Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Enjoyed our stay - would go back again

We stayed at the El Portillo in early March. This was the second time that we stayed there, and we would go back again. The hotel itself is very family oriented. Clean rooms. If there is a problem, the staff is more than happy to try to accommodate your needs. The grounds are immaculate. The beach was long so that you could walk for quite a ways. If you enjoy snorkelling, this is a great beach for that as there are lots of fish just steps away from your lounge chair! There are vendors that come  [... read more]on the beach, but if you tell them "No thank you", they will leave you alone. The staff couldn't do enough for you. We enjoyed our time with David "Spaghetty" from the entertainment team. He was awesome! Eucliddes from the beach bar was a lot of fun as well......."Excellente!" There were so many staff members that made our stay memorable from the beach entertainment to the restaurants to the bar area to the nightly entertainment. All is all, we had an excellent experience and we look forward to going back again next year!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Friendly staff

The resort itself was awesome, but the way you are treated is incredible. The staff are so friendly and so helpful when it comes to anything, making the trip that much better. The beach is beautiful and the pools are just perfect

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Would not go back.

The pools, grounds and food was good. The service, cleaniness of room and beach not so good. The flight with Air Transit not so good. Bought the Option Plus upgrade and then had to prove that I had it. They were assuming I was trying to lie. Was not too impressed

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort, but limited at night

This resort had some great food and was very clean. The beach was pristine. However the pools and beach are all closed after dark and there was not much to do in the evening. I would highly suggest more available at night.

Overall the hotel was great! The rooms were pretty standard but they were clean! The service was good not great and the food was good...great selection! The hotel was quite far from the beach but they do have carts to carry you! The grounds were good...well taken care of ! The kids club was good but didn't think there was a lot of supervision! I wouldn't leave my 4 year old there alone!

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Great Resort

Would highly recommend the Adults-only Ambar for couples. It's a resort within a resort at the expansive Bahia property. Rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable and have large bathrooms (although a little dark). The Ambar is located closest to the beautiful golden sand beach. The beach is clean and we never had any issues getting a beach chair, though I'd recommend getting down there before 7:30 a.m if you want a spot up front. It can get a little loud at times so if you're looking for a quiet, relaxing alternative, I'd recommend going over to the Ambar II. It's a very large, winding, beautiful pool, with a swim up bar and a sushi bar. The grounds of the Bahia are absolutely gorgeous and well mained by the hard working grounds staff. The Ambar's walkways are really pretty. If you're looking for nice spots for pictures, this is the place and I'd also get over to the Esmerelda section for more of the same. Food: If you are looking for gourmet food, you might be disappointed, but for a carribean resort, it's pretty good. There are countless restaurants on the Bahia property, including 7 or 8 at the Ambar alone. Although you have access to all the Buffets on the property, the Ambar is the best...its the largest, has the best selection (something for everyone) and the food is good and plentiful for breakfast lunch and dinner. A la Carte restaurants are really good. We went to Portofino (Italian), Maiko (Japanese), Rodizio (Brazilian), Don Pablo (Gourmet), the outdoor BBQ (Grill) and El Olivio (Meditaranian). All were excellent, especially the Japanese show cooking dinner. Book your a la carte restaurants as soon as you get there! Or, better yet, you can e-mail or call ahead of your trip and make requests. If you hesitate, you may be disappointed as they get booked up quickly and are some are closed on certain nights. We found the staff extremely friendly and polite and provided great service. These people work extremely hard, and are always smiling but do not make a lot of money. So even though your package might say "Tips included," be sure to tip these people, even a couple of bucks here and there. It not only is appreciated by them, it makes a big difference in their lives and they will give you even better service than normal. Overall, this is a very nice resort and I would highly recommend it. Esmerelda is also great part of this resort if you are travelling with kids or don't mind the added commotion that kids will naturally create.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Amazing Resort!

It was almost perfect! Only issue was the offered 24/7 free internet we never received in the room only in the lobby. Nice polite staff, clean, very well maintained resort all the way! Transportation, food varieties and quality was great! We will go back!

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Great resort!

