Hyatt Vivid Playa Del Carmen: Perfect For a Quick Break

The Hilton Playa Del Carmen was great for a 5 day getaway. The rooms are spacious, the food delicious, and the staff helpful. The main lobby is a stunning place to arrive to. Some things to keep in mind: there is daytime entertainment at the main pool (close to the ocean) and there will likely be weddings at the gazebo, again close to the ocean. This means rooms close to these spots will be noisy. At the back of the hotel, you'll be on the town side where you will hear the music from the bars u [... read more]ntil about 2 or 3am. The key to quiet is the middle of the hotel away from the main pool. The beach at the resort is public: there are people selling bags, hats, shows, mango, etc and then hotel staff are selling spa treatments. A polite "no thanks" is sufficient if you're not interested. Cabanas are usually 'claimed' by 10am. The waves are often quite strong here and there are rocks on the sea floor for much of the Hilton's space. A few steps to the left gets you to the sandy sea floor. The ferry to Cozumel is on the right of the beachfront but caused no issues (no horns or diesel smell). There is daytime entertainment that seems directed at a somewhat younger audience than the average age. Nighttime shows are a little more Vegas-y. We were always able to walk into a restaurant - no reservations or waiting required. The WestJet Vacations transfer had the Hilton as the last stop of 4 which meant with a 1:45pm arrival in Cancun, we didn't get to the hotel till 5:30pm. On the way back to Cancun, we were the 1st of 2 pickups, so it was much faster.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Amazing resort!!!

We had a fantastic time at this resort! The food was excellent! The service was amazing! The pools and the beach were absolutely terrific. It’s well taken care of by an excellent staff. Great entertainment every night!

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Holiday inn resort

Very windy thought bar frig came stocked Not , plays the same music over and over food not the greatest elevator broke down the day we arrived entertainment very good except for the wind should look into some kind of walls the could put up when its windy

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Amazing resort

This was the cleanest resort I’ve ever been to! Every night they tore apart the restaurants and cleaned EVERYTHING! They were constantly cleaning floors everywhere and the place just sparkled. The staff was all very friendly and although they could have used an extra bartender at every bar we visited, the service was friendly and fast enough to keep us happy. The a la carte’s That we are at were delicious (seafood, Japanese and steakhouse), but we had a hard time getting reservations w [... read more]ith our group. They do not cater to large groups (we were 10). They would tell us that they could not accommodate us all, and then when we split up and went at our given time we would find many tables empty so that they could have definitely fit us all in. That was the only frustration of the trip. The buffet was great for buffet food.

Sunscape Sabor Cozumel: We enjoyed our time at Sunscape Sabor Cozumel

We traveled to Cozumel with Air Transat, arriving at 10pm and into the hotel by 11pm. We had requested a King Bed. The room we were given Saturday was two double beds. On Sunday they told us they were full but could get us a King the next day. Monday we were given the room with a King. It was quite clean. the bathroom had new tiles in the shower, but the door showed signs of long term damp. The bar in thP lobby had great Cappuccino that we got each afternoon after the beach. The room was the furthest away from the Portofino Buffet restaurant, but close to the lobby and pool. We enjoyed meals in all the restaurants and were not disappointed. The bar service was excellent, with drinks served daily on the beach. We loved the beach and snorkeling daily. There were lots of chairs available on the beach in the shade and sun. The pools were busy and popular. The older buildings are in need of a face lift, but the newer ones look very nice. The weather was terrific and we thoroughly enjoyed our trip

Barcelo Maya Caribe: Nice Accommodations

Overall the hotel was good. The rooms were nice and clean and the food was great. The service at the bars was pretty slow but there was 7 weddings during the week. The only other thing to remember to take would be a pair of water shoes for the ocean as there is lots of coral patch’s which will do a number on your feet. Great place to go for family’s with small kids and teens.

