Hotel Villa Cuba: Great resort
Really enjoyed our stay. Would def return to this resort. Staff was awesome, food was very good and location was perfect. Beach was a short walk and beautiful. Villas were nice and comfortable. We Look forward to our next trip to Cuba
Roc Barlovento: A small intimate resort
This was our 6th time to Cuba & had stayed at Roc Barlovento last year for a month. we enjoyed ourselves a great deal last year & again went for a month this year . It was even better than last year. The new manager Angel could be seen every day ,walking the resort to ensure all was in order for the resort guests. The food was very good & the entertainment so very enjoyable. The ainamation team go well beyond to ensure that all have the oppuritunity to be involved & to have alot of fun & laugh [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Fair value for your money
We new before we left that the Hotel Roc Belovento was not a five star resort. It was exactly what we expected. It is an old resort and it shows it. The grounds were clean. The staff were grumpy. We guessed became of it being the end of the season. Two ladies Hilda and one in the buffet were very friendly. So was the entaintertamint staff. The pool needs a good cleaning. The second pool has a liner and its discolored and in need of repair. The beaches are beautiful. The food was better than I [... read more]
Roc Barlovento: Good Vacation
I stayed in this hotel for several times. This was the best one. They renovated the restaurant and the bedding had a better quality. The staff are friendly. The only problem was the flies. There is a lot...
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Great place to stay
Loved our stay there. The beach was amazing. .the housekeeping staff so efficient. The wait staff were tremendous. .always having a table for us.if ever we go back to cuba we would go back to the resort
Hotel Villa Cuba: good value for the money
grounds are well kept, food was adequate, service was OK, beach was beautiful, weather was awesome! Would return to this resort. It was considered their off season, so the resort was not very busy the week we were there.
Roc Barlovento: Very Nice Resort
This resort was very simple and beautiful. The beach was amazing and I had a lovely experience here with my fiancé.The service was great, everybody extremely nice, attentive and friendly. The site is very clean and well maintained. My only real complaint about the hotel is about the stains on the bedding and the towels, they need to replace these items sooner rather than later and that would make such a difference to the whole place. The beach is very beautiful and cleaned every morning.
Club Kawama: Social Resort
The resort has been around for a long time and is spread out. It's pretty typical of what Cubans rate as three star. The bar area in the hotel and beside the pool are quite confined and sharing of tables is normal practice. The upside to this is that you will meet many people. I didn't find the bar and front desk staff as friendly as in other resorts we have been to. I think it might have been because of a shortage of 1 peso notes which made it hard to tip. The food was a bit below standard whic [... read more]
Occidental Arenas Blancas: a wonderful holiday spot
We stayed at Barcelo Arenas Blancas and had a great time! Beautiful beach and pools, large buffets and variety of restaurants, friendly staff and a laid back atmosphere. The location is excellent, just steps away from Varadero town. I would go back to this resort. One area for improvement is the quality of the nighttime entertainment and maybe cut down on the loud DJ music by the pool in the afternoon. The small live music's acts and lunch by the beach and in early evening in the lobby were grea [... read more]
Hotel Villa Cuba: fantasic place
there was nothing to complain about, everything was great , the food the place and the people where great, I would go again, next time the whole family while go(maybe a little longer to) fun in the sun life doesn't get better than this
Hotel Villa Cuba: excellent hotel and staff
the villas were the best when travelling with a group, staff was the best ,resort was very clean if there was a downfall is the dinner buffets could be better.transat rep was always there to help and answer any questions
Club Kawama: kawama
april , 1 week, public areas well kept, staff friendly, helpful, food good, great outdoor bbq at lunch 1 day, beach lots of lounge chairs, towes large and thuck enough [deposit 10cuc], bars as expected, room 1801 awful
Club Kawama: Another great vacation
Club Kawama is the perfect resort if you want an inexpensive beach vacation in Varadero. It is the oldest resort in Varadero, but has recently gone through some renovations. It is on a beautiful long stretch of beach. This is not a 5 star resort, so don't stay there if you are expecting 5 star amenities. However, if you want an inexpensive beach holiday without all of the bells and whistles, this is a great choice. I've been there 10 times, and plan to return again.
Hotel Villa Cuba: Eclectic
Although in need of updating this quaint unique resort captured our hearts...the villa with its own pool was great!!! Would love to go with friends and stay in a villa together. Good was average but always found some tasty stuff to eat.
Occidental Arenas Blancas: all we needed
Lots of bars food and right in town great day trip to havana the beach and ocean were beautiful horse and carriage rides and vintage cabs beatles bar a must at least once Sunwing representative s were a great help
Hotel Villa Cuba: Be Live Needs An Update
The grounds, staff, and beach are amazing. There was a terrible sewer smell around the towel exchange area. The maids are not cleaning under or around the beds, dressers, etc. A nice board walk should be built on the beach like they did at Las Morlas next door. The night shows were good over all but a few need improving. We got bored by two shows and left early. The food was fair as it is all over Cuba.
Club Kawama: cute rustic version
Beautiful beach as always....cute rustic looking....renovations are still being done but considering this is one of the oldest resorts in Veradero the resort is in pretty good shape....good entertainment
Roc Barlovento: BEAUTIFUL LOCATION & FOOD WAS GREAT
RIGHT ON THE OCEAN. LOVELY POOLS. EASY WALK TO THE TOWN FOR SHOPPING, SIGHTSEEING & OTHER RESTAURANTS. THE FOOD WAS EXCELLENT IN THE MEXICAN, MEDITERRANEAN AND THE SHUSI RESTAURANTS. THERE WERE BBQ'S AT THE OUTSIDE PATIO EACH LUNCH HOUR WHICH HAD DELICIOUS MEATS.
Hotel Plaza: Great lobby and location, awful room
Alright I'll keep this one short. The lobby and location are terrific, hand crafted moldings and etc, and staff was generally friendly. Location is terrific, except a building under renovation next door. It's right across from Capitol building. The rooms were awful. Plain and marks on walls, pretty much hostel, except the beds seemed worse. At least it seemed clean. The insulation was awful, couldn't sleep all night bc of noises outside(ppl yelling singing etc). I'd recommend staying at varadar [... read more]
Occidental Arenas Blancas: Never go to Barcelo Arenas Blancas again!
Our room was filthy with mold and rot around the bathroom doors, tub, sink, floor. tiles etc. The maid service was not great, but the service at the bar, buffet, and alacarte was very good. Overall the food was average.Beach was okay but the lounge chairs were pretty worn out. The pool was not cleaned the whole week and many of the tiles were floating in the water. We had paid for a "Superior" room but it had been given to someone else and they gave us a room in the oldest wing of the hotel where [... read more]
