Family and I have been to this resort many times since it has opened. Just got back on Saturday, have not been to this resort in six years. The resort is getting tired but still has the charm and staff that kept us coming back. Beach is beautiful, I prefer it over Pilar which is so crowded. Rooms are spacious, but again a little tired. Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: beautiful funfilled resort.

It was my first time to Cuba and was made very welcomed. Staff at Memories was very helpful and friendly. The kids had so much fun. And as long as my baby is happy I am happy. I will recommend and visit again. I also intend to visit other areas in Cuba like it there it reminds me of birth country. I was told food at Cubana resorts sucked I can say that this resort had good food choices and options for flavour added to order. I would recommend a choice of other types of fish preferably local fish [... read more] on the menue though. When I travel fresh fish is my main source of protein. I can get fresh meats in ontario but freshly caught fish a rarity. Deserts were wonderful breads n fillers (rice potatoes pastas etc) vegetables fruits yum and antipasto good choices. Fresh fruit juices loved it. Kids were in heaven. Meals were good choices.

Memories Flamenco Beach Resort: What a disappointment.

We were not notified that the beach was under construction. More importantly we were booked in Bungalow #1 in Oceanview Diamond Club which overlooked this mess! After 8 days we finally got moved to Bungalow #5.
