Las Brisas Huatulco: Friendly service

I loved the fact that there were no vendors on the beaches! Fantastic snorkeling just off the beach. Staff were cheerful, helpful and attentive and made every effort to communicate despite our limited Spanish. Food in buffet was varied, fresh, simple and tasty. The ala carte restaurants varied in the service and quality of the menu. Rooms were large and clean with comfortable beds and nice linens; however lack of an outdoor sitting space was a drawback. Secrets Huatulco: Secrets Huatulco was beautiful !

Resort is beautiful ! Staff was amazing ! Rooms were very nice but the fridge for a preferred room lacked liquors...... need a real bar ! Shade at this resort is at a premium ! Swim up rooms need shade !

Barcelo Huatulco: Very relaxing

We had a very relaxing time at the Barcelo Huatulco. The rooms, pool area, beach, everything was super clean, and staff was very friendly. The evening shows were totally entertaining. We tried 3 of the 4 restaurants and can highly recommend 2 of them.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Older, "tired", resort.

Resort older but well kept. Food excellent in the buffets. It has excellent beach for snorkelling. Staff is friendly. We found our rooms clean & quiet but it needed some renovating. Be prepared to do lots of walking & climbing stairs as the resort is spread out - good exercise to burn off those yummy calories collected! Downsides - no internet in rooms, most do not have a patio (that is an upgrade), only one snack bar located on the property.

Camino Real Zaashila: Great resort !

I like in this resort : 1 Not a lot of people 2 Great architecture (very cozy and human) 3 Great location. 4 Friendly stuff 5 No stupid night shows I don't like in this resort: 1 Only one restaurant is available for lunch

Secrets Huatulco: My new Favorite Place

The resort is beautiful, quiet, and pampered luxury. The staff are fantastic and make you feel like you are the only person on the resort. Food was great, no reservations or line ups. Not a cloud in the sky for two weeks, and the beaches are gorgeous. I have travelled all over the Caribbean, Mexico, and Bahamas and this place is impressive!

Barcelo Huatulco: Great Resort

The resort was great. Service was excellent. Great restaurant choices. Buffet could get better. Activities were well coordinated. Convenient location to the airport and the city. Without hesitation, I can recommend this resort.

Hotel Castillo Huatulco: Fun in the sun

Just returned from one week vacation with my husband.Greeted at Airport by Antonio, Check in was simple and fast. Pleasantly surprised with HUGE balcony/sundeck.The room was spacious and clean. Towels and sheets were changed daily.Ricardo checked with us to ensure we were comfortable and all was well. All staff were friendly and did their best to make our stay memorable. Special mention to Fredrico, Miguel, Brenda and Anarmaya at the front desk. Wide variety of tasty foods to choose from at buff [... read more]ets. Waiters tried to entice us with various beverages/beers/pina colada etc. I especially loved the pool at the beach club. I do not speak Spanish, and the staff tried really hard to find out whatever I requested or asked questions about.We laughed a lot. A new elevator is currently being installed, but it was easy access to our room on the second floor. A clean and safe area to visit. Friendly and welcoming people everywhere. I would visit again.

Secrets Huatulco: Not There Yet

The resort is located in a very beautiful area. The décor is very bland and could really use some other colour that off white. The furnishings are flimsy. The staff is great. The liquor is top shelf but the food was very sparse is selection. To answer the question would I recommend this resort .....maybe. It depends on what you are looking for. It is a very long 5 hour flight and the weather is very hot 30+ every day.

Secrets Huatulco: Unlimited Paradise!

Secrets Hualtuco is a hidden gem! The ambiance, staff, food presentation and quality, the cleanliness , the tennis pro ( Victor) and the most spectacular views ! Wealth is within the walls! Staff is well trained and 'Most 'accommodating ! Imagine .... 5 pools / 6 restaurants / a Spa / maid service / unlimited drinks and food! But most important great PEOPLE ! From staff to clients! Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful Location

We would recommend this hotel to anyone. It is the second time we have been there and enjoy it. The grounds , staff, rooms, and service is very good. Everyone is pleasant and helpful. The view from your room is well worth it.

Dreams Huatulco: Beautiful Resort!

