Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Beautiful & Relaxing

The resort was really nice. Lots of choices for the food. Jerk chicken is amazing. I read all the reviews prior to going and we had no issues. We were on the top floor and it does have the best view but the air conditioning was not great but it did cool us down. If you like a long beach to walk upon this is not what you are looking for. Snorkeling was not the best but we did see some. Take a small water bottle full of bread and water and squeeze and fish will come to you. It is a lot of walking but once you find the short cuts its easy plus it helps to wear off all the food and drinks you have. Take high level sun screen you burn easy there.The catermeran & Duns River Fall trip was great was well worth taking. Lots of activity at the resort if you want to get involved. Stay clear of the time share ladies, the are very pushy. My husband and I loved the place and would recommend. Trip Central provides you contact numbers if something goes wrong, we did not need to use it but it is a comfort knowing they are there to help.

Bahia Principe Grand Bavaro: One of the best!!

Been to this resort many times and will return again. Compared to other resorts one of the best, it never disappoints. Staff are friendly and very helpfull. Rooms, pools, resturants etc are kept in tip top condition.

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Wonderful Resort.

This was an awesome resort. We have traveled to Mexico 4 previous times and this was by far our favorite. Clean rooms, grounds and public areas. The buffet food was excellent with lots of variety. Tried two a la cartes which we enjoyed. The pool was like bath water and never found it crowded or difficult to find a lounge. Yes there is lots of walking if your room is not near the main lobby. Staff all courteous, friendly and helpful. The only downside was the 1 1/2 hour bus ride from the airport to the resort. But the bus was comfortable with no incessant talking by the tour people.

Bahia Principe Grand Samana Roulette: Absolute Paradise, Best Vacation Ever!

Grand Bahia Principe Samana was absolute paradise, it was a beautiful resort, very clean and well taken care of. The beach was small but there was a catamaran tour that took you to a white sand beach for the day and it was totally worth it. The best place to be all day was the pool as there were activities scheduled and the staff were absolutely fantastic and there to entertain you. Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Incredible adventures await!

If you are looking for the perfect vacation with lots of relaxing and tons of adventure then look no further! This resort has it all from poolside drinks to quick trips to great sights and fun. The food was better than any buffet in Edmonton and the drinks were just as good. I have no complaints about the service, everything was perfect.

Bahia Principe Explore Jamaica: Both Good and Bad

The staff was hard-working, which made this overall a good experience. However, we dad to wait 1 1/2 hours past check-in for our room for no explicable reason. If it wasn't for Orando at the front desk we would have had to wait longer. Ended up getting in our room at almost 5 pm and our safe wasn't working (the handle wouldn't turn). At that point I was so frustrated I was almost in tears. We called maintenance and based on previous reviews were expecting quite a wait but to our surprise a worke [... read more]r showed up within ten minutes and fixed it. With the late entry to our room, we ended up losing most of our first day there, which was quite disappointing. Just enough time for a quick dip in the pool, which was fantastic. We were invited to the steakhouse by one of the workers while in the pool and ate there that night; the buffet stuff was just average but I had the salmon on the waiter's recommendation, which I really enjoyed (small portion but the appetizers and dessert are buffet style). The food overall was just average. I'm not a picky eater, but my friend is and she had trouble finding things she could eat. Some things looked good but didn't taste so great; most of the desserts are super sweet, even for someone who likes sweet stuff. Would recommend the Orchid buffet over the Palmyra as there are more choices and we found the service to be better. The outdoor lunch buffet was generally good - make sure you look at your jerk chicken before walking away because my friend's was pink (uncooked) inside. In my opinion, the best meal was at the Mikado (Japanese restaurant) - the sushi appetizer wasn't so good but the teppanyaki of various meats, veggies, and rice was great. Drinks were plentiful and we didn't feel the cups were too small as some previous vacationers have mentioned. The grounds were immaculate and the beach was great (the walk to the 'good' beach is really not as far as people make it seem - took us five minutes). That part of the beach has two separate bars that are close to the chairs, and yes there are people in the water selling souvenirs but they aren't a bother. We found them entertaining. We never had trouble finding free loungers at any time of the day at the beach, but at the pool the only free loungers were in the direct sun. Speaking of, bring SPF 60 or above and make sure you slather it on. I have an olive skin tone and was burned pretty badly within the first day - a week later still recouping. The staff generally provided great service; bartenders are hilarious. The women at the front desk always look like they couldn't be bothered, and the premium club women harass people as they walk through the lobby - we started avoiding it on the second day for that reason. We tried saying no politely, beating around the bush, being direct - none of it worked. If I said no the first five times I'm not interested! They really need to work on that. Our room keys stopped working twice - not so good when it's late at night and we wanted in the room. Was a simple fix at the front desk but again the staff there aren't so friendly. Overall I would stay here again if the price was right, but there are better deals to be had in Jamaica. Shop around!

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: very nice, not 5 stars, but 41/2

Rented superior penthouse which was worth the extra price.The hotel was very nice. The staff was excellent. The food was excellent but very hot in the buffet area because A.C. not adequate. Unfortunately, the hotel was not built to receive as many people for the entertainment space it has. No chairs at the pools by 8:00 am., beach umbrellas by 9:00 am. Spa excellent. Problems with one of the A.C. in my room for 5 days, but compensate with 2 free 1 hour spas which was very appreciated and more th [... read more]an fair. Fuentos was an excellent butler and tried his best when I had problems. Room service was amazing, food was excellent, arrived hot and always within 1/2 hr. after placing order. Service at the bars was always done with a smile, quickly and were very polite. Service at the beach was hit and miss most of the time. They would come 4 times in 20 mins. then nobody for 1-2 hrs. That is why I say it is 4.5 stars and not 5 as they advertise it. This is my 12th time in 4 different Bahia's.

