Riu Santa Fe: Decent Resort but Terrible Service and Food

This resort was beautiful, great location and great accommodations. However the food on this resort was absolutely terrible, i expected better and was disappointed. Even the A La Carte restaurants were crap, not even close to being good. Also the service wasn't as good as I hoped, waited a long time to get little things done, like extra towels. They move at their own pace and there's nothing you can do about it. The last thing that really surprised me was that you can't go into the ocean from th [... read more]e beach......the tide is strong and the waves are very high. The lifeguards constantly keep ppl from going inside because of the danger.Aside from all that, had a lot of fun at the resort...but would def pick another place to stay at next time im in Cabo.

Riu Santa Fe: Party Central

Hotel was really nice. It was clean and well kept. Food was good with good variety. Pools where nice. Staff were friendly. The pools by the beach was the party place for young people who got rather drunk and noisy. Our room was good but we where kept up every night till after 2:00am. With people either partying or fighting. One night it lasted till 5:00am till the music and screaming finally stopped. Always enjoy a good party and the sights but this was a bit much at times.

Riu Santa Fe: First time to Cabo!

The hotel was very nice and clean. Everything was well organized and staff were very friendly. Drinks could have been better/more consistent. They varied from bar to bar. Enjoyed the view of the beach from the pools a lot!! Food was okay. About 8/10. The tortilla soup was excellent and we really enjoyed the fresh tacos from the square!

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort

The Resort was clean and easy to get around ,No problem finding fresh food ,lots of fruits. I would recommend this resort to anyone . Party central for sure ,so not as much for young children to do ,Easy to get into the downtown area for a walk around and 15 min down the beach is an area that you can swim .

Riu Santa Fe: Good Hotel if you want to party

Enjoyed my stay here, however if you are looking for quiet this is not the best pick. Perfect for if you want to party and a place to rest your head at night. The food and views were really good. Lots of variety. Hotel is close to downtown, $14 USD unless there are more people in the cab.

Grand Decameron Los Cabos: Royal Decameron resort Los Cabo's Mexico

It's a nice resort, it's smaller resort but nice none the less. The rooms are nice and the staff are very friendly. They grounds are kept clean regularly, they also have staff walk the grounds at night which made me feel safe.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Pretty much a perfect week!

This was my first time in Mexico. 6th all-inclusive in total (4 Cuba, 1 DR). We went in late April 2017, and the weather was perfect. I befriended a native who said this area of Mexico sees less than 14 days of rain. I want to highlight that there wasn't a cloud in the sky for 7 days. It didn't rain once. And it wasn't too hot. The highest it got was around 31, 32 Celsius, and at night wasn't too chilly. The weather was literally perfect. The ocean is un-swimmable because of the high tide, [... read more] but you can still go in a bit as long as you're an adult and have basic swimming. I would not recommend any children under the age of 14-16 in the water. Otherwise, you can only about 50 feet out, some days it's a little calmer. Just be aware, but honestly you can go in have fun, you just have to continually mind where you are and let the tide bring you back to shore, otherwise the outbound tide will take you out. You're basically playing chicken the whole time, but it's fun, and safe as long as you're an adult and just stay in the 50 foot from shore zone. The pool area is nice. Good service. Some of the reviews said it was a quiet hotel. That all depends. We got a group of 20 people that took over the pool area on the one side, played a lot of 80s rock like def lepard, bon jovi, etc. which frankly I did not want to hear, at, all. In the morning they were playing Tycho which was AWESOME. So, it all depends who's there that week. But great, heated pool. They have a separate salt water pool as well which faces the ocean. Everyone that worked there was nice. Allie and Ingrid at the front were so very helpful, very nice girls that gave us tips of where to go and what not. They were really down to earth people that love their job and were very accommodating. They always greeted us with a smile and were very bubbly. I was very happy to deal with them! :D But otherwise, as with any resort, everyone was super nice. The rooms were fine. I mean they were great. It's an all inclusive. It had a nice bed. No problems with anything. The view was from almost any room is spectacular. What else can be said. A+. Moving on. The food was outstanding. Different theme every night but as food goes, I really enjoyed every meal. Plenty to choose from. I didn't have anything I didn't like. All the meat was cooked properly--cooked and still juicy. I was actually impressed how they kept it succulent all throughout the 3-4 hours each meal is open. And it's no surprise that the head Chef Julian was amazing! My girlfriend has a peanut allergy and he was there almost everyday I was there, and every meal he personally walked me through everything that was laid out and told us what was and wasn't off limits. I got to speak to him as well and he's such a genuine, hardworking individual and it really shows through how the kitchen is operated and the quality of food that is prepared. He is a serious asset to any kitchen. The gym was what you would expect for a resort. Small, but it had everything you needed so you didn't fall behind. 3 elliptical, 3 treadmills, a bike lots of free weights, and bow-flex type of thing. I went to Mexico with the intention of not losing any mass, just maintaining, but I actually gained. Busiest time is 7am-11am. I actually rarely saw anyone in there passed that time but you can workout up to 11pm. Was seriously a life saver. Bottom line: Great hotel! 5 stars, A+, I would love, love, love, to come back! OH, one last thing, the town is only a 15 minute walk away which is neat and absolutely worth at least 1 visit at night. And if you're looking for sports since they don't carry many channels, there's a bar LITERALLY across the street that played Champions League, and if you were looking for NBA, NHL I'm sure you'd find a bar that plays them on the strip which is just 1 minute further down. Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Fabulous experience

