Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Would recommend

First time staying in the riviera Nayarit, the beach is much nicer than puerto vallarta and buserias. the food at the buffet was amazing every day, and even on a 10 day trip I looked forward to the food every day. The drinks at the bar were very good, and the bartenders showed us some new ones. (Special shout-out to Leo at the pool bar and Irving in the buffet for their service that went above and beyond) The grounds were very clean and well maintained. We had a few minor issues in the room but nothing that would ruin the trip, the only real complaint I would have is the rooms are not soundproof at all. You can hear everyone walking down the hallway, and the neighbours talking in their rooms. That being said, the rooms were very clean, the water pressure was amazing, water was hot, air conditioning worked great, and of course an amazing view from the 5th floor.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Still a great place to enjoy!

This resort is such a wonderful complex. Many pools including a quiet one for seniors, lots of beach chairs on the beach and at the pool and the restaurants are excellent. We have been there 5 times and never disappoints. After covid they have improved some processes such as towel return and online restaurant reservations. Only one reception desk was open but it was sufficient.

Grand Decameron Complex Bucerias Trademark: Excellent resort

The Royal Decameron Complex is an excellent resort. It’s not a five star but is affordable, beautiful surroundings, it’s kept clean, the rooms are clean, the food is great, if you want a change there are many surrounding restaurants available, there is volleyball, tennis and cycling and the entertainment is every evening. We’ve been going for many years and are planning to go again next year.

perfect example of an older 4 star Mexican hotel kept in good condition, food was great, 6 a la carte restaurants and 2 large buffet as well as other smaller restaurants serving breakfast and mid day snacks. 5 pools, an adult pool, an activity pool and the others are a mix of people, directly on a beautiful long beach ( maybe 5 miles long) but murky water with powerful waves. good nightly entertainment and a disco. Never food or drink shortage, closed to grocery stores and Walmart should you need to buy things. the town of Bucerias is very lively and within walking distance. A casino is nearby, Mexican market for souvenirs. The hotel still use old fashion keys which should be replaced with electronic cards, same for the free safety deposit box.

Buenaventura Grand Hotel and Great Moments: Not impressed

First of all location is great, beach area is mostly rocks now. Upon arrival entered room, had no save and no working phone, apparently they don’t have clocks in rooms, had to get a safe and phone fixed . Room was so noisy due to the open lobby with entertainment and loud drunk people in hallways all night, went next morning for a room change , told we would be second floor ocean view and balcony, waited until 4pm to find our room on third floor with a window. Samba Vallarta: Hotel and location ar

The Hotel is old but well maintained and beautiful location Grest Besch Nice pools Most staff is very good some a little slack (probably new) but friendly and helpful. The Hotel needs better management to Upgrade Food was always cold with Little change And poor selection. Average to poor specialty Resturaunt Bar service was great but Little selection of Good Quality drinks and the Daily shows were Poor to Pathetic This is DEFINATLY not 4 star Quality more like 3 or 3 1/2 at best. Decameron Isla Coral: Noise

This hotel is about 1 hour outside Vallarta and in a different time zone! There was no one who spoke English there when we arrived. Blasting music with full Bass from 9am to 11pm. No shuttle, No Alacarte

Flamingo Vallarta: Great resort

The rooms,yard,lobby where clean and looked good . Staff was awesome Sherman was the awesome cook . Marina area has great entertainment, restaurants even though we where at all inclusive we ate at the restaurants a few times as they had entertainment. And wanted to support the area . I will be going back

Flamingo Vallarta: Absolutely Amazing

This place was absolutely beautiful. The grounds, were very well maintained and staff was so polite. Even though we did not know Spanish they taught us and we taught them. The cooking/ waitress/ bar tenders were all very helpful and polite. I would definitely go back.. very clean place.

2nd time visiting the Royal Decameron. Safe to say we would consider a 3 rd trip Staff are wonderful and the grounds are beautiful. Walking distance to Bucerias! Room rates are affordable. This is not a 5 star so don’t expect it to be. It’s not fancy. Very laid back. We spent the majority of our time at the adults pool. Made some wonderful new friends and talked to so many amazing people. Many great laughs too. Disco was a hoot. The Buildings are dated but beautiful. It was a pain in the arse to get up and walk to the lobby and book by 8:00 am every single day We were pretty lucky. Some not so much :( what if you didn’t own a device? Very sad. Wifi needs to be in ALL rooms. A really nice assortment of all ages here. Smoking wasn’t too big of a problem but this resort should consider smoking sections but not at pool side! Gross. The Buffets were okay. My favourite was breakfast or lunches. This resort is large. We got lots of exercise! There is no pool side service here which we’re used to but we survived We would recommend this resort. Some staff wearing masks. Some guests too. It’s really nice to see this resort operating at almost full capacity since everything was shut down for so long. It was wonderful to be back. Tip.. Bring lots of 20 & 50 dollar pesos for tipping. It’s challenging getting larger bills broken down. The staff greatly appreciate you.

Occidental Nuevo Vallarta: Good friendly resort with incredible staff

Over all we were very happy apart from one incident where a wedding was taking place and the wedding party were in the bar area until 1.30 am screaming and shouting. The bar area was under our room. When my husband rang the desk to ask that it be toned down he was told curtly that the wedding party has permission to have the area until 1am. He was also told that we should not hear it as we were on the sixth floor. The area was open to the high ceiling so anyone who had a room above that wo [... read more]uld have heard it. The noise was toned down somewhat but not stopped until 2 pm. We did not allow that incident to mar our holiday but were disappointed at the response to a civil request.

Plaza Pelicanos Grand: Love this Resort!