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Disappointed

The food selection was very poor. The one pool was very dirty There really was no WOW at the resort at all. There was only one restaurant which was at the beach for dinner a la carte which was very cold and windy all the time. The selection for dinner was very poor The food at the buffet a lot of it tasted like dish soap as if the pans had not been rinsed. The front counter staff could not answer any questions of where/what to do in town

Marival Emotions Resort and Suites Riviera Nayarit: Great Value

An excellent 4 star resort. Food was great. Service was excellent, very friendly and accommodating staff. Beach is great, umbrella guys are amazing. Rooms and grounds super clean. Animation staff was out of this world.

Fontan Ixtapa: Great vacation!

Just returned from Ixtapa Fontan resort. We were pleasantly surprised as this was a 3* resort. The food was fresh and tasty. Staff very friendly! We thought every room had a balcony but after one night staff was able to accommodate our request. The beach is great for walking but watch for the big waves and undertow, lost my prescription glasses the first day. Enjoyed the resort activities including bike tour to Playa Linda, beach volleyball, stretching and Zumba! Also enjoyed being right in town [... read more] with easy access to great restaurants and shopping!

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Nice resort

Grounds beautiful. Beach excellent. Pool good. Not much happening at this resort, however if you just want to relax, this resort is for you! BEWARE there is construction! All day 8 to 9 pm 7 days!! Jackhammer all day. We paid extra for royal club service and we were right next to construction! They should not be charging extra!! Would go back but after construction is finished.

Bahia Principe Escape Sian Ka'an: Quaint resort charm on a big resort

Loved the small feel of the adults only resort (Sian Kaan) Can feel quite over whelming if you venture out to see the other connected resorts Everything is connected via shuttles, about 10 different lines

Riu Flamingos: Very nice

Nice grounds, lovely beach, nice pools. Pretty crowded at the pools and restaurants, the lobby service wasn’t great. The kids area didn’t allow drinks of any kind which made it hard to sit for a long time with our kids. Rooms were clean but just ok. Buffet food was great, a la carte restaurants were hit and miss. Over all a very nice resort for the price.

Haven Riviera Cancun: Best. Restore. Ever.

From the minute we entered the resort grounds we were blown away, and it only got better from there! When we booked we didn’t know the resort was only about 6 months old. It was pristine, immaculate, and all top notch state of the art. The room was absolutely luxurious and gorgeous... blue tooth everything, stunning decor, design and detail, and the most comfortable bed we’ve ever slept in! The swim up room if definitely the way to go... have us the ability to have complete personal time,  [... read more]or join the quiet or main pool for more high octane fun if we decided that’s what we wanted. The restaurants were remarkable, with the Mediterranean being the absolute best! The only one we weren’t overly impressed with was the Asian Fusion... needs some work. Overall this resort is a 12 star out of 10... we’re already planning our next trip back next year! Highly recommend!!

The minute you step into the reception area you start to get glimpses of what is to come. This resort has the space to enjoy some quiet time and at the same time so many amenities that you will not know what to do first. There simply are not enough stars available to properly rate this property.

Bahia Principe Explore Tulum: Amazing vacation!

This was our 3rd time to the GBP Tulum. Everything was just as good as we remembered. The pools and beach have plenty of loungers. The grounds are impeccably kept. The staff are so friendly. Our room was cleaned 1st thing each morning. The food was delicious and plenty to choose from at the buffet. My hubby is a picky eater so when he says he likes the food you know it’s good. We can’t wait to go back again next year!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: A resort