This resort is immaculately maintained with beautiful decor and grounds. The staff are universally friendly and efficient. The food is excellent, with plenty of choices of venues. The breakfast buffet alone is worth spending time here. There always enough lounge chairs by the pools. It's hard to find a negative, except maybe the really loud entertainment - you can't get far enough away to enjoy the show without being deafened.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Our trip

The resort was gorgeous and well kept, our room was amazing. The weather was phenomenal the entire time we were there about 30 degrees and sunny. When we arrived on the Monday we noticed a LARGE military vessel parked out front of the resort that stayed there for the next 7 days and did not move and at one point there was 2 of them. We then began seeing Marine helicopters that flew over our resort at least 8-9 times day, low enough that we could see right in to the helicopter and Marines walking [... read more] up and down the beach patrolling. When we were in town one day we saw 4 armored trucks with Marine Military men on the back and machine guns that were also patrolling the streets. When we asked what the military presence was for no one on the resort knew or they would not tell us, it wasn't until we spoke to a local man who lived in Cabo who told us what was going on. He told us that Mexican police officers were fired because they had been working alongside the Mexican cartel. In response to this the Mexican Cartel made a threat against the Riu Palace saying they would take it over by the end of April. We were terrified when we heard this as we were there in April and considered coming home. I am unsure of the validity of what the local told us, but all I know is that there was STRONG military presence the entire week we were there and I know it was for a good reason!!!!! I was nervous the entire trip and it was the furthest thing from relaxing due to the above dangers. In addition to this the beach is INCREDIBLY dangerous, DO NOT swim in the water. My husband actually saved a mans life who was drowning from the undertow and had been pulled in to the water from where he was standing high up on the beach. The lifeguards will not come and help since they warn you that you are swimming at your own risk. Stay away from the water and take a walk 20 minutes down the beach where it is calm and safe to swim do not risk it!

Riu Santa Fe: Great vacation!!!

Was hesitant at first as rooms appeared dated but they were so clean that it made up for the older decor. Food was good. Large variety. Pools were great. 4 on total. Drinks plentiful and good. Staff were friendliest I have ever seen. Close to town and can walk it on the beach. Water too rough to swim but 5-10 min walk to the right has a roped off area to swim. We did and it was great.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Riu does it again!

We loved this hotel and had such a great vacation in Cabo. Literally, we did not see a single cloud the entire 7 days we were there. The weather was great, the hotel was great, the food was great (loved the Indian), the pool was great, the room was great. We had the best hotel maid, who took great care of us. Thank you Iris! It was a working holiday for me and I arrived to find that there was no desk in the room. They brought me a little table and a chair, which was very nice. Not that it's impossible and don't get me wrong, the beach is beautiful and very clean, but there can be some really rough waves and the water is cold. I'm usually a beach person, but the pools are very nice with great views. A cab ride into the city is 250 pesos each way, but there's also a public bus that costs about 15 pesos. There is also a Walmart within walking distance of the hotel, which came in handy because we forgot our sunscreen. We went into the city and took a water taxi around Land's End (El Arco) for 260 pesos each. The tour agents will try to sell you a sunset dinner cruise for between $50 and $90 US, but it didn't seem worth it.