This was our second stay at this resort. No complaints! Accommodations are nice, beds are comfortable. The buffet and a la cart restaurant are great - the food is excellent. The staff is always friendly and accommodating to any request. Generally, there are loungers available around the pool and on the beach. Due to construction at the resort next door, it is loud around the pool during the day coupled with the pool activities.

Decameron La Marina: Sunny vacation

Resort was decent value for the money and most staff were good and assisted when they could with the exception of older male at front desk. He was rude and not helpful. Recommend that front desk staff be fluent in English to assist visitors.

Grand Palladium Vallarta: Just OK

Overall, the resort is just ok. We did a Saturday to Saturday trip and it was too long. We were getting pretty bored by day 4. We chose this resort after staying at the Palladium in Riveria Maya, which is much bigger and better situated. Our room (panoramic ocean view) was clean, but the bathroom shower made a huge puddle on the floor with each use and the jets in the tub were full of mildew. No way I'd take a bath in that tub. As for the view, the tiny balcony has a solid wall so if you sit [... read more] down, you'd be looking at concrete. The ocean could be seen if you sit up on the edge of the right hand side of the bed. We were overlooking the infinity pool, it's supposed to close at 10:30 but 3 nights there was a lot of partying going on much later. The beach is really nice and there are boogie boards, surfing lessons and boards, mini catamarans and paddle boards to use. The waves are high though, but if you can swim its fine. If you want a shaded chair at the pool or the beach, best to get out there and tag one with a towel before 9 am. The pool is super warm and you can see whales pretty much all day from the pool edge or the beach. Buffet restaurant is not bad, the food is pretty average buffet fare. We were not impressed with the a la carte restaurants at all. The Mexican one was the worst of the 3 we tried, food was bland and salty. Italian was the best, fish was nice and the carbonara was good until I came across a bunch of uncooked egg whites in it which killed my appetite immediately. There is a small store at the resort, my advice is bring some snacks, sunscreen and any OTC meds like Tylenol from the airport or home. They are charging $8 USD for a bag of chips. Sunscreen is $25 USD. Activities were expensive, everything is in USD rather than pesos which is inconvenient unless you are American I guess. I was hoping to get out and explore Sayulita but was told the bus and colectivo are not recommended. Taxi there and back was about 100$ CAD. We did go on a nice sail boat for snorkeling and whale watching which was $300 CAD for 2 people, and it was worth it. Taxi to the marina and back was charged by the amount of people even though it was the same van. 440 pesos for 4 people and 1100 pesos for 8 people on the way back. The staff were all super, cheerful, very nice and helpful throughout the resort.

Canto Del Sol: Some disappointments

CONS: Took us 3 tries to get decent room. First 2 rooms - bathroom door wouldn’t close, taps leaked. One bathroom did not have ceiling or light and wires were hanging down. Third room was improvement but still leaking taps which were never fixed. Lounge chairs at main pool could not be adjusted - could not sit up. Couple of days lounge chairs were difficult to come by. Plus nice splash pool and a shallow area for little ones. Buffet food fairly good/average. Plenty of selection. Enjoyed the 3 restaurants we attended. Most nightly entertainment pretty good. Majority of resort employees were great. There was hand sanitizer available throughout resort.

Sunscape Puerto Vallarta: Weather and Beachfront

We found the resort very clean. The rooms were restocked daily. The staff were amazing! The a la carte dining was served like a 5 star resort. Gorgeous presentation. The buffet did not have much variety though.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: It was a supper Resurt, has almost everything one would want.

First we booked and paid for Deluxe Resort View with Queen bed but was downgrades to Standard Resort View with double bed for first 4 days but upgraded to Deluxe for the last 3 days after complaining to management every morning for first days,other than that the resort was almost everything anyone would want. The workers were excellent and bent over backwards to help you. Management has some growing pains but is working hard to ensure the right person is filling the right slot. Talking to peo [... read more]ple that have spent time at the resort before said that the resort was not quite at the same level yet as before COVID19 but will get there before end 2023. We don't know what that means but we were impressed. The next question;Would you recommend this resort to a friend, ONLY IF YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR AND ADVERTISED. I would also go back with the same reasoning and was compensated for the downgrade. Our value and overall rating is based on unfair treatment.

Krystal Grand Nuevo Vallarta: Had an amazing time!

Beautiful grounds, well kept and clean Food was varied and really good! Beautiful pools. I wish there was a jacuzzi in the pool area, which I need to use regularly for back pain issues. Enjoyed our coffee every morning I felt the drinks were a little watered down. As there are only three a la carte restaurantes, the system of lining up before 7 am to make a reservation seems not the best way to do it. Great time overall! Will likely return

Friendly Fun Vallarta: Enjoyable Resort!

Although the hotel is older we were very comfortable. The service was great! We especially enjoyed using the adult section which consisted of an adult area bar with food availability, pool, hot tub and beach area! The beach was great and you could walk long distances. The food was very good and the service was always quick and friendly! The standard room did not have a bar fridge and the shower pressure was inconsistent when using hot water. The music at the pool area was sometimes too loud and the chairs were difficult to find and were not comfortable. The outside beds were comfortable if you were fortunate enough to find one that was available. No other entertainment to speak of in the evening although they did have a DJ and dancing at the beach every night. We were surprised to meet so many Canadians at this Resort ! It was nice getting to meet and chat with other people, many of them repeat visitors. We enjoyed our vacation but most of all the adult section of this hotel was a real plus for us! We booked this trip with Sandra Taylor from Tripcentral.ca. She was very knowledgeable and did a great job for us. Would not hesitate using Sandra again.

I love this resort because of the staff, they are cheerful and friendly. The many pools, the many restaurants, the ocean and beach and that you can walk for miles either way. They keep things very clean. i also love the rich colours of the buildings! The wifi could be better!