My husband I went from Feb 2 to Feb 14th. We were pleased with the service of this resort. The only thing I can say I was soooo disappointed in was the location of our room. It was ground level and by an entrance and it was so busy and noisy at all times at night. Room 6120 is a room to avoid, we had no privacy and our patio doors look out onto a busy path and really no garden view. I will not go back there for that reason. This was our first holiday in years and we booked early. We talked to pe [... read more]ople who booked last minute and got great second and third floor rooms with some kind of views and did not have to keep the curtains closed at all times, and paid less. Besides that it was a nice place, very big, clean and lots of walking, which is not a bad thing. The beach was not very nice when we arrived full of weeds, but a week later they had it all cleaned up and it looked pretty decent. The staff at Blue Bay were great, helpful and very courteous. Food was a good too, the buffets offered many different kinds of food and the A la carte were good too. we really enjoyed the Steakhouse and Mexican nights, we could not get into the French dining. The other thing was people stealing beach chairs to put by the pool area, we saw a man take someones beach chair with all there stuff tied to it, so he could be by the pool. Our last 2 days were kinda spoiled by arrogant, selfish, loud and obnoxious french people, I assumed from Quebec, because there french was more slang. They also thought the world revolved around them, taking extra chairs just put their bags on, while people were looking for beach chairs to sit on. One couple even took 2 chairs from the beach and put it by the pool area and then had the nerve to reserve 2 chairs on the beach. Beware of the stores on the premises, they charge almost 4 times more than going into town. We recommend you bring extra suntan lotion, bandages( for blisters for all the walking) They charge everything in American dollars or Mexican Peso equivalent. We met lots of great people as well and made some good friends too. So if you like large resorts this a good one.

The Fives Beach Hotel and Residences Playa Del Carmen: Fives Is a TEN!!!!!

Lets start with the Staff Ive been to Mexico 19 times in the past 30yrs I can say with no hesitation these are the best staff ive ever encountered.genuine kind thoughtful are a few of attributes they portray. Zel Cozumel: Best Vacation and Resort Ever

Melia Cozumel was an amazing resort. We found it very clean, comfortable. WE loved the small and intimate size of Melia. Food was so delicious and well prepared. The staff were so friendly and helpful. We had fun with all the activities that were offered. The evening shows were amazing. My favourite was the Valentine's day show. I hope to return to Melia Cozumel one day. I would definitely recommend the res8rt to my friends and family.

Barcelo Maya Grand Resort: Family friendly

Grounds were beautifully maintained, pools were cool and clean, beach was great, plenty of shade for those who like it. Food was good although the buffet got a bit repetitive. Red wine was terrible, but plenty of other options! Our room was dated and the sheets were polyester for the first few days (WHYYY????) but otherwise clean. The mini fridge was kept well stocked, the air conditioning worked perfectly, and housekeeping was great. Zel Cozumel: Valentine's Week at Melia

Stayed at Melia Cozumel the second week of February (our second time visiting here) and we had another wonderful time. The weather was great, the beach was really nice and the service was top notch. The tower rooms are quite large - we had one on the 5th floor with a small kitchenette and table with four chairs, and an excellent view of the beach, incoming and outgoing cruise ships, and the Playa Del Carmen across the straight. The wind was blowing mainly from the east, so the turtle grass [... read more] washing up on shore was not an issue this week. If the breeze is from the north it does wash up, however the landscapers rake the beach at 6:00am so it was really should not be an issue. Lots of chairs and plenty of shade available. The beach is very walkable, especially to the north. It's much, much nicer than the beach in front of the adjacent hotel to the south, however if you have water shoes to cushion your feet from the pebbles and reef, you can hike along the beach for about a mile to the south. The food was plentiful and good, with something for everyone, so If you go hungry, it's your own fault. One observation was that the options at the buffet were sometimes just warm, never piping hot. The omelette and grilling stations were always fresh, hot and delicious. Being able to eat with an ocean view was great, as the buffet and beach restaurant are directly on the beach. Skip the Italian a la carte - it's just not that good. The International (Paraiso) restaurant was the best of the three with the fresh salmon and mahi-mahi entrees both excellently prepared. The service was excellent. Don't forget to tip the restaurant waiters (interestingly, all men) the bartenders (Antonio at the pool bar, and Abril who served the Bali Bed section - both excellent) and the maids. They all hustle. One negative was that they never once got the restocking of the mini-fridge as we requested, even after speaking with the concierges almost daily. I ended up just grabbing 6 bottles of water from the premium desk each day. Overall a great vacation. We are planning to return with the adult kids and grandkids next time!