Barcelo Gran Faro Los Cabos: Great place to stay!

I went with my boyfriend and we had a great stay are Barcelo! The breakfast buffet was our favourite and we enjoyed all of our a la carte dinners (seafood, mexican and sushi). Dinner buffets were also delicious. The lunch buffet was our least favourite (but still enjoyable). Most days we were satisfied to eat guac and chips at the snack bar though! My only negative experience with the trip was with the concierge. I didn't find them overly helpful with a few issues (booking a la cartes, wifi, booking shuttle back to hotel etc). They have a strange policy of photo copying your ID when you buy wifi (also you can't charge it to your room, you need your credit card). When I asked them why they only responded that it was their policy. They could not explain why they needed it, where it was stored or how long it was kept. A small thing maybe but it certainly bothered me. Also it's an inconsistent policy since one time they didn't photocopy ID and one time they did. Overall a great week and if I was the type of person to go back to the same place twice I certainly would!

Secrets Puerto Los Cabos Golf & Spa Resort: Fabulous Resort

We totally enjoyed our time at Secrets! We went for my husband's 60th birthday with 5 other friends. Everyone loved our pool time and relaxing vacation. We did go on a couple of day trips to local towns and deep sea fishing! There is so much history in the Baja desert! Excellent and friendly staff, delicious food at various restaurants on the Resort, beautiful bright rooms and immaculate grounds, everything was very clean and very well maintained. The only negative is that because of the un [... read more]dertow, you cannot go swimming in the ocean ... but you can walk on the beach and enjoy the pounding waves. There are lots of pools, daily activities and a golf course to compensate! Would we go again .... yes, in a heartbeat!!

Riu Santa Fe: It was great.

It's quite a nice hotel. They changed our room without any problems. Our 1st room faced the back and we wanted morning sun and a view. Sports bar made awesome cappacinos (with bailey's of course). Bldg 7 and the infinity pool was really young and not our cup of tea but the middle pools were great. Overall I would go back but had issues at the airport with the scam artists in security. Riu Santa Fe: Party resort.

Hotel was nice. Well kept and great scenery. Food was ok. Nothing special. Front desk staff were very inconsistent and not helpful when issues arose such as problems with rooms ie... two twin beds pushed together and calling it a king bed.. not accept. Took 3 days to change rooms to a proper king bed. Beach was not great. Vendors harrased you all day of you sat down there and there is no escaping it. They set up directly in Front of resort so you can't even see the water as they stand in  [... read more]Front of beach chairs. Drug deals galore on the beach. Not safe to swim as waves are to big all the time Pool bars are full of 20 years olds drunks all day partying to hard. Good resort of you want to go get smashed, party, do drugs and not relax. Riu Santa Fe: YOU WILL NEVER BE DISAPPOINTED

This is my 3rd trip to the Rui Sante Fe. The resort and rooms are clean. The staff very friendly. The restaurants are clean and have a wide variety of food choices (all Great). The pools and activity staff are amazing. I had no issues with towel or availability of lounge chairs. The weather is amazing not a cloud in the sky.The view is spectacular. I would definitely go back again.

Riu Santa Fe: Great Resort

Great place. Only complaint is the doors could have been better insulated for sound in the rooms - could hear people in the halls much too well. Had a great time. The beach is nice but the waves are big.

Riu Palace Cabo San Lucas: Our best resort after 40 years of travel !

Our room ocean front was great, the service was superb all around, the grounds were beautiful . The food, whether in the cafeteria or the specialty restaurants, was very good. And of course the weather was great for the full 7 days.

Villa Del Palmar Beach Resort: Great resort

The rooms are very clean food is great grounds are very well kept the staff is wonderful I would go back to this resort. Just 10 min walk into town. Sports bar staff was amazing they had the leaf games on during play off and cheered along with us

Holiday Inn Resort Los Cabos: Good Resort

We thoroughly enjoyed the Holiday Inn. The service was excellent, the price was the best of the all inclusive hotels, the rooms were clean, the grounds were the best around, the pools were clean, and service at the meal times was superb, the cab service was very good.