Bahia Principe Explore Esmeralda: Beautiful grounds and friendly staff

We just returned home from a week at the Esmeralda. The staff is very friendly and accommodating, the grounds are lovely and the beach is one of the nicest I have seen. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is looking for an all inclusive resort that caters to families and couples.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Grand Bahia Principe San Jan

Over all, this was a pretty good resort. If you are looking for a place to go on a family vacation, this is the resort to go to. Very kid friendly, clean, rooms are a decent size, wide variety of food.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Everything excellent except the beach!

EXCELLENT, food, service, cleanliness, lobby, ability to go to other three resorts (Akumal, Tulum and Coba) GOOD, rooms AVERAGE, the beach and all the pools are shallow (max 5 feet). I like diving, but you cannot do it here. I suggest you take a taxi for full day (1500 pesos), go to Tulum ruins, swim in the beaytiful wavy beach (2-3 hours) and then go to cenotes Sac Actun (1.5 hours) in the morning and after lunch (you can come back to the resort) go to Akumal beach and Playa del Carmen.

Bahia Principe Grand San Juan: Overall Good Resort

When we stayed at the Bahia Principe, the people were amazing as well as the grounds. We found everything to be pretty clean but I found my bed to be quiet dusty. The food was pretty good in the buffet, a bit repetitive but the a la cartes did not live up to the expectations. We did have a very fun trip and there was lots to do on the resort. It was an hour and 30 minutes from the airport which to me is too far.

The Eurostars Grand Cayacoa: Beautiful View

First time to Samana and the views were very beautiful from hotel over looking the ocean. The resort is on a cliff so you need to take elevator to beach... Beach was not that big and like most other resorts, had to get there early to 'reserve' chairs. ( oh I forgot you can't reserve...ya right! ) There is also another beach on the other side of the resort, but the water looked kind of muddy from the waves. Lots of stairs to get around resort, so if you have health problems where that might affec [... read more]t you, might want to consider another resort. Food at buffett was not always the hottest, but you could always find something good to eat. We only went to one of the 3 restaurants...La Orquidea and it was very good...we were surprised at how good the beef was. We were surprised at some of the staff not speaking english, considering that many people that travel there are from Canada or US. Really was not a problem and actually had some fun conversing. Not sure if we would go back, not because of the staff or food, and even though the views are amazing, the beach just didn't cut it for us.

Bahia Principe Explore Punta Cana: Group Trip for Wedding Gone Wrong

The grounds were we kept and lovely. Have stayed at other 5* in Dominican that the rooms were much nicer and had better housekeeping services. Some in our group had issues getting towels and toilet paper. 2 rooms in our group flooded and staff were not helpful and even tried to move my 89 year old grandparents to a second floor room even though they can't do stairs, someone in our group had to give up their room for my grandparents. Every issue we had the staff said "not my problem", even though [... read more] we had paid for the Royal Club Golden for extra services. They also did not want to honour a spa discount they advertised and wanted our passports in order to change the amount for the spa services. We had 34 people stay there for our wedding and we hoped it would be a good experience and memory but we were left with utter disapointment.

Grounds were well kept. The beach was fabulous and there was plenty of shade and sunny spots. We didn't have any problems finding lounge chairs on the beach and spent every day there. Wonderful ocean breezes kept the temperatures from being stifling. Our room was very nice and the maid made sure it was done early in case we wanted a siesta. There were plenty of towels, however, face clothes were harder to come by. I recommend you bring some of your own (in case). Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: Best trip ever, will book again

Hotel beautiful!!!! People wonderful. Food the best I have ever had on vacation.!!!!!!will book 2 weeks next year. Can't wait to go back. We did not utilize the butler service, but next time will use them to help book a la carte dinners. long drive from the airport but cold beer on the bus. Entertainment hit and miss, best night was the live band night. We love to dance. Would highly recommend this hotel!!!!

Bahia Principe Explore Akumal: nice resort

The hotel and grounds were very clean and well maintained, buffet food was great lots of choices. Down side lots of young children very noisy and out all hours and in all areas of resort. Husband slipped on pool stairs seen several people slip and fall, mentioned it to hotel front desk staff. this has been my 3rd time to this resort and have mentioned the stairs and a railing needed.

Bahia Principe Explore Coba: Our Wedding

We had an awesome time the Bahia Principe Coba. We held our wedding at the Tulum part of the resort and the wedding team was great, anything and everything we needed they were happy to do for us. I would stay at this resort again. All the staff was nice expect for Brenda the manager of the Royal Golden Club. She was rude and not very helpful at all. Overall a great experience

I just returned from trip at the grand bahia. This resort is huge and you can visit the other resorts which i thought was great. The grounds were kept very clean, hotel was perfect everytime we returned. The workers were amazingly friendly and hard workers! Food was awesome with lots to choose from. I just felt like there could be more music or entertainment going on. More of a family resort. The beach was nice but they were constantly working on the seaweed. This resort was very big. lots of walking. he grounds are very beautiful but resort is a little dated. Definitely needs new furniture in lobby and lounges. Rooms are large but in need of maintenance. Our shower leaked, air conditioning dripped in room continuously (had to leave towel on floor until maintenance could come) ceiling pot lights kept falling out and dangling, Food and staff were excellent.
