Hotel Bella Costa: Had a fantastic time!!!

Breezes Bella Costa in Varadero Cuba is a fabulous resort. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay there. The rooms were clean despite the fact that it may need a facelift in the near future. Grounds and the beach was wonderful. The staff are amazing. We will definitely go back. Had a great time.

hotel staff very friendly and responsive; security good and attentive to leaving and arriving; cleanliness good within the room and on the general grounds; comfort good - what more could we ask - a wonderful holiday!

Sunscape Curacao Resort: A Little Slice of Heaven!

Our family stayed at the Sunscape Curacao from Mar 22-29/15, and had an amazing week! We all enjoyed the fact that it was a small resort, and everything - pools, beach, bars, restaurants, and our rooms were within a short walking distance. We stayed in a garden view room, which was very spacious, clean, and nicely decorated. The beds were very comfortable, and other than hearing loud music from Mambo Beach a few nights, we slept well. Blankets are not supplied in the rooms, so do ask for one as [... read more] the air conditioner blows right over top of the beds. We had a huge balcony with a table and 2 chairs, as well as a drying rack for swimsuits. The only complaint we had about the room was that when you showered, the water would flood the floor. The glass door did not fit the tub very well, and the ledge around the tub was not level, so the floor got soaked. We dealt with the problem by putting a beach towel on the floor along the edge of the tub. It might be helpful, however, if the shower door was replaced with a shower curtain. There was a good variety of food with the restaurants. We ate at the buffet in the morning and at lunch, and twice for dinner. Coffee service was slow in the morning, so maybe having a self-serve coffee bar would be helpful. The breakfast smoothies were great, but again long line ups, so maybe having two people making them would shorten the wait. The guacamole at lunch was a big hit, and we loved having all the fresh fruit (especially the passion fruit!!). When we stayed in Aruba, they only served canned fruit! Our favorite al la carte was the Japanese restaurant -- we ate there twice. The food was hot, fresh, and delicious ... a special "shout-out" to Kurt, who did a great job cooking and entertaining us. The seafood restaurant was also very good, and we were seated at a table right on the beach. The Italian was good as well, although the service was really slow. Although the beach is not very long for walking, it is beautiful. We loved being able to snorkel right off the beach. The break-wall helps keep the water calm, and it was so clear you could see the tiny fish swimming by. We did take our water shoes as recommended by other reviewers, but found we did not need them. The pools were clean and close to the beach. Part of the pool is under a covered gazebo, which was a great place to relax if you needed time out of the sun. The swim up bar was great too, and usually very busy! The bartenders did an amazing job handling the lineups--even when we showed up with our tray of thermal mugs! They served a variety of drinks, and always offered a special "drink of the day". Our favorite was frozen lemonade, coconut rum, and blue curacao..."lemon smurf"! We also really enjoyed the coffee bar where they would make cappuccinos, lattes, and espressos. Our only complaint is that they closed too early (10 pm). It would be better if they stayed open until 11 pm to accommodate the late night diners (coffee is not served at night after dinner in the restaurants, or at least it was never offered). The ambiance of this resort was very relaxing. They had the most beautiful music playing all day long that was never loud or intrusive. The evening entertainment was top notch. The bands that played around the poolside in the evening were extremely talented, and we were always sad when they finished their last set. We had a special treat on our last night with "Carnivale" -- the music and the costumes were amazing, and made us feel like we were in Rio. All in all, we had a wonderful vacation at this resort... great sunshine with a constant gentle breeze, good food, beautiful beach, warm, friendly people. We've been fortunate to have had the opportunity to travel to many different islands over the years, and I think Curacao is one of our favorites. Next time though, we'll stay for 2 weeks!

Royalton Negril Resort And Spa: Great location!