The resort was beautiful! Weather couldn't have been any better. Food excellent, service was great, all the employees at the resort were so pleasant and cheerful; always smiling. The evening shows were a lot of fun and so were the beach activities.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Coba Disappointed

Second trip to Coba in 2 years, disappointed in what is now "Coba Beach" beach huts in NEED of repair to provide shade, seaweed cleanup lasted well into mid morning. Last year able to use Ackmual beach which is sandy very little seaweed and buffet for convenience, this year restricted so much more back and forth to Tulum/Coba for lunches etc. With Coba orange bracelet was denied access at Tulum lunch buffet as hostess said beach cover-up over full one piece suit was too short.........at the same [... read more] time a guest with a see through wrap and thong suit breezed into the buffet......... I totally felt our Coba bracelets was the reason for the denied access. We insisted the hostess be reasonable when we saw the see through cover-up and then the hostess let us into the buffet......very upset & disappointed!!!! Package supposed to have upgrade to "Golden Lobby " first 3 days requested Diet Coke in our mini fridge with no success, also stopped for beach towels (part of upgrade) however unavailable. After visit in 2014 nothing but great things to say encouraged friends to join us in 2015 however 2015 trip was a huge disappointment so will not be returning.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Awesome Resort for families and couples

Grounds keeping was top notch. the gardens are always spectacular and always being worked on. Pool - we spent our time at the Ambar Pool - part of the Don Paublo Collection adults only section. the Esmerelda pool is clean and large but we wanted to be away from all the children. A La Cartes - excellent, plentiful with attentive staff Buffet - Esmerelda has 2 to choose from both were great with lots of choices for any palet. Bars - plentiful, friendly, entertaining

Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Amazing resort and for sure one I would recommend

The grounds, hotel, rooms and dining areas were all top rated and I would for sure go back to the Ambar. The food at all the buffets are top quality but some of the a la carte restaurants are surprising questionable and would not go back. We did however cannot get into the the Don Pablo restuarant and did not understand how we cannot get any reservations for the duration of our stay.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Definately a 5 Star Resort

The attention to detail by the hotel staff was excellent and the quality of the food in the restaurants on the Sian Ka'an site was amazing. There was no issue with the beach being located at the other Grand Bahia resorts as the transportation was always available if required but due to the excellent pool facilities we felt no need to leave the Sian Ka'an. Bahia Principe Escape Ambar: Very nice resort. Our second time at the Ambar.

All the features of the resort were great. Clean and well maintained property. The rooms were nice, and the staff was always very professional and helpful. The beach was clean and there were lots of areas to sit in the shade. Lots of beverages and the food was great.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Great place to relax!

The resort was great, worthwhile going over to Bacardi Island, absolutely beautiful! If you take a water taxi from the scuba shack on the beach be prepared to get wet, really wet! Alex on the animation crew is a lot of fun! Make sure you check out the pools at the garden rooms, it is open to everyone at the resort, not many people seem to know this because the gate has security guard at it, they think it is not part of the resort.

Bahia Principe Escape Runaway Bay: Beautiful, clean resort!

We stayed at the Gran Bahia Principe Runaway Bay from May 2 to May 9 for a wedding. We had a wonderful time. The resort was beautiful - nicest one I've ever stayed at. The service was exquisite, all staff were very pleasant and attentive- appreciated tips but we're by no means pushy about them. Pool was warm and clean. Rooms were very nice. We stayed in a room near the new construction but barely noticed. It wasn't disruptive to us at all- even for afternoon siestas! There was no wifi in our roo [... read more]ms or by the pool unless we paid for it. However, it was nice to be disconnected for the week. When we wanted to check in at home we went to the lounge for free wifi. The food was so good everywhere- the buffet and each of the a la carte restaurants. The wedding was beautiful and so much fun. It was a little windy everyday but that kept it from feeling too hot. I would definitely recommend this resort to anyone!

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Awesome resort!

My boyfriend and I went to the Grand Bahia Principe Tullum April 28-May2 for a quick getaway. It was his first all-inclusive experience so I wanted it to be a positive experience for him. I contacted the resort ahead of time to make arrangements to celebrate his birthday. The resort accommodated our requests and ensured all our needs were met. Service was excellent. Food was great and plenty. We will definitely return.

Good food, clean facilities, great beach, friendly staff. We were short on towels and our fridge wasn't always rwstocked, but we got good service as soon as we called down to the front desk. Overall we had a great time!

I did not pick this resort as it was picked for a wedding our son was in ..our whole family decided to go...we were in awe of the resort ..lovely resort ..great rooms ..fabulous food ..we will come again.

Bahia Principe Explore El Portillo: Very clean and relaxing

Beach was very nice but windy in the afternoon, had to move to the pool area. Food was excellent, plenty of selection. Staff was happy and friendly but English speaking staff was difficult to find. Did not like the fact that you had to pay for safety box.

Great resort at an affordable price.We enjoyed every day here.Mainly we just relaxed enjoyed great food,soaked up the sun ,met interesting people.the staff was very friendly and accomodating. My only complaint was the resort was selling time share vacations and the sales women were persistent ,beautiful , but persistent.
