Melia Las Americas: Great beach-Great people

Had a super time. Walk out the main lobby and a few steps and you are on a glorious beach. Food was good and service was great. We did not golf, but if you are a golfer, this the the place to be. A beautiful course right beside the resort. We will return.

Memories Jibacoa: "Bad Memories Jibacoa"

Very bad experience at this resort between Dec.3,2017 and Dec.10,2017. Right after arriving an the airport, the first bad impression at women washrooms: the janitor didn't`t let you use the facilities until you tipped her. Second:Beach area infested with Jelly fish ( Portuguese Man of War) and no awareness, no signs and no beach staff to prevent or give advise about first aid in case of bitten.If you are not close to the shore, there is no equipment ( sea doo, board or boat) to take you out o [... read more]f the water. Do your homework about jelly fish before going there( what to do in case got bitten: do not remove the jelly from your skin, pour vinegar in order to detach it from your skin and to avoid breaking the vesicles with toxins. Those toxins give you unbearable pain.Pour or immerse the affected area immediately in very warm water.Antihistaminic treatment is indicated. ) There is a medical office on the grounds, and one of the male nurse Joungedran,is very well trained and able to give you first aid. Medical consultation and treatment must be paid and patient is receiving a receipt. After informing the resort management about the Jelly fish awareness signs, they were posted on the same day. Manager excuse was : didn't have Jelly fish in the water in the last 3 years; they re-appeared "only in April 2017". And since April , nobody , no resort management and no travel agencies staff ,considered important to inform tourists/ make them aware about the risk of Jelly Fish? Another unpleasant situation, at dinning area : fresh meat and grill. On the ice, on display , were exposed slices of fresh pork, beef and chicken meat, but in reality , you received only small pieces of beef of 2/2/0.5 inches, no pork chops, and chicken only same size pieces with no meat , only bones. Majority of them were old, from previous meals and barely reheated on the grill.In seven days there , didn't see on the grill( or stew) a whole piece of chicken breast, drumstick or thigh, or pork chops. But I did see, on a daily basis, nice pieces of pork chops and chicken on the grill , that were taken by staff in the kitchen. Management staff informed, but the situation continued. So, instead of Memories Jibacoa, this resort should be named "Nightmares Jibacoa."

Memories Jibacoa: Great Resort

A very good, quiet, enclosed resort in an excellent location. Not stupid big or busy or crowded. Bring a snorkel and beach shoes and see the reef! Unlike Varadero the beach is only a few hundred yards long. Havana is only an hour away. Lots (or nothing if you choose) to do with an excellent staff.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Nice hotel. What you would expect of a 3.5 star

The hotel itself is older but they continue to spruce it up. Layout of property was excellent. The beach volley ball nets are in excellent condition and very solid. The beach of course is beautiful. The pool and deck area are very well maintained.

Roc Barlovento: Really something, nice resort

Everything was almost perfect, friendly staff and managers where ever You are on the resort. The location is great,close to markets and small stores and bars. Good value for price compare to other resorts.

Resonance Blu Varadero: Decent resort

Beautiful grounds and amazing gardens. We did the Diamond Club and were glad we did. Our room had issues with a very noisey A/C and Fan. No screen on the balcony door. Bed / Mattress was absolutely terrible. Told customer service and they swapped it but again was terrible sleeping on springs. They also said they fixed the A/C fan noise but got worse as the week went along. Side note; had met a couple there whom had the ceiling fall on her while they slept at 3 am. Beach had unsightly ATV tire tracks all over and lots of seaweed strewn about. Not very clean - was disappointed. Food was decent for Cuba. Staff were really great and friendly. Gardeners work very hard and fixed them up with gifts. Overall it was ok for Cuba. Would not return here for sure. My wife and I been to Cuba 5 times so we know what to expect. Wouldn’t recommend this resort.

Roc Barlovento: Roc Barlovento November 2017

This was my second visit to this hotel and will definitely return. The grounds are always clean and the food is good. The Mexican restaurant is very good has for the Fusion Restaurant average. The breakfast buffet is very good bacon every morning that’s a plus, dinner buffet is average . The staff are amazing always smiling and saying hola too you. The beach is very nice and clean. Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great week!

We were very impressed with the hotel. The facilities and staff were great. Using the voucher program we had our room upgraded to an ocean view for $20(total). They were replacing all the matresses the week we were there, so got a brand new mattress. We didnt think ‘Royal Service’ was worth the extra cost it would have been $800 or so to upgrade for a week. Food was excellent and they do have bottled sauces available.