The hotel is set in a perfect and serene location close to the 7 mile beach and local nightclub. It offers a beautiful view, calm waters, and a beautiful beach with accessibility to other resort beaches. The staff are absolutely amazing and offer a variety of activities for everyone as well as great evening entertainment. The food wasn't great but the drinks were good. As for the resort building itself, they are closing it down and rebuilding it as it does indeed need a major make-over both in e [... read more]sthetics and functionality but I did like the style of the building as our rooms resembled quaint villas. I look forward to visiting the new resort in the future once it is complete. Thank you Grand Lido for a wonderful holiday!

Hotel Los Cactus: Will Return

We were two 50 something women interested in golf and a trip to Havana. This being our second trip (first time stayed at the Bella Costa) we were familiar with the Breezes Varadero but had not been inside. The only reason I can not give it a five star is because I believe that is reserved for over the top. Our welcome on Saturday night was warm and efficient. This resort is well cared for. Yes it is over 25 years old and some doors are warped, had a wasp one night, but for a Caribbean location it was not at all musty. The food, wow. We have stayed in many all inclusives. Had absolutely no complaints about the food. Yes on occasion a bird might try to make off with some food, but hey they were here first. The variety was enough so that you could eat a different meal at each seating. Yes some things I did not like, but that is the same at home. The wine was tasty and plentiful. Some nights it was Chilean, others it was Spanish. The beer was always cold and the Scotch strong. If you preferred a mixed drink, I would suggest the lobby Bar. A special coffee, there was a bar for that too. We played in the pool, always clean, many chairs and the ocean, great except for the ignorance of some guests. This is a mostly no-smoking resort so the odd butt in the sand was revolting. There is so much more to say. I loved the staff. I just wish I could remember and name them all. Yes we tipped and left some gifts. They were all much appreciated. Will we return. we are already planning next years trip. Oh and about the golf and Havana, we managed to find some time for that.

Memories Jibacoa: Beautiful resort, great location

Well maintained grounds, generally quiet resort, very nice people, good organic food, good food service, exciting entertainment, gorgeous mountain view, nice pool. Missing: pool bar, drinks (soft, alcohol and water) in the room fridge.

Hotel Los Cactus: Better than expected

Although we arrived late, there was food available and drinks. Check in was efficient, and we were in our room 20min. after arriving. The rooms were a bit dated for sure, but they had all the necessarys, and the ac worked fine. The only downer was the bed itself, extremely uncomfortable! So we slept a lot on the beach, ha! The food was not great, but were able to find enough to sustain ourselves. Definitely worth going into Veradero for a meal or two. Havana is must see, but bring a lot of small coin or bill, as everyone seems to need a tip. The resort grounds were beautiful and well kept as were all the facilities. Average age at this resort was 50+.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: A hidden gem on a beautiful island

We recently traveled to Curacao and stayed at the Sunscape all inclusive resort. We were pleasantly surprised at the beautiful island and the resort amenities. The resort was very welcoming and eager to please the visitors. Upon checkin with Danielle, which was efficient and quick, we were able to upgrade our room for a very reasonable and discounted price. The room was very clean and large overlooking the ocean and resort. The restaurants were good. Food was good, especially at the Italian and  [... read more]steak house. The buffet offered a good variety at all meals, however, the service was not consistent. The resort offers many activities for children and adults. The pools are clean and well maintained. Drinks at the bars were very good. The beach and ocean are very nice. Overall, we were very pleased with the entire experience and would highly recommend the resort. It is a great deal for the price. We will definitely be returning next year.

Hotel Bella Costa: Great resort, amazing beach!!

Like many Cuban resorts, Breezes Bella Costa is somewhat dated. They do an excellent job; however, of keeping the place clean and welcoming. Food was better than we expected for Cuba. The a la cartes weren't great, but the buffet and beach grill were good. We had a garden view room in the main hotel part. Memories Jibacoa: Friendly resort in tropical intimate setting

This was our third stay at Memories Jibacoa amidst lush tropical palm filled gardens, with the ocean on one side and hills immediately behind the resort. Amazing snorkeling experience on the reefs 20 feet from the water's edge in shallow waters, perfect for novices, and deeper areas by swimming farther out. The pool area is beautiful. We loved the daily 09:30 slow stretch sessions led by instructor Kenya. She also teaches an aerobics class in the afternoon. The masseuse in a discreet lattice lined enclosure right on the beech is awesome.

