Barcelo Maya Riviera: Vegas style resort
If you like the modern minimalist look this resort is for you. The rooms are outstanding, the food is very good with lots of choice and the service is excellent and friendly. For dinner the French and Mexican restaurants are the best. Swim shoes are a must as there are lots of exposed and broken coral in the water. Lots of fish so goggles and a snorkel would be a good thing to pack.
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Great Resort!
Good rooms, decent food, beautiful grounds, fantastic staff, the gym needs some work a couple of broken machines and the floor is slippery. The a la cartes are good, avoid the Gourmet (not that great), Mediterranean is really good and the Hibatchi was one of the best I've ever had!!!
El Cid Resort Castilla: loved the El Cid Castilla resort
Cleanest, friendliest, resort ever stayed in. When anything went wrong they fixed it. They cared. They began working early in the morning and never stopped, such hard working people with smiles on their faces.
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Akumal did not disappoint !!
Everything was perfect starting with our booking with Carole Williams from trip central who made it flawless for us , check in was less then 15 min. greeted with sparkling wine. This being our second time to Akumal we really enjoyed upgrading to the adults section where the rooms come with a huge whirlpool tub ,adults only infinity pool overseeing the ocean. Beaches are absolutely amazing , the man made barriers made for calm waters no matter what the conditions were , snorkeling was an every d [... read more]
Dreams Huatulco: A definite Dream!!!
This hotel, grounds, staff, food and drinks were far superior to any resort we have been to. A definite dream destination that we would return to anytime. We travelled with our 9 year old daughter and felt very safe and she loved everything about it.
Barcelo Maya Colonial: Bercelo Maya Colonial
This was our third time to this resort since 2014. We have found that since that time there seems to be less and less service after each subsequent visit. The towels in the rooms feel like sandpaper rather than the luxurious towels we had in 2014. They seem to hang on to the towels until they're ready to fall apart. The food at the pool was somewhat boring as the same offers were available day after day. We stayed at the Colonial but the food at the Caribe seemed to be much better with more vari [... read more]
Riu Palace Costa Mujeres: Fantastic resort!
We really loved the way the resort was layed out. All of the extra amenities such as pools and restaurants were kept to the beach end of the resort, so where ever you decided to go there wasnt a ton of walking to do. Yet it was in no way crowded. There was always loungers at the pool no matter what time of day you got there.
Riu Emerald Bay: Amazing
We stayed at the Riu Emetald Bay from Feb 4 to Feb 18 2020. This is a beautiful place I think the cleanest weve ever been to. The bus ride from airport is about 35 min and Sunwing gives you your welcome chit chat on bus so no meeting the following day which is a big bonus. The checkin with Sunwing was quick and painless.10 minutes at most to get your room key and up to your room. The service in all aspects of the resort extraordinary. We had a deluxe junior suite oceanview with a double balco [... read more]
Villablanca Huatulco: It is a GEM
Our first visit to the Villablanca 3rd time in Huatulco. We fell in love with this little resort. Everything was to our liking from the pool to the morning buffet. We did not use the beach club. But visited a lot of the local beach's. The location of the resort is perfect close to everything. Many good restaurants in the area. We ate many meals at the resort the food served for lunch and supper were excellent. I am looking forward to are next visit. NOTE...This is an older crowd.
Grand Riviera Princess: Great resort
Large resort with great pools and beaches. Food was good. A la cartes were great. Staff was very friendly throughout the whole resort. Rooms were nice. Could use a bit of an update on the rooms and hotel itself.
NYX Hotel Cancun: Quaint resort
Just got back from our Feb 5 stay at the NYX. The rooms are quite nice and modern and bathrooms were very large and shower was very large as well. We stayed in building 2 fifth floor sunset suite room looking over the lagoon and had beautiful sunset views . The food was very good. Especially in the Chianti Italian and Umami Asian. You do not need a reservation to eat at the Asian restaurant. They have a wonderful menu of sushi and asian dishes. If you want to have the chefs cook in front of you [... read more]
Grand Palladium Vallarta: Amazing Resort
This resort is totally amazing. Very clean and spacious rooms. Excellent food and amazing beach. Pools were heated and fabulous. Lots of lounge chairs with shade. The shows were okay. The staff were super friendly and always there to help. I highly recommend this resort to anyone who is looking for a relaxing getaway.
Atelier Playa Mujeres: One Word...STUNNING!
After a 12 hour flight delay we were thrilled to finally arive. Let me tell you, this resort was worth the wait! Check-in was seamless...arriving at 4:00am, we wern't sure what to expect, but they had us through check-in and up to our room in no time at all. The room...WOW! It was everything and more! Pictures do not do it justice. The bed and pillows were super comfy. The bathroom was Stunning! The bath, the receding walls, every detail is well thought out. We had an Ocean-view King Su [... read more]
Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Fantastic Resort
Very beautiful and clean resort. Having access to the 3 other resorts on the Bahia Principe grounds is a bonus. The only negative is that the resort does not allow the rooms to go lower that 22 degrees which was uncomfortable to sleep in.
Barcelo Maya Caribe: Fantastic time
The hotel was very clean and well kept. by far the best sleep I have had on a vacation the mattress was very comfortable. Food at buffet was decent but the Ala carte food was amazing. Pools are very clean ocean is warm but bring ur aqua Sox’s lots of Coral
Grand Sunset Princess: Had a good time - travlled with family
This resport was huge and we've stayed at many big reports before. First time in Mexico and travelled with 2 kids and parents. Beach was great compared to neighbours and many many pools. Rooms are sizable, beds kind of hard. Lots of restaurants, buffets and food was good, nothing to rave about. Lots of selection. Great drinks all day and good coffee. The service was impeccable.
Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Everything was fine
The resort was clean, rooms and grounds. It was a very large resort so you waste a lot of time walking or waiting for a golf cart to take you where you need to go. It was a fun atmosphere at the pool, but not very relaxing because staff were constantly walking around trying to get you to buy a massage or a tattoo, and music was constantly playing. The food wasn't amazing but there was nothing wrong with it either. Nothing fantastic but no complaints either.
El Dorado Royale: Beautiful Resort
We loved this resort, the grounds are amazing and loved all the pools and water everywhere. The only disappointment was all the uncharges, I had a massage that was great, but after paying double what I would pay at home they scented massage oil was an uncharge... should have been included. This happened in all areas, food and drink etc.
The Sens Riviera: Crowded and exclusionary
Arrived at the property in the late evening and was not offered a welcome drink and hot towel that was included at check in. Was given a room in Dino land that was a mile away from the ocean. However we did get a room change so that was nice. My main concern and reason why I will not recommend or return to this resort is that when yousee the photos and read the package description has it included 5 pools and and use of the beach. When we arrived we were told that we could not use the bulk of th [... read more]
Park Royal Beach Huatulco: Park Royal Hotel in Huatulco
My first impression of the hotel.... nobody was there to greet us. I was very disappointed. First time that this has ever happened to us. We carried our own luggage up the stairs. Hotel is located in the side of a mountain/hill. Lots and lots of stairs. No elevators. The hotel provided rides up and down to your room and to the beach area. The rooms were nice and spacious. You will get lots of exercise staying at the Park Royal. The food was nothing great. Wasn’t happy with really any of it. To [... read more]