Sol Varadero Beach: Ouch

When we arrived there was no one in the lobby, except three guys trying to help an impaired woman onto an elevator. Once the reception staff arrived the booking in process was quick and easy. There were no available directions to the room, so we wound up tipping when it wasnt necessary. The bell boy had many currencies in many denominations and was quite willing to give us change. In the room the bathroom door didn't open all the way, the closet bi-fold doors were missing half the hardware so th [... read more]e only safe thing to do was to leave them open. The patio door didn't close all the way and the curtain rod was bent. We went to the 24 hr snack bar, where there was an incredibly dirty deep fryer and pizza oven. The staff were nice and polite. In the morning we went to the buffet, the only coffee available was in a machine. Thank goodness for the omelet/egg stand. The breads were all reheated from frozen and all the other foods were just laying on tables open to the birds. Everywhere there was chipped paint and cracked and broken tiles. We had drinks at all the bars, but none of the slush machines actually made slush, it was just cold water. There was a strange odor emanating from the toilet in the room. There was a nice selection of market huts and the pool was clean, but only waist deep. On the second day we upgraded to another resort.

Muthu Playa Varadero: Loved my vacay!!!

The rooms are a bit old and could use some updating such as doors. The staff was great and accommodating. The food was great, no complaints there at all. The bar staff were very pleasant and put up with a lot of crap from crabby customers to very obnoxious customers, must commend them for being able to put up with all of this. Had some good laughs with the bar staff, especially when the one forgot to put the lid on blender for pina colada's. All in all I would go there again.

Roc Arenas Doradas: Nice hotel, friendly staff..

This hotel is very nice, friendly staff, a lot of Food and drink options. There is a free bus into town and back everyday. It is very clean, they give you a big bottle of water everyday. Nice pool and beach. First time in Cuba was a good experience.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus Princesa Del Mar in Varadero

We stayed at Paradisus Princesa Del Mar in Varadero 7 days and we had a wonderful time. Beautiful hotel, very clean, rooms are big, excellent food and of course I should say that Cuban people are the most friendly people in the world, they are warm and I believe that CUBA is one the safe place. They have the best beaches. I also have to thanks Angela for her services ( Travel Agent).

Valentin El Patriarca Varadero: Great Resort

Great resort. Excellent customer service, clean spacious room. Great for people with limited mobility, short walk to pool and beach area, or you can call for electric cart. Very good food for Cuba You are not limited in number of alacarte s The beach is beautiful, lots of new loungers.

Hotel Los Cactus: Beach great, Moldy room

The beach was incredible you can walk for a very long time and enjoy the ocean. The staff at the hotel we are very accommodating helpful and pleasant the grounds crew work very hard and the Landscaping is very nice. You always hear that the food in Cuba sucks but this place the food was good. Of the resort itself is showing some signs of age but still do some place to go. The downside is our room was so full of mold on the curtains on the ceiling on the lights door unfortunately our room is not  [... read more]the only one like this.

Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Beautiful Resort!!!

The grounds of the resort were exceptionally well kept...bathrooms were spotless.. the beach was huge!! The service was fantastic at all the bars.. the restaurants were amazingly delicious..especially the Japanese!! We had some terrific servers... Fernando at Marseile.. Rigo in the main buffet.. the best was the lady who made our omlettes in the main buffet!! Leo who helped with everything!!

Club Tropical: Club Tropical

We spent the week of Nov.30th to Dec.9,2017 at Club Tropical. We found a really cheap deal and decided to try out Varadero. The staff was exceptional. We noticed no preference was given to any quest. Everyone was served with the same courtesy, which was nice to see. The grounds were maintained and the pool cleaned daily. The food was repetitious but we expected that as it is Cuba. The snack bar was limited to serving a ham and cheese sandwich or a hot dog (1/2 wiener). The liquor at the bars [... read more] were not watered down as they do in Mexico The room's walls and ceilings are in need of a good scrub. The bed, floor and bathroom was cleaned daily. It was fine for us for one week but not for two weeks. Regardless we had a very pleasant stay.

Starfish Jibacoa: very nice resort

all was good.for what i paid it was an ideal vacation. the resort was clean and well kept. staff was helpful and pleasant beach and pool were nice .iwill recommend this resort and i will go again. .

Royalton Hicacos Resort and Spa: Great Beach

Resort and service are top notch,food is good always find something to eat.Beach is the best , butler service was wonderful helped plan events and booked dinner. Bar service was great drinks were tasty and not watered down would go back

Sirenis Tropical Varadero: Good resort for the money you pay

It was a second time in this resort. Beach was still amazing. Room was clean, food was OK, don't expect lobsters. Internet access not very good. Staff was very polite and helpful. Just remember that it is not 5 stars.

Melia Peninsula Varadero: Coming Alive Again!

The hotel is working hard to restore itself back to original, after the hit by hurricane Irma. Activities were limited at first, but gradually animation team went into action, as more guests arrived. Buffet at beginning was breakfast only, then supper too, as our week went on. Beach and pool restaurants were always in operation. Food variety increased, too. A la cartes were fantastic! Pools ..great one for kids and a large beautiful divided one with swim up bar on one side for anyone. Bartenders and wait staff attentive and friendly. Know some had not had work for 3 months, due to the damage to the hotel. Glad to be back, for sure! Wish them well. Would return in the future.
