Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Great time overall!!

The hotel was nice, clean and perfect for relaxing adult getaway! Food very good, beach beautiful but cod of done without all pirranas (venders). Staff service great and timely when needed. Would return for sure for girls getaway or couple retreat!

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Great resort!

We had a great time staying at the Blue Bay Esmeralda. The staff was amazing. The food was incredible. Our room was very clean and modern. Our room was a 10-15 minute walk to the beach but there's a little golf cart shuttle that will bring you there. The beach itself wasn't the greatest but still ok. Plus there are two large pools close to the beach as an option. There's always a large variety of activities to do there. I liked that Playa de Carmen was only a 15 minute shuttle away. Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Friendly and cozy resort

Our overall experience and stay at the resort was pleasant though the arrival was pretty unusual. We were herded to the side of the lobby instead of the usual check in at the counter. This could have been done more efficiently instead. The staff members are friendly and always smiling. Our room was comfortable and clean and thank goodness the AC works and no water clogged in our bathroom. TV channels included BBC and HLN to keep us updated throughout , you see we are news addict. Beach and pool area are well maintained however you see plastic cups on the beach due to strong afternoon wind which blew them away easily when its empty😉 The gym area which was used frequently was functioning well basic equipment treadmill stair master and a stationary bike. Safety wise like anywhere else, have to be careful and not wonder off unless you are familiar and speak the language. We definitely stood out as we have the word tourist written on our forehead being the minority group. They have nightly entertainment and a notice is put up on the board on the programs scheduled through out the day. Played volleyball or rather picking up the ball most of the time but we had fun. There were beach vendors walking to sell souvenirs and offering massages. We were approached many times and kept saying no thank you and after a few days they almost stopped coming. We did a half day City Tour excursion which included a cable car ride to the botanical garden, jewelry, rum, cigar factory and down area. Overall we had a great time and returned home totally relax. Unfortunately that was gone after a few days. Back to the real world however with lasting memories. Special thanks to 'Harry Potter' our trip central rep who took care of us.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Fun upbeat resort

I thought the resort was older and was tried to be well maintained. However I did not find the pools or rooms very clean. The staff was very fun & upbeat! They made you feel welcome and also had fun with you. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The food was ok but nothing special. Overall the staff made the experience such a great one!

Very nice resort! Clean, lots of great food choices, good pool and night entertainment. The Mexican a la carte was the best!!! However, we were very disappointed with the beach!! It was full of seaweed!! Had to go couple of resorts down to swim in the ocean 😞

Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Simple resort...but not a nice beach

Love the simplicity of the resort. Staff was amazing, especially Luis at black and white, food was excellent, clean resort, and overall great place. The rooms were simple and bathroom was beautiful! However the beach isn't anything special so I'd you are looking for a nice beach area this wouldn't be a recommendation.

The hotel was really great.Food was awesome.If you don't want to go out from the resort , you still will have lots of fun. They have many activities and night show everyday. The staffs are hardworking but welcoming with a smile on their face all the time.We had a little issue with out washroom but it was fixed right away ( I am not complaining rather I am trying to say how great their customer service is!) Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Fantastic resort with a terrible beach

The rooms were clean, the food was great. They had many restaurants to choose from. I liked festival the best as it was fully covered and the selection was great. The pool area was sooo big and beautiful with plenty of chairs. But the beach was absolutely terrible. If you walked next door to the right of the hotel (facing the ocean -right) their beach was great. We went there one day.

Resort was nice and clean. Food was pretty good. Entertainment staff were the best part of the trip. There were activities to participate in constantly. Beach and pool were very nice and where we spent all of our time.

Excellent service, wonderfully friendly. if you're going to do an excursion wait and book it with the agents at the resort - Best Day Travel. they have the best prices. restaurants were wonderful. lots of wildlife on the resort. the grouds were impecable.

This was one of my best stays in Puerto Plata,the hotel was very clean,cleaning staff where so amazing always there to help.The grounds where beautifully kept up.Every one was very pleasant.I noticed this time that when at the beach the vendors didn't bother you as much very friendly.The food was amazing the best sopa l have had yet.l like that they offered a spa and excersise room right att he pool.Three pools which was great not to crowded.l am going back in August and will deffinetly be stayi [... read more]ng there.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Awesome

I have been going to this resort since 2000. I love the fact that it's an adults only resort, rooms have been redone and they are beautiful. Beds are very comfortable, entertainment at night time is very good. People and staff are very friendly, food was not that good this time and also we didn't have a mini fridge that worked the whole time we where there,, but I would go back there and also would recommend this resort to anybody that asked.we stayed in room 2103 , nice and close to everything  [... read more]but of course you hear the shows at night as you are close to the stage area.also this resort is only about 15 mins from the airport.

4 of us went - the resort was clean and the service was great the food was excellent, but the beach was bad, and there wasn't any adult entertainment which I really like.we had a great time and the week went to fast.

Grounds were clean but over grouth needs attention. Pools were clean but could use some maintenance (Grout repairs). Pool canopies for shade need replacement. Beach (not so good) but services very good. Food and staff were great.

We had a great vacation! The grounds were beautiful and very clean. Our room was very clean and staff called us to make sure everything was up to par. The food was delicious and many choices at each meal. Staff was very friendly and spoke English well. Lots of room in the pools. Was disappointed about the ocean as people were not swimming in it due to being dirty. That was the only negative thing about our vacation. I would definitely recommend this resort to others and would go there again.

The hotel was nice but could have been cleaner. We had ongoing issues with our toilet and they did come to fix it but it didn't work. The people were friendly but were hard to understand. The grounds were well kept. There were lots of animals on the grounds. The A La Cartes were great especially the Steak House. We found the buffets were very repetitive and didn't like the fact that they used liquid eggs to make omelettes. Overall it was a great trip and we had a great time!!

Loved the service and the food was amazing, the suite was clean and housekeeping service efficient. The shows are no good if you are going for that, forget it. The beach is not very nice, but at a walking distance you can get to a very nice lagoon or a very nice beach. The service staff is really friendly. We loved our stay! Blue Bay Grand Esmeralda: Wonderful Resort, amazing staff - Great food!

Food was amazing. Especially the Buffet and Steak House. Grounds were larger than I like but well kept and well lit at night. Trams were travelling all day. Beach was not great. Storms have washed away the sand and it's not appealing to walk on sand bags. Staff, especially the animation staff were wonderful and kept our teens busy all day around the pool. Lots of fun. Only negative is the cleanliness of the pool area and the sharp tiles on the pool bottom were dangerous.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: Excellantl Resort

Everything about the Blue Bay is great. The food, including variety, the beach, swimming pools, grounds, and the service was second to none. Staff were very friendly, bartenders knew what they were doing as the drinks were made properly. Maid service kept the room spotless and they were very friendly. Entertainment was very good. No complaints about this resort whatsoever. Stayed a week, but am going back for at least 10 days. Thank you Blue Bay for a great vacation.

Blue Bay Villas Doradas: WOULDN'T RETURN

My room room flooded with 4 inches of water, had to move the next day after being there 8 days out of my 10. The staff made our stay (except reception counter), they're were 32 in our group. I wouldn't recoomand this resort to clients going forward.