Hotel Los Cactus: Relaxing Vacation

This resort is great if you love golf and relaxing in the sun. It's a more mature resort but always a good time. Food isn't the greatest but that's Cuba. Book your a la carte and stick to the pasta and bread in the buffet and you'll be fine. Been there twice and would go back again

Hotel Bella Costa: Good Resort

This is a dated resort which is basically well maintained. The staff are generally friendly and well trained. The grounds are well cared for and the beach excellent, although some of the loungers need replaced. The food is generally good but not exceptional. This is a good resort for families.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Great resort for families and groups

Stayed here March 30 to April 6, 2015. Older resort but very well kept. Rooms in Building 2 were good. Beach is great, grounds were nice and the staff were very friendly and helpful. No problem getting a chair on the beach. Good variety of food and lots of it. Pizza place was quite popular. The addition of the water park is great for kids and adults. Entertainment was average.

Hotel Bella Costa: Value for money

We went to this resort as my daughter's first all inclusive vacation that she had to pay for herself. The beach was great, the food was on the better end for Cuba for sure. While my standards are a little higher, I had no issues, the room was clean although the windows are lacking in sound proofing so if you go to bed early bring ear plugs. All in all it was a great vacation and my daughter said she would return to the same resort for sure.

Hotel Bella Costa: very noisy resort

Grounds were fine, meals were fine (too much pork every meal) the rooms size were fine but doors very noisy to close. Nice beach, public bathrooms never had toilet paper or paper towel to dry hands instead they had two rolls of toilet paper instead of paper towel it does not dry hands very good. Front desk people were very good and waiter and waitress were good. My husband was sick on the food but medical doctor were great. Cleaning staff good but we would have to ask if we wantedlotion or tea i [... read more]n the room.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Excellent family vacation resort !

Clean rooms with current amenities, great housekeeping staff, engaging, energetic entertainment staff, friendly accommodating service staff, lovely beach, awesome snorkelling, fun water park option, immaculate grounds; delicious food available throughout. See a few opportunities for enhancements - swim up bar pool is in the 'family' pool - a bit small and not always serviced well; evening entertainment could be improved on.

Jewel Runaway Bay Resort: Jewel Runaway Bay

We had the best vacation ever, from the beach, pools, food and the amazing staff the Runaway Bay was perfect. The new waterpark a bonus! Couldn't have had a better time. The resort is the perfect size for adults with older kids who want a little freedom without the worry. Our children enjoyed the many activities away from us but we were still able to locate in a matter of minutes.

Hotel Bella Costa: Good Value

I was nervous after reading the review on trip adviser but was very surprise at this resort. The rooms were very dated but clean. .We had booked a standard room with no balcony but were upgraded free to an room with an balcony with a little ocean view. The food was good we could always find something we liked. We loved the Beach Bar and it was also the Cuban a la carte. We loved eating on the beautiful Varadero Beach. The Front desk Staff was wonderful. They always tried to make you happy if the [... read more]re was a problem. We found the Lobby Bar was Great for good drinks, service and atmosphere. We loved listening to the music there in the evening. The only complain I would say I had was I found the ladies washroom down at the Beach Bar could of been cleaned more often and the food had way too much salt on it at times. My husband loved the golf course. We look forward in returning here again to relax on the beautiful beach and for my husband to play golf at varadero Golf course.

Sunscape Curacao Resort: Best resort ever!

This is the nicest resort we have ever stayed at in 20 years.the beach is beautiful ,the staff were friendly and helpful. The foods was very good especially in the a la carte restaurants. We had a lovely time and can't wait to go back.The rep we had was wonderful..so knowledgeable and helpful.
