Breezes Bahamas: Great getaway

I have read a lot of negative reviews but I have been to this resort 5 times. So yes, it is an older resort and some things are dated. However, they have been doing upgrades on the resort constantly. That being said, the rooms are always spotless. The staff are excellent. Friendly and always ready to assist. The food is great and everything is accessible. They have a great beach and nightly activities. The newer resorts tend to be high rises and it takes a while to get around. I find the resort  [... read more]easy to get around and well laid out.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great experience even in the rain

The food was amazing along with the staff. My only suggestion would be to NOT stay on the 15th floor as only one elevator goes up there and we found house keeping took a long time to clean that floor. I will say the view is amazing from the higher floors though. Also we did find that the gym equipment did need some updating as some of them had rust on them. It did rain for 2 days while we were there and the staff tried to have things for you to do which was much appreciated. Word of advice we go [... read more]t from a couple was to take the water taxi instead of normal taxi to go over to the downtown as it is cheaper. Overall I would go again.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Fair resort, air conditioning way too cold inside.

Beach was very shallow, and many red flag days. Pool was small, but lots of chairs. Buffet food was never hot, tepid at most. A la cartes were good except for the Japanese. Staff was wonderful, except for front desk. We were not leaving till 7pm and had to be out of our rooms by noon.

The Royal at Atlantis: Amazing Vacation!

Returning in Feb, do not listen to any bad reviews. Do go prepared to spend quite alot on food or pack plenty of snacks. Beautiful resort, wonderful staff. So much to do (casino, pools, waterpark, the dig) and see. Best vacation so far.

Breezes Bahamas: Could Be Better

I have been to Breezes many times over the years and for the most part been very satisfied. On my last trip in November I was disappointed in a number of things. The rooms are adequate but dated. The housekeeping team were great and the room nicely cleaned each day. The shower door however leaked water all over the floor and the handle on the shower fell off when I turned it on. Lighting in the room is very dim and needs to be improved. Walls are very thin so you have to hope for quiet neighbour [... read more]s. Pools cold! Hardly used by the guests for the week I was there. Hot tub closed. Ocean is beautiful but while I was there rough and tons of seaweed although they worked hard to clean it up Only went to the buffet as I did not want to make a reservation for the restaurants. The food was OK - breakfast was the best option. What really annoyed me was some of the dining room servers in the morning seemed almost resentful of the guests. This really needs to be addressed by management as they have some very unhappy staff who are borderline rude. I don't know if I will return.

Melia Nassau Beach Resort: Good but needs some upgrades

Overall the resort is nice. The staff are friendly. The food is really good for an all inclusive, the a-la-carte restaurants I recommend to try. My favourite is the Italian restaurant even though the decor is dated. Also love the beach although I could do without the vendors. What needs improvement most of all though are the rooms

The Royal at Atlantis: 5 Days in Paradise!

The resort is beautiful with an abundance of things to see and do. The service is amazing throughout the entire resort and the selection & quality of the food was great. We definitely plan on returning in the future.

The Royal at Atlantis: nassau

The trip was perfect and seamless. We enjoyed everything from starting in Ottawa until Nassau and home again. The flight, transfers and hotel was amazing. The atlantis hotel was beautiful and so much to do. Very friendly too!! Thank you tripcentral.

Breezes Bahamas: A nice relaxing break

We returned to Breezes after many years and while it is showing a bit of age, the owners are keeping things running smoothly. The food was good, including the buffet. The portions were healthy so don't expect any 20oz steaks. However, the food was cooked properly and we felt satisfied after each meal. The rooms were basic but the bed was comfortable at that is the most important thing. Some people complained about dampness in the rooms but while there was some in wasn't any worse than the Riu  [... read more]in Jamaica or Aruba. Also considering the island had a full week of heavy rain from a hurricane just 3 weeks earlier, I can give them some leniency on dampness. The beach was great as was the spa. My wife enjoyed finding out that Shell was trained in proper Shiatsu techniques rather than the fake Shiatsu services at many resorts. The staff was friendly and helpfully, making the visit a success.

Breezes Bahamas: run down!!!

The rooms were pretty standard. I had a garden view room on the ground floor and although it was easy access to the pool area, the room itself could have been nicer. The sliding glass door was always getting stuck and the sound of the pool pump was very loud through the night. The staff was excellent and very friendly. Bar locations were convenient during the day, but when some closed around 6pm, the only one open was upstairs so if you wanted to sit outside and enjoy the sunset, it was a bit of [... read more] a hike to get drinks. Food was good and lots of variety. Overall had a good time but the hotel did have an odor resembling a moldy smell in the rooms as well as the piano bar. Would probably not go back to this resort!!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great Fun, Good Price

