Melia Las Dunas: Amasing Cuban Infusion
Great beach, great coffee, lively entertainment and surprisingly good food ;))) Would come back in a heartbeat… Although a family resort, the division of pools into adults and family on opposite sides of the resort makes for a nice balance, allowing a break to those tired parents in need for some moments of quietude…
Tryp Cayo Coco: Amazing, fun, lots of entrainment
I traveled solo and had an excellent trip. My request for a different room was immediately done. New room was right on main floor at main pool area, close to all annenities. All employees were helpful and also had a smile. Excellent resort with 24 hour snack bar, never could go hungry or without a drink of water or beer, etc.
Sol Cayo Coco: LOVED IT
Had a fantastic time at Sol Cayo coco rooms were a bit dated but CLEAN air worked fine and hot water always, beautiful view over the mini golf of the Ocean. Resort is smaller than most in the past but so easy to get around you are near everything, the staff makes this resort you are all amazing!!! The only complaint... I found the food not hot enough only luke warm at best but always found something to eat. Overall good value for the Canadian dollar would return in a heart beat.
Melia Marina Varadero: As good as the first time...
Our second visit in the last year. The change we noticed is that all the boutiques are now open and the place looks complete. Same staff as last year. We were upgraded because it was our second visit. All the a-la-carte were improved service wise. All amenities worked as they should so we had no bad surprises. Do not be concerned about the beach location (over the bridge) because you can walk or take the frequent golf carts. The beach is physically closer to your room than other resorts that are [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Paradisus Princess Del Mar
Nothing special. Just nice. Pool was ordinary, beach beautiful Japanese restarant amazing. Staff excellent. Entertainment and activities not great, except for illusionist and water ballet. Lacking tropical drinks at swim up bar
Tryp Cayo Coco: Good Quality for the price
Beach and pools were very nice! Rooms were quite outdated, but clean. Food was typically cold and the same each night. I have been to Cuba several times before, so I am well aware of the tasteless food, but this was probably the worst I have had so far. Older resort workers were very friendly and helpful - however found front desk to be a little rude as well as the beach bartenders. Was nice quick trip from the airport. Very "touristy" area. Overall, the resort was fine - but I will not return t [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: GREAT!
I was here for my friends Wedding. It was just a short trip but I would for sure go back to this resort. Staff was friendly, the food was good and the resort was beautiful. Would go back here in a heartbeat!
Melia Las Dunas: just fair, we only stayed two nites and moved
the grounds were beautiful, the rooms need work, and food was fair, entertainment awesome! the hotel for rooms and food need some TLC. The beach had a lot of seaweed which is natural but they didn't attempt to clean.
Paradisus Punta Cana: very nice resort
Beautiful well kept grounds, Very good food. Service was not up to 5 star standing. The higher the tipping, the better the service. There were a lot of small issues that needed addressing - examples - no hand towels in rooms, bar fridge not being restocked, no security safes in rooms as advertised.
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Not bad
This is our 13th to Cuba, 10 of them to Varadero. We love Varadero as it is a short plane ride, quick ride to the hotels and just love the Cuban people. We usually stay at Royal Hicacos but it was sold out so we wanted another Adult only resort and thought that Princessa Del Mar and the Paradisus name would prove to be awesome. I think if you stay in the Royal section, you might better enjoy your stay. There were 6 of us. They did accommodate our rooms being side by side so that was nice however [... read more]
Melia Cayo Coco: Staff made the resort awesome
Really enjoyed this resort. This resort needs a bit of up grading as far as new tubs and faucets. Such a small thing to overlook when in paradise. Our room was a standard quit spacious, very clean. Beach was beautiful, tide was high first couple of days. By third day bit calmer and enough beach for a lounge chair, which were plentiful. Pool was big and well kept, would be great if open later than 6pm. Was not too humid when we went so bearable without pool at night. Staff was wonderful, felt lik [... read more]
Melia Las Americas: Remember - it's Cuba.
Beach was great. Weather was great. Place was clean. But it is Cuba, so food was average - very bland and juice watered down. Fruit not as flavourful as you hope in Caribbean. Supplies run low. For Cuba, a great place, but I'd go somewhere else in Caribbean next time.
Melia Las Dunas: Good place to rest !
My husband and I stayed 5 days at the resort. A little break fro the routine was well needed and greatly appreciated, especially at that price ($488 p.p. all inclusive!). Cannot go wrong at that price! Food was good (for Cuba), the resort big, the room clean and beach was very nice but not that wide. My favourite things, the sun, the ocean and the musicians! Down side, a bit far from the airport.
Paradisus Rio De Oro: Second time almost as great as the first!
Well kept grounds. Great service. Only disappoint is internet service. Good choice and variety of food. Good snorkelling off the beach. Fun on the Hop on Hop off bus. Interesting and friendly people to meet at the lobby bar.
Paradisus Punta Cana: Nice resort. Lots of traffic on pathways
Overall the resort was great. Beaches were fantastic, pool was clean and rooms were ok. The food was fantastic. Best food I've had at an all inclusive. Some of our best meals were actually at the buffet. Downsides - lots of traffic on the main walkway. It's a big resort but they don't have any service roads. All the service trucks, maintenance trucks and shuttles compete for the same space as guests walking on the main walkway. With small kids I didn't think that traffic was going to be an issu [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: very nice adult only resort
This is a very large resort so lots of guests.Excellent beach with bar and service.Pools are well situated and because of number of guests need to reserve chairs early in morning.Buffet has many choices for breakfast ,lunch and dinner.Would not recommend the Italian nor Asian restaurants but woulr reserve the Japanese twice in lieu of.Service in all restaurants is excellent except for the two mentionned above. The service and food at the Miramar is excellent as well as the ambiance. housekeeping [... read more]
Melia Peninsula Varadero: Amazing vacationing at Melia Resorts!
I had such a great experience at the Melia Peninsula in Varadero, Cuba. The room was clean, sheets changed everyday, clothes and shoes organized every day. The staff very friendly and helpful. Selection of food quite good: i could always chose something for myself. And amazing bartenders !!! They always listened to my wishes and made the best drinks i have ever had... Very memorable stay at Melia Peninsula Varadero. Im thinking already about going back soon, even though I just came back a week a [... read more]
Tryp Cayo Coco: The staff are friendly
The resort is dated. However, the management and the staff have done their best to keep the facilities clean. On the activity board, they said there were tennis lessons everyday at 0900 however when I went there the court was empty. The beach was lovely and that was where I spent most of my time. I booked a trip to go to Havana and subsequently I was told that the plane was full and me and wife were bumped. They refund me, but loss money due to exchange ( about 40 CAD) for a trip which was CAD30 [... read more]
Paradisus Princesa Del Mar: Great Resort
The hotel room was clean and spacious. The food in the buffet was good and the selection was fine. They were serving fresh lobster every evening that we ate there. The Japanese restaurant, Hilltop restaurant and Cuban restaurants were very good. We did not care much for the Italian restaurant. The beach was very good and the only problem is the shortage of shaded areas over the lounge chairs. By 0800 every morning all of the good spots were taken (towels/books placed).
Melia Las Dunas: Really fun trip!
Overall we had an amazing trip!!!! We travelled with 2 kids, 6 months and 6 years. We stayed in villa 26 so it was close to the pool and beach. The resort is huge and it seems like if you are travelling with kids they put you close to the pool. We only stayed on the family side pool and it was always very clean and never too busy. The rooms are okay. We stayed on the first floor and we think that had to do with finding a cockroach in our room every night. Putting a towel at the bottom of the doo [... read more]