Very clean, nice rooms, great showers, staff was excellent. Only negative comment would be the food, while the buffet was tasty there wasn't always a large selection to chose from and it wasn't very hot.

Barcelo Huatulco: NO AIRCONDITIONED BAR

IT IS LIKE A NEW MERCEDES WITH A 11 hp BRIGS LAWNMOWER ENGINE- ALL SHOW NO GO. FOOD POISONING, TOO MUCH HEAT, NO WHERE COOL TO SIT AND HAVE A BEER. DRY PATH FROM THE POOL BAR TO THE WASHROOM, COMBATIVE STAFF AT THE DESK, ETC.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Amazing Resort

This resort was terrific; the grounds were immaculate, food was good, service was great, our room was well appointed and we looked over the Pacific Ocean - the 3 beaches were wonderful. We swam more in the ocean here, rather than the pools, than we have done at any other Mexican vacation we have had in the last five years (on the Mayan Riviera). Lots of walking, but we needed and expected it. The staff were always helpful and attentive to our every need. The Mexican food we enjoyed was more authentic than what we experienced at other resorts. The a la carte restaurants were all good and we never had any difficulties with reservations. Barcelo Huatulco: Nice Resort

Almost completed their major renovations which have totally rejuvenated the resort. Great beach, probably best on the bay, and beautiful warm and clear water. They need to get some extra training for their bartenders. Friendly staff and well maintained room - best water pressure in shower of any previous Mexican/Caribbean trip. All things being equal, we would definitely return to this hotel.

Las Brisas Huatulco: Lush grounds

The grounds are beautiful and manicured. The lobby is far away from the 4 buildings that house guests but there are golf carts that run 24/7 to bring guests to different parts of the resort. The food is repetitive and a bit bland. There is no entertainment at night during the low season and the only WiFi connection is at the lobby. We did have a scorpion in our bathroom. We know that there are critters that come from the lush vegetation but this was an unexpected and unwelcomed guest in our room [... read more].

Secrets Huatulco: Fabulous Location

Hotel is great, it is modern, adult only, the food is fantastic, drinks are great and the service is excellent. The weather is to die for. Sunshine everyday and temperatures around 30 - 33 everyday. The staff are very friendly and helpful. English is very good.

Barcelo Huatulco: Authentic Mexican resort

Room clean & I believe newly updated. Food was good, plenty of variety. Al carte also were good. Grounds were clean. The pool was not up to our standard. The 'adult only', we went swimming in only once. The beach has coarse golden sand. The red flag was up every day we were there. Dangerous surf with undertow for both adults & especially children. We did have fun on the beach & in the water. I did like that every thing was so close. My friends & I will pick a adults only resort next time. I would like to mention that the Sunwing reps. we're very friendly & helpful.

Secrets Huatulco: Beautiful Beach, Resort was Hit and Miss

We travel extensively in the US and Mexico and have been all down the Mayan and West coast of Mexico but hadn't been to Huatulco since 2008. We absolutely love the area and will go back soon. Our check in went well and the room was fine (advertised as oceanfront but it is not, we did have a lovely view of the ocean though). Most of our dinners were very good, breakfast was not as good as the Secrets Capri in the Mayan but there was enough choice. Lunches were hit and miss. We were comparing this [... read more] resort to the Secrets Capri we visited last fall and to be honest we were disappointed. One of the real positives at the Capri was the lobby bar - quiet, intimate with a piano player in the background. We could not find a quiet place in the evening for a drink at the Secrets Huatulco. We finally went to a restaurant and ordered dessert one night just to find a quiet place to enjoy a glass of wine. The Italian, French and Asian Restaurants offered the best dinners and we really enjoyed the Tepenyaki table at Spice. We had fabulous service from Maradeli at the beach, and good service most of the time at dinner. We found some of the bar staff aloof and we would stand and wait for quite some time while they chatted with each other or a regular. If a friend was looking for a place to party and loved glass and steel décor I would recommend this resort. We are looking for a fun place with great service and food that has Mexican flavor. Secrets Huatulco did not meet our expectations. For the price we expected better and will look at a different resort the next time we travel to Huatulco.