We decided to return to Bahamas for our one year anniversary trip. We decided somewhat last miinute and saw a deal for The Riu Paradise Island. The price was right and it was an upgrade to the "Supreme Ocean View Suite". The only negative thing i will say is that this was far from a suite, it was a regular room like everyone elses! The room size was fine, we unfortuantely didnt get one of the newly updated rooms, but it was still nice. The view was mostly of the resort and the ocean on the side. [... read more] After talking to other couples and familes, it sounded like they were all upgraded to suites at the front of the building. One couple was also on their one year anniversary and showed up on the same day as us but a couple of hours after we did and they were automatically upgraded to a much larger and nicer room. We told the front desk and the people doing the welcome that it was our anniversary upon our arrival, but there was no recognition of this. However, i was in no mood to complain this was a relaxing trip and i didn't want any worries! Overall, the resort was extremely clean and nicely done. Everytime i would go into the washrooms they were always being cleaned, as well as the pool deck and restaurants. The selection of food was amazing! I was very surprised! Every lunch buffet had something different each day and the dinner buffet was very good. One night they even had a ton of sushi rolls prepared, and they were great! The A La Cart restaurants were very good as well. My favourite was either Alexander or Japanese. The only downfall to eating at the a la cart was that there were only two seating times, 6:30 PM or 8:30 PM and they were all three course meals, but you had to wait for everyone else to finish each course before you got your next plate. There was one night that we left early and skipped on the dessert because we didnt want to wait any more. The pool was a great spot for me, i loved the built in lounge chairs that are seated in the water! The beach was clean and the ocean was beautiful. It is a public beach so it did seam a little crowded at times, and there are a lot of people trying to sell you things like coconut drinks and jet skis. Great selection of drinks, bartenders were friendly and fast. They had a lot of blended drinks that were amazing, like the frozen mojito. I didnt go on any excursions or visit the spa on site. However, this resort is so close to Atlantis we visited there a couple of times. And it is a short walk into town or you can take the water ferry. So there is a lot to do. Overall, for a last minute vacation i was impressed and we both felt that we got good value for our money. I would recommend this resort or another RIU resort.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Truly Paradise!

My husband and I spent a wonderful week from Oct 1 to Oct 8 in beautiful Bahamas to celebrate my 60th birthday. This was our first time in Bahamas and all I can say is everything was perfect. Our flight from Toronto was smooth, the Riu hotel is beautiful, the staff are amazing and we couldn't have asked for better service. We loved the food...always a huge selection. Breezes Bahamas: Lovely Hotel

The rooms were very nice but have no fridge and no water in the rooms. The food was good and we only ate at the buffet. The beach is very nice with quite a bit of sea grass. We loved the entertainment, Funky D!

The Royal at Atlantis: Amazing Beach!

The Atlantis resort has it all! Beautiful beaches, nice pools, amazing restaurants (OLIVES is a must), casino, marina. The rooms in the beach tower could use some updating but were very clean and suited our needs.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Great people

This is more of a 3 star resort. Poor selection at the buffet but it was good and you won't starve. They really lack having umbrellas on the beach and a beach bar. Beach and water are gorgeous. Only one pool that is loud from the entertainment staff. I like quiet spots. Entertainment is absolutely terrible. Good points: the staff are wonderful. I loved Lenny and Zavian at the bars. Rooms were small but clean with nice views. Don't pay to upgrade to two doubles it's still a king. The proximity to [... read more] Atlantis is great. If you like smaller resorts this is perfect! It was clean and very friendly. Biggest issue is not having palapas and zero shade spots at the beach or pool. I would go back again but would pack my own umbrella.

Riu Palace Paradise Island: would return to this location

food was great, staff was wonderful, plenty of daytime and evening activities at hotel, easy access to lots of stuff in town and different excursions.....decor could be updated but it was still nice, my only critisism was tv channels often had intermittent static but we never in room except at bedtime, and we had three people in a room with two single beds pushed together, so one person slept in the middle crack. Not sure why they would put 3 people into a room like that

The Royal at Atlantis: Trip of a lifetime!

The best way to describe this giant resort is if Disneyworld and Las Vegas had a baby, it would be Atlantis! The Royal Tower and all the grounds and attractions are a feast for the eyes! And the food at the Mosaic Buffet is AMAZING! The turquoise clear waters truly rejuvenate the soul!

Riu Palace Paradise Island: Resort was okay

Vendors on the beach were very annoying, could not relax every second someone coming along asking you wanna do this, u wanna do this. hate the fact that smoking was allowed everywhere!! hotel was not accommodating at all our flight was delayed for 6 hours would not allow us to keep room longer

Sandals Royal Bahamian: Not worth the extra $2000.00

Hotel was grand, staff fine, grounds wonderful, all the type? not worth it! Disappointing to say the least about the "premium alcohol", no 24 hr bar at ALL! They wouldn't open the bar at the "private beach" until 11:01 am, god forbid 20 people waiting, and staff was slow as heck to accommodate there! ran out of glasses at the bar many times after being opened 20 minutes. Riu Palace Paradise Island: Welcoming and Pleasing

Fabulous grounds, excellent service and amazing food! We were very impressed with the well kept beach and pool areas. The staff were very attentive and pleasant. The food served at the restaurants visited was delicious!
